He communicated thoroughly and set the right expectations for the scope of work. As promised, I received a phone call from William the technician when the car was ready. During pickup, they were both there to share details of the work. The quality of work was top-tier and their customer service was fantastic. They even went out of their way to make a recommendation for a tinting spot nearby who did a great job as well. If you're looking for a window replacement, these guys are the top notch. we had Safelite come to are home to repair our windshield. the chip was a 1/2" and they tried to repair the chip and cracked our windshield over 6" and then told my wife now it would be over 950$ to rep the windshield. I was very disappointed with the service. never again will I ever use them! read more

Excellent customer service!! They checked in at least 3 times to give me updates on the repair. The staff was friendly and very professional They checked the hardware, cleared the error codes that were maybe making the error Message pop up and performed an updated calibration. UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POST REGARDING SERVICES ON JUNE 2ND AT THE CARLSBAD LOCATION: I took my vehicle to a reliable Toyota service center to get a second opinion about the installation of the replacement of the windshield which Safelite did. I was advised that the glue was not evenly installed which led to the molding around the windshield to fail. This was due to the inadequate workmanship done by Safelite. On Jun 2nd 2026 Safelite denied a warranty request requested based on the assumption of the assistant manager Daniel at the Carlsbad location. the windshield was installed in Feb of 2025. the wind shield molding Is failing. as Dainel stated in his notes to customer care that I used it to get in and out of my vech and the store manager Alfredo agreed with him without further action of looking into It. As a consumer relying on their nationwide guarantee. They continue to deceive folks especially disabled veterans. This location has had many concerns from customers with the same concerns as I do. read more

Windshield replaced on our car. Understood that we'd drop it off and it might not be ready until 5pm. However, as of 3:30pm my security cameras showed the car had not been moved/worked on. We were on a road trip and had to continue our trip the following morning, so was getting very concerned that they might not get to it or forgot since the more than 1ft crack suddenly appeared in the morning. Their number is listed as an 800 number, and it was very painful / a lot of time on the phone to finally get connected with the local shop (horrible process) to confirm they were still planning on doing it. They did eventually get it done. We drove at night so it wasn't until the next morning and hundreds of miles away that we saw that the glass has a blueish/grey haze and is not as clear as our other windows (which all have after-market tinting; even so, it's very noticeable that the new glass is not as clear). Washing the car / exterior of the glass made no difference, and wiping the inside of the glass didn't make any difference either. If it doesn't somehow clear up in the next few days, I'll get to experience what their nationwide warranty support looks like. I also was never given a total price; my insurance has windshield replacement coverage with a $500 deductible so that's what I was quoted/paid. I assumed Safelite would be cheaper than the manufacturer (Tesla) but I've since learned that Tesla actually may be cheaper due to their ability to do the camera-calibration very quickly (which is actually something a tech-savvy owner can do themselves very quickly). If my insurance rates go up because of this, I'm going to be a very unhappy customer. read more

My brand new car had a crack in the windshield and I was given an aftermarket windshield as a replacement by Safelite. When I questioned why, I was told by Daniel, the Asst Mgr that my AAA insurance would only approve that part. After installation, I contacted AAA who told me they definitely would have approved an OEM windshield (more appropriate for a new car) and Safelite should have explained that to me. Safelite is completely denying responsibility, Daniel denies his statement to me and they say in order to get the appropriate windshield installed, a new claim would need to be filed with my insurance...which is impossible as the windshield is not damaged. They misrepresented the situation and refuse to do the right thing to correct it. My advice: go somewhere else! read more

I scheduled and came to Safelite for a 2:30 pm appointment right after a rock chipped my windshield, the receptionist told me it would be $75 out of pocket, i filed a claim with my insurance company in the office which took maybe 5-10 mins, i told him this and he told me to reschedule and come back in 2 days in the morning. So i came back again (at this point the chip became large cracks!) just to be told the glass they had was out of stock and i would have to reschedule again in 2 days! They asked me to come back again but i asked if they can just come to my car to replace it and they scheduled it. Out of frustration I decided to cancel and go with another company. read more

I came here because I have a crack in my windshield. The cost was about $180 for a repair with no guarantee that it will work. However, if the patch fails you can use the money you paid towards a new windshield. As luck would have it, my repair is not working, and the crack is spreading. I'll have to take it back to Safelight to get a new windshield. It makes me wonder if they really work that hard to repair the crack because they get a lot more money if you purchase a new windshield. I'll update this review after the work is done read more

I brought my truck to get my rear window glass replaced and they made me come back 3 different times. weeks apart because they kept having the incorrect parts and the technicians were going on vacation each time so they couldn't do the job. once it was the 3rd time it was in the back and they called me saying they would have to order a different glass and that i would have to remove my truck bed cover for them to replace the glass! safe to say i went somewhere else and got it replaced same day with the motor for the glass working. this is not the first time i've had this happen!! the pricing was also very high for the work being done read more

I came to this location to have my windshield that was improperly-installed by the Miramar location corrected under warranty. I should have come here, for the original work. Everyone at this Carlsbad location was fantastic, from the girl at the desk, to the outstanding technician, to the Manager. What a night-and-day difference from the other location. Professional, caring, and above all, skilled. Joseph is THE guy!! He could not have been more professional, or more skilled/knowledgeable. He did an absolutely perfect job, and knowing the problems from the prior location, kept me in the loop every step of the way. I could not be happier with this staff, they more than made up for my poor experience at the Miramar location. The great experience here wasn't just two very different locations, it was like two completely different companies, entirely. They're that much better, here. Any windshield work I may need in the future will be done here- and I live in La Mesa. Made the appointment online. Appointment was set, my deductible was paid online, and I made arrangements for someone to be with my wife while the technician was here. Safelite called today and said they do not work on vehicles older than 2000. I have used Safelite in the past - the windshield they were to replace was a Safelite windshield. I would not recommend Safelite as their website makes appointments for vehicles the local shop claims they will not do. read more

I recently had the opportunity to utilize Safelite autoglass and I was very happy with the entire process and outcome. I was referred to them by my insurance company since the quoted price was cheaper than my deductible so I didn't need to file a claim through my insurance. I set up an appointment and received emails and text messages with helpful information and reminders. When I arrived the place was empty of customers and the workers were all in the back, very busily working on vehicles. The facility is very clean and sterile looking. There are some chairs and there is a coffee maker. The WiFi did not really work but other than that it was a good experience. The vehicle was ready a little earlier than promised and the work was very good. They also give you instructions about removing the blue safety tape and when you can wash your car. read more

Dealing with technician Anthony (Tony) and assistant "general manager" Danny has been nothing short of a joke. I had my windshield replaced, and it cracked again just nine days later. When I reported this, their "warranty" technician came out, took a quick look, and immediately blamed it on something hitting the glass--refusing to honor the so-called lifetime warranty. Buyer beware: their "lifetime warranty" doesn't actually protect you. It only covers their labor, not the product. So if the windshield fails NINE (9) days after installation, you're out of luck! When I finally spoke with Danny a week after I was told I'd receive a call to discuss this (I had to call and follow up) he was completely uninterested and dismissive. Sorry, Danny--doing your job shouldn't feel like such an inconvenience. Safelite's customer service was no better, making it clear they couldn't care less that I'd be out $1,600 for two back-to-back replacements caused by their cheap product. Bottom line: this shop is a joke, their warranty is a scam, and their customer care is nonexistent. Avoid them at all costs read more

PARKING: Plenty of parking! Plenty of space! SEATING: There is a cozy lobby/waiting area while waiting for the service to be done. Lots of comfy seats are available. SERVICE: The service here is outstanding! Came here around 4PM as a walk-in, when the day before a rock chipped my window on the freeway, and got out in about 30 - 40 minutes with no chip in sight! I was afraid it wouldn't be done in time as they close at 5PM. But they proved me wrong. It was a minor fix but all the employees here went above and beyond to help me out in my situation. I was so overwhelmed, I forgot to get everyone's name who helped me but everyone really made me feel like they truly wanted to help. I appreciated it so much. FOOD: Luckily, in the lobby, they provided tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and water! It was little instant mixes/bags with a water cooler that had both hot and cold dispensers. There were also creamers and stevia. It was nice that they provided this service as I waited. I helped myself to a green tea to warm myself up. Very good. OVERALL: Truly impeccable service! Hopefully, I never have to fix another crack in my windshield, but if I do, I will definitely come here! read more

Broken windshield assigned to Safelite via Progressive. My vehicle required an OEM replacement because of make/model. Carlsbad Safelite had difficulty ordering the windshield and canceled my appointment without notifying me! They said the appointment was cancelled b/c they couldn't obtain the windshield and their part purchaser was working with other "preferred dealerships" (instead of the local Audi dealership which has the part in stock). I contacted Progressive and they let me know that other approved vendors were an option! Within 30 minutes of discussing with the another approved local glass repair shop, they ordered the OEM windshield and set me up with an earlier appointment. Lesson learned, you don't have to use Safelite. And when speaking directly with the local Carlsbad Safelite store about my concerns, they could care less. Sounded very annoyed and curt - that they even had to explain anything to me. Carlsbad Safelite did not make me feel like valued as a customer at all. Remember - you have other options. read more

Took my 2022 tesla Model Y in for a small, 1/4" rock chip on front windshield .It was repaired by Safelite, Carslbad CA in a timely manner. the service man showed me the windshield and said the chip was fixed - in fact he said you could hardly see it. It was a CLOUDY Saturday morning and as far as I could tell it looked fine.The next day, Sunday the sun was out and the repair looked no better than when I had brought it in!!!! Not a bit improved! Exactly the same. I called Monday morning, by the way you can never contact the service center directly... you always get a national telephone call center. I was told that NO REFUND is possible... but they would credit me the $173 repair towards a new window approx $1500 !!!!! Terrible communication with customer. Terrible customer service. Dropped car at 2p, given 430p finish time. Left location, got call at 430p, they never even looked at my car! How can they not call me at 230p, 245p, 3pm when they KNEW they were not going to replace my windshield....horrible customer service. Emailed their HQS, of course no response, easy to see where they get customer service leadership from. The Safelite Autoglass business plan includes not having anyone to answer the phones or work as Administration. So the communications suffer, in my opinion. I made my first appointment on their website and they canceled it because I had a roof rack on my car. I went home, even though I had planned on the 4-5 hours to wait I come back, for the second appointment. I tried to call to confirm, but no one works the front desk nor answers any phone. They don't even have a phone number available for each location. I was called to pick up my car at 4pm, and the tech said it would be ready by 3:30pm. I arrived and the tech was "out, driving my car for calibration purposes" and I waited another 20 minutes. The staff is working on car windshield repairs, so they had no one to help explain why I was there and my car was not. I left my cell at home by accident, so I could not call him back for that 30 minute window. The tech and my cat finally arrived back at Safelite around 4:20-4:30pm. I paid my co pay and left in my car. Now a month later, Safelite is trying to reach me to finish their paperwork. Apparently they don't have my paperwork completely filled out on their end and somehow it is my responsibility to manage their lack of documentation and lack of planning. Maybe they should hire back an Administrative staff. Why should I have to help them with their paperwork a month after service and payment? Update: Safelite has contacted me by phone and email over 6 times. They messed up the invoice, deleted it I heard, and they are calling me to set up the appointment to replace my windshield. Oh, my this is a bad business mistake. So they also called and asked me for a copy of the invoice they gave me 4 weeks ago. In one day, I got two calls from them. Ridiculous. read more

The staff was super nice and Melody front desk lady was soo sweet and caring. My replacement was done in a timely manner. My only issue is that they are a bit careless of belongings. I got into my car to find my beautiful guardian angel rearview mirror accessory broken. Normally this wouldn't bother me however, my grandma gave this to me and I've had it in all of my cars I've owned for 5+ years. It's very sentimental to me. I was very upset at this. If you are going, I guess take your rearview mirror decor off. The techs should be a lot more careful. read more

Chip repair is the service I requested. Was quoted $163 for one small chip. The tech told me the windshield could possibly crack further during the process. And honestly I'm disappointed that it looks worse and instead of a chip that now looks like a white glue dot, it now has hair line spidered cracks. I asked for the tech to come out, sit in my car since you can see it better from inside the car and review it with me and answer some of my questions and he didn't even look at the work he did again he just got defensive. Another thing that bothered me is that I've been a manager in customer service for 15 years and their customer service seemed fine. Unless you question them and their quality of work, and then they get loud, condescending, and interrupt you and don't let you get your point across when you're simply worried or expected better work out of them. It's ok to question things. I'm not an expert but I want to understand. Pretty rude honestly. I understand some customers are just assholes in general and they probably deal with it A LOT but it was literally 930 in the morning. The day barely started. Try harder. FYI another thing I learned is they only offer after market replacements unless you go thru insurance and request the windshield to match your old one. So, if you have a ford and want an exact Ford Motor Company replacement. You need to ask your insurance for an OEM windshield. And it takes a couple weeks I guess to get it. For mine I'd want the exact one that's on my explorer because it's has a cool "Easter egg" decal of an explorer timberline on it. IF this repair fails and it cracks further. I hope it doesn't because honestly what a waste of $163 if it does. read more
