I used Home Advisor to find the name of some reputable pest control companies for a problem I'm having. One of the three names they gave me was Edge. Within minutes of getting their name at 9am, I was bombarded with phone calls. 5 phone calls in 10 minutes! But when you pick up, there is no one there. I blocked the number. They kept trying. They started texting me. By 1pm and the third text message where they said I "did not get back to them from the other day", I had had enough. I told them that they don't offer the service I am looking for and even if they did, I will never hire them because they are worse than any pest problem. I have now blocked them everywhere. IGNORE THEIR GOOGLE REVIEWS, READ YELP or BBB --- Nice service people but please know what you're getting yourself into. I hired them for a rodent service. While they did spray for insects, this wasn't my main concern. In reality, they are trap setters and trap maintainers, that's it. I was never set up with a person to come and look at/fix the holes in the house where the rodents were getting in despite 3 weeks of the service man promising me that appointment would be set up through Edge. This would have been extra, which I get, but was also a little bummed about. There were no "immediate" or "temporary" fixes to small holes where mice were getting in once they were discovered. I was told on the sales call that after my fourth visit, they would ask me if I wanted to continue the quarterly rodent service and spraying. I wasn't asked by the serviceman (very nice guy, though). So I called to cancel after that visit only to find that I was now entered into an annual contract for $120 a quarter and I had 3 quarters left. If I wanted to cancel, it would cost $280 to cancel. WHAT THE HECK?! I wanted them to help me with a rodent issue (temporary fixes, set me up with someone to fix the holes and maintain rodents while that happened). I only got the latter, someone helping me maintain rodents with traps. THAT'S IT. For $450. And now I'm in a contract I can't get out of. I really really don't understand how companies can continue to take advantage of customers. In addition, the servicemen didn't seem to know where my traps were. I had to point them in the direction each time there was someone new. Unfortunately, this IS a pest control company that will trick clients into signing contract agreements. This company is deceitful. A salesman came to my house and only told me about the $80 up front and $60 every 3 months but never told me about an extra $119 charge after 28 days, which I only found out today when I checked my bank account transaction. A guy named Jared told me that it is in the contract, a contract which to me is bogus because why did the sales person not mention the extra $119 charge. I demanded to cancel the service and the guy named Jared was adamant to keep the contract telling me he can give a discount the next time. I told him I did not have time to read the contract because I trusted the sales person when he told me that everything he told me was what I was signing for. SUCH A BIG LIE!!! I now have flies, mosquitos, spider webs in my eves, slugs on my patio, and ants in my retaining wall. I called and said it was extra for fly service, bait stations, grass protection and eeve coverage. The price ended up being more than the quoted without these services and I got charged twice in the same month. It was $400 to cancel. Great logo and marketing, at first glance, this is a good business. When something is not routine and perhaps you need follow-up for a service they assert is timely and necessary... they are a black box. They will bill you though... even for the service they did not perform, which they knew needed to be rescheduled. Once you pull back the curtain, deal with 'corporate' then the 'local' EDGE branch, you see the "bugs" skitter, including blatant lying and some weird type of ego trip. We used Edge service from when the house was built. It has been a year and a home inspector found droppings in the crawlspace. Basically, what they do doesn't work. Don't waste your money with their service. I cancelled the service and they are charging a hefty fee for early termination when the termination is due to them failing for what they promised. But I just had to since one of their people terrorized our neighborhood yesterday. This guy rings my doorbell and I know he is selling so I point to the no soliciting sign. Of course he says he's not soliciting but just has a question for me. I say no and he keeps going. I close the door in his face and he knocks on my door! I demand that he get off my property. Then the neighborhood emails start rolling in about this aggressive guy coming to doors. He would not leave one woman alone and another male neighbor had to intervene. We hired them to get a small paper wasp hive removed from our front porch, but now we have a bunch of human pests trespassing and harassing us for no apparent reason. Beware of their aggressive sales people wondering from door to door in your neighborhood. Here is our experience, they rang our door bell and insisted on coming inside of our home to make a sales pitch. They would go as far as asking to use a toilet just to get inside of your house then refuse to leave until you listen to their pitch. After signing up for a one year contract, which is 4 services, minimum package they said, these people started to drop my house unannounced! Some mornings, I came downstairs, and there they are, parked in the middle of my driveway, parked me in so I couldn't leave my house on time for my day. Or worse, I'd be half dressed in my own house, and I look out of my window, a random man is walking the grounds of my backyard! Please note, sales person looked normal and average, but the service people look like convicts who just broke out of jail. When we called their office to make a complaint about how intrusive they were, the employee became very argumentitive and unprofessional, he kept calling my cell and argued that they had the right to enter whenever they showed up, even left me multiple voicemails just to continue on with his rant! Lastly, after our contract had ended and after our repeat requests to be left alone, they are now insisting breaking entry onto our property to perform additional unwanted service! Unbelievable. I signed up after a young man approached me outside my home (although I had no soliciting signs in plain view). I did not feel like I needed the service, I saw one spider in my home and took care of it. The sales guy was nice, but I felt pressured to sign up. So after the guy came to do the service that day (he was also nice), I decided that I really did not need a pest control company when I had no issues in my home (worth some $700). So within my 3 days I drove to the Auburn branch where another person was trying everything for me to not cancel despite repeatedly saying I dont have a bug problem. I read other reviews and it sounded like they are not as generous if you need to break your contract, so I absolutely wanted out of it while I can. Then he basically said, he wanted to provide work for the guys and I'm thinking, so you want me to sign up for a problem I dont have to give away my money just to give people jobs? The guys were nice and I wish them well... but that is so ludicrous. It's the most awkward thing. I dont understand why a pest control company is so aggressive. . It seems like most of their issues surround their contract. Maybe if they made it much cheaper, do it monthly and if people have major issues then they pay a little more to have it resolved. Service has been regular for us but now there's another black hole for my voice mail messages. I tried from 8am today - left 3 messages and then got somebody to chat with me and gave me another number to call which I also had to leave a voicemail at. How come nobody answers the phone? This happened before and then we were on for awhile and now again nobody answers. It's hard to manage this service for a HOA - as I need to coordinate with the other units and it really stinks when nobody answers. This is one of the most insane experiences I have ever been through with a service company. As a high volume real estate broker, i do 30-40 transactions a year, could've been a fantastic referral source for these people but that will never, ever happen. Because: I had 4 'services' left on my contract but I sold and moved from the house I lived in to another house in king county. They stated they can't come to the new house I bought so in order for me to cancel the last 4 services they would charge me for them. They charged me for services that are not being completed, because I sold the house and moved and would have gladly had them over at the new house. Yet they don't service the new house even though it's in the same county and only 7-8 miles away. Hired Edge because of good timing. My fiance was being stung by wasps and they came to our door minutes later for a (cold) sales call. We hired them on the spot and signed pricey 1yr contract. A couple months after hiring them we had German Cockroaches show up in our home. Never seen these before. We let Edge know and they sent their teck into our home several times over about 5 months. They could NOT remove the bugs. I hired a family pest control guy and he treated our home ONE time and the bugs disappeared. After letting them know I was not happy living with these bugs for 5 months, and there methods were ineffective, I told them I wanted to cancel my contract due to dissatisfaction with the service. This was 4 months ago and I still get emails, robocalls and dirct calls regarding the $55.00 early termination fee. I do not want to pay this as they did not do there job. I had to hire someone else to do it!! Im on hold with them as I type this to pay their ransom so they don't send me to collections. I would steer clear from this company. They pushed me so far I sent them a letter to cease and desist to stop harassing and visiting my home. Even after that, they have been combing our neighborhood for over a week. Maybe dealing with all the pests and parasites they've become one themselves... To summarize the reviews on Yelp: You will have a good initial service, after a while they will do a sub-par job and betting you don't complain and then make it impossible to cancel. They offer to come out and spray again and again but that's not the answers, clearly. When the ants are back in under a week, your product isn't working or your people aren't applying it where it needs to be. And on that note, their technicians (I use the term loosely) are very young and not thorough in their application. I called on 5/18/20 to setup service for Residential and was given next day 4 hour window appointment. No one called or showed up to do the service. Have called the 800 number several times and reached a Rep once who assured me someone was going to be in contact with me the same day, which never happened. They make you sign an 18 month contract but it's obviously unenforceable since they abandoned their obligation to fulfill their agreement. Most recent issue is that it took a week for them to even return my call about two wasp's nests. Part of the pitch is that "if you see something that needs immediate service, call us and we'll be right there." Not true in our experience. I appreciate the comment, but "taking care of my account" simply means it was closed. Taking care would have been saying "a tech will be out immediately", or "We're sorry you didn't receive the value for which you paid, we'll cover your next service because we appreciate that you've been with us for 2 years." This company has recently changed its name to SAELA. We were customers for years, and last week we got a message saying they were on their way in their scheduled day to come. My husband and I were both home that day. They never came. Surprisingly, we got an email saying that they had just finished our service, but there was no tag on our doorknob indicating they had serviced our home. We have two dogs that would have definitely let us know if they had come. Curiously, we looked back on our Ring security video, and they had in fact NOT come and serviced our home. I emailed SAELA (Edge) and let them know what happened and that my husband would be calling and canceling our service. I received a very curt response letting me know that they had terminated our service and they were "sorry to see us go" and asked me to watch a video (sales pitch for their company) There was no apology for what happened, no offering of what they could do to make it right, or letting me know that they'd look into the issue, nothing. To me this is unexcitable! Bad business. Save your money, go somewhere that values their customers and takes responsibility if they make a mistake. read more

I do not recommend this company. Initially, I was pleased with the service. The service person was a very nice and respectful guy and he did what he was supposed to do. But, be forewarned! If you want to cancel the service, they make it hard as hell to do so and will harass you by robo calls and emails and even if you call to cancel, they will not enter the request, stating that you have to talk to a manager who never calls you back! I deeply regret requesting a quote from this company regarding ants. They quoted a $140 then offered $20 off for $119.99 and they come back in 30 days to treat. Then they would recommend coming back annually. I told them I would call them back. I called them back. I spoke to another sales person and they offer the same services but offer me $10 off for $109 plus tax. After I gave them my credit card number to set up the service call. Then I asked a few more questions and then found the quote left out the cost of the return visit that are not optional so the whole service would be closed to $500. And if I canceled the service after the first treatment I would have to pay 1/2 if the remaining treatments. Red flag. I asked them to delete my information from their system. We agreed to a package service for one year, and received the treatments. We assumed the visits would stop after the year, but they scheduled further visits to treat our property. I got an email on July 25th at 437 pm after service rep left with my reciept and another at 510 pm as a survey check up. Now I was told that they would be back in one month to spray again. It On July 25th at 437pm shows it on the receipt. So August 28th same deal they spray again... email at 808pm saying they just serviced, but then the survey followed the next day. I notice another charge for $142.16 wait what this isn't quarterly. I try to call no answer Sat on hold for 23 minutes before I hung up. Today I call back. I am NOT happy. Yeah short story they don't give a F#$% Long story I am like ok I got charged twice in less than a month... quarterly is 12 weeks... what that about... "well it's in your contract we do that initially"... where??? "Did you watch the video link " ... what video link??? "in the email"... looking at the first email you sent me at 437pm on 25th... "no there was one at 330" no there's not... "Yes there is"... want me to screen shot. "I'll resend it it's your contract you only have 3 days to terminate you contract" well if I didn't receive it then it's not going to uphold not to mention that's shady IJS there are legal and moral obligations then there are semantics... " if you cancel you have to pay remaining 7 visits on contract "... we can't work something out... "no it's a law abiding contract we are a business we are with in our rights" so you would rather me be a pesky upset customer who leaves bad reviews and is unhappy with your company even after I am trying to come to an agreement even knowing I didn't receive a paper or an electronic copy of the contract to dispute... "You must have a filter, it must be in your spam box"... wow just wow. Fast forward call BBB file complaint, leave bad reviews on Yelp, Google, call bank dispute 2nd charge, and block all future charges from my bank even though it cost $30. Honestly I would have been ok with a we get there were some misunderstandings and what can we do to fix this... but that's your problem attitude and shady moral and legal semantic playing games BS isn't going to cut it for me. Violates Washington State law Initiative 713 passed in 2000 prohibits trapping of any animal except mice and rats. I called for an estimate to get rid of a mole (perhaps moles.) They said that they trap them (which kills them.) Then they would dispose of them and aply a chemical deterrent in follow up appointments which we would be contracted for. I said I'd read it is not legal to trap moles in Washington State. Their reply was that they trap them legally. So I decided to get a quote and do more research. They gave me a quote. Then 2 hours later another person called me and said that he could give me a better price if I would schedule for the next day or day after. I said I would consider. Then I did more research and learned that a law ws passed in 2000 (Washington initiative 713) making it illegal to trap any animal in the State of Washington. The only exception is mice and rats. In fact in 2007 a professional mole exterminator was arrested and fined and put out of business for violating that law. A day later a representative from Edge called me again saying that they had even more discounts for me if I would sign up for their 3 month service and schedule for this week. I told them that I was going to go with a company that would gt rid of the moles legally with some chemical deterrents (not taps.) I told them that I know that there is no legal way to trap moles in Washington State and they should know that. I hope people read this and don't do business with this company and I wish there could be something that could be done to report them to the authorities but unfortunately they have to be caught in the act. read more
