Here is a TEXTBOOK example of how horrible service can ruin a perfect meal. There was literally only two tables with patrons, including us. Two waitresses. They STILL struggled to give good service. I mean the body language SCREAMED I'd rather be anywhere but here. They had the demeanor, attitude, and effort of a sloth. Heck a sloth would've been preferred! It's a shame... the food was actually really good! I will start with what I didn't like. Red table sauce was atrocious. Like inedible. Also, where is the guac? Ok any dish? Then beans either were from a can, or great effort was put into making them taste that way. The corn tortillas were surprisingly good. Not blow me out of the water, but better than most! Kudos for using the CORRECT cut of meat for fajita. Great flavor and very tender! The rice was good too! The quesadilla was also a better version of that dish. The dessert was fantastic. They are made in house...the service was just that bad. I asked for charro instead of refried, still got refried. Had to flag her down several times...remember two tables, two waitresses. Unfortunately we came because Cherise SA TX Food Guide recommended it via tik tok . First we ordered chip with queso , and it came out 1 min before our food (we also had to ask the waitress when it would come out because we had been waiting for a while). The queso was lumpy, not fully heated and no flavor at all. I ordered the cheese enchiladas which lacked flavor , beans same thing , rice same . My husband ordered the mole enchiladas and a chicken fajita Gordita . Both lacked flavor. I will say the tortillas and horchata were good but unfortunately for $55 it was not worth it . read more

They are baiting and switching at this restaurant. One price is listed on the menu however, once at the register or when paying, another price is listed. I went today, 4/29/25, and my meal was $11.99 but was charged $14.29. When I asked why, the waitress stated not her problem and so I asked to speak to someone else. I was given a phone and the owner was on the line. I was told because he posted signs about price increases he doesn't have to update the menu. I argued the signs are vague and nothing in the restaurant lists the price differences. He was unprofessional and stated due to these signs he can charge what he wants. Do not go to this restaurant, they will overcharge you for mediocre Mexican food that's a dime a dozen on this side of town. read more

Green salsa is wonderful, though very mild! We had the barbacoa plate, which came with potatoes, refried beans, and eggs--prepared just the way you like. I opted for the bean and cheese tacos, and the soft, yummy tortillas were a delight--you can even buy them by the dozen, with barbacoa available by the pound. Both mine and my wife's plate were excellent, she had the cheese enchiladas, and I had the street tacos. mine came with cilantro, both grilled and sliced onions, lime and a bowl of charro beans. waitress was very nice and attentive, and the interior was very clean,, we will definitely go back. read more

Terrible First time experience here and definitely my last time. Came in to almost empty restaurant, sat down and ordered, Got our drinks, then people started coming in ( lunch rush ) and saw their orders being taken and were getting their food first, while me and my mom are literally 30-40 min in waiting for our food and the rest(lunch rush) are 15-20 minutes in already getting their food, eating and paying for their meal while we wait. No one came to check to see if we needed any refills, nor to see if everything was good until after we got our plates and the place almost back to empty again. I've been to this place before. The pozole verde is out of this world good. I have yet to try the menudo. The tamales are big and have a great flavor. If you get there early enough you may be able to try the tamales de rajas con queso and the chicken Ones since they are bomb. All of their tamales have different complimentary masa and they have sweet ones as well. The tamarindo agua was slightly sweet but the Jamaica agua is super tasty and strong. This is a great place and it has a real cozy vibe. read more

Great little spot across from Wolff stadium. The portions were generous, and food came out hot. If you want tamales, they come by the dozen or half dozen. I went there this morning. The posole was awful. Never had an awful posole in my whole world. It tasted like water, not not seasoning at all. It look like they just added water and heat up the posole never again I will not go there again I was gonna take my family from out of town there, but I changed my mind. Don't go here it's a bad experience with hidden up charges... Came here with a party of 9 the service was not good at all. The majority of the party ordered tacos and we waited about an hour and some for our food. A lot of the orders were either missing food or just incorrect. The waitress kept getting switched out and one waitress even laughed at one of us who was missing food when everyone els was already eating, saying "poor you" while laughing aloud walking away. Aside from that no food special was honored even after it was brought up to the same waitress. Her response was "that's just how it is, sorry". After we finished eating what we did have, we were "given" empanadas as what was thought to be a curtesy due to having a poor experience (so it was acknowledged) just to find out we were charged for that (we didn't ask for it/most us of did not want them). Even after we finished some of us were pushed to accept the food that never came to the table and instead have it to go while still being charged for the unwanted items. We all have understanding of working food service so we had patience knowing that sometimes things just get out of hand, it happens. In this case the service was just so bad and disrespectful/unorganized. Even one of the cooks stepped out to the front saying "Are these the guys" to a waitress right in front of us while making irritated facial expressions to us. Fairly new spot in San Antonio with classic mexican flavors. The food is very authentic and everything I crave when I'm not home. Finally we have normalized eating tamales outside of the month of December! Their sweet tamales are my favorite, specifically the raisin and cream cheese! I crave it all the time. The cajeta tamale was also a big hit. The dough wasn't too dense which tends to happen in sweet tamales. Their tostada siberia is a favorite as well! It is the perfect healthy find to stay true to my roots without making me feel as if I am compromising my waist line. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and adds so much flavor to the dish. The drink sizes are fairly large and the prices are very affordable. Finally, this is a family owned restaurant and they really do bring that vibe to their restaurant. The Pozole Verde was delious so much flavor. I also enjoyed the Menudo but it wasnt as hearty as I like. I would prefer tostados and lime with my menudo rather than lemon and tortillas. Tried the tamales chicken was small but tasty, and the bean and cheese tamle hit the spot. read more
