I had Anticuchos and Lomo saltado and my friends ceviches and papa a la huancaina; the only problem was the service, the place wasn't that packed at all and when we sat, they didn't even greet or nothing, just went to the table and ask for the order. I guess they get for granted that as the food is good, everybody is going, but that's only 50% of the "experience" (that's why I'm giving 3 stars to the restaurant). This place can't get any better! the ceviche in my opinion is the best among many Peruvian restaurants. I tried most of their seafood plates, I recommend, the ceviches any kind they are all good, the jalea de mariscos, pescado a lo macho, sudado de pescado, arroz con mariscos, chaufa de mariscos, and if you have a hangover, the must try item is the chilcano de pescado (clear fish broth with pieces of fish and cilantro). This is my favorite place to eat ceviche. I always ordered fish ceviche which is fresh, juicy and perfectly comes with sweet potato and corn. The portions are super big, so you can definitely share. I was excited to order from this place. I ordered the fried rice with beef for take out, I was told it would take 25 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and paid for my take out, however, I had to wait another 30 minutes before the food was ready. I wasn't going to make a comment about that, but will say, if you want to eat or order from here, do it before it gets busy. The disappointing part of this visit was that when I arrived home, I felt like I paid for overpriced rice because even after waiting for so long the rice was not all cooked, some of the rice was uncooked, you can taste it. This our second time here but today service was not that great. First all they had available was the tables against the wall which are very tight to sit at. Not sure if they were trying to rush us out but they seemed as they didn't care. I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a lemonade, Two minutes later the waitress dropped off two beers and walked away. We corrected the order but the lemonade was horrible, just like when you squeeze a couple of lemons and don't put nothing else and without any ice. I think they maybe forgot to put a bit of sugar in it. We ordered a ceviche for an appetizer and although it was great, the main entrees came at the same time. I've been to many other restaurants and the servers do ask you if you're ready for your food, especially if you just started eating your appetizer. My wife made a comment to me about the lack of customer service, the waitress that happened to be walking by at that particular moment said "well, yeah" We drove almost an hour to eat here but this is our last, food is great, but the service tonite was awful. Everything you get here is amazing, specially the Jalea, Lomo Saltado and Seafood Rice, it reminds me of enjoying Mancora beach in Peru. The portions are massive and prices surprisingly cheap! Atmosphere is extremely casual and you may find all kinds of peeps eating here. We usually have ceviche and another menu item depending on the mood we are in, with papa huancaina as the appetizer. I went there yesterday to have An amazing experience but it was far from it. Only reason they got 2 stars was due to the Red Snapper i had Which was delicious . I ordered The potato's with cheese which was like a boiled cold potato that i didnt Like at all. Ordered the seafood fried rice and instead of it being called seafood fried , should of been called calamari fried rice. I didn't like it and sent it back . After the tying the bill they still charged me for the items that were not to my liking. I'm really glad that I went with people who are familiar with the menu. I got to try dishes I never tried before and it was amazing. *Papa a la Huancaina (Potatoes w/Peruvian cheese sauce) was mild and covered in sauce. My friend loved it and asked for extra sauce on the side. I'm not a big fan of potatoes so this was just ok for me. *Anticuchos de Corazon (Beef hearts brochettes) Declicious!! I would have never guessed that I was eating a beef heart. It tasted like beef on skewers. It had a really nice flavor and I would definitely order it again. You can't go wrong with meat on sticks! *Choros a la Chalaca (Peruvian style mussels) Think mussel ceviche. Really good. Big mussels on half shell topped with diced red onions, corn and all that yummy juice. We ordered it extra spicy and was glad we did. *Chaufa de pollo (Chicken fried rice) I was a little surprised that my friends ordered fried rice. I mean it's just chicken fried rice! But boy this was pretty darn good. This is something I would order again. The flavor was a little different than fried rice from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai or wherever. This was really good. What a lovely - small - non-pretentious Peruvian restaurant in Edgewater. It's been in my bookmark for months. Finally ventured on a Monday evening and to my surprise, it was packed! I love seeing good restaurants succeed. You know it's good when locals eat in every day. We started with inka colas and canchita (toasted corn that melts in your mouth upon biting). Our diner consisted of lomo saltado and tacu taco with pollo saltado. We loved el lomo; beef was tender and gently seasoned. Lots of onions and tomatoes, French fries and white rice. Both rice and fries get a nice bath by the delicious sillao sauce. Dig in and smile. I love tacu tacu and this version was no exception. Rice and beans (with veggies - nice twist) mixed together and then pan-fried. The portion is great for two. I got chicken since I wasn't in the mood for beef -- it was good, but el lomo triumphed. Next time I'll stick to the standard. Parking in the back can be scarce, so proceed with caution if using other (unmarked) spaces. read more

My lomo saltado had 6 small pieces of meat (yes I counted) and rest were fries. I thought they made a mistake (either with the delivery or the order) and tried calling the restaurant and it's impossible to get them on the phone after 8pm. I've eaten at this restaurant many times before, and it is the best authentic Peruvian food in Miami. It's located down Biscayne Boulevard, not too far from the Adrienne Arsht Center, and I've been here for dinner before attending a show in the past. The ambiance is low key and unassuming, but usually, the restaurant is completely full. Generally, it's loved by locals, and I've even seen a Miami Heat player in here before. For appetizers, if you are willing to try it, the anticuchos de corazon (beef heart) is delicious. The ceviche here is spectacular, and once you try it, it will likely be your point of comparison for ceviche in the future at other restaurants. The ceviche mixto was perhaps my favorite, and it includes white fish, octopus, shrimp, and mussels, all marinated in lime juice. My husband always enjoyed their carne a la parrilla, which is a Peruvian barbecued steak. We usually had our meals with their Sangria. Both the tres leches and quatro leches are traditional dessert options and delicious. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous helping of food and quality. One issue, the servers generally speak very little English, so have your iPhones and Google Translate ready. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends, and when I come back to Miami, I'm sure I'll visit again. read more

This is my go to place for an inexpensive well cooked meal, whether it is eating at the restaurant, take out or delivery. I do not recommend this place. Very bad service. The hostess had a very ugly attitude. The price is high for the quality which is just ok. My neighbor who is Peruvian cooks better. I ordered "chaufa" and it came without eggs. When I asked why didn't had eggs, she told me they ran out. I had to let her know that it would be better if they let the customer know about missing ingredients in the orders so we can decide if we still want it ‍. I used to love this Peruvian place on Byscane Blvd. I must recognized a slight change with the quality of the food and portions. I always order the ceviche, but my experience wasn't the same this time. l ordered fish ceviche with my friends and my plate don't even came with the garnish. Lately, my bf and I have been eating at a lot of Peruvian spots and only once have we been disappointed (service was crappy but the food was delish). Sabor a Peru was alright being that it was the first time we've been here. Once inside, you notice the decor has a "yo amo Peru!" sign and other nice Peruvian articles. At the same token, a tv is continuously playing music videos from the 80s! Lol I've never seen the video of Lionel Richie's "Hello" until now, even earlier Elton John music videos were playing. Needless to say it was entertaining to watch and reminisce. Now, onto the main attraction- the food. The ceviche and the soup were good. I would have preferred the ceviche in smaller pieces, but the tangy and spicy flavor were perfectly balanced and the portion was big. Then again for $12, it better be. The soup was just as good. It was in a big bowl and served as the entree. I loved how it had a variety of squid, mussels, shrimp and fish. Not just a bowl of steaming broth and 2 shrimps and a small piece of fish, and voila, seafood soup! The only negative comment I would give this place though, would be the grilled beef. The portion was HUGE! You would think they served half the cow. However, more than half of the meat was fat and bone. I would not order it again. If I were to come back (too far of a drive from where I usually stay), I would stick to fish. read more

Bring your family and friends here so that you can try more items at once. We don't speak Spanish and the waitresses are super nice and sweet. Be prepared to wait even when the place is nearly empty. We came at 10:30am on Saturday with only two other tables yet waited 30 minutes for our food. It was totally worth the wait though. Very good Peruvian food in a nice area. The ceviche mixto was large! Great mix of seafood and gratuitous amount of it as well. The price was great! The lomo saltado was very yummy. The meat super tender and delicious. I do wish they would add a few more tomatoes to the mix, but that is just my personal preference. I was happy to drink a Cusquena which is a nice golden lager and a Cristal. I was disappointed that they do not serve Pisco sour! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, whihc is nice.
