Yesterday stopped by a very professional salesman for Saela pest control and I am astonished by the work done. They stopped by around 1:10 and left around 3:15. I hadn't seen a single insect, bug, or ant and we had a good amount of ants. I was even more impresses by the fact the when nighttime came and we used the porch lights, there were still no insects, not a single spider, cobweb, egg sac. Even the evil wasp nest that bugged me every morning is gone. Again thank you for stopping by because these bugs were getting out of hand and I didn't know what to do. We were visited by their sales rep who was absurdly aggressive. We told him that we already have a service company, he would not take no for an answer. He kept attempting to sign us up. Finally he asked if he could use the bathroom and tried to place ants there and tell us he would service them immediately. I told him that i was aware of this tactic done by sales guys and that he needed to immediately leave the house. This company has very shady business practices and would not recommend them. They need to trust in the service and have their customers spread the word. Because having. I called them to get a squirrel out of my attic and their solution was to close the hole, lock the squirrel in my walls and wait for it to die and to call them when it began to stink???? SERIOUSLY!! WTF!...and the worst part, charged me $700 and refused to give me a refund. Someone from Saela knocked on our door to offer an intro rate on pest control services and used a super aggressive sales pitch. I said we weren't interested several times and he wouldn't leave or stop talking until I literally walked inside the house. I wouldn't trust any company that either encourages these sales tactics or puts such pressure on their employees that they feel the need to use them. read more

When this company was Edge it was affordable and somewhat efficient. However now Saela came two weeks ago and sprayed. I get up Sunday morning and my kitchen is like an anthill. Of course they no longer have emergency service on Sunday so I am trying to shepherd ants away from my food and my dog. I couldn't even go to church. I had been drinking a flavored seltzer water so I put it down for a minute on the living room end table, and tried to corral the kitchen ants in one area where I have now put up ant gel. Yesterday, technician left gate open and dogs escaped for 3 hrs. Tech did not perform all duties as well (sweeping and rodent control) Initial service tech sprayed for ants and wasps, a week later the ants and wasps were still there. Tech came out again. sprayed the same wasp nests. I told him we still had the ants. He said call in two weeks and they would come back out. ( I went to the store, bought 20 Mule Team Borax and placed on the area were the ants resided....within 24 hours no more ants. Still have wasps Tech came out the3rd time and sprayed. NADA.... I final loaded a couple of cans of wasp killer on to the nest areas. Now there is no activity. So...why am I paying $150/mo??? Recommend you use another company! read more

Tech came out for a crawl space evaluation. Told me I had a serious rodent problem. would cost me 4600 to replace insulation, clean, etc (down from 5600). It started with a hornets nest that I needed removed. I tried treating it myself, but needed professional help. I called Saela and they quickly came out and took care of the nest - problem solved. As part of this service they gave me paperwork to sign that turned out to be a 2-year recurring service contract. I read the details, so I knew what I was signing, but it struck me as sneaky. Clearly, they are doing this to others who probably don't read the fine-print. I decided to give it a try to see if it helped with in-house spiders (I was just curious if it would help). Over the next year and a half, Saela would come out and spray around my foundation and clear spider webs outdoors. Not surprisingly, the treatment didn't do anything. No big deal. I decided to cancel my service. I was getting tired of receiving texts and calls from Saela telling me that they were coming out and that they had new products and services to sell me. I looked on their site to see if there was an easy way to end my service. No such luck, so I called them. The gentleman on the phone was polite but conveyed confusion why I would want to cancel my service. After a couple rounds of offering my a discount (so they could have charged me less?), I stepped in and told him I just wanted to cancel all service. To do that, he transferred me to a manager. The manager pulled the "you signed the contract" card and told me there would be a cancelation fee of half the value of the remaining treatments on the 2-year schedule. Again, I read the contract and this cancelation maneuvering wasn't clear from my initial reading. It must have been buried deep in the fine-print. Because I didn't want to deal with this company any more and risk forgetting to cancel an auto-renewal (which could only be done by telling them after the final treatment of the contract period), I decided to accept the cancelation fee. The manager did not handle the cancelation over the phone, but instead sent me an invoice to my email address and ended the call. This place is out to take advantage of people who aren't paying close enough attention. Clearly, the only pest here is Seala. The spiders are welcome to stick around and take care of any other pests. Nothing worth filing a serious complaint about (I did sign the contract after all), but this is just a lousy way to run a business. read more

Sales Rep failed to mention the 50% contract cancellation fee. When I did try to cancel by phone, I was shunted from one person to another, each of whom kept trying to convince me to stay with them. Two phone hours later I was finally able to get them to cancel and send me my penalty payment invoice...$400.00. BTW, the reason I canceled was the treatments were completely ineffective. The technician Ethan was very friendly and performed a fantastic job on our home. I was surprised at the affordability considering we receive full protection on our home. Not only does Saela treat the outside of the house but they include the inside for free as well. WARNING!!!! What a TERRIBLE experience we had with Jacob!!! He hard-sold, was pushy, gushing with false friendliness and "I'll do this for you just today, don't tell anyone...", I'm doing a number of your neighbors today. He changed details after we gave our credit card. When we called him on this, he insisted he told us all the details, and there were 3 of us ADULTS there who heard him. This is not acceptable in our development, to go door to door bothering people. I reported him to security and security said another person called as well. Security drove around to try to find him. I will call the company too. I'm shocked at the behavior and ethics of this company. I also don't trust he removed our Credit Card number, and will check with credit card company next. Photos attached are entry points that the Saela techs missed for years "servicing" my home. I'm so frustrated with them and their lack of accountability/refusal to refund for any of the work they didn't do. We have an infestation at this point, have had to have duct cleaning, insulation replacement and crawlspace renovation. The techs that came to do that work said they suspect we've been dealing with a rodent problem for the entire 5 years we've lived in our house (and we've been working with Edge/Saela) to visit the home and check for entry points every 4 weeks the entire time. Deceptive billing practices. Advised the man who was to spray that service was no longer needed. He "contacted" his service manager advising that I needed one more treatment as part of my "package". I had actually completed my package. They doubled-billed me for this service and one next quarter out ($288 total). By the time I received notification of the service (after trespassing and now spraying another owner's yard), they advised that I hadn't contacted their service manager per contract. While I can't get my money back - at least I can be a warning to others to not use their service. Yes, they can quote "the contract", but who remembers a couple of years after signing up that you couldn't trust any of their representatives on the phone except for their "service manager" to cancel services??? read more

I requested estimates for a pest control job through a referral service. I did not select Saela Pest Control in that process, but they somehow still received my contact information without my knowledge, from that inquiry. I received 5 phone calls and 2 text messages from this company within the next couple of hours. I even blocked the numbers, and still received phone calls. Overly aggressive sales tactics are a HUGE red flag and I would never even consider hiring them for that reason only, regardless of what their reviews are (and there are many poor ones).
