I was craving sushi so I called Sachi for take out. There is no inside dining right now, there is a little station up front to pick up your food and pay. I got udon, California roll, spider roll, miso soup and they threw in edamame. It was so delicious. My daughter and I devoured all the food and both agreed that we had really been missing eating sushi. The food was on time, delivered hot, And the staff there is always so nice. We've gone prior to Covid and it's a lovely experience for indoor dining. When we have sushi cravings we will definitely call Sachi for take out. read more

I have eaten here a few time and it has always been very good. I live in San Ramon and have visited almost every sushi place to find what I would consider the best tasting sushi and I have come to the conclusion that Sachi Sushi is the best. While it may not be the most eloquent restaurant, it does provide the best food. They are very kind and respectful and do a good job getting the food out in a timely manner. Every roll that I have tried has been very flavorful and a good proportion of fish in the roll. The prices are also fair and I have found it to be cheaper than places around it. read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk by, but on a friends birthday she decided to show me just how amazing this sushi restaurant really is! I am vegan, so at first I didn't think I could eat anything there, but then I found a whole PAGE of vegetarian/vegan options, and I decided to try the Shitake Maki and the second I tried it, my mouth DROPPED. I was in awe of how mouth watering their sushi is. So, to sum it up, I love Sachi Sushi and I 100% recommend trying it. read more

I like Sachi Sushi's rolls and location, but the service always makes me a little hesitant to come here. This time, I came here with family for a birthday lunch on a Friday. As a note, the parking can get really crowded during lunchtime, especially on Fridays, so come early if possible. The restaurant was decently busy, with maybe one or two spare spaces in the entire restaurant around noon. The decor inside is friendly and casual, with booth seating, a sushi bar, and separate tables towards the front. When we walked in, we waited for at least five minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. I had been here for dinner previously, and the same thing had had happened, so unfortunately it doesn't seem to be an infrequent occurrence. After we were seated, it took another five minutes or so for a waitress to come and take our drink orders. We ordered rolls from the dinner menu, and the kitchen seemed to be bustling with mostly preparations for the lunch specials as well as take-out orders, so it was at least 20minutes before our orders came. During the remainder of the time while we were eating, our waitress was really prompt at refilling our tea cups, even without our having to ask, and I really appreciated that. The tea here is stronger than a lot of the tea I've had at other places, and it really has that nice seaweed aroma in the aftertaste. The rolls we ordered were: Ichiban Roll: This has ebi tempura on the inside, along with avocado and snow crab meat and is topped with tempura crunch and sauce. While this roll was good, it wasn't anything super special. The breading on the tempura was a little bit thick for my taste, but the avocado was the perfect ripeness and the snow crab was definitely fresh. The tempura crunch on top was a little heavy, but the portion of it was generous. I'd have preferred a little bit less teriyaki sauce on top though. Tootsie Roll: This was my parents' favorite of the four rolls we ordered. The salmon was fried perfectly and wasn't too dry, and the green onion inside lent a freshness to the salmon. Sachi Roll: I really liked the spicy scallop on top of this roll; it was chopped into small pieces and mixed with a spicy sauce, but I wasn't such a big fan of the actual unagi inside the roll. I was craving unagi, but unfortunately this unagi was a little bit soggy and tasted more fishy than unagi I've had at other places. Super Dynamite Roll: This is the first time I've ever seen deep-fried spicy hamachi in a roll, so of course I had to try it. The kick of the spiciness was definitely more than I was expecting, but overall it was a good roll. There are two types of sauces drizzled over top, and I believe one of them is sriracha and another is a mixture of some creamy sauce and a spicy one. If you're looking to make the roll a little lighter (because the whole thing is actually fried, so it's a pretty heavy roll), I would maybe ask them to forego the drizzles. It's not really necessary since you already have the spiciness from the hamachi inside and the wasabi tobiko on top. Overall, this was a pretty good meal. The portions are fair for the price, and even if some of the rolls are a dollar or two more than I would expect, I think the range is still reasonable. It's just the service I have qualms about, but maybe I'll try going when they're not so busy. read more

I have been going to Sachi Sushi with my family since I was little kid so this place has a special place in my heart. I also am a sushi enthusiast and I can say full heartedly that this spot is my absolute favorite place to dine. The quality of the fish is impeccable and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend the combination dinner and getting the sushi option with the teriyaki chicken. I also love the cha soba which is a unique option you don't see at many places. The sake don is also incredible if you are looking for a great amount of fish for a good price. They are a mom and pop shop that have thankfully made it through the pandemic. Take your coworkers for their great lunch prices, or the family for a delicious night out! read more

Have only been here for lunch. Sushi is a bit overpriced compared to other places, but I like their bento box combos for lunch! It's worth it and you get a lot for what you pay for. Complimentary edamame here too! For the bento box, you pick two things (like chicken teriyaki or chicken katsu or tempura, etc.) and it also comes with miso soup, salad, and rice. Not a bad deal! It's never been super crowded when I've been at lunch - seated immediately. Service is quick and food comes out just as quick. read more

Ordered the CA crunch roll for lunch. They have discounted rolls during lunch, however the prices are still high for the quality. I felt like my roll was decent, but I've had much better. It was just under $10 before tip. I could get a Pad Thai for the same price right next door, which is a lot more filling. read more

Open for takeout during the shelter in place! It's conveniently located nearby. I've also been there a few times before the shelter in place and their new renovations are lovely. Food wise, I've tried their bento box combos. Their chicken teriyaki is good. I especially like their CA roll that comes with the bento. It's fresh and it doesn't come with a bunch of mayo, which is a nice change every now and then. Their miso soup is also really tasty. For sushi, I have tried their Ichiban Roll, which is basically crab meat and shrimp tempura, with extra crispy tempura flakes on top along with unagi sauce. This one is tasty! My only thing is that it is pretty pricey for what you get and compared to other sushi restaurants. But I think the food is good and it's the best local place within 5-10 minutes away for the bento box combos. read more

Unfortunately the service levels have actually declined during the pandemic even though there are no tables to serve. Phone orders may take 90 minutes to process, and the cashier seems indifferent. Sushi orders sit unrefrigerated on table next to door when it is 110 outside. Not good! We have supported these guys for years but maybe time to consider other choices with longtime staff gone. read more

This is literally my neighborhood sushi spot. I would say it's convenient, easy and delicious! I wish the prices were a bit affordable, but I wouldn't wanna sacrifice quality, in comparison to fat fish in Pleasanton. I usually order the basic rolls - and their udon is pretty good! Dinner prices are bit high! read more

Good spot for lunch, but unfortunately they recently raised prices (significantly) on their bento boxes. Prior to the price increase my wife and would go and spend about $45 with tip and tax on two lunch bento boxes. After we went in this past week, the same two bento boxes that cost about $45 with tax and tip in November, were now $57 with tip and tax. I understand the need to increase prices, but 25-30% increase on something that already wasn't cheap will keep us from coming in the future. read more

Spicy tuna roll is average. Deep friend spicy tuna below average. Asked for extra Wasabi, when I got there, was assured it was already in the container with my rolls. One roll didn't even come with wasabi or ginger at all. Poor service. Mediocre food. Would not return. Senro & Ukai are both much better all around. read more

Customer service: Bad bad bad. The young lady tried to resolve my issue and had she refunded me for my rancid fish (aka hand roll) everything would've been fine. However the manager/owner called me back to tell me that the machine doesnt allow her to do refunds. Terrible shame that they've gone thru the remodel and spent all that money. Furthermore it's too bad their customer service sucks and unfortunately that won't keep this business open for long... Food: Very poor fish quality. Poke hand roll. Sounds simple right? Well apparently this establishment makes poke with what we thought was tuna but apparently they use some mystery white fish that they pawn off as tuna. I called to explain to her that the fish is white and not red (even pink) as most raw tuna is.... further tried to explain that the fish went bad and she rebutted by trying to tell me that it was "taste of sesame oil".... I know what bad fish is lady and oh, btw I'm Korean so I know better than you what sesame oil is supposed to taste like. This type of establishment won't and shouldn't stay in business long. Never going back. read more

This is a good local Japanese restaurant with great lunch deals. It can get busy during lunch hours but the service is quick and satisfactory. For lunch, I got the bento with the grilled mackerel and California roll. It was a perfect portion for lunch and the mackerel was delicious. This is a solid sushi place. Idk why it's not more busy honestly. Food was pretty good and the service was as good as it can be. Got there during happy hour and had a Cali roll, crab stuffed jalapeños, a large Asahi and a hot sake. Proceeded to get a dinner bento, a dragon roll, two orders of hamachi nigiri, another hot sake, and a another large Asahi. Turned out to be just under 90$. Not bad. Economical place to get lunch to eat. We came here during a weekday and got served quickly and efficiently. I got the bento box with the saba shioyaki and the ton katsu (fried pork). The flavor was alright though the ton katsu was pounded so thin there was more breading than meat. The serving size was good for a lunch at $12 a box. read more

Frustrating service. Ordered shrimp shumai as I do not eat pork. What was brought to the table was clearly not shrimp (had gristle in it). I asked the waitress several times to verify with the chef. She kept repeating that they don't make it in-house and purchase the shumai from the restaurant store. She never asked the chef. Her attitude about it was poor. Won't return...and hope I'm not sick all night. read more

I've been hesitant to go to sushi restaurants in San Ramon but dinner was free (business dinner). Sachi doesn't have the bizarre, nightclub decor of Miraku but looks rather non-descript inside. The sushi bar is up front and the wooden booths provide privacy. Cold towelettes are provided on the table. The menu is typical, with appetizers, nigiri sushi, rolls (nothing too crazy), noodles, teriyaki, sashimi, and sukiyaki. The lunch menu features lower prices. Roast pork ramen is $9.50 on the lunch menu and $12.95 on the dinner menu. Dinner started with a bowl of cold, steamed edamame. Complimentary green tea is available upon request. I had the roast pork ramen ($12.95, expensive) with 1/2 a boiled egg, bamboo shoots, napa cabbage, roast pork, and thinly sliced fish cakes in a "miso" broth. The broth was very cloudy and white/pale. It tasted like they forgot the miso. The roast pork slices were small, dark and thin. The quality of the roast pork just wasn't very good. Having so much napa cabbage in the ramen was also weird. The noodles were fine - slightly curly and not overcooked. The portion seemed generous but that might be because I didn't want to eat much of it. Good service: they refilled my cup of tea many times. Hmm, I like Miraku better than Sachi but Miraku is so weird looking inside. read more

We have not been back to Sachi Sushi since it just opened. The other night we decided to give it another try. Run of the mill fish available, Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Halibut. I did order the the Nabeyaki Udon and that was good. The pot it came in was huge with the tempura on the side. We ordered the Ama Ebi, the heads were from a much bigger shrimp then the bodies. Service was excellent but the sushi was just OK. read more

Sachi Sushi is located in an adorable brick shopping center sprinkled with multiple ethnic restaurants. This particular restaurant, as is more and more common, closes between prime lunch and dinner hours. I had a dinner experience. The atmosphere within is pretty relaxed. The decor is challenging to describe but suffice it to say that it is well above average. If I remember correctly ( and I don't think I do) I had the Sashimi Regular. Do not order this unless you are famished! Fortunately, I was. It had been a long day at work. This entails: Salad Miso Soup Edamame 14 pieces of raw fish It was simply picturesque and delicious. I simply had to try their tempura ice cream. It was nice but in no way compares to what Matsu Sushi serves. In summary, I would enjoy another visit to Sachi. Update: If I could deduct a half star for service I would. I agree that the service can be excellent. When i went this past Thursday I got the distinct feeling they were trying to rush me out. Ironically, there were only about 4 other customers occupying 2 other tables. It was dinner time but ter certainly was no dinner rush. I wasn't taking up prime real-estate. *shrug* read more

I live in Richmond and I had a client in the area so I thought that I should have lunch here since I've been craving sushi. I decided to get takeout, I called in and I ordered the spider roll and the dragon roll. The staff was very nice and the aesthetic of the restaurant was really easy on the ehr but the food wasn't really all that. I love sushi and I always get the dragon roll wherever I go, I know that sometimes the taste varies depending on who makes it but this dragon roll didn't taste like a dragon roll AT ALL. it was too bland for me. The spider roll was a lot better but could be crunchier. Will come back again one day to see if the other rolls will be better. read more

While sitting at my table after ordering, I read a review because I was checking in and it was pretty accurate! The food was pretty good, but the service wasn't too great. We walked in like an hour before closing time, so they were cleaning up a little which is understandable. When ordering, we weren't offered drinks. Then, while eating, they brought our check and came back a second time and asked us to pay first while we were eating. Did not leave too happy. read more

For instance, the "king salmon" was "sad" salmon and garnished with some kind of orange marmalade-bizarre and gross. I had to choke down the "Wagyu" nigiri because it was so chewy. I couldn't believe how bad it all was. I should have known the dinner was doomed after I ordered their "Crab amuse," which was three pieces ($18!!) of shredded IMITATION crab wrapped in the thinnest piece of tuna you've ever seen, then placed in a weird, sweet cream sauce. Even the miso soup (which I've never received with nigiri omakase, but ok) was barely room temperature and totally watered down. Sorry, Ukai. I have no idea how your reviews are so high, but you have no business operating as a "sushi" bistro or whatever you want to call yourself. Sigh.

Perfect atmosphere, a blend of chic and casual, cozy but also classy. A mix of mom and pop retro plus stylish and trendy that shouldn't work but does. Comfortable banquette seating. Tiny, only about 8 tables with seating for about 2 dozen people. Love the color scheme of medium brown (walnut?) wood, sage green padded seats and warm gold tableware. A shelf filled with books lines the walls over the banquettes. Windows only cover the top half of the walls on 2 sides but they run the whole length of the dining room. This makes it light and airy but also sheltered, with privacy from passerby. Cooks in the kitchen are very skilled. Well curated recipes using the best quality ingredients. Food is very tasty. Only 1 item that I personally didn't care for, the non-spicy tteobokki. And that's only because a surfeit of shitake mushrooms give me a headache from too much umami. Other dishes that contained less shitake didn't bother me. But the standouts are fab. Absolutely loved the fried cheese balls, ever so slightly sweet like mochi and stretchy like mozzarella. Only wish it came with a sauce to cut thru the richness. Also loved the japchae. Preferred the beef over the chicken. Beef was super tender. Both versions had lots of tender but crisp veggies and sweet potato glass noodles. Another fave was the pancake. No skimping on the filling. So yummy. Ordered the veggie but got the seafood by mistake. Staff was very gracious and made the veggie version, gifting me the seafood one gratis. The dolsot with the short ribs was another winner. Lots of veggies. The short ribs were a few extra $. Very lightly seasoned, add gochujang pepper paste to taste. For me loved it as is. But don't get me started on the prize at the bottom of the screaming hot stone bowl. Perfectly crispy rice crust, golden brown but not burned. Delish. Finally the banchan were all excellent, especially the carrots, fishcakes, and sprouts. Didn't care for the hot soup but only because it is currently the height of summer with temps ranging from 99 to 104! The Napa cabbage kimchi appears to be a staple. All other banchan seem to rotate. This time we ordered the Pork Katsu, Spicy Topokki, Cheese Balls, and Dumpling Soup. Everything was good--until we got to the Topokki. At first I thought something in the dish tasted off. I tried the rice cakes again, and they tasted perfectly fine. I even wondered if maybe my taste buds were just off that day. Then my daughter said, "Something tastes weird." A moment later, my wife said the same thing. So we started tasting the ingredients one by one. Suddenly my daughter said, "Eww," and held up a piece of cabbage on her spoon, asking me to smell it. My wife, who was sitting next to her, smelled it first and immediately said the cabbage had gone bad. I'm particularly sensitive to spoiled food because I have frequent stomach issues. In fact, my family teases me because I habitually smell food before eating it. When I smelled the cabbage, I immediately agreed--it had the unmistakable smell of spoiled cabbage. I quietly called our server over and discreetly (so no other tables can hear) explained the situation. I wasn't trying to make a scene. I simply wanted the kitchen to know so they could check the cabbage and make sure no other customers were served it. I specifically asked them to smell the piece that was still sitting on my daughter's spoon. A few minutes later, someone who appeared to be the owner or manager came over. Instead of acknowledging the possibility, she confidently told us, loudly enough that nearby tables could hear, that the chef had checked it and that the cabbage was fine. She suggested the smell was simply from the sauce mixed with the cabbage. That response was honestly disappointing and insulting. My wife and I are both Korean and in our 50s. We've eaten countless Topokki dishes over our lifetimes. We know the difference between fermented flavors and cabbage that has gone bad. I wasn't looking for free food or even an apology. Restaurants make mistakes--that happens. Food occasionally slips through despite everyone's best efforts. What matters is how those situations are handled. I actually wanted this restaurant to succeed. It's new, it's close to my office, and after my first visit I was already recommending it to family and planning to return regularly. A simple, "We're sorry. We'll check it," would have been enough. Instead, they immediately and loudly dismissed our concern. It's unfortunate, because the food itself was quite good. But after the way this was handled, I don't see myself coming back.

There were six of us, so we had three appetizers, four entrees and a dessert. Impressive plating! He visited us at the table to ensure everyone was happy. As you may know from my reviews, the experience is more important to me than the food. Given that this is a "mall restaurant!," I was blown away! For years, Sachi Sushi, has been our family's go to Japanese Restaurant. Years. Like others have stated. Fresh. I realize, like a lot of places, it has had to change due to COVID. We stayed loyal, and did take-out and deliveries. We're a family of 5 and appetites have increased as each child got older, so the check has gotten bigger too. The price, I felt was absolutely worth it. Happy to support them, so they can continue to operate in the community. Not any more! Tonight was complete joke. We got seated quickly, followed by two other families with young kids and a few other parties. I was surprised how quickly they were allowing the tables to fill up considering there wasn't much of wait staff. Food was good, but ruined by the enormous lack of customer attention and service. Missing items and really late items. The party that got seated last, was served first. The inexperience of the female server, caused her to provide service to them first and neglect the families that arrived earlier. What the hell is wrong with you?!!! Multiple times, we had to flag or walk up to staff to get things they failed to provide. A family that arrived just before us, got up and left. I doubt they'd ever come back. Over the course of the evening it was clear the night was a train wreck. It was made crystal clear to me by the male server who was in a unfortunate role of host, server, and mobile-order full-filler. This guy was who I ultimately complained to about how they allowed to screw shit up. All he did was verbalize an apology, explain their predicament in a tone of voice that was defensive and made it sound like it was the customers' fault they were so busy and falling behind so there is nothing he could do about it. Well that didn't work with me. But that was exactly what happened. Nothing happened. They were fine with the fact that they chose to serve the loud man who arrived last because the server was to weak to say you can wait your turn after tables before him got their orders in. They were fine with the fact that they caused families with kids, to leave. We should have too. They were fine not making things right. Saying sorry doesn't make it right. Give shitty service, then apologies, only to continue to suck. Hey! Sushi wouldn't tasted out of this world, if it weren't for them just not giving a damn about people. It's us and the other parties' fault they can't provide great service. For fuck's sake! It doesn't take a lot to save the customer. Say you fucked-up royally. We'd like to knock at item off your bill, maybe a free scoops of ice cream for the kids, free tootsie roll candy. But you don't. You anxiously give the bill, I don't tip. Although pricey. This by far is the best Sushi house in San Ramon. My fish is always fresh; the japanese soda and towels for your hands are lovely! Those 2 shouldn't fit be in the same sentence but this isn't a grammar session. This is Yelp. My waiter/waitress situation always confuses me though here as someone starts the table and someone else finishes it? Maybe just my luck. I always order the Rainbow Roll; Dragon Roll and the Spider Roll. The fried crab is delicious on the Spider roll. The kids plates are big with lots of food; almost enough for Dad to nibble on after he's eaten all his! All in all. I love this place. Open upstairs! This place was rather funny, the waiter came once to take our order, left and never EVER came back! the food was handed to us by the sushi chef, my titanic roll was good and so it was the dragon, but we had no drinks until we were done eating, when a different waitress brought us the bill, we asked her for some water. I used to come here on every week because Sachi Sushi has the tempura ice cream I love. Sachi has become my favorite recently, the food is perfect and the service is awesome!!! If you want to try a Japanese restaurant, go for a Saba and red tuna. Saba is most hardest fish to take care in Japanese dish! But here, Saba is juicy and clear. 5 star! Red tuna, please check the curt. Perfect. And someone will say fresh or not fresh, come on, this is SF and you doubt the fish is not fresh? 5star! My brother takes his wife and his kid here all the time. They love this place. They say the service is very friendly and the food is really good. My brother says that they usually sit in the back section and they let their 4 year old son play back there while they eat sushi. I decided to try it too. He was right. Very nice. I always come to Sach Sushi, their food is good, I like their sashimi and dynaimte roll. However, I have to wait for a long time for my food to come. My dinning appertie in this restaurant is gone... The chinese chefs talking so loud and sometimes with bad words.... I have kids I would rather take it togo. read more

This place isn't very good at all. The fish seems old and the service isn't great either. I was completely underwhelmed and it was expensive. Usually I leave Sushi place and feel great saying, "That was awesome" because it's my favorite. But NOT this time. read more
