    Tajadas c/ carne asada

It comes with some other stuff (queso fresco, rice, etc. but I got it plain) The meat is tender and flavorful easy 10/10 The tajadas crispy but still soft inside and not too thick or thin. I also got the horchata (not the same as Mexican horchata, it's got a mocha-like flavor)

    Good food good prices!

Food was cooked right. Good portions. Filling. Fresh ingredients. Definitely coming back again.

The place is extremely small. Anyone taller than 6 ft will definitely need to duck in order not to get a concussion. Little parking. Service one out of our two waitresses was good. The one that wasn't was kind of rude. Forgot some of our drinks and noticed but then forgot to bring them to us. The food was okay. The flavor was alright, but some things came out faster than others, so as half our party was finished the other half was still waiting for their food to come out. We ordered the costilla de Res and it was a good medium rare. I asked for it to be well cooked. I could not continue eating the food. Also the food did not sit well in my stomach either. Doesn't happen to me but after the food there I can without a doubt say that this is some of the worst food I have eaten. Will never be coming here again as we are not locals, but just in case some tourists read this I would think twice about coming here! If you want local food I would check out other restaurants and if you don't want to waste a lot of time at a restaurant then look the other way.

Our family really enjoyed all the food here, from the chops and salsa and beans n cheese to the fried fish and typical plate.

The Hondureña Tipico #21 carne asada, sausage, salsa, fried plantain, rice, beans, cheese, and sour cream

I have been driving past this restaurant for several months now. I wasn't sure what to expect besides Central American cuisine. I've been craving fried plantains and "tipico" food since leaving Costa Rica after vacation last year. Parking is in the rear and when you walk in, the restaurant is homegrown. After walking in, I was immediately transported back to Costa Rica. They have tables and booths but only a few tables were taken. We took a seat near a window and the lone server came over to greet us, in Spanish. We ordered, but I guess our Spanish wasn't up to snuff because when she came back she spoke to us in English. Heads up: the Hondurena menu is in Spanish and there were a few times when we had to consult Wikipedia. We both ended up getting the #21 which is the tipico platter (tipico is the house dish, it's a little bit of everything and you find them in Central America). The platter was a good size, it came with carne asada, sausage, salsa (pico de gallo), crema (sour cream), queso (a slice of cheese), rice, beans, and FRIED PLANTAINS! The food came out quickly. Everything was really tasty, especially the carne asada, it was seasoned perfectly. I loved their homemade corn and flour tortillas that came along with the food. The fried plantains were just what I was craving, perfectly fried and caramelized. We had enough food to take home and we did just that. I'll be coming back, I can't wait to try their pupusas and other Honduran specialties. TL;DR: authentic Central American restaurant with great food for an even better price! Be prepared to order in Spanish if need be, but that only adds to the charm.

Our first time here & I'm ready to write this review. Seen good reports by others and they are right. It was all amazing. The coffee was even flavorful and not too hot. Just right. We had the mojarra frita and #22 plate with the carne asada. Jesús C. has a good pic of that. The fish was fresh and amazing. Presented with tostones. Yes. The beans are delicious. I usually do add lime to them but these really didn't need any extra seasoning. We'll be going back to try more menu items.:) The hot sauce is definitely very hot. Including the little bottle on the table so procede with caution unless you're up for the challenge. It is clean and tidy to be a little hole in the wall restaurant but they make good use of the space. It's great to have in SA some other Latin food choices so that is awesome. Something I do miss from ATX but with food this good not for long then. Course, SA has the best tortillas. That being said, the tortillas here, both harina y maíz, are hecho a mano so they're delicious. Bueno. Buen provecho!

Their pupusas are cheap and delicious and usually keep good if you don't finish them in one sitting. The reason for the loss of a star is the service. The lady handling to go orders has no customer service skills. She stands there, and stares at you while you make your order. She doesn't try to engage and seems like she hates being there. The phones take a while to answer or they don't answer at all. The hours are also very short, with days closing at 7pm. The interior could be clean, but overall is decent enough and doesn't instill any ideas of being dirty. Some restaurants around this area are much less well kept than here! The little mini-market has plenty of little Salvadorean and Honduran treats! They have services to send money back home, a staple you'd see in any Central American store. Overall a great little restaurant, but it could be a little nicer and more welcoming, but delicious food makes up for it.

Unfortunately the food fell short and the service didn't meet the mark. The most surprising thing was how unseasoned the food was. The pork chop was basically the only item that popped with some flavor from seasoning. Everything tastes as if it was just cooked or boiled with in plain water with no seasoning or spices added. The pupusas were extremely bland. The service missed the mark as well. Staff seemed as if they really didn't want you to be there. And there was absolutely no urgency for anything. Dishes came out periodically with having to ask for an update on them. It seems like it could be a lively place but as I looked around most of the patrons were just waiting around the same for their food. Maybe the kitchen staff was having a bad day. Either way I was disappointed because I really had been looking forward to coming to this place but not sure if I'd be back anytime soon. Also the parking situation was a bit hectic.

We also started out by trying their soup of the day which was a Brazilian recipe and it was SO good. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. As far as entrees we ordered the Spice Route Beets were vibrant and flavorful. We added salmon on the side. We also ordered the Pharm Kitchari (with chicken sausage added) was wholesome and well balanced. Oh and the vanilla bean mesquite latte is sooo darn delicious. I had two and still want more. Smooth, slightly smoky, and not too sweet. If you want food that tastes clean, fresh, and delicious, this spot is a must.

We sat on the back patio for dinner on a day when it was 100 degrees out and there were fans all over to help keep the air flowing, which helped immensely. They have some interesting cocktails, such as their jalapeño cucumber margarita which is made with ghost pepper infused tequila. Their salsa tray is nice too, they have 4 to select from and you get three in this appetizer, but we ordered the 4th as well and all were pretty nicely done. The verde was amazing and the roasted tomato was great, just not spicy at all. I tried their combo fajitas and was thankful they came out being simply plated, rather than on the blazing hot, sizzling skillet - I don't need the show, just the good eats. The meats were decent, the beans were amazing. The tortillas were just ok, as I felt like they were way too thick. They offered corn tortillas too, but I'm in Texas, so you get flour, not corn. Save room for dessert, they have amazing churros! Overall, this was a decent visit. Service was nice too. I'd recommend stopping in.
