I came in to Safelite AutoGlass in Peabody looking for an appointment on Saturday 3/7/26 at 4:20pm. They didn't look busy, so I stopped in to see if they had time to fix a tiny, minor crack in my windshield. I waited to see anyone for about 5 minutes, before I went in to the office and no one was there. I saw in the garage that it was empty. I returned to my car to look for an available appointment online, since it is such a tiny crack, it should be a quick fix, right? A tall man came out and asked what I needed, I said I was looking for an appointment for a tiny crack to be fixed. He said they didn't have any appointments available (even though they closed 40 minutes later), and didn't ask to see what it looked like. Just "too busy," with their empty garage. I think they just wanted to leave early. I don't recommend this location. I had much better luck & customer service in Beverly, and it only took 10 minutes to fix. Also, I called Safelite 4 times before being able to be connected to a centralized call center person, who then tried to connect me to this location 3 times herself. They have no receptionists at any locations, and Safelite should make it possible to contact local locations through one of their phone options. read more

They did my windshield replacement without issue but they replaced my wipers after I had declined wiper replacements twice. to the tune of $70. They broke the old ones so initially I felt trapped into accepting this. I was scheduled for a windshield replacement and they gave me a window of 8am to noon on Saturday. No one showed, to call, no text until 4:30 when I received a text telling me that I had been rescheduled until the following Wednesday. I stayed home all day Saturday waiting for the technician. a call or a text would have been nice. It would have been nicer if they showed up. What poor customer service. read more

My windshield got taken out during the storm. I called my insurance company they recommended Safelite auto glass the closest location to my house was Saugus Massachusetts unfortunately at the time of my appointment the Saugus location had no power due to the storm. They did contact me hours prior to inform me and relocated me to Peabody. I arrived in Peabody where Chris took my vehicle and installed my new windshield. The windshield was installed in less than an hour. Great job‼ They even vacuumed my jeep and give me my documents. I was in and out less than an hour fabulous job I would highly recommend Safelite auto glass. FYI they do collect the deductible listed on your insurance policy. Luckily mine was only $100. Scheduled repair online, through the USAA insurance site which drives glass claims to Safelite. Booked an immediate time, then was called back and told they don't actually have that time available. Waited during the rescheduled appointment time window. Nobody shows up. No text or emails received. Checked online and found the appointment had been moved again. Called Safelite and spoke with a helpful rep, but they couldn't get through to the local facility. They gave me the direct number to the facility but nobody answers. Not good. -- I had another repair done on another car earlier this year and that was fine. Not at all clear what the problem is, but not being reachable is bad. read more

Bring my car in for a new windshield. Sounds perfectly fine. As soon as I pulled out of the lot I hear the loud clank During every tire rotation. I pull over and of course there's a gigantic screw in my front right tire. Sleazy Safelite technicians drove over giant screw while fixing my windshield. Then denied it. Pimple faced kid says "idk what we're supposed to do about that". The car was in their care and they drove over debris and car materials. Some big shop "master" pretends to look and get says there's "no way" it could've happened in their shop since they don't have those types of screws. . SURE.....there's no plausible explanation why a screw would be lying around an auto glass shop working on cars next to a jiffy lube. No integrity at all! Went to pick up the vehicle, and there was a gouge on the 'A-Pillar' interior trim. They claim they didn't cause the damage. It was not there when I dropped it off. They ordered a replacement part and that it would be available in a week. They replaced it and then stated, 'We could have charged you for this." Really left a lacking desire to deal with this place again. Very unprofessional. Windshield they installed was never right. Blotches on the inside and was never clean, even after trying numerous cleaning methods. Well my windshield cracked again. This time I figured I would give them another chance. You are now directed to an automated system. No human interaction. If you would like to ask a question, that their automation cannot handle, the system ends the call. Very frustrating. This business is a preferred installer, only because of a business deal they made between themselves and the insurance provider. Not the best game in town, and you have the right to go where you wish for your repair. Just DO NOT go here, and would NEVER recommend them. I have broken windshield and safelite replaced for a new one in less than one hour they are professional and friendly team

After 2 scheduled appointments (at 8am), they didn't have my windshield. They also didn't tell me until after I arrived and waited in waiting room for 40 mins. This is through insurance so you'd think they'd be delisted as an insurance coverer under these circumstances. You can't call Safelite prior because you get a robot and not the direct location you're inquiring about. Kinda forced through appointment 3 at this point because OF insurance! Pissed. read more

if I could leave one star for this completely unprofessional business I would....particularly for the "manager" I spoke to. he answered his phone calling me"my man" and was so rude he threatened to terminate the phone call. he sounded like. 19 year old punk. the admin who I spoke to before was not a whole lot better, the tech did not come when supposed to and they told me one thing when the online system told me something else entirely. and that's after they don't initially let you speak to a human being. Sooo, my insurance company referred me to Safelite to replace a windshield on our Acura RDX. The Safelite scheduling operator asked if the vehicle had lane departure and rain sensors. "Why, yes, it does." Great! She scheduled my appointment and a tech would come to our house that Friday to replace it - but "you may want to take it to Acura after the install to recalibrate the sensors." No problem. Thanks for the heads up. Wow, that was easy! That Friday, a tech calls us and asks if our vehicle has lane departure and rain sensors, which I replied affirmative - "Yep! just like I told your scheduling operator when she asked." "Oh. Well then, you'll need to bring it in to our shop for replacing it with an OEM windshield, but I'd still like to come by and have a look to confirm." So, the tech comes to our home and supposedly takes note of windshield and vehicle features. Schedule another appointment to get it replaced. Take off of work early, get to my local Safelite shop (wait for it)..."Sorry. It appears your vehicle is equipped with lane departure and rain sensors. We don't have the windshield for your vehicle here. We'll need to contact our warehouse (because our system doesn't specify inventory with that level of detail.) We will call you to reschedule another appointment." Four weeks. Three appointments. Two fingers crossed that next visit they finally get it right. Only saving grace is that an employee will try to get me a ride to work after dropping it off at their shop on my next visit. What an experience! For the record, I need a windshield that can accommodate LANE DEPARTURE AND RAIN SENSORS. read more

Had a windshield replaced in July. Technician lost a strip of molding and put a temporary piece in. Said he would find a replacement. Never did. Windshield cracked and I re-scheduled for a new windshield. They won't repair it because it's missing the molding and they want $250 for the part they lost. The technician knows this- it was the same guy both times- Luis- he knows he lost the molding. The manager refuses to deal with it and lost his temper and hung up on me. His name is Adam Bells. This is still the worst glass company to work with on the North Shore y'all! I gave them a second chance since they are affiliated with my insurance, and they once again confirmed an appointment without having the glass needed to replace my windshield. They also booked a mobile appointment without informing me that they need 5 feet of space on either side of the vehicle to do the work. Luckily I was doing some research and learned this info my own - not an apartment friendly service. Or friendly service at all, quite frankly. read more

Giant Glass is the closest I've come to a fairy godmother. Giant Glass has been my hero on two separate occasions when my car has been broken into (thanks again, south end). I just call the number from the jingle (800-54-giant for you kids not from here). The super-nice fairy agents take your info. They call your insurance with you, and you get a claim number together. Then the Giant Glass superhero man flies to your rescue and fixes your window in no time flat. The superhero also super-vacuums away the glass particles the bad guys left behind. AND even better, with full insurance coverage, this whole episode is free. Making Giant Glass my fairy godmother, coming freely to my rescue to clean the mess and replace the glass with a shiny new window. Did the bad guys take anything from my car either time? No, no. That would have been silly. Why break a window, shatter glass all about somebodies mode of transportation, go through personal items and take absolutely nothing? For sport, I suppose. read more

When in crisis, one does not forget a jingle. Or just in general. Jingles are hard to shake. That is the theory of Giant Glass, and dang, it worked. I got into my car after a three day weekend away from it and thought to myself, "Now why is the contents of the glove box all over the floor? Why is there glass everywhere? OHMYGAWD SOMEONE BROKE INTO MY CAR!" In a panicked state I called my insurance company and Giant in Peabody. The woman answering the phone was so nice and understanding. She sent someone over just to put cardboard in and sweep up the glass since they had to special order the little window that the thieves broke. They didn't get every last shard of glass, but it was a relief to return to my car and have at least some of the evidence of the intrusion removed. A day or two later, they returned and replaced the window, and took care of all insurance paperwork. If those crackheads were smart, they would have taken more than just my rollerblades and $10 in cash.. they would have taken the car roof of my hard top convertible Civic del Sol. Alas, they were so cracked out they didn't think of that. I had an excellent experience with Giant - seamless and satisfactory. I'm only writing this review because the woman who handled all the phone calls, paperwork, appointments, etc. was absolutely wonderful. When I dropped off my car, others waiting/dropping off were so rude to her- for no apparent reason other than their own self-important arrogance-- she was still so nice and patient...greeted everyone with a smile! Otherwise, they did a decent job replacing my windshield--they could have cleaned up all of the debris left on the dashboard though! read more

Dropped my car off to have windshield replaced. They told me would be done in 90 minutes... I opted not to wait and figured I could come by in the afternoon to pick it up. After not hearing from them by 1 PM I had to call the main number to find out status...they said first windshield was defective so they had to order another one. Fine. Picked car up at 3...this is when I find out they broke first windshield trying to install it...happens I guess. They supposedly vacuum car but there were bits of glue all over my dash and steering wheel. Car is older so I didn't bother making an issue out of it. Four days later, I'm heading out in the rain and wiper not clearing drivers side. I live nearby so I stop by to ask them what they did. I had put a new wiper blade on so that wasn't issue. They tell me it's because my wiper transmission was bad. Strange, wipers worked fine before windshield was replaced. Now I'm livid. Driving in the rain looking out passenger side so I can get to work. Get home and decide I'm going to play mechanic. Well guess what! The morons installed drivers side wiper arm on passengers side, and passenger arm on drivers side. Never again will I go with my insurance company's preferred vendor. read more

To top it all, rather than apologizing for the quality of work, the management blames the manufacturer? My car was broken into and they had smashed my back drivers side passenger window and of course because of insurance deductible the cost to fix it was on me. Unfortunate as that was because I was not the one who damaged my car window I was really pleased with the service from Safelite. Truly great customer service when I was there and even they said how sorry they were for my insurance not picking this up and also did an amazing job with the new widow replacement and was extremely fast with it. I also really appreciated that I had still glass from the broken window in my back seat that I hadn't gotten to cleaning yet and when I got my car back from them all the glass had been cleaned. Truly amazing and wonderful experience with Safelite under the crappy circumstances of having the property damage done to my car. Thank you Safelite! Please stay away from Giant Glass. Initially, I had a great experience with this company. They responded quickly, came to my office to replace my cracked windshield, and handled all of the insurance paperwork. However, with all the recent rain, I noticed some water sounds in my dash. I took my car into the dealer to have it checked out, and it turns out there's been water leaking into the dash. Without knowing that I had the windshield replaced, the dealer called and asked who had replaced it because there was a piece missing. You guessed it-- the one that keeps the water out of the dash! Plus, the water had completely destroyed the computer in the dash that now needs to be replaced. So, I called Giant, and the rep I initially talked to was very pleasant. After several phone calls though I got kicked up to a manager who was rude, condescending and arrogant. He yelled at me and told me there was no way it could be their fault, but if I wanted to try to prove it to him I could and then he'd consider paying for the damages. Plus he said that Toyota should just cover it since my car is still under warranty. The dealer called on my behalf to explain the problem, and encountered the same attitude from the manager at Giant. I'm fortunate that the dealer was able to work out a good faith coverage for the part, and I avoided having to pay almost a $1,000 in repairs caused by Giant's faulty work. Stay away from these guys-- there are far more reputable companies out there that will guarantee their work and treat their customers with respect. UPDATE: Another glass company just removed my Giant installed windshield. Horrified to find that there was little adhesive holding it along the top and major gaps in the adhesive along the bottom. Say no to Giant-- even if you can't get their number out of your head! read more

2.5 Stars. Contrary to their advertising, they do not offer same day service. I had a huge crack in my windshield that required a replacement ASAP. If it matters, I drive a very common car that is located right outside of Boston. I only need a basic windshield too, not any other custom glass parts. I called at 9AM on a Tuesday, and the earliest they could fix it was Wednesday afternoon. For all the money they spend on silly commercials on the radio, shouldn't they be able to afford another service van? I wasn't asking for them to show up within the hour; I just wanted my glass fixed when I left work at 6pm. After hearing how long it would take, I told the lady on the phone to forget it. I went with a local place that finished it in 3 hours. A person from Giant actually called to confirm my appointment for Wednesday, even though I canceled the day before! "Who do you call when your windshield's busted?" Of course you shouldn't trust a jingle, but I did... I called Giant Glass. (I'm not sure if I got Peabody or another location, I called the 800-number... but I put the review here since there's already two others attached.) They ROCKED MY WORLD. My windshield was pockmarked and chipped by some gravel on 93 south, so I gave them a call. I didn't wait at all to speak to rep, and she was super-nice. Easy to talk to, helpful, patient, everything you want to hear on the other end of the phone. I described the damage and she explained that my insurance company uses a third-party glass claims provider that would try to badger me into accepting a repair instead of replacement. After booking an appointment for replacement, she connected us on a three-way-call and helped me deal with the difficult agent. She really fought for me, even interrupting the claims rep and raising her voice, citing Massachusetts law... she went above and beyond. Really odd experience, but she knew what to say and how to work around the annoying script of the claims rep. After the three-way-call she disconnected us and I was so pleased I wanted to call back to thank her. On the day of the appointment I had to reschedule- I called, again practically no wait, and they rescheduled for the next day, no problem. The next day the tech came on time. They gave me a window of 10-5, and he showed up around 10:30. He called me 10 minutes before to ask me if I could park the car somewhere with some cover since it was raining. I did, went out and waited for him. He was pleasant, we blabbed about the weather for a moment, I unlocked the car, and he told me I could leave, he'd be done in 15 minutes. I came out 30 minutes later and there was no sign of the guy. He locked the car, left the receipt on the seat. The glass is perfect. It's not exactly the same as the factory like they say on some of their ads, but it's an exact fit. Same shading on the top, same black lines around the mirror. The installation was flawless... clean seals, no scratches, no wind noise, mirror in the right place. He even wiped down my dashboard and took the time to neatly replace my inspection sticker and my oil change reminder. NEATLY! As in LINED UP NICE AND SMOOTH TO THE GLASS!! REALLY! Overall a great experience and I will definitely use them again. 'Cause now that I'm commuting down 93 every morning, it's just a matter of time before this glass has to be replaced. I do have to note: I have full glass coverage on my insurance. I've heard from other people that if you don't have glass insurance, they aren't the cheapest shop in town. (Hearsay only!) But if you want a good job done and you can spend, go for it. If you have coverage, DEFINITELY call the number. The one that's permanently etched into your long-term memory. I would have given it ZERO star if it is an option. Went online to request an appointment on Tuesday. Lady from corporate office called back to "help" me with scheduling an appt. She said there appears to be a slot for tomorrow, Wednesday, but she needs to check with this location directly to confirm. On hold for awhile, when she came back she said she was still on hold with this Peabody shop. She told me she would put me down for the Wednesday appointment and if it is not available, she would call me back. And consider the appt all set if I don't hear from her or anyone else from Giant Glass. Well, it's Wednesday afternoon and no one from GG called, so I took off from work early to get here. Traffic made the drive a little over 45 minutes to get here. Linda, at the shop, greeted me but couldn't find my work order/appt. When she finally found it, she said it was scheduled for Thursday and not for Wednesday. I am posed off at this stage since I went out of my way to make this appointment. I called the main corporate number while still at the shop. The same lady answered the phone and she told me it appeared someone had canceled my Wednesday appt that she booked and had rescheduled it to Thursday. I asked her who, she said Linda at the shop did. Basically blamed Linda at the shop for the issues of screwing up the appointment. I really wouldn't care less whether it was the corporate office or the local shop that had screwed up, I cared that it wasted my time to leave work early and to drive up here for nothing, when someone from this company could have made a simple courtesy call to let me know they don't have the windshield in stock and that they are switching my appointment to another day. But the fact they didn't care or have the courtesy to contact me is what really annoyed me about this company. Instead of advertising, maybe they can spend the money on employees training on proper customer service and on how to properly take an appointment . EPIC FAIL!!! read more
