We felt like having pizza and decided to check out Sabrosa Pizza. It's an older establishment, so it's seen better days, but we were not there for ambiance. We came for PIZZZA! We ordered in front and then sat down at a table. More people take it to-go and we were the only ones eating it there. But we wanted to have it fresh from the oven! ***OUR PICK*** 50/50 SABROSA AND FIFTH AVENUE ~ SABROSA ~ onion, pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, sausage, olives. FIFTH AVENUE ~ thin crust, light white sauce, bacon pieces, salami, onion, feta cheese, mushrooms, well done. We chose thin crust, but realized the toppings were too heavy for a thin crust, so the toppings fell off easily. Our fault for trying to make the Sabrosa a thin crust pizza. The fifth avenue side held as it should as it was made to be thin crusted. Nonetheless, it was still a very good pizza with slingy cheese pull! 4.5/5 Their food is delicious and reasonably priced. Bottom crust stayed crispy for the first 2 slices, so we were glad to eat it there. We were not disappointed! We'll be back if we're in the neighborhood when the craving hits! read more

The Richmond ( not the city) District in San Francisco has some of best pizza places. You will find great pizza spots such as The Laundromat, Pizzetta 211, Giorgio's , Gaspare's Pizza House , Fiorella Clement, and Nizario's Pizza which started in the Mission District. The most anticipated pizza opening in San Francisco for 2026 is Rose Pizzeria where Village Pizza once stood on the corner of Clement and Arguello. There was always a spot at this pizza place which had great pizza. It used to be Bella's Pizza which had the Top 5 pizza in all of San Francisco back in the days . The had one of the best pizza which was saucy and cheesy in SF. Today the same spot is now occupy by another pizzeria . It's located on Geary street between 5th and 6th avenue. On a Spring stroll on Geary street I landed at Sabrosas. Inside there are plenty of tables and the decor is interesting . I ordered their cheese slice and pepperoni slice. I was expecting a cheese pull . It wasn't as cheesy as I expected . The pizza had cheese and it was savory a bit chard and a bit salty like some in SF. The pepperoni slice was very saucy and it had some flavor. Overall it wasn't as good as the former tenant Bella's Pizza but it was a good tasting pizza. A place worth checking out if you are doing a pub crawl with a pizza crawl. Good pizza is getting very hard to find. My local, neighborhood go-to place has slipped in quality so had to look for a new place. Granted, this was on the other side of the park from me but I wanted to give them a chance based upon reviewing options between the Sunset and Richmond districts. Definitely worth trying if you're in the city. Perfect if you are leaving Golden Gate Park it's a quick 4 minute drive. The pizza was perfectly made. Delivery on Monday, January 13th via the Sabrosa website which suggested the Slice app* which I downloaded: Small 12" (6 slices) PESTO pizza for $21.99. * The Slice app features local pizza shops, has rankings, deals, reward points you can earn towards free pizza and other good stuff. Seemed like a worthwhile addition to my iPhone, but strictly speaking, I don't think you have to download the app to place an online order. And of course, you can always call it in the old-fashioned way too. Since I was feeling lazy and opting for delivery, I had to enrich my pizza and add some toppings to meet the Sabrosa $25 minimum for delivery (note: not all shops on Slice have a minimum). For my extras, I chose basil, garlic, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes for $1 each. Some other extra toppings will cost you $2 (bacon, chicken, clams, and pesto). For your add-ons, you can choose Left Half, Right Half or Whole coverage, which does not change the per-topping charge; fair enough! Crust: Regular, Thin or Thick -- I went with Thin, which was still hefty enough to not flop over with all this veg overload. Subtotal: $25.99, plus $2.73 tax, $4.15 delivery, a Support Local $1.49 fee, and a $5 tip, total pizza ka-ching was $39.36. This was not cheap, but that is some DAMN FINE pizza. Crust just right with excellent chew, even great reheated over a low flame in big pan next day with lid cracked to let out extra steam. Vegs all fresh and top-quality. Pesto epic. Not greasy, but not low-fat (dear God, the horror), no, pizza fans, it was just right. Delivery handled well, on time and still warm at arrival. This was not a meal I was planning to have, but I'm sure glad I discovered it. Taking a walk east on Geary at sunset, I was about to make a right toward Golden Gate Park to see the latest iteration of Charles Gadeken's Entwined, the illuminated tree of light cubes. I just glanced at the menu here and noticed just one item that wasn't pizza or pasta: Oven Roasted Chicken. For $17, it came with fries and veggies, so I decided why not give it a try even though there was no rotisserie in sight, just several pizzas ready to go into huge ovens. I ordered from the owner who forewarned me that it would take twenty minutes. I didn't mind since I was waiting for it to get dark outside to see the light sculpture in its full glory. I sat in the empty dining area. As I waited, several customers and delivery dudes came in and out with their pizza boxes. I'd guess 90% of Sabrosa's business was pizza takeout since no one joined me in the dining area. Well over half an hour elapsed, and the owner finally came out with my order, profusely apologizing for the delay and telling me he made it with his heart. It was a full plate with a roasted half-chicken that managed to have crispy skin and tender meat, both dark and white. Instead of fries, he provided a nice side of spaghetti. We live nearby and I always take the 38 bus from the stop across the street on Geary, so we were delighted to find this local spot for pizza. The guys working when we picked up our pizza were super nice and friendly. We got the: Cranberry Arugula Salad Seafood Special Pizza (regular crust) Pesto Pizza (thick crust) Geary St Pizza (thin crust) The cranberry arugula salad was really refreshing, with cherry tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and feta. I just wish there were slightly more dried cranberries, but the salad was solid overall. The Seafood Special Pizza was really delicious. They really went hard with the garlic (which I love) and shrimp, and the green onions added another layer of flavor. The Geary St Pizza was my favorite overall. Again, super garlicky and salty (because of the cheese), in the best way possible, with the spinach providing a nice contrast to the garlic/cheeses. The Pesto Pizza was the only one that fell short. It looked amazing and was laden with tomatoes, bell peppers, artichokes, red onions, and black olives, but was not as flavorful as we were hoping. The pesto was a bit milder than expected, and the fresh tomatoes/red onions made the pizza a little soggy (by the time we got home), because of all the excess moisture. In retrospect, that was our fault, as fresh veggies on pizza always creates more moisture than I am a fan of on a pizza. Other than the Pesto Pizza, we really liked everything. It is really nice that they have three different crust options (thin, regular, thick) for customization. We will be back if we're looking for a quick bite of tasty pizza in the area! read more

Sabrosa Pizza will definitely be a spot for us whenever we're in the city. We had just arrived from a flight from San Diego and came across this joint. They offered quick pick up orders (around 8pm). Other than trying to find parking, the place was fairly easy to find. What's even more impressive is how nice the person at the counter was! He might've been the owner? The pies here are very tasty, and the crust is made just right! We opted for a traditional crust on one, and a thin crust on the other. I personally don't have a preference, but they put a decent amount of toppings and each crust type was able to support everything - no falling toppings, ha! We also ordered their house salad, and it might've been the dressing, but it was a very tasteful salad. Go give these guys a try! You won't be disappointed! read more

Sabrosa is now the only place we order full pizzas for delivery in the southern half of the Richmond Dist. and northern half of the Sunset. Yes, there are some great slice houses around thecity for a quick bite, but Sabrosa is consistently timely and filling when it comes to full, traditional, nothing fancy, just-what-you-need for a night-in or a game day pie. Easy to park if you are on your way home and run in. Available on the Slices App so you can avoid fees and "adjusted upwards" pricing on certain apps. My only wish... that they opened earlier on Sundays!!! But to be fair, Pizza this close to godliness requires a day (or at least a half-day) of rest. He asked us to call when we left the pavilion and promised that the food would be hot and ready. He delivered as promised. We ordered 7 XL pizzas, salads, pasta, wings, and mozzarella sticks. It was National Sausage Pizza Day , so what the heck! As for my order it was painlessly placed via DoorDash, the nice thing being that I was able to see when my order was ready for pickup. As for Sabrosa, I lucked out with parking right in front of the Pizzeria. The space is basic, but growing up that was pretty standard for Pizzerias, it was just important that the shop was clean and neat since your basically walking into a bread bakery. Pickup was easy, and the person working was friendly so nothing but positives at the shop Regarding the Sausage Pie, it was nicely baked, but FYI it lacked the char that I associate with a New York Pizza. I have been here once for takeout and twice to eat in the restaurant. I've had their pesto pizza, garlic breadsticks, lasagna, meatball sub, and meat ravioli w/alfredo sauce. I've tried many items since I usually like to order more so I have a snack and even dinner as well. I arrived about 12pm today and at other times it was later in the afternoon. Each time there are a few people inside eating, but there is no wait to order. Ordering is quick; You just go to the counter, pay, and seat yourself down as you wait for the food to arrive on the table. Previously I saw a cashier/waitress and a chef in the back. Today the chef I believe was also working the cashier. Anyways, it was my first time trying their meat ravioli in alfredo sauce. I've been having some jaw pain so I'm sick of porridge for now. I requested for the ravioli to be cooked longer so it would be super soft and easier to eat. It was perfect since I was able to eat it with minimal chewing. The food here is creamy, flavorful, tasty, and filling. On the complimentary bread, it was even cut into smaller pieces for me. How thoughtful! I was working nearby and I saw this joint on our way to the job site. Located on the busy geary blvd you're gonna have to find some type of street parking nearby which isn't impossible but not always easy. They deliver after 5pm so if you're local you should be good. We ordered for lunch and were off work by the time we could get delivery. I ordered a medium pepperoni and mushrooms for pick up on the phone because the doordash app linked to yelp had a very minimal selection of sizes. Kinda curbs your selections to a bigger size but that's pretty common if you should be ordering for delivery. Also nothing really beats interacting with a person to be specific on your orders amirite? I also want to add that the gentleman that took our order was really chill, patient and helpful. My coworker wasn't too pleased with the thinness and droopiness of the 8 slices but he said the flavor checked out. That's just a second opinion because I would say the flavor is on point, seasoning and not under or overcooked. It is open until midnight, which would work since our after-party starts at 11:30 p.m. However, we needed to try it to ensure it met our East Coast family's standards. We ordered takeout, and the pizza was great! The dough is fluffy and thick. The cheese and sauce pair well together, making it an all-around delicious meal. After this, we knew that this was the pizza place for us. The next step was confirming that they would be able to make 10+ pizzas for the after-party of our wedding.
