As I was getting something from the deli a lady walked up to the register there to pay for her things. After she waited there the sandwich maker yelled "register". Then another older lady mocked her several times yelling the same thing as she walked around. Someone else asked the mocker if she could help the lady at the register and she said she was busy. Someone finally went to help her after they all argued about who should have to. I was so blown away and don't know what I would do if I was treated that way. Worst service I've ever seen. read more

They still have great customer service. They have helped me out numerous times in the self-check out without any attitude. They give my kids apple slices every time I bring them. They've done my son's birthday cakes two years in a row and did a phenomenal job translating my decorating ideas into reality. They have been very cheerful at the meat department when I get fish or meat at the counter and helpful with cooking advice. The manager, dressed as Santa Clause for Christmas and gave away candy canes. And when I've accidentally left a bag of groceries behind, they've never given me any trouble replacing things. This used to be my go to store for steaks. Picked up 2 ribeye steaks tonight. Cooked them as I always do. Extremely tough. They weren't ribeyes. Even my wife noticed it. I will no longer be shopping here since albertsons chooses such horrible meat. I'm disgusted. $40 down the drain. Beware. read more

The store manager is incredibly nice. I told him I was looking for a specific brand of ginger beer and he made sure to bring it back to the shelves. Some produce is very good, other is only so-so. Butcher is barely average and you can find better meat choices elsewhere. The do often run good specials on other items. I use Bales or New Seasons for produce and meat, Safeway for coffee, breads, and some dairy. Not bad but not great either. I have a broken foot. Hard to shop this way and my family is in vacation so I made a huge shopping list and ordered from Safeway on NW Cornell Rd. In far north Beaverton..my closest store. I can't adequately express my huge disappointment with the meat and produce I received. With the exception of ground turkey and deli meat, the steaks both beef and pork were expensive and VERY tough. The produce was wilted and the lettuce already browning at the edges. My bananas were soft and over ripe upon receipt and the strawberries were already fuzzy with mold. Granted the day was hot and my delivery time was 12PM but that doesn't excuse melted Ben and Jerrys ice cream. The truck must not be refrigerated enough to handle frozen food on hot days but, really, that is a Safeway failure not mine. Last complaint, as I couldn't find my preferred orange juice brand at the Safeway website I ordered the House brand. It was gross-even my granddaughter who drinks OJ all the time pulled a face when she drank a glass..or didn't drink the glass but had a sip and poured the rest out. Which I did to the big bottle I purchased. This is totally unacceptable. A waste of my money. I'll never buy from Safeway again. I admit I haven't shopped Safeway in the past, but no one else in my area delivers so I was stuck. I also ordered a few bakery items which were ok and you can't mess up with milk or canned goods. That's a poor pro when the cons were so huge. Safeway delivery-how to suck big time. Should be the motto. EDIT: Safeway sent me a "How'd we do?" Questionnaire. I wouldn't trust ordering online from Safeway. They will charge you and not deliver your groceries on time or at all. And then they do not have people available beyond 9pm to help support your concerns. The manager at the local stores can't even provide you with any information about your order. It's scary to think how a brand like this is getting away with customers money. Now I have to wait 3-5 days to see if I actually receive a refund. At least when you order on ClickList from Fred Meyer, Ralph's or Kroger, you can contact that local store and receive REAL HELP! I called the local store and Safeway customer service and NO ONE had ANY IDEA about my order. You specifically have to speak with the .Com Department and they are only open from 8am-9pm. Yesterday I ordered my groceries online for the first time. Today I received prompt delivery from Safeway's home delivery service. Why have I waited so long? This is the way to go. I could not be happier. The delivery fees are reasonable, drivers do not accept tips, service was prompt, the driver was friendly and efficient. It was wonderful. This Safeway got kids' "car carts" (like fire engines and police cars) a kid can ride and *drive* while an adult pushes, AND kid-size carts a kid can push just like an adult does. For this reason alone, I'm giving it 4 stars. read more

Thought I would drop a note to the manager of this store. This manager has a simple popcorn wagon set up in the parking lot. Ok this is not something that is above and beyond customer service but it clearly shows this large corporate store is able to allow a store manager to make decision at the store level letting a small vendor sell popcorn at their store. It's nothing huge but it is a treat to get. It's nice thing to see this popcorn wagon selling in the corporate store parking lot. read more

If you like to wait 8 minutes just to wait for the cashier to be quizzed another 5 minutes by supervisor this is the store for you to shop at. I just left my emptied cart on checkout stand as i would have waited another 5-10 minutes. This is why i shop at new seasons. read more

Grocery DELIVERY Service for Safeway for Beaverton Oregon is very very poor. Safeway in California delivered groceries for 3 yrs with no problems but since moving to Oregon a year ago the delivery has troublesome. I placed my order on Friday evening. Saturday slots were filled so delivery was supposed to be on Sunday between 11am and 3 pm. At 4:30 pm the driver called and had a flat tire. Told me to call Delivery Support. I did and waited on the phone for 4-1/2 HOURS to speak to an agent. She was very nice and rescheduled the delivery for Monday 11:00am to 1:00 pm. Later I got a call from the supervisor of Delivery Support in to say they can not fit me in until TUESDAY !!! I am a disabled senior citizen and need my groceries!! No food in the house now until Tuesday. Very POOR delivery service in Beaverton Oregon! read more

So Sad, as this grocery store has been going downhill. Lately, most of the food is old and/or expiring soon (no longer fresh). For example, all the gallon jugs of milk for sale are set to expire in a little over 7 days, the deli meat goes bad in a week, the stuff on sale expires within a month, the chicken wing bar has been old/stale and gross, the eggs expire in a week, and many vegetables/fruit are really ripe or bruised. This Safeway has also gotten really expensive. I will be shopping down the street at Freddy's or QFC from now on. read more

This is a great neighborhood Safeway. It doesn't have the bulk/organic products like New Seasons or Fred Meyer, but it is a great place to pick up basic ingredients. Sales are good sometimes, if you are a club member. Staff is super friendly. And- it's open until 1:00 AM. Such a blessing for those of us with weird work schedules! read more
