Sabine cafe is a cute little brunch spot that has a casual and chill vibe. We came around 10:45am on a Sunday and waited ~15 minutes to order food - you have to order at the counter first before finding a table. Even though the restaurant is pretty busy, it looked like there was always a table available. They have a heated, covered outdoor dining area that had a lot of natural lighting and some spots indoor. TURKISH EGGS - 4.5/5 Service was good and the food came out relatively fast. We ordered the Turkish egg and a side of potatoes. The Turkish eggs were really yummy! Not too heavy and the sourdough bread was so good. Portion was perfect but I wish there was more sourdough bread, as it wasn't enough to eat with the egg/avocado. The ambiance of this place is really nice and its right beside Ballard farmers market. read more

I just walked out of this place and was waiting for anyone to acknowledge our existence for over twenty minutes. Sat in two different places trying to get service and once we got up the bartender waved by to us like he was trying to get us to leave. No idea what we did or said to deserve that. The way Sabine works is this, you order at the counter, grab one of their many tables in the gorgeous restaurant and they'll call out your drink order but food will be brought to your table, even with it being packed we easily found a spot to sit. Let;s talk food! Oat Pancake 5/5 my husband LOVED this its has a little apple butter between the pancakes and the hazelnuts go wonderfully with the dish Whipped Feta 5/5 I loved this so much and I even snuck nibbles at home since we ordered so much and it was so YUM! Falafel 2/5 I was disappointed in this, I know falafel is by nature dense and a little dry but this was too much of both, I'm sure it'd be wonderful in a sandwich with other toppings but I do have lots of falafel when i visit family in the Mid-East and its just not quite there Sabine Breakfast Burrito 5/5 Yum Yum YUM, ugh I couldn't put this thing down and it is a monster (for me anyway) it's a great sandwich and ordering it alone is more than plenty of food! Sabine is definitely in the running for the best brunch in Seattle. The Turkish eggs were done really well. The eggs were perfectly running and blended well with the whipped feta. The classic fried egg was done way better than I was expecting and the arugula was a perfect touch. The service was really quick and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant was nicely done. You order at the front of the restaurant and you seat yourself after. I would recommend stopping by on a Sunday morning, grabbing some breakfast here at Sabine and then exploring Ballards farmers market afterwards. read more

This restaurant makes me want to move to Ballard. Seriously. It's such a cozy spot with a super friendly staff and the outdoor patio is really gorgeous! I had some friends in town last weekend so we stopped in for lunch and it was perfect. Between us we had the pickle appetizer, a breakfast burrito, avocado toast and the chicken shawarma wrap and we loved every single dish. Special shoutout to the aperol spritz, they make a great one! When you're not entirely sure you got enough sleep, but the baby is awake and you need a delicious and filling breakfast, Sabine is the place to go. They have a covered outdoor patio where your baby can squirm and cry without disturbing other patrons too much. Additionally the food is in reasonable sized portions, which means you can eat your entire meal while it's still warm. If you don't have a baby to bring, this is a great place for a casual breakfast/lunch with the out of town friends you see once every five years, non-friend coworkers, or a first/blind date. The interior is inviting and charming, and the casual setting (you order at the counter then grab a table) reduces the amount of time you need to fill with awkward small talk. And if you need an excuse, you have to grab your own water so you can walk away from the table long enough to think up a story you can pretend to spontaneously recall with your dining partners later on. The food comes out reasonably quick, but not so fast you question when it was made. The portion sizes are reasonable so you don't end up in a food coma that can lead to poor choices with said non-friend coworkers and first/blind dates. The dishes I think about are: Turkish eggs and BLT. Their baked goods are also to die for: the pain au chocolat has a light crispy exterior, buttery layers, and the right kind of chocolate. I have yet to check out their bar area or dinner scene, but I am looking forward to checking it out at some point. read more

A lovely gem in Ballard. Super cute space and kind, warm staff. Went here for dinner and everything we ordered was delicious. The pita was cloud like and the flavors of each dish shone through. The caesar salad, whipped feta, fried cauliflower, and compressed melon were all incredible. Also stopped by twice for pastries. The matcha latte was good and the pastries were amazing (all made in house). The coffee cake and brown butter cornmeal cookie were my favorites. In two weeks, we've been here twice and took visiting friends there yesterday. It's a pretty great setup and great food. You order at the counter, take a number, and sit down. You aren't supposed to sit before ordering and it seems like everyone abides by the rule. We've found a place to sit without issue each time. They bring out your food pretty quickly too. I've had the mushroom toast and breakfast sandwich and both were great! Coffee is good too. I had the potatoes yesterday and they were great! You can sit inside, in the covered patio on the side of the building, or in the area across the sidewalk. The interior is cute. Feels a bit like an old timey soda shop. read more

Busy on the weekend during brunch time! Street parking as expected. You stand in line that normally extends to the outside and lines the front of the restaurant. When you get to the front of the line you order and then find an open table. You don't sit before you have a table and that seems to keep people rotating through. They have a variety of menu items from breakfast, pastries, brunch, lunch, drink items. The food was great. The salad was fresh, colorful, unique mix of ingredients, full of flavor and spice. The sausage was not in patty form as expected but still delicious. Savory and sweet. As for the drink, it was pretty to look at and makes you feel warm inside. Best vanilla latte I've ever had. Stopped by Sabine and it was really cool. The food was very pricey so I just got a vanilla latte with their house made vanilla flavoring and it was sooo smooth and perfectly subtle. I'm really picky when it comes to coffee so this was a great surprise. The interior is also really gorgeous. Lots of seating and a really nice outdoor covered patio. Excellent all around. Everything was amazing. We were wandering the streets of Ballard... hungry... thirsty... and happened upon Sabine. I must admit, I was hesitant because the menu is a bit small, but it turns out the portions are perfect and the flavors are out of this world. Our party of 4 started with the sampler (Salatim) and it did not disappoint. The beans in a pistachio pesto were the table favorite, but believe me when I say that nothing was bad. I DO think the amount of bread and pita you get is nowhere near enough though, and an extra $5 is steep for an additional pita and two slices of bread. Otherwise, perfect. The mains were stellar. I got the Fried Eggplant while the partner got the Lamb Meatballs. Also ordered at the table were the Hanger Steak (claimed to be one of the best he's had) and the seasonal special Rack of Lamb. I don't know that two skinny ribs served on a bed of chilled squash should be called "rack of lamb," but the recipient was happy and ate with their hands. All of the cocktails were unique and fun, and the wine list has some very interesting offerings. Overall, loved it. read more

Such a cozy spot in Ballard perfect for a rainy Sunday farmers' market!! Sabine takes orders as you enter -- you order and pay at the cash register before you're seated. So, the ordering line looked long at 1pm but actually moved really fast. We were seated by a cute fire pit that kept us warm. I ordered the Turkish eggs because they sounded too good to resist. It turned out to be such a well balanced meal with lots of greens, the perfectly gooey sunny side up yolk paired with whipped feta and Aleppo butter. Such a great brunch spot in an amazing location! It's perfect to start or end a day of exploring Ballard, whether you're visiting the weekend farmer's market or doing some shopping at the many boutiques nearby. Sabine has a policy where you cannot seat yourself until ordering at the counter, and the line sometimes trails out the door and moves slowly because of this. However, we had no trouble getting a table after reaching the front of the line, so it does seem that the slowness of the line benefits you in that way. I had the breakfast salad, which was absolutely delicious. It had a great amount of crunch from the toasted quinoa, and the egg was perfectly cooked with a runny yolk. While we waited for our dishes, we ordered some poppy seed pound cake- forgot what this is called but it had bits of dried oranges inside and it was so perfect for spring! Just the perfect amount of sweet paired very well with the espresso tonic and matcha elderflower tonic we got. They have an extensive non alcoholic drink menu which was perfect for my pregnant friend! We also tried their breakfast salad and it was amazing! So fresh and flavorful. If you don't care about bar seating you can walk in and ask and you can be seated almost immediately, usually. The menu's the same either way. Anyway, what's good? Grab a sabine breakfast sandwich or turkish eggs, or get both. You will get lots of flavor, lots of deliciousness, and did I mention lots of deliciousness? If you're feeling boozy, grab a mimosa or drink while you're at it. Love the aesthetic, love the food, not a fan of the service. Definitely a popular brunch spot - the line was literally out the door on a Thursday! Luckily we were able to beat the line and find a spot. We got the Turkish eggs, breakfast sandwich, oatmeal pancakes and the zatar potatoes. All tasted so good, the Turkish eggs were definitely filling though I wish they offered some side of hot sauce or crushed red peppers for some spice but the potatoes are seasoned so well. The non-alcoholic mimosas was pretty good. The place itself is such a vibe, there were people working, having meetings, brunching with friends/fam with such fun decor. There's also outdoor dining with heaters around. The service was not the best - not friendly at all rather the girl taking my order seemed annoyed, would recommend looking at the menu before coming since there's no real sense of direction on how to place an order or a clear location of where the menus are located. You will have to order before being able to get a table, grab your drink from the bar and also bus your own table so don't see the point of asking for a tip when placing an order. read more

This place is an amazing find! It's one of those places that is full of style and you wonder if the food is going to measure up but lo behold there is enough substance with the style! First off the ambiance is great - it has combined the looks of a coffee shop, cocktail bar and brunch restaurant! We ordered the avocado toast, baklava toast and the whipped feta mezze. We were taken aback at the costs at first, but they were very hearty and filling portions. The avocado toast was tasty but the real winner was the baklava toast. The mascarpone mixed with pistachio spread over the tasty brioche was a thing of beauty! I absolutely recommend this dish. The whipped feta mezze was amazing too! The description is understated in the menu - it is whipped feta and labneh topped with Turkish olive oil and zaatar. The accompanying pita is fluffy and soft but not white bread which is appreciated! They have sparkling water available to all which I liked too. There is very little I would change about my meal here! Would definitely visit again if I'm in the area. read more

It looked like the wait for a table was going to be a while, so we ended up sitting at the bar. (There were just two of us, so sitting at the bar isn't a big deal.) We started with coffees and mimosas. Grapefruit was an option, so naturally, I went with that. (If you know me, you know that I love grapefruit. And tart flavors in general.) Neither the coffee nor the mimosa let me down. For our mains, I got the Breakfast Salad and my partner got the Breakfast Sandwich. The salad was very light but flavorful. Busy brunch masterclass. We stopped by Sabine for the first time while showing visitors the Ballard farmers market. This restaurant is always full so I assumed we would have to wait a really long time to get in. Not the case! You stand in line and place your order, then pick a table. We had no trouble finding a nice spot in the sun room. Food was out within 15 min! Everything was really delicious! This may be our new tourist brunch spot! The dining area was quite noisy, possibly due to the building's structure, which made conversation difficult. A quieter atmosphere would be preferable for enjoying time with friends.
