I have to say this place was such a great and lovely vibe! I enjoyed my time with my son and best friend, the food and caffee de olla were amazing!! Not to mention the service, Nick was my server and he did such an amazing job, plus he was very sweet! He definitely made a great experience along with the hot sauce he recommended, I will definitely be going again! Thank you Nick!

The restaurant was clean and quiet as there was only 1 table occupied with 2 people. The food was just okay and not at all in accordance with the reviews I read before coming. Order: Tampiquena The Carne Asada and potatoes were over seasoned with SEASONED SALT both on the meat and potatoes and the plate. Talk about overkill. The enchilada was nothing spectacular either for the reason there was NO real savory taste to the enchilada sauce. Note: The meal comes with rice and beans SO when you say all rice doesn't that always mean double rice???? Not for this place. BTW the serving of rice and beans was something to laugh at, a child's portion. Order: Chicharron En Salsa Verde This meal was better. The service was okay because when you are given whole beans in their juice shouldn't you be given a spoon? Not here and you have to ask for napkins because you are given 1 each. No ice with the water which the server should have asked and not assumed ice is not wanted since the water was not really cold! And for the beer, it was NOT cold either and when asked if the beer was really cold before ordered the server replied it's in the refrigerator. Note: Mexican food is not cooked with seasoned salt, there are other spices you use if you truly are an authentic Mexican Restaurant, just saying!!

The flavor and tenderness of the pork in salsa verde is perfection! The cafe de olla, took me back to my parents rancho! My husband had the torta de milanesa. Everything about the layers in the torta was delish . This place is such a hidden gem. The service is top notch !! You have to try it!

Not really that good. The food was salty in my opinion. The eggs were overcooked but the potatoes were the best thing. I paid $4.50 extra for steak and it was a huge disappointment. It was small and it entirely consisted of fat. I gave it to my dog. I did like the potatoes so I gave it three stars. The people were friendly as well. I had no problem with parking on a Sunday. I would recommend this place.

If you're looking for flavorful homemade food then this is the place.Small cozy atmosphere with admirable wall art. Friendly attentive staff. Family friendly with a nice patio. Right off the bat we ordered their guacamole with chips and it was a hit. Fresh and well prepared. For breakfast I ordered their eggs with chile verde.Soooo good,I highly recommend it. My fiancé couldn't stop talking about their chile verde plate. Our daughter really enjoyed her cheese quesadilla. We were also impressed with their spicy salsa to go along with our food. Once we finished eating we went and sat at the patio.Ordered beer and wine based margarita's. The beer was cold and margarita's well balanced. The owner was very friendly and sat with us for a while. You can tell he takes pride in his restaurant and food.I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to come back.

The restaurant is ok. The aguas frescas all taste watered down. I ordered the salmon and it was ok. Dont get the birria de chivo I got a bunch of bones and fat on the plate. Pros -Nice restaurant -Good service Cons -Food isn't the best

I have ordered from this restaurant a few times throughout the pandemic and have not been disappointed yet!! I've only done take out so far and each time the staff has been super friendly. I can't wait until I have the chance to dine in. I went in today and noticed they redid the inside of the restaurant and it looks great!! Superrr cute!! I love when a restaurant thinks outside the box when decorating and doesn't do typical restaurant decor. I've ordered the albondigas several times and each time I have loved it!!! The flavor is so good and you get a good amount of veggies and meatballs. My kiddo is weirdly not a fan of Mexican food but he loves the bean and cheese burritos from here. I recently ordered the red pozole and was a little worried because ya never know but it was delish!! And you actually get nice big chunks of meat in it! Definitely going to continue coming back!

I took my mom here for a Mother's Day brunch and my birthday celebration because it falls around…read morethe same time every year. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

She ordered the sisilog (crispy pork with fried eggs), and I went with the Binagoongan talong (sautéed eggplant with shrimp paste). We paired our meals with refreshing sago't gulaman, made with tapioca pearls, sweet syrup, and Filipino-style gelatin. It was the perfect sweet, icy finish. The place is at the corner of what looks like a deserted square on S Glendora blvd... and it made…read moreme nervous that the place was empty, but open til 9pm. It's a large-ish space, and I guess kind of like a sit-down place (not "turo-turo/cafeteria style like some Filipino joints), with a ton of Filipino snacks on the counter. Plenty of seats that have seen better days. A portion of the restaurant is covered in plastic to house some construction equipment ? I asked for the pork sisig ala carte and decided to add an order of kalderetang kambing and 2c of rice. Big mistake buying more than one entree when you are taking it home and have no clue how their food tastes. I trusted Yelp too much. . Sisig had a 1:1 ratio of meat to bell peppers. I also couldn't help but feel lile the peppers were undercooked, even raw. Maybe that was their style, but I also disliked the mayo on top. Now the kalderetang kambing had a strange fishy (gamey) smell in the car. When I tried it at home, the meat looked so red and tasted way too sweet, not at all like the Kalderetas I'm used to back home. The meat was falling off the bone soft though. This is my problem with Filipino restaurants in the US - if they can't make dishes better tasting than what I make at home (i rarely cook but im a good eater), I cannot rate them high at all. I've eaten too much Filipino food in my life to know what tastes good. I feel bad because the folks who work here/(owners?) are pretty nice and they were working on Valentines. But the current rating they have is misleading. If you're going for the big entrees like I did, and are used to Gerry's Grill type sisig, prepare to be disappointed. Yelp, you did not come thru for me this time.
