I went to another Mexican joint not too far from Sabroso and it was busy the menu was great but it wasn't a "sit down" restaurant so I left. I passed Sabroso on my way back to my hotel and popped in to an excellent food find. The dining area is great! Large and comfy, surely a good place to hang with friends. There's an outdoor area and I sat there. This is a walk up and order establishment and the young lady behind the counter was extremely helpful. I got the a plate of chips and guacamole and it was really good. The chips were house made, light and crunchy and the guacamole was delicious. I also got a huranches (I think that's how it's spelled) with carnitas and it was a delicious large portion. Let not forget the ginormous mango margarita. Wow that was one heck of a drink. Don't miss this place if you are in the area.

This is not the best Mexican restaurant in town but that is not always everything people are looking for. It's casual enough where you can go and dine with an ease; a spacious dining room with friendly staff are other important elements we all want to see in a restaurant. And what's more, it has a spacious patio, a must have in the summer (warms months are around the corner, right?) This place checks out at least several of those elements. My to-to experience was more than good yesterday. Hence this review to express my gratitude. I wanted something light. The thought of having a crispy flautas (all of a sudden) hit me. I had reviewed this business on Yelp before yesterday's takeout experience so I knew about their great selection that includes the very dish I was eager to get. You have three to choose from: shredded beef or chicken or potato. But if you are greedy enough (like I was!!) to experience/taste all three, you can do so as the dish comes with 3 rolled tortilla flautas. Several condiments will accompany your main that are: crema, queso fresco, red and green salsa. You can add rice and beans with extra $3.95 (which I opted out; instead, I got a side guacamole for $1.95.) The lady upfront was so informative about the dish I ordered (she ensured that I'd get everything I'd need.) Her friendliness was emitting like a bright light from her smiley face. Service - top notch! It took about good 10+ minutes before my food came out from the kitchen and yet, I would say this is average. I was there when the restaurant only had one table occupied. A dish like flautas does take time as they have to be deep fried to the crispiest. I wasn't in a hurry (thank goodness.) Once I got back to my car, I started to savor my food. Whereas the chicken was a bit disappointing as it was a bit chewy, the potato (this was my favorite out of the three) and the beef were pretty good but most of all, the crispy corn tortilla was so crunchy. As I morseled it, the crunchy sound my mouth made was so loud to my ears (LOL!) The side guac was solid as well (I shall not forget to mention it!)

Fast Mexican place in the neighborhood with lots of seating and a fun environment offering sports of every sort on four different screens! Large dining space and order up counter expedite your meal, but it doesn't take away from the freshness. My husband had the steak and Al Pastor tacos and love them both, but when asked if he had to choose, he would go with the beef. He ordered a beef sope I just found it to be forgettable and underseasoned. I had the veggie tacos and they were nothing exceptional, but nothing awful either. They were basic with black beans as the base and I really like the tortillas. I had a mango strawberry margarita which was nice and my husband loved his Horchata. The salsa was almost an upgrade from a jar, but the chips & guacamole was quite delicious and fresh. Came here on the recommendations of a few friends and definitely enjoyed our experience! Love having a fast delicious Mexican food in the neighborhood and we will definitely be back!

They have moved across the parking lot to a bigger space. It used to be a Tokyo Joe's. The remodeling they did look awesome. Lots of seating and also the patio seating. Definitely 4 stars for ambiance. I got the smothered breakfast burritos with potatoes to go. I wanted loaded with sour cream and green chili. Tips: 1: skip the sour cream. That sourness is not good. 2: no lettuce. It was topped with leafy lettuces which kept getting stuck on the roof of your mouth. Very annoying experience. I thought everyone was using the icebergs. It's not a good experience. 3. Ask for hot sauce. There was not much flavor or heat. Food: 3 stars at best for my smothered breakfast burritos. Ambiance: definitely 4 stars. Employees: 5 stars. I m gonna try something different next time.

Great family owned restaurant! Delicious food, amazing service and wonderful atmosphere. It was my first time here and I thoroughly enjoyed the freshness of the food and the prices are awesome. I ordered the Mexican bowl which tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. My husband ordered the street tacos which were truly authentic. I would highly recommend eating here and will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Denver. read more

Inconsistent food, terrible service. Ordered from here numerous times. Food is sometimes pretty good, sometimes not - never the same level of spice, sometimes the meat is cooked perfectly, sometimes not. The 2 stars is due to that and the awful level of service. I have called more than once to place a carryout order, and the person who answers will say 'Hold on', then set the phone down and never pick back up! Can still hear the workers and other people placing orders. Has happened more than once. In-person ordering not much better in terms of staff interaction. Too many good Mexican joints in Denver to deal with that at this place! read more

Ordered here almost weekly for the past few months since we found the place but today they lost a customer. Husband went to pickup the phone order- burrito and cheesecake. The bag was tied closed and he took it home. They put the wrong dessert in so I called to get a refund. They wouldn't refund me until I brought the dessert back.... I explained I can't drive back nor do I want to with an infant who now has bedtime for them to just throw out the cake ( I hope they wouldn't serve something that's been in someone's home). She said she won't refund me until I do that. Why would you treat a loyal customer like that. read more

Here we go. No greeting. Always bothers me when I'm getting ready to buy something and it seems like I'm bothering the Business by being there. My friend immediately was like this is not going to be good. Should have listened. Poor service, terrible food. Ordered smothered. Apparently smothered means no chile at all. Called them after we left with our to go. They argued with me about having green chili "in" the burrito. Bringing me back to the smothered "debate" when I was handed my $9 burrito in a small paper bag with no salsa. Look, just dont let these businesses take advantage of you just because. You deserve to be happy when you go someplace. Reasonable, common sense expectations, at the very least, should be met. At least I can take to Yelp when this happens rather than going back into the place for more discourse. Not every place deserves our patronage and this is one of them. It seems like I've been on a drought here lately. Sabrosos should be embarrased. read more

The food is so incredibly favorable and fresh. Had street tacos, smothered burritos and nachos. All excellent. One of the few, very few, top Mexican restaurants in the south area. We are really fortunate that Sabroso is in the south area! A go to favorite of my family! read more

Me along with my colleagues visited this place for lunch. Here food was okay, not super delicious (I am from Texas, ate more delicious food than here). We all tipped generously. As we are done with the food, an old guy (I guess he is the owner), without any respect he came and said, "you guys need to pick up your trash and throw them in the bin". I felt pretty much offensive. Moreover, he demands us to tip $10 if he picks up our empty baskets. Firstly, I have the manners to pick up my trash and throw them in the bin. This guy suddenly comes up and commanding us to leave the table clean. I will never visit this place again period. read more

How have I not reviewed this place before? I come here almost weekly for the best legit Mexican food ever. So many things that are great however pork and pineapple???! Yeah pretty much an unbeatable combo. If you haven't been here get here now. After my meal I get to have my secret kid indulgence. Churro!!! The family who owns this place is super nice too. Today was our first time there. One of my employees goes there often and always posts a picture of her street tacos. We got an order of steak street tacos and a chicken quesadilla today and OMG were they AMAZING. It was super busy and super small in there, but oh so worth it. I can't wait to go back!! Those were the best street tacos I've had in Colorado so far!! They had some fresh baked cookies that I was eyeing as well, I'll have to get those and a fresh squeezed orange juice next time! read more

I had a torta chilanga.It was ok. I feel like it lacked flavor. It's decent enough to eat once.I personally wouldn't come back.The food is so greasy I took a bite of my torta and almost vomited. The salsa isn't great either. The taste I got from the salsa was that flavor food picks up from a dirty fridge. read more

This place is overly priced. Paid $12 for a burrito that only had chicken rice and beans. No cheese. No pico. I would not recommend this place. Just go to chipotle or qdoba. Staff was unfriendly and acted as if they didn't want to serve. Burrito was so dry, i think i got cottonmouth. read more

My husband and I live close by, and after seeing all the good reviews decided we HAD to try it. All I can say is #Chipolte. The guacamole tasted like it came from a bag and they only give you a 2 oz portion when you order chips and guacamole. I got the veggie street tacos and the tortillas were so greasy I had to remove the bottom one just to eat it. My husband had the pastor street tacos and they were 5 times greasier than mine. The flavors were ok, but nothing special. Also, they don't recycle. Everything gets thrown in one trash can and they have Fox News playing on the T.V's.. next time we go to Chipotle. read more

My wife and I were doing some early shopping at Park Meadows, and decided to look for a dinner spot we haven't tried before. We fired up Yelp, and saw the reviews for Sabroso, so decided to give it a shot. I'm SO happy we did!! The street tacos were AWESOME! There are 4 to an order, and I had 2 Steak and 2 Pastor. The corn tortillas they use are perfect, and they double them up so they don't fall apart when scarfing down the tacos. The ingredients all just tasted fresh, and the flavors will take you straight to Baja! My wife had a steak burrito w/green chili and loved every bite!! The only recommendation I would give is with the nachos. They were really good and use what I think are homemade chips, but I think they should use a different melted cheese. They use a typical "nacho cheese from a can" type of stuff that doesn't really add anything to the nacho. Other than that, this place is the bomb! Very clean, VERY friendly and super high quality food. We can't wait to return to try more from their menu. The owner told us that they should receive their liquor license in the next 30 days, so adding a cervesa to the meal will be an option. This is seriously the best Mex that we've found since returning to the Denver area. Try it out and you will thank me! read more

There is no grill at Sabrosa Fresh Mexican Grill, just a flat cooktop. The chicken is like thin, sautéed strips. The al pastor tacos tasted like the chicken, but with a thin sauce coating it. Very little flavor. The pineapple isn't integrated with meat, it is optional, which is unusual, and probably why it lacks flavor. The horchata wasn't complex. We liked the authentic music, but could have done without Fox News on the TV. read more

We were craving a good breakfast burrito on a cold morning. Quick search on yelp and we landed at this place. The egg, chorizo and green chili burrito was phenomenal. The green chili has a little bit of heat but not overpowering. Very glad we found this place and can't wait to come back again. read more

No. The tableside guac cart did not move the entire time we were thereabd one guy used it one time to make quac and then took it to a table I could not see. If you know Los Dos, that cart never collects dust, they are know for thier tableside guac; it is normally always in service. PATHETIC!!!! None of us will ever be back. We may not patronize the original location at Holly or Kipling and C470 again. This is NOT the Los Dos the family started years ago and that we fell in love with. Sad and pathetic! I heard they have a new bartender at the Holly location and the margaritas are aweful. Go to Caddy Snack Cantina, great service, food, drinks, and much better prices. And you aren't run out after having just at down. I gave this one star as the food was fine. Not great, but edible. Marcus was awful!!!!!

But some restaurants want to stay humble as they want to stay away from the spotlight so I get it. In a way, this is my neighborhood sushi restaurant that I can count on. Small and yet clean tidy ambience is always appreciated. I always do takeouts; I don't think I have never dined here to be frank. They provided complimentary donuts at the end of the meal which we very much enjoyed. The only negative was that it was too hot inside the restaurant. It was around 78-degrees inside on a 95-degrees day. The temperature inside made us want to finish up quickly and go somewhere with better AC.

Let me preface this by saying this is a very hard rating and review to give. This is one of my absolute favorites for tacos. The food is amazing and the service staff is incredible. The management however, leaves so much to be desired. I moved away from Denver a year ago, and came back for a work event. Brought my clients here for lunch and one of them went to use the hand sanitizer that the restaurant provides. It had clearly never been cleaned and had clogged. So when she pushed the pump, a stream of alcohol based sanitizer went directly in her eye. She immediately went to the bathroom to rinse it, but none of the staff moved to do anything...not to apologize or help her or anything! There was zero effort to make up for anything. We didn't need everyone's food comped but it would have been a real customer service gesture to have taken just hers off the charges. Yet nothing was done. I walked across the street to Walgreens to get eyewash so she could completely rinse it. Any alcohol will burn the cornea and can cause blindness. I asked to speak with the manager (SO not a Karen btw) in charge who didn't speak a word of english so had to call the manager who does speak english. Her name is Erica and I have to say in all my 55 years on earth, I have never been so deeply disappointed in a businesses response to something like this. Call me crazy but at a bare minimum, someone should have been apologetic and at least asked what they could do! The lack of consideration for others, the lack of giving a f**k about anyone or anything in this city now is why I left. I can say this cemented my belief that Denver is a failed experiment in how to run a city and this restaurant is a good example of how NOT to do customer service. I came here for lunch hoping it was a good spot based off the reviews. I had the chicken burrito and churro. The chicken burrito comes with rice, beans, cheese and what I thought green chile as the menu states; however I was bathed an extra $2 for it. The burrito was tasteless and I didn't even think there was green chile in it. Also the whole thing is pretty much the tortilla of the burrito after I unfolded everything, hardly anything was in it. The chicken was bland like it was just boiled in plain water which I thought it would have been grilled chicken but it wasn't. I only give it a two star because the churro was really good. I would have had better good with flavor if I would have just went to Chipotle or Qdoba unfortunately. The parking lot is also a mess so this trip wasn't worth it and I probably won't be back unfortunately. read more
