For the most part this is my go-to grocery spot, mainly because its the closest. The app makes it easy to keep track of current sales and add new deals. The store is usually pretty clean with the exception of some bathroom items, and everything is usually pretty stocked, even at 8 at night. Checkout is usually faster with nice cashiers. I had an online prescription sent in, I showed up 3 hours later to find out it wasn't in stock. I understand challenges can happen, however I will be out of town & needed it today. The technician charged me before even checking to see if they had the prescription on file, the pharmacist kept cutting me off while I was trying to ask questions and understand my options. It wasn't a very good experience simply bc I felt very dismissed vs cared for. It was like they didn't really care about my inconvenience- only how it was impacting them which was really disheartening. I felt like I had to press the issue for them to check other locations or answer questions I had. I have worked in a pharmacy for 9 years so I totally understand things beyond your control but the customer service IS within your control and it should have been better towards myself and other customers. read more

The reason for this review is the breakfast burritos at the deli. Hands down best breakfast burrito EVER especially for $3.99. I come here all the time for these now, I think safeway should sponsor me for how many people I tell about the burritos LOL. Unfortunately if there is even 1 person let alone 2-3 in front of me I know to hunker down because it will be a loooong time before I eat. I went to the butcher counter to purchase some steaks, shrimp and chicken breasts and waited there for approx 7 minutes for service. There was nobody around the meat and poultry section nor the aisles in the vicinity, no bell, no buzzer, etc. so I went through the double doors to stock area to maybe try to flag somebody down. Well the butcher came back there and was extremely rude , unprofessional and raising his voice to me that I need to leave now and I can't be back there. I said I was just trying to flag someone and he interrupted me again with a lot of aggression in his voice that he was helping another customer. It escalated from there with some back and forth since I felt totally disrespected as a regular customer. I then paid for all my other groceries, minus the big ticket meat items and asked to have a chat with the manager. That chat went very well and she recognized me and she stated that she will speak to the employee and his supervisor. The pharmacy here is very inadequate. They never have my prescriptions filled when my doctor sends them in. I waited two weeks to have my antidepressants filled only to go to a follow up appointment and be told that they sent it in and dont know what happened. My Dr. said she would resend the prescription and that it would be ready when I got there. I go in THE NEXT DAY and it STILL wasn't filled. They didn't even know they had it. I had to wait 45 minutes for them to fill it. Which in reality I had to wait 2 weeks and 45 minutes because my doctor had to send it twice. If this place weren't close to me and a convenience distance wise I WOULD NOT use this pharmacy again. I'm only leaving a review in hopes they will see it and make some changes in service. Very poor customer service. Went to the floral department to get a bouquet of flowers wrapped, no one was there so I pressed the button they have to call someone for help. No one came for about 5-10 minutes. Then I read a sign that was sitting on the counter that said "Sorry we missed you, please see someone in Customer Service for help". Thinking that okay maybe they can call someone in the store that can help me or maybe employees that work in customer service can help me I go to customer service and no ones there. There was a gentleman standing in front of me that had waited for a while as well. Finally this blonde boy walks up to customer service to help and as he's walking away I ask if there was any chance he could call someone to help me in floral. He looks at me annoyed and says "there's no one in floral". So I asked "there's no one in the entire store that can help me with wrapping a bouquet?" He goes "nope" and walks away. Maybe for a busy store and during the holidays, you should either train someone on every shift in wrapping a bouquet of flowers, or schedule accordingly! Or at least show some remorse when you don't have a service that your corporate office provides you to offer to customers! read more

I always shop here and if you shop right and take advantage of the Safeway app and the coupons etc you can save quite a bit. Always been pretty happy here. Produce could be a little better priced but overall I keep coming here plus you get gas rewards so that's a bonus. Pharmacy staff is great from the technicians to the Pharmacist. Prices are seriously lower than even Rite Aid...but even if they weren't the cheapest...we would still shop here because of the level of excellent SERVICE! When dealing with my medication...I don't want the Pharmacist so rushed or distracted that he can't take a moment to talk with me in a calm relaxed manner. This isn't a problem with Safeway! The Pharmacist alway takes the time to clearly explain my meds, dosage and side effects if any. You may 'cheap' out on other things, but not that! As for the store itself, I've always found the produce fresh and the Meat dept. good. Oh and do try their Deli sandwiches...excellent build your own selection. You can make your sandwich huge if you choose, or as thin as you like. They have a large selection of the latest magazines. Love the cheaper gas prices. Sometimes as low as Costco...or if it's just pennies higher than Costco, we just buy it at Safeway to save time and gas running around. read more

This is an awesome Safeway. They have excellent customer service, I've always gotten help that goes above and beyond when I've needed it. They carry all kinds of different products, I especially appreciate their allergen free selections. My son has multiple allergies and I can ALWAYS find food for him that he likes. The meat department is really knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions, which I really appreciate. The deli department has always been helpful and quick. The cashiers are friendly and sociable and I always get help quickly at customer service. I haven't been to the starbucks, or used the bank in the store, so I can't speak to those areas. read more

I go here often since they are open until midnight. They usually have everything well stocked, perhaps too well stocked. As one employee told me a few weeks ago, they tend to over order so they don't run out of anything. That's fine for non-perishable items, but when it comes to fruits and veggies, I would rather they run out than sell rotten food. I got 6 firm honey mangoes here about 4 hours ago. I cut into 4 of them just now and 2 were completely rotten. I'd rather they run out than waste my money. Almost any time I try to get basil here, it's moldy. Great Safeway for the following reasons. 1. Convenient location that is fairly easy to get in and get out of. 2. Produce and meats are better then most Safeways and that's probably because there is a Bel-Air right across the street making this one up it's standards. 3. Very good gas prices and again probably because there are two other competing gas stations right there. 4. Starbucks inside this location, but they're a kind of slow so if you're in a rush you might think about going across the street. 5. Employees are really nice and actually ask if you need help with anything. 6. Clean and spacious store. The only downfall for this location is you get a lot of schools, church groups and things like girl scouts sitting outside the front door asking for donations or trying to sell something, so sometimes you feel guilty for not donating anything. Other then that, this Safeway is pretty awesome. read more

Average Safeway, produce is okay but you have to be careful what you buy. They always have pretty good sales on liqueur but beer is over priced. I do not buy anything in the bakery normally because when I went to pick up a bagel fruit flys were all over them, it really Grossed me out. I come into this Safeway every week to get a sandwich and usually my experience is fairly positive. I wish I remembered the names of the people who've made my sandwiches recently because they've been wonderful. Unfortunately today the lady was absolutely rude, cut the bread so unevenly that the thin half is falling apart as I was trying to eat it. I didn't know it was so hard to make a sandwich. She also tried to spread avocado on the turkey, I'm not sure if this is a special technique but I've never seen it and it resulted in the turkey getting shredded and everything falling off the sandwich. But in all if she had been kind I would have let it slide because we all have off days, but I couldn't stand how rude she was. I felt as though I had completely inconvenienced her. read more

What an amazing store with even amazing staff!! Amara the cashier during the night hours was very helpful, friendly and put a big smile on my face. She helped me find the Cadbury eggs! The floral department has also been amazing to me during every experience. I can't remember her name but whoever worked on 1/21/18 at 12:30pm deserves a huge pat on the back for the amazing customer service! This store is doing nothing to enforce having customers wear a mask in order to shop. I watched employees at checkout look at customers without masks and not say a thing. When I asked why they weren't enforcing the mask requirement they said it's to dangerous for them to do so and that Safeway provides no security assistance. The employees said they even had to stop having an employee at the entrance because employees were being threatened and Safeway has taken no steps to protect them. The employees I spoke to were in agreement that everyone should have to wear masks to shop but that corporate needs to step up & give them support to enforce the rules. It's very sad that Safeway doesn't value the health and well being of their employees and customers more. read more

Thai is a terrific neighborhood store. The staff are friendly, and, with a little work (spending time in the Safeway app before going to the store) I can save an average of 33% off my bill. Great location! Love the hours and that they have their gas station. According to my schedule, the store is never busy and the gas pump is always available without a wait. I love the floral department. It's my go-to for when I buy flowers for my mom. Fair prices and they usually last awhile. Only suggestion I would have would be to have more than 2 checkers. There shouldn't be lines extending into the aisles at 8pm on a weekday. Otherwise, thumbs up! read more

I shop at Safe way a fair amount! I always look forward to their Ad's each week!. Unfortunately I have been Very Very disappointed the past 2 times that I have went in on a Friday( mid-day) to pick up some steaks for grilling. I wanted the value packs advertised & each time they only had 1 or 2 to choose from. I asked the man in the meat dept. If they had any more in back & of course both times he comes back & tells me that's all for now or wait 20/30 minutes. You would think if this is in" YOUR AD", you would have more to choose from then 1 Very Fatty porterhouse pkg or T- bone pkg with not even an ounce of meat/filet on the other side. I call that a New your steak w/ a bone. I wanted 3 pkg for Saturday but since he said their were none available & didn't seem to have the time for me I left & went to Bel Air across the street & purchased.
