Please don't nbuy meat from Safeway on Pleasant Grove and Fiddyment. I actually know a little about cuts of meat. I went in and asked for Prime Filet. Nothing! only Choice. I bought a 3/4 lb filet. By the time I trimmed all the fat off ( Remember, Filets don't have fat.) I had less than 1/2 a pound. not bad! Charge 3/4 of a pound, and only give the 1/2 a pound. Nice profit. Passing through the area, we decided to stop to grab some pastries for an afternoon snack. Probably don't need more sweets in my belly, but it's hard to resist. This looked like a newer Safeway, the lot's big and clean. It was a hot and sunny day and I used the building for shade which meant parking on the east side of the store. At first, I almost pulled into one of the golf cart spaces! What the heck?! I was kind of confused as there weren't any golf carts parked at the time, so I thought those were regular spots at first and started to pull in only to realize they're tiny spots so I backed up and then saw the golf cart signs. Never seen that. Apparently there's a golf course community right next door so to tap into that customer base, Safeway put in golf cart spots, smart move. Anyways, while the wife and daughter did the heavy lifting of shopping, me and the big boy were more window shopping. The store's big, but probably about the same size as our regular store near Sac City College. This one's got a bigger butcher dept though I feel. I'm always looking at the meats and seafood, but especially the meats, some good prices, and very fresh, too bad we didn't have our cooler with us so we didn't feel comfortable buying perishable meats as we were headed to several other places after this. I also checked out the snacks, cereal, and drinks aisles. All stocked nicely, lots of choices, I liked the sparking water they had on sale out front, decent deal. I spotted a golf cart on the way back to my car, funny to see folks cart over for grocery, reminds me of how it is in Rancho Murrieta too, not that I've been there much, but that town's supposed to be the same way, lots of golf carts. All in all, this is a nice new supermarket. We're regulars at Safeway, so this is a good option to shop at when we're in the area. read more

Adj: Nice and New, Shiny Supermarket Brand New Safeway in West Roseville, it's actually about a year old now, but new to me. It's a really nice store! Bright, clean, open, spacious. The layout is similar to other Safeway stores I've been to, the front of the store has the floral department which had a myriad of flowers, plants, and bouquets to choose from. It was Valentine's and Chinese New Year season when I visited and the variety was extra abundant, I even saw Chinese lucky bamboo plants! I had to take pictures of all the flowers and potted plants, lol... The next section is produce and it's all quite fresh and buying sale items would be a good deal, otherwise, some of their produce can be pricey, but that's true at any grocery store these days. Moving onto the meat and seafood sections, I saw really fresh cuts of fish of all kinds, and the butcher counter was stocked well with all types of meats too. I needed some pantry stable cans and those are also fully stocked and nicely stacked and easy to find what I was looking for. Walking around to get a feel of the whole store, their dairy, bread, freezer, and deli were all very nicely organized and well stocked too. We also had to grab some pastries in their bakery and they had a pretty good variety left for a Sunday afternoon when many people usually grab donuts and other sweet goodies in the morning, leaving not much left after, but we found several kinds of croissants, muffins, turnovers, donuts, bagels, and rolls and grab 1-2 of each kind to fuel us for the week. As for service, checkout was quick as we just did self-checkout, but the staff supervising the SCO area was helpful and friendly. Overall, I'm glad we stopped by this Safeway as it's a nice and new one, and bright and shiny! There's a Starbucks in this one as per usual with all the new branches and this part is interesting, apparently there's a golf course community right next door b/c there's golf-cart parking on one side of the store, no wonder hubby was a little confused about those spots at first, lol... We'll definitely stop by here again for easy and excellent grocery shopping next time we're in Roseville. read more

I selected a cake from the bakery casing for my stepfather's birthday. I was so pleased with the service I received and how kind the employee was when checking me out. They took time to ask me how my day was and truly were interested in my response. I was also very happy with the texture and quality of the cake. I got the black and white traditional diner cake. Stopped in as we needed groceries but a coffee from starbies was also on the list!! This new Starbucks is super hit or miss - they need more employees as always seem overwhelmed and understaffed - the line was long behind us as the gir made our two coffees herself - she was ringing and making. The store is new and clean but I noticed that some of our items were listed as cheaper than they rang up - so watch the receipt - the meat section is well stocked and they are super friendly - we got some lobster tails and we chatted with the butchers - overall a good experience!! read more

Even though there's one closer to home, I choose to drive 20 minutes to this location because it's just that much better. So much to choose from along with it being a very clean store. Visited on a Friday and loved the extra touches: they had cheese sampling and tequila tasting in the deli area, plus Nathan's all-beef hot dog samples near the sandwich station, where you could also buy a hot dog for just $1.49. It made the shopping experience feel fun and engaging. The store is always clean and well-organized. Being a newer location, everything feels fresh, and they have a really great selection of fruit and grab-and-go food items at excellent prices. One of my favorite parts is the flower section--it's always fully stocked with beautiful arrangements. The florists here do an amazing job putting together bouquets that feel thoughtful and vibrant. Loved how the florist put my arrangement together. It came out beautiful. Even with a Safeway nearby, this one is worth the extra drive every time. read more

Gorgeous new Safeway store! We were impressed! Stopped by because a friend raved about the produce department's strawberry shortcake over and over. So we decided to check out this new location, especially since my husband has a special affinity with Safeway stores. We went on a Saturday evening and parking was plentiful. It was surprisingly chill and I commented to my husband that it feels much more relaxed compared to the Safeway near home. Walked in and there was so much to look at. Everything was perfectly arranged and decorated. They had so much cool stuff, items I've never even seen before like pink pineapple! They also have exclusive deals that are only available at this location. There were signs for a T-Bone line, for example. The store is delightful to walk around and all the employees we met were very friendly and you could tell they loved their job. Even my husband said, "It must be great for an employee to work at a brand new store like this!" I totally agreed. We went in to check out the strawberry shortcake (which wasn't bad, btw) but ended up also getting a cabbage and a few other things including two cherimoyas. These are probably my favorite fruits in the world but I haven't had one in probably a decade. I remember when Raley's/Bel Air used to sell them for $5.99/lb and I hesitated to buy them then because that was so expensive! But we worked hard this month so I decided to splurge a little and treat myself to some cherimoyas, which were $9.99/lb. Hope they're good! They look better than the ones you can find at places like Ranch 99 that sometimes don't ripen. We shall see. (ETA: Cherimoyas were great. We went back a few days later and they were sold out!) Definitely a nice addition to the area that badly needed a grocery store closer to the huge influx of new residents around Fiddyment. Feels more upscale and higher end than most Safeways I've been to. Feels like they're trying to compete with Whole Foods, Nugget, Bel Air, etc. Fun place to walk around and see all the interesting and unique items they have available, that you don't usually find in your typical Safeway. Was in the area and popped in to get a few items instead of my usual Safeway. Love the layout and how spacious it is. Not so many specialty displays that make it hard to navigate the aisles. Products were easy to find even with it not being my usual market. Cashier was super friendly greeting me when transaction started and carefully bagged all my groceries. This is a shiny brand new store that just opened on 3/5/25. It's not your typical Safeway with the typical layout & only typical products. Definitely a fancier shopping experience. We visited twice during the first week when it was still a bit of a madhouse with sampling, balloons, sales, & crazy checkout lines. The staff we encountered were so pleasant to interact with. The cheese & charcuterie section is impressive. There are lots of ready made food, including "Asian Eats" & a variety of cooked chicken. They also have a large Boar's Head deli area. A Starbucks is located just inside with a large seating area. The meat counter had Wagyu. The seafood counter had several different types of oysters. The bakery had some pretty looking sweets. Brook & Aisa were proactively so friendly & helpful. We made direct purchases of some small cakes. Still haven't done a deep dive for groceries yet, but it will be nice to do regular shopping in such a nice setting. read more

New store opened..we wanted to check out the deals we heard about..of course you need your card membership to get these deals. We found a few..99 cent lbs ribs, sale on Ben & Jerrys ice creams. Avocados not sure if that was a deal but price seemed good like the avocados. They had to store displays set up around the store. That spring / summer feel. Really enjoy my shopping experience at this beautiful Safeway location on Pleasant Grove and Fiddyment in West Roseville. Beautiful interior with large spacious displays and aisles. Always a few great bargains in just about every section of the store. Very knowledgeable and helpful employees. Very convenient to have the Safeway gas station on the property with its competitive fuel prices and further discounts with grocery purchases. The fresh produce section is one of the largest I have seen in any grocery store, The nicest Safeway in the area with quality service to match. read more

The newest Safeway in Roseville. It's giant size. It's clean and bright. Everything looks top notch. A sales associate helped me in the wine section. Super happy and friendly guy. This Safeway is 3 miles from my house. There is another older, but still really nice, Safeway 300 yards from my house. I like this new one better. If I want my food shopping day to be an adventure I'll come here for the higher entertainment value. read more

Butcher counter pales in comparison to the Blue Oaks Safeway in both quality and customer service. 2 years ago, we got a fantastic cut of meat for some beef wellington. Figured new Safeway would be just as good. Wrong we were. Instead of getting the "center cuts" we custom ordered, we received end cuts. When we asked for help from someone behind the counter, they said we got what we asked for and we should have specified center cut for beef wellington. When we told them to look at the order, whoops, we got it wrong. Nothing we can or WILL do for you at this point besides say we don't have anything for you here. So, what did we do? My wife spent an hour of her time trimming nearly a full pound of fat from these. Seems pretty excessive for $25 per pound beef. We were explicit on the custom order form that this cut was for beef wellington and how absolutely fatty these $90 pieces of beef were. Reached out to corporate and both times was told someone from the store would contact me. It is painfully obvious that this store is NOT interested in addressing this issue. read more

Slow as molasses hope you are jot in a hurry or need to be somewhere. 1 lane open. This BS about self check out. Grrrr. I do their job and they want me to pay same price. I refuse to go thru them and cant if buying liqueur. So stuck in the "regular" line one of one unless you do self check. Lady scans my items, computer does not take off the buy one get one and I ask her about it. She states it will come off at the end to which I reply all the other items are coming off as you go. She keeps ringing my items up. I also have a 10$ off coupon if you spend 50 which is the only reason I went. Havnt been to Safeway in years. Figured id give it another try. And now i remember why I dont shop there. Yay for Raleys/Belair the ten dollrs did not take off either and I questioned her on that. She said it should have. I then said well look and see and it had not so 8$ and 10$ is a total of 18 dollars if i wasnt paying attention. In this economy every penny counts. Watch as they ring items up is all i'm saying. Safeway staff is always very friendly and greet me whenever passing by. Well stocked and clean. The only thing is the past 3 visited I've had I come back home with a spill. The meat isn't packaged well. The meat juice spills through the bag and on my car seat, all over the other groceries I just purchased and on my floor. The first 2 times didn't bother me but this is the 3rd time. I have to wipe everything down and not sure if the meat is even good at this point. I'm already inconvenienced cleaning it all up don't wanna have to make another trip back same day. read more

This Safeway (and its gas station) is the newest location in West Roseville and it shows -- the store is modern, bright, and easy to navigate. The layout makes sense, and everything feels clean and well-kept. The produce section stands out: fruits and vegetables are consistently fresh, well-stocked, and attractively displayed. Shelves throughout the store are organized, and checkout has been efficient during my visits. The staff here deserve a mention too -- they've been polite, attentive, and willing to help when I've had questions. One word of caution: the parking lot can be a bit hectic. Children from the nearby McDonald's sometimes ride e-bikes or scooters quickly through the lot without paying much attention to cars. Just something to be aware of so everyone stays safe. Overall, this is a very nice Safeway to shop at, with great selection, fresh produce, and friendly service. Definitely one of the better grocery options in the area. read more

I ordered a corsage for prom and they said it would be ready Friday after 5. We went at about 5:30 and I was told that floral went home and I would have to come back tomorrow. The day of prom! All I wanted was for someone to go in the cooler and grab my already made corsage but they said they could not do that. They were super rude and next time I will not go to them for my floral needs. Will NEVER go into the new Safeway on Pleasant Grove and Fiddyment again.. First Thursday I had a rude experience with their Starbucks worker. I came in all happy to be able to get myself a Starbucks (doesn't happen often for this momma and I was given a gift card for Christmas) and was excited since there was no line.. then the workers just stood there staring at me like I was annoying them.. Never said a word. So I said nevermind and walked out.. Which then when I walked back to my car with no coffee and upset. Which then my husband went into defense mode and walked in to tell the workers to do their job. I called management and he told me to come in for a coffee and ask for him.. Anyways I went in today to get that coffee.. It was all going well, I waited around to let them help others around me.. 20 minutes and Steve (the manager) still no call back or coming up to customer service.. At that point the assistant manager asked me to just grab a giftcard and she would put money on it for the coffee.. right as she was scanning it up, Steve came over and introduced himself. He then begin to tell me he watched the cameras and the reason none of his employees said anything to me was they thought I was going to keep talking... and why couldn't they smile then or even a Hello would be nice‍ and then told me my husband isn"t alone back in the store.. Very rudely btw I told him I was very sorry for my what my husband said but I wasn't in the store at that time so I'm not sure %100 on what he said but he was also reacting to his wife entering the car upset.. I then said I didn't want a coffee and he was making me feel really uncomfortable so then he begin getting even more rude yelling "how?" Anyways if you have made it this far, thank you.. I had to take a few minutes in my car after to even be able to drive home.. I just can't believe thats how the store manager spoke to me!! The store is HUGE, fancy, shiny and new. They have a much larger selection than regular Safeways in the area. I have been a few times since opening day and they've been giving out samples which is a plus. I hope they continue with that My only complaint is the parking lot. I'm always afraid that someone is going to hit me, it's so small and hard to navigate. read more

I live next door and I don't shop here. They never have what they advertise so I end up going to Woodcreek Safeway. They put in too many extra shops for such a small location. Parking is very tight. 1/17/2026 Pleasant grove Safeway delivery order. Expensive lean ground beef was expired. 2 bunched of green onion were soaking wet and falling apart. celery had dark spots was old not edible. Submlitted & called for refund 2X. Safeway sent email evaluating possible refund. last call after 3 weeks of not hearing finally got refund. Also other items in my order were substituted when I explicitly stated no substitutes read more

Went in tonight for produce and was very disappointed. Left without buying anything. Produce was sad and wilted. Everything looked expired or close to it. Strawberries with mold. I think the newness has worn off and they aren't moving product like they did at opening. The other Safeways have fresh produce and clean displays. The cashier Kristi very rude. She rang up my order and some of the things bought did not show up as clipped. She was very condescending and so I told her I did not want the items. She got even nastier, called a manager which I was glad. The manager just stood there and did nothing. She gave me the price that was clipped. I went home found ouut multiple items were not given to me on the sale price. So went back and proved on my phone that they were in fact clipped already. We ordered a petite cake and 48 cupcakes from the bakery for my sons first birthday. We were so happy with the cake and cupcakes. The colors matched our theme perfectly. Everyone loved how they tasted and the birthday boy ate almost half of his cake. The staff were so incredible and we are so thankful that they made our sons first birthday so special.
