We needed to repair my husbands windshield so we brought his car in this morning after making an appointment and by the afternoon, they replaced it and notified us that it was ready. We had to drop off the car due to the type of car but I know they do site visits where they go to the customer. In terms of the value, our policy doesn't have a deductible so that was nice to not have to pay for this visit. On previous cars, I was able to arrange the on-site visit over the phone. New Invoice, charged $405 for parts and labor! 2 hours later: A different type of invoice emailed which shows discount given on first invoice. I did not have a promo code for discount nor was I told id be given a discount when Appt was made. Also, tech said he didn't know repellant was on invoice. I showed the tech my quote and he agreed that my price should be honored. Very nice tech btw. However one he spoke with his manager, the manager did not want to honor the price and tried to come up with some excuse that does not make sense at all. I told him I not paying for a price that was not quoted. This was only about principals now, the honest thing to do was to go with what was quoted but he refused. Very bad mismanaged service. I called Safelite on 4/2 to make an appointment to replace my windshield. Their next available appointment was 4/14. The technician showed up but the new OEM replacement windshield had a bad scratch in it. Apparently nobody in their warehouse bothered to inspect the new windshield before sending it out. But shit happens, right? I get it. They told me they would have to get another new OEM windshield and the soonest they could come out to install it would be 4/21. Well, after waiting ANOTHER week, the technician just showed up WITH THE SAME DAMAGED windshield that they tried to pawn off on me a week ago! I asked the technician to get the manager (Gus in El Cajon, CA) on the phone. He was basically hopeless. If I could leave, no stars I would. We contacted Safelite by recommendation of our insurance after our back windshield was shattered (but still in place). We made an appointment with them to have our windshield replaced in our driveway. When they showed up, they pushed the glass into our car, shattered most of it out and then realized they didn't have the proper parts to finish the job. They then left all of the glass inside of our vehicle the vehicle that we transport three children in on a daily basis. They said we would have to get in contact with their office to find out more about how long it would take to get the part. it took several calls before anyone would give us more information and even then they said it would take at least 10 business days before they could get the part and that couldn't be guaranteed. They wouldn't give us any names of a manager or allow us to talk to a manager. We are left with a car that we can't drive around and then of course last night it rained. this is an unbelievably unprofessional way to do business. I can't believe that they would leave our car in a worse state than they even found it. Let alone break out the glass before they knew that they had the pieces that they needed. I have attached a video below of what our back window looks like before they came as well as a photo of how they left it. Also, when we called around to other shops, they said that that particular window cost less than a $500 deductible so you're better off paying for it out-of-pocket rather than turning into insurance. The windshield was repaired well, as far as we can tell and people were nice. The issue we had was for our EV we were told only once we got there that it had to be at least 65% charged. Then when we came back after scrambling to get it charged before the time deadline to drop off the car, they said all software updates had to be installed which was going to take another good chunk of time!! So what could've taken 5 min to drop off had they told us these requirements ahead of time and we completed it before coming, ended up taking 2 hours of logistical work after the time we thought we would be done. So frustrating!!! This also meant our car went to the end of the line even though we thought we would be one of the first cars worked on that day. We triple checked to make sure we weren't told this in advance and it was nowhere in the emails or documents sent to us. It's just one sentence that should be added to streamline this process for their customers!! Otherwise no issue with the work! read more

Had 3 cracks in my windshield and got in touch with Safelite via my insurance company. Scheduled for a technician to come to my home and so glad I did. Ezequiel arrived and he was awesome! He informed me that because I did have 3 cracks there was a good chance that a repair wouldn't work but he was willing to try it out if I wanted to. He was open to the challenge and I'm glad he was because the cracks were able to seal. He did a phenomenal job and answered all of my questions about maintenance on my windshield. We had a rock cause a crack across our windshield. Ugh!!! It needed to be replaced so we were sent here by our insurance company. The service did take some time because they had to calibrate the glass for the cameras, but overall we are happy. It's nice to have a new windshield. The staff was friendly from the receptionist to the technicians. The tech, Dago, was professional and friendly even though it was already late into the work day. His attitude was great! This firm needs to update/modernize their website! First off, let me say that this review is not about the quality of service they may offer/do. This is about wasting their customers' time. I sent in a windshield replacement work order estimate for a 2004 model GM car. I received a quote for a certain amount and set up an at-home appointment for a future date. On the day of the appointment, I received a cancellation notice via email/text. A follow-up message informed me that they would not be able to perform the windshield replacement due to the car being over 20 years old. I duly understand their policy/reluctance to perform repairs on any car they deem necessary. That being said, I do have a bone to pick about their "system" issuing the repair quote and booking the appointment--only to cancel due to their 20 year rule policy. Can't they simply design their website to NOT accept repairs on 20 year old cars? read more

Safelite repair, Safelite replace This review is based PURELY ON THEIR MOBILE SERVICE. I assigned this review to the Chula Vista location only because it's the closest to my home. I had to deal with them 3x and I have absolutely no complaints. All of the service techs were friendly and knowledgeable. The first time they came out, it was sprinkling so the tech replaced my windshield in the garage. Due to lighting, he didn't notice a scratch on the glass until his install was complete. He apologized and said to have them come back another time to replace it again, at no additional cost. Second time, the tech said there was too much moisture to replace. Third and last time, tech came out and weather was perfect. He installed the glass within an hour. Total cost was $452.52. read more

I made an appointment to get my windshield replaced. They stated to drop it off between 7:30 and 9:30 am. The staff at the from desk stated it would be ready at 4:30 pm. Even the tech stated the same thing. At 4:30 pm I didn't receive a call, so I called them and the customer service rep on the other end attempted to call the store but he stated that no one was answering so he said go ahead and drive over there and it should be ready. They close at 5 PM. When I arrived, I walked in and talked to the same front desk staff and they told me that the service wasn't even started. He said to give them another hour. The car wasn't ready till 6 o'clock, and when I received it, the windshield was still dirty. They didn't even bother cleaning the windshield and when we got home, we noticed there was glue in the vents in the center console in crevices. I was very disappointed with the lateness and how dirty my car was after the work was completed. We purchased the package that they offered and two items were not available rain repellent and wiper blades. They stated that they're going to reimburse me for that. Only time will tell. read more

Windshield replacement, the technician named: Marco; he conducted himself very professional , customer service oriented, took the time to explain the time and procedures that are involved when it comes to replace glass... but the person who ruined the experience from excellent to " BAD" due to lack of customer service was cashier who in a very arrogant way would answer my questions and concern about a gigantic charge to my credit card for a service that was covered by my insurance company, he avoided eye contact and reply back to me in a sarcastic way... I had appointment with Safelite Auto Glass this morning I don't know exactly which one. I have a 2005 car, the technician came out and saw rust around my window and immediately refuse to do the service after check in with his supervisor. If you're in the business to replace windshield, you should do what it takes to replace the windshield. So I took my business to State Auto Glass in Spring Valley and David did the replacement in an hour and a half to including rust removal at a fraction of the cost at Safelite. Safelite, you have lost my business and anyone else I can recommend to go anywhere other than your business. I'm going to send them straight to State Auto Glass in Spring Valley. Completely wasted my time on 2 separate occasions. Everyone here is lazy and irresponsible. First time they said the windshield they had in stock for my vehicle was damaged. They told me last minute but I didn't make a big deal even though they didn't even bother to call me. Only reason I found out was because I checked my email. I went ahead and re scheduled. Today on 3/19/25 (my re scheduled appointment) I arrive and now they say that the windshield wasn't ordered with the molding seal and if I would like to re schedule AGAIN. They didn't even bother to give me a heads up this time and just acted as if everything was ok. Definitely not ok. Horrible service DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. read more

Really disappointed in Safelite, the manager at the Otay Mesa location, and their technician. My insurance helped schedule an appointment with Safelite where they would come to us to replace a shattered window on our vehicle (smash and grab situation). Scheduling was relatively easy, but not immediate. Two days after the incident, Alexander arrived to fix the window. When he arrived he realized that he had the wrong window (brought a laminated window, needed tempered). He quickly blamed our insurance adjuster and said he'd ordered the wrong part. We didn't know what to think and took him at his word. That said, instead of offering to vacuum up the broken glass, he jetted out as quickly as he had arrived. I later found out, after a call with our insurance, that Safelite were the ones to order the wrong part. They made the mistake. To make matters worse, instead of working to rectify the situation, Safelite continued to skirt the problem. Want to get a shop on the phone directly? Good luck. All phone numbers (and I was given close to 7 "direct numbers") lead to a call center. Honestly, I feel bad for the workers who do field the calls from customers. Their hands are tied and there's little they can do; in fact, outside of schedule several days out, there's nothing they can do. Next time your insurance asks if you want to go through their "preferred" vendor or use your own, choose your own. read more

Showed up, "fixed" my windshield chip. Then the repair had cracks spreading from the repair. I called to ask them to fix the repair they did and they said the repair cost would be applied to the cost of a windshield replacement. Then they offered to charge me double the market repair price to replace my windshield as per my deductible. Or I could say I wasn't an insurance customer and get a cheaper repair without a credit. The reason they contract for insurance repairs is to "create" customers. This is all in the fine print, so don't pay attention the giant "NATIONWIDE LIFETIME WARRANTY" because it isn't what it says it is. read more

I had my windshield replaced in the last few days of February. Before arriving there, I removed my car's aftermarket front camera from the windshield and left the camera cord dangling from the headliner's edge. At first, it appeared to be a flawless windshield replacement installation. It was not until I attempted to reinstall the front camera, did I realize how poorly the job installation went. I was surprised when the dangling camera cord simply fell off in my hand; the technician sliced through the camera cord wiring (twice in two areas) while removing the old windshield and neglected to tell me about it. The damaged cord wiring would have been fully exposed once the old windshield was removed, and nice job rehanging the cut wire. Accidents happen, but not telling me was no accident. I guess I should feel lucky that the car's safety equipment, the side windshield airbags wiring, electronic rearview mirror wiring including the garage opener wiring, and car phone system wiring were undamaged. And the actual damage was limited to the camera cord wiring only. I've responded to Safelite's Customer Service feedback request and advised what had occurred, and that I repaired the damaged wiring myself (spliced, soldered, and shrink-wrapped the damaged areas), blown fuse replacement, that was the first week of March. It was either that or additional time and effort to hunt down a new compatible cord and cord-specific connector. Either way, I still had to remove and reinstall the whole length of the cable run, including reinstalling back to the fuse box. Safelite's Customer Service Response: "Robert, we apologize for the wire. Your comments will be reviewed with our team, thank you." It's now May .. Safelite has failed me twice, at the installation and management level. Safelight simply chooses to ignore and bury the issue. I'm in serious doubt if they stand behind their warranty for anything! I see several responses from Safelite's Customer Service here as well, Job #1 seems to be a routine brush-off, a typical boilerplate response. What I haven't seen is an actual follow-up. I'll post a follow-up if Safelite ever responds again to my "original email" notification. read more

My car was broken into and I booked an appointment with this location to fix the window. I initially booked for the wrong date, so I updated my appointment on their website and received a text with the date, time and location of my appointment. My partner took my car to be repaired because I was at work, and when he arrived, was told I didn't have an appointment. He spoke with a female staff member who was working on 12/9 at 3pm and showed them the text confirmation that was sent, however she stated that appointment was not in the system. I asked how I could have gotten a text message and she did not have an answer. Despite having a broken window and an appointment confirmation text message, this location sent us away with no resources or assistance. I've never experienced such poor customer service. No effort to correct or apologize was offered. Because of Safelite in Chula Vista, I have no means of transportation and a vehicle that is unsafe to drive because of shards of glass sticking out of the window and covering the interior of my car. read more

A crack was fixed on the windshield and it looks terrible. We have never had a cracked fixed that still looks like a bullseye hole and or like someone shot our windshield. I was told that this happens. and in order to fix the problem they would have to break it again, or replace the entire windshield. We have had many cracks filled and none of them have looked so crappy.
