He cleaned the glass on the street and there was a blanket in the car to collect debris. One tiny corner of the rubber is not exactly flush and he put some double sided tape there which isn't working but no rain will get in. read more

The technician never showed for my appointment and I did not receive a courtesy call from the shop letting me know they wouldn't be coming. I spoke to a Customer Service rep who apologetically rescheduled me for the next day, only to find out (while waiting the next day for the tech to arrive... AGAIN) that the rep did not actually reschedule. The shop told me at 2PM there was nothing they could do, but I could come to the store if I wanted. I will take my business elsewhere. To whom this may concern, Here goes my kinda short story. I was about to hop into my car to go to work (8am), found out some scum had busted the passenger side window and flipped through my glove compartment and took about two fifty in change (left 3 pennies which anger me more than the door window itself). Called cops then found out about 3 more cars door were busted like mine. Next, I called progressive and and led me to safelite. Also make sure you have a better comprehensive coverage on your insurance. I had a 500 deductible and I have to cover all of this out of pocket. Moving on, spoke to the manager at safelite and was assured they will send someone out between noon and 5pm. Went back home texted my boss and waited. At around 4pm, the guy called to say he might not make it today because i was the last client on his route and he do not have the door glass with him. I do not believe this because I had spoken to them at around 8:30 am and there is no way they not have enough time to prep for it. This is just unprofessional on so many levels. After the call, spoke to safelite and was told if I drove over, they can start the job. Mind you it was 30 degrees that day and driving on the highway at 50-60 mph with the passenger side door busted. The glasses flew and spread everywhere and my bottoms were freezing. Really wish I had one of those heated seats then. After I took it to the warehouse, they did an okay job on serving it. Some of the smaller glasses were stuck and could not be vacuumed. Okay to sum it up, take your car to the warehouse if you really need to get serviced there and you do save 20+ on the guy coming to you. Thank you for listening, J. So, we scheduled an appointment for today with a 8:00 am to 12:00 pm window. I was going to call in for an ETA around the half way mark, 10:30 am, but the guy showed up at 10:00 am. Confidence was high until he told me that he had the wrong windshield for my vehicle. He called his shop and they said, they had one in stock and that they would be by in about 20 to 30 minutes. An hour and a half later they find out that they actually do not have the exact windshield because the one I needed had all the bells and whistles. I mentioned that I made that clear to the person that took my order last week. He even went over each and every extra I had for the windshield. I suggested to the installer to hold off taking the windshield off until the other one was here to make sure everything is exactly what it needs to be. He said, it's no problem and that he was going to take the windshield off anyway. Two hours later we find out they DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT PART and that he will need to replace the old seriously cracked windshield back onto the vehicle. Freakin' insane! Completely unprofessional to not listen to me in the first place and wait for the glass to arrive or at least call in and find out if we were good to go! While all this is happening I call Safelite and address the issues at hand. I was Besides loosing time, we are now down a vehicle and have no way to take care of our responsibilities. read more

The place gets too busy for early appointments, so I don't recommend it. I had a 9 am appointment to replace my windshield but I got there early at around 8:30 am. The front desk attendant tells me it will be approximately 2 hours and I was ok with that since it was within expectations from what I read online. (1.5 hours on average). The clerk suggested maybe I should take a walk and therefore I decided to grab breakfast nearby. As I am leaving, I took an inventory of the cars waiting in the lot. As I returned at around 9:10am, I see someone just arriving. and a couple of new cars. This location decided to take care of them first and I assumed that it was because they were getting their glass repaired and not replaced. Either way they clearly arrived after 9am and my car should have been looked at before theirs. At around 9:50 the repairman tells me it will be 1.5 hours of wait before I receive my car and that I should take a walk. I decide to wait outside. I see another car arrive which was clearly a windshield replacement. Shortly thereafter I ask the front desk why is my car not being worked on and his tone got a bit confrontational, I tried to deescalate by reminding him I arrived at 8:30 and that my appointment was at 9am. I was not looking for an argument I was just trying to understand for future reference. As I am waiting, the car that arrived around 10am gets worked on and had their windshield replaced. The owner of the vehicle tells me that he had an appointment and that is why they took care of him so quickly. My car was was handed to me at around 11:20 but that is after quite a few cars that arrived after me were serviced. It only took them around 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the work on my car. I received no explanation or apology. I was there and clearly took notice. I think that either someone mistook my car for a "drop off" or they mishandled the assignment of work (my car should have been fixed before others with later appointments and arrived later regardless of the simplicity of their issue). The repairman himself was nice and knowledgeable. I was unlucky and if I would have been one of the other people that arrived after 9am but was prioritized, the review would have been different. Next time I won't be making a 9am appointment as it did not seem as busy when i was handed my car. If their policy is to prioritize simpler jobs they should state that upfront. read more

When ice falls on your windshield after a snow storm, it is not fun. I wasn't sure insurance was going to cover it so I made an appointment with them anyway and the nice customer service rep told me "I will book an appt for you today but call your insurance comp. and find out if it is covered." He then gave me the work order number and a time when I could bring the car. So I call my insurance company and lo and behold, I don't have to pay a single penny! I call Safelite again and the next agent takes care of the whole thing with my insurance company. I go to the location on 19th Ave & 37th Street, driving very carefully, and am greeted by two nice people (man & woman). I had a 2pm appt and showed up at 1:55 pm and was told that there are 2 people ahead of me. Okay no problem, as this storm probably wreaked havoc on all. Since I knew the neighborhood I walked up to Ditmars Blvd (a quick walk) and went to my old fave, Pizza Palace. Had some lunch and while enjoying a nice BIG slice, I get a call saying my car is ready! What??? I look at the watch and it is 2:50pm!!! Yes in under an hour they fixed my car. I went back, picked up the car and inspected the inside. CLEAN! Yes there were some small specs of glass-glitter that I wiped up with a wet tissue but if you had seen the damage to my previous windshield you would be surprised there was not more glass! My EZ-Pass and inspection stickers were placed to their original positions. So overall, I'm happy to report that not only are they professional but they are a great company for autoglass repairs. Everyone from customer service reps, receptionists, to the people who fixed the glass are great at their job. Keep up the good work you guys! And a big THANK YOU to all. read more

This place is so horrible. For starters they rescheduled me twice because the first time they had me down for repair and not replacement. So they scheduled me for the very next day .The second time they had a glass that was " scratched" so they couldnt put that . Then the earliest they had was the following week . At this point i already lost out on time and money from my job .So i rescheduled due to work ( the very next day) lady " squeezed" me in for 830am . I get there , guy tells me im scheduled from 11-5pm . So at this point i am heated . I leave my car just for them to call me an he after i leave to tell me theyre having the same issue " glass is scratched" . Now I'm pissed , they decide to "call for another glass" . To see if they can maybe get it done the same day . They never call me back , I tried reaching them for 30 minutes , finally got in contact and told me my car will be rdy for pick up by 6. Im already at work , so they tell me they can leave the key in the car and i can get it when i get out of work but its not their responsibility if something happens to my car. Like what kind of stupidity is that. So I go the next morning to get my car , there's absolutely noone at the front desk , calling and calling while standing there . Waiting nearly 30 minutes until someoone goes and gets one of the workers from the garage to give me my key back . So about a day afterwards I have missed calls and voicemails from safelite saying I have a payment I need to pay to call them back . I call back numerous times ,13 to be exact . No answer at all, So i call safelite directly and a worker helped me . They are so quick to call for payement but when you need help they DO NOT PICK UP !!This is by far the worst experience, this place sucks , terrible service . Never coming back here and I will be spreading wthe word to everyoone I know . NEVER AGAIN !! read more

An excellent experience with this location (I had an unpleasant experience with another location which I'll review on their page). I booked the appointment online, and received a decent quote. I also got a discount code via email; I believe it was because I had started a quote about a week earlier and they were encouraging me to complete the appointment. That might be a hot tip about how to get a lower price (or you can google promo codes, there are plenty). Anyway, I scheduled the appointment early in the morning; when I arrived the the technician was able to begin doing their pre-inspection right away. I preauthorized the charges and left for work. By the time I reached my office, they called to say the car was ready. I had no issues at all, the transaction went smoothly, and the work was done well. They even replaced my registration and inspection stickers, and even the little service reminder sticker that was on my windshield. Absolutely no complaints at this point. Service was fast but they f'd up (broke) my windshield washer and I had to wait several weeks for a different location to order and receive the new parts. Also, now the windshield fogs INSIDE car when it shouldn't so I'm guessing they also f'd up the seal allowing water into the vents, etc. CHECK EVERYTHING before you accept your car from them!! I called Statefarm to replace my cracked windshield and I got my appt right away. I was told to bring in my car and it would take about 2-3 hours. When I got to the office I was helped by a lovely receptionist, I forgot her name. I grabbed a cup of coffee from their Keurig and sat down. I scheduled an appointment with Safelite through my Insurance company to replace a broken car window. They were extremely helpful in setting up my appointment and very personable. The very next day, Brian came to my location to fix my window. I was at work, but he communicated with me every step of the way, as well as my boyfriend who met him at the location. He was early, professional, worked quickly, and my window looks brand new! He did a great job cleaning up the glass inside the car, and offered a few tips on getting the leftover debris out of the seats, etc. I highly recommend this company for anyone who is on-the-go and needs a quick auto glass fix. Update: After a year of usage, I notice a few problems with the installation. Firstly, the pins that holds the A-pillar covers were damaged during installation. The technician should not reuse these plastic pins. So during 2 separate incidents of extreme weather freeway driving, the A-pillar cover started pulling apart. Only the last pin, the side mirror, and my wife's hand kept the cover from flying off the car. Secondly, the A-pillar area was compromised and water would seep in during heavy rain. I initially thought it was the sunroof but the dealership traced the problem to the A-pillar and repaired it (at a cost of about $500.00). Thirdly, the sound-deadening quality of the windshield is far inferior to OEM. Only recently did I learn that many luxury cars uses "acoustic windshields" and therefore are much pricier - now I know. read more

They replaced my windshield. They told me that they vacuumed my car and no car wash for two days. However, before I got into my car I noticed small shards of glass in the back of the seat. I tell the tech and he says he'll vacuum it. I leave the place look the center row and notice more small pieces of glass on the floor and in the seats. There is even more glass in the center consoles. I call to complain ONLY THEN DO THEY TELL ME that the windshield broke during the installation. NOT ONCE did they tell me BEFORE I left the place that the windshield broke and to be careful of glass. They tell to come back. When I get back they tell me they usually vacuum 90% of glass and they don't do detailing. So if I put my hand in the cup holders and come up with shards of glass on my fingertips then it's okay because they already vacuumed 90% of the glass. Or the children were to climb in the back seat of my car and had shards of glass embedded on their legs or hands it's okay because they don't do detailing. What kind of BS is that? There is glass everywhere that can be harmful to myself and my passengers. THEY DONT EVEN TELL YOU TO BE CAREFUL OF THE GLASS SHARDS!! To be fair they did vacuum the car again and did a decent job of removing the glass from the center console and the middle row area. So be careful when it comes to this place because at this location they take safety lightly hence safe-lite. The whole point of vacuuming the car to remove glass shards is for the safety of the occupants. To ensure that the people don't get hurt because there are shards of glass everywhere. read more

I was happy with the work that they did on my car.. Its only been a day though. I got my front windshield replaced so far so good...The staff that work on the car are nice but.... When they replace your window they dont tell you that the inspection sticker might not be saved. When you peel the sticker off there is the word VOID that goes across the sticker. And that is what happened. When my car was ready they told me about the sticker and what to do to get a new one. The receptionist in the front desk was no help. She gave me a card to call to find out what to do to get a replacement inspection sticker...I had questions for her and she had no idea on anything. There is a process. They say for only $2 you get a new one yea but do they tell you how long it takes for you to get one? You need to print out a DMV form and send in the paperwork and even the actual remains of the sticker... how can you have the car sitting on the street with no inspection sticker?? And we all know how DMV is. It can take many weeks to get it and by then I would be getting a ticket every day. ANd I have to pay for that too right There is no clear sign in this office explaining the process of this replacement sticker. So now I am scrambling to find out what to do. The quickest way is to pay $37 to get it re inspected but then I am out $37. But that is after 24 hrs. Since they tell you, you cant do anything to the car for 24 hrs. If I spend $2 and wait weeks for it, then I am liable for the tickets I get daily until then?? I wish there was a better process on this. And when I call to make the appt they talk to you about this problem, but they didnt. In person they didnt talk to me about it until after the fact. I had to do my own research. They could of easily used a heat gun on the sticker but who knows if that would of worked either... Overall I am happy with my new windshield. But not happy I have to pay another $37 for an inspection when i just did one in Nov. Im hoping they reimburse me for this expense. Thanks. read more

Made an appointment for 9:00 AM to replace my windshield and new windshield wipers. I was told the wait would be 1.5-2 hours long. At first, I didn't mind because the waiting area is air conditioned with tv and wifi. After about 3 hours I was getting annoyed and impatient. Finally the tech came with my keys and informed me of the difficulties that occur which made the replacement take so long. It would have been courteous if I was told of the situation instead of waiting unaware that the process would take longer. I was just happy to have my new windshield and to be finally finished; I paid and left @ about 1:00PM. I drove off without inspecting the job (big mistake) as I was in a hurry to get on with my day. About 15 minutes later I stopped to get gas and noticed that the "new wipers" I paid for we're not new at all! I drove back to safelite, extremely agitated at this point. I explained to the person at the desk that I was not given new wipers. First, the two people at the front desk could not locate the paper work for my order even though I only left 15 minutes ago! When I presented them with my receipt I was told they did not charge me for the wipers. They said we did not have them in stock so we did not replace them. I asked if that's true then why was I not told this when I left earlier? I explained that the wipers were the only thing I paid for because insurance covered the rest. Why would they ask me to pay for wipers that they knowingly did not have and did not replace? Suddenly, a package of the wipers that they did not have in stock appeared out of thin air. Strange. They promptly put the wipers on my car and I was finally finished at safelite after FIVE HOURS! Extremely unprofessional. Lack of communication. Whether they forgot to put the new wipers on or they were trying to scam me, it was an extreme inconvenience and ridiculous that they can not communicate between the office and the techs efficiently. We are a military family that just arrived from overseas to find a quarter sized crack in our windshield, directly in the drivers view. I figured we'd need to replace the whole thing being that it was in the drivers view (based on google search), so I made a mobile appointment online which was very easy. After deliberating with my husband who's still overseas, he wanted me to call Safelite to see if it could just be repaired without having to replace the whole windshield. I called and explained my situation and they asked if I was able to come in that same day so they could evaluate it. I did and turns out that they were able to repair it. Was asked to come in again within an hour, I arrived slightly earlier and my car was done in under an hour. It's still slightly visible of course but I'm very happy with their work and efficiency to get me in last minute appointment. They saved me money, time, and gave me peace of mind as we prepare for another road trip to relocate to another duty station in a few days. Great customer service!! read more

There have been 3, THREE!, attempts to fix my windshield. Note that the guys who came out for Mobile repair came from the Astoria Warehouse. First time was a Mobile appointment, and it started raining. Guess the guy started rushing because the windshield ended up with an air leak. a whistle is clearly heard over 15mph. Second Mobile appointment was for 8 AM-12 PM. This guy doesn't show til 230 pm! That's after my husband and I reached out to the shop asking what happened to him. "Oh, the original guy didn't come in today, but the person covering should have called". So the company doesn't call or email the customers themselves to let them know the tech they were expecting is not to be expected? When the replacement tech did call, he said he would arrive in 30 mins which then became a full hour. Let's add to our amazing luck! This person cracked our windshield that had just been replaced and he came with a broken one! 3 hours later, a leaky broken new windshield, and a new appointment... at the warehouse this time. Third appointment now, at the shop. After waiting for 2 hours after our appointment time my car is still on the side walk, so my husband and I decide to get lunch. Upon our return and a little more waiting, the guy (same guy we had for the last appointment), says he didn't find any leak. That he did an air leak test all around and nothing, but he did find a small one in the corner. Insert side eye here! Just contradicted himself! My husband had to ask for a rag to clean all the black finger/ hand prints that were left all over the door. Also, the windshield is not in the right place! It is shifted to the passengers side so you can see the dark border only on the driver's side. Ridiculous! Finally leave for the long ride home with a "fixed" but crooked windshield. After a 1.5 hour drive, the windshield is whistling AGAIN! UN-FREAKING-REAL! So disappointing. Am I in the Safelite Twilight zone? I have a cracked windshield. i called Geico as i have full glass in my coverage. they contract this work out to safelite. i scheduled for them to come to my house today 8/4/15. My wife is 9 months pregnant and was home all day. At 3;30 she went to grab today's mail and saw a "Thank You slip" on our front door. This technician never called or rang the doorbell. This lazy technician just wanted to get home early so he drove to my house, put the slip on the door and left. i called the company and they said he called twice and rang the doorbell. My wife's phone has no missed calls on it-this guy was lazy and lied just to get home early. We only have 1 car and my wife may give birth any day now and i'm not driving anywhere with a cracked windshield. These guys are horrible. read more

Very professional and extremely efficient. From first looking for a company to replace my car windshield (it was urgent as I needed to complete a NYS inspection within 12 hours), to booking the appointment, to actually completing the work all took under 5 hours. The company charged me a mere $20 for remote service, which is further evidence that this is a company that charges customers an honest rate. Very impressed. I only paid $260 for a full replacement including service and tax. Whereas the local Toyota dealership quoted me $1000 to do the same work and that required bringing the car into the dealership. read more
