I was overcharged during my last visit. I got a three pieces of ribs that were from the deli section pre-cooked and I asked how much they would cost and the gentleman who helped me said 8.99 a pound. When he rung it up, he quickly took it off the scale, but I noticed it said .39 pounds and later after getting rung up and leaving, I noticed that I was charged five dollars!! Five dollars was written on the package. No indication of the weight was written on the package. He was also very selective of picking up the pieces he gave me...and I noticed that the pieces I got had large bone in them and very little meat. Definitely got less than a quarter pound of meat altogether once I removed it from the bone. So I have decided not to return because I don't trust that they're ringing up the meat correctly.

All of the employees look like they have one form of PTSD or another, and they're primed to think the worst in their customers by default. I'd highly recommend Lucky's, Safeway, or Trader Joe's - all of which are a 3-4 minute drive up the hill - over this stuck up backwards place.

When you are ready to order, you bring the sheet to the back left deli counter where they have their display and desserts. While we waited for our sandwiches, we took some time to look around the market. It is fantastic! The decor is lovely. The items they have in stock is also impressive. They have your basic items like chips and soda, but also a large international snack section. There are shelves of foreign chip flavors and drinks which is very neat. They also have a super wide variety of domestic products that you can't typically find everywhere. I was thoroughly impressed with all they have to offer. Since I live in the city, I get to have lots of choices as to where I want to spend my money on food and whatnot, but this Safeway is a place where you think you might get a deal, and you think, well, it's a small town, and the only deal you are going to get is whether or not someone will be nice to you, and answer your question without a strange look or straight up rudeness. Food was alright, but nothing special, and most of it seems a bit on the expensive side. The lighting is made to make things look better, so I'm always suspicious. At checkout, the checker said "did you find everything Ok?" and while I was 1/2 way answering, "Well actually... " she turned to the bagger and asked, "Are you and ??? going to see that movie tonight?" I was shocked. Really bad customer service. read more

ATTENTION MANAGEMENT! You are failing! Your staff is unhappy, the store is a mess and your local long time customers (like me) are livid. How many employees have quit in the past 3 months because of terrible management? I work a graveyard shift and I do my shopping at night. Every time I come in I have to wait an absurd amount of time in line because you only have ONE cashier working. Do you not realize the line wrapping around the store? Do you care about your employees? Do you care about your customers? This Safeway used to be such a great store, sad to see it fall. I'd rather drive all the way to Del Rey Oaks and shop then deal with this pathetic mess. Five stars for failure! read more

Never had any problems at this location, then again when I'm here shopping it's usually around 1am or later. Because of this I dodge lines and don't have to deal with all the customers running around. Sometimes it's hard to get help late at night with all the employees stocking items but they now have a squeaky frog toy u can squeeze to get some help. Had to mark down this Safeway a bit due to their produce selection. Everything appears to be too far from fresh - if you don't use the produce immediately it will spoil overnight. Being so close to the Mecca of produce in Watsonville and Gilroy, this is a bit depressing. For a small Safeway the store has a decent selection, easy to get in and out also. If it had fresher produce, I would move my rating up. read more

Because he proceeded to lie and at random claim that he refuses to service me because I "interrupted his conversation" (actually admitting he was just chatting away) of course I made a call and as I was stepping outside he still had the audacity to follow me outside the store minutes after the door was closed behind he proceed to instigate me while I was on the phone with dispatchers because no I have actually shopped at this store prior no problem. Hence a cashier who proceeds to follow you once you left out the store is clearly a danger in addition to claiming you're the supposed issue clearly is lying and honestly providing the worst customer service. From an individual who has actually dealt with customers being racist and demanding--me asking him to please ring me up should not have been an issue at all. I shouldn't even have to request a cashier do his actually job. Mind he's complaining about being there till midnight? Some of us get up as early as four am grind go to school take care of our families and go to sleep after midnight no complaints. For an older man "cashier" to be upset at his job just tells me he should consider quitting and not projecting his nonsense. This happened at 19:15 hours I really do hope corp fired him because he is not a safe cashier ladies please do not go there!
