    Flower selection

Even though there's one closer to home, I choose to drive 20 minutes to this location because it's just that much better. So much to choose from along with it being a very clean store. Visited on a Friday and loved the extra touches: they had cheese sampling and tequila tasting in the deli area, plus Nathan's all-beef hot dog samples near the sandwich station, where you could also buy a hot dog for just $1.49. It made the shopping experience feel fun and engaging. The store is always clean and well-organized. Being a newer location, everything feels fresh, and they have a really great selection of fruit and grab-and-go food items at excellent prices. One of my favorite parts is the flower section--it's always fully stocked with beautiful arrangements. The florists here do an amazing job putting together bouquets that feel thoughtful and vibrant. Loved how the florist put my arrangement together. It came out beautiful. Even with a Safeway nearby, this one is worth the extra drive every time.

    Cherimoyas and a blep!

Gorgeous new Safeway store! We were impressed! Stopped by because a friend raved about the produce department's strawberry shortcake over and over. So we decided to check out this new location, especially since my husband has a special affinity with Safeway stores. We went on a Saturday evening and parking was plentiful. It was surprisingly chill and I commented to my husband that it feels much more relaxed compared to the Safeway near home. Walked in and there was so much to look at. Everything was perfectly arranged and decorated. They had so much cool stuff, items I've never even seen before like pink pineapple! They also have exclusive deals that are only available at this location. There were signs for a T-Bone line, for example. The store is delightful to walk around and all the employees we met were very friendly and you could tell they loved their job. Even my husband said, "It must be great for an employee to work at a brand new store like this!" I totally agreed. We went in to check out the strawberry shortcake (which wasn't bad, btw) but ended up also getting a cabbage and a few other things including two cherimoyas. These are probably my favorite fruits in the world but I haven't had one in probably a decade. I remember when Raley's/Bel Air used to sell them for $5.99/lb and I hesitated to buy them then because that was so expensive! But we worked hard this month so I decided to splurge a little and treat myself to some cherimoyas, which were $9.99/lb. Hope they're good! They look better than the ones you can find at places like Ranch 99 that sometimes don't ripen. We shall see. (ETA: Cherimoyas were great. We went back a few days later and they were sold out!) Definitely a nice addition to the area that badly needed a grocery store closer to the huge influx of new residents around Fiddyment. Feels more upscale and higher end than most Safeways I've been to. Feels like they're trying to compete with Whole Foods, Nugget, Bel Air, etc. Fun place to walk around and see all the interesting and unique items they have available, that you don't usually find in your typical Safeway. They even have some dumplings and wontons that we usually have to trek to South Sac to get!

This is a shiny brand new store that just opened on 3/5/25. It's not your typical Safeway with the typical layout & only typical products. Definitely a fancier shopping experience. We visited twice during the first week when it was still a bit of a madhouse with sampling, balloons, sales, & crazy checkout lines. The staff we encountered were so pleasant to interact with. The cheese & charcuterie section is impressive. There are lots of ready made food, including "Asian Eats" & a variety of cooked chicken. They also have a large Boar's Head deli area. A Starbucks is located just inside with a large seating area. The meat counter had Wagyu. The seafood counter had several different types of oysters. The bakery had some pretty looking sweets. Brook & Aisa were proactively so friendly & helpful. We made direct purchases of some small cakes. Still haven't done a deep dive for groceries yet, but it will be nice to do regular shopping in such a nice setting.

New store opened..we wanted to check out the deals we heard about..of course you need your card membership to get these deals. We found a few..99 cent lbs ribs, sale on Ben & Jerrys ice creams. Avocados not sure if that was a deal but price seemed good like the avocados. They had to store displays set up around the store. That spring / summer feel. Every employee we talked with was very friendly and helpful.

Online order has been ok until I received expired meat that was clearly looking gnarly. Meat department should've caught it and the person shopping for my order! Spoke to Eddie in meat department to give feedback. He was a d**k. Spoke to store manager, hopefully he takes action by speaking with online shoppers and meat department customer service.

$25 per pound should not have this much fat.

The shop is set up in an interesting way where you enter through the produce section and snake around to the main shopping area. I thought this was cool at first but realized the way they have it set up to get back to produce you either have to go past the cash registers (which I think they don't want) or loop back around to get up front again. I typically like picking up produce last so it's on the top of my cart/basket so I ended up heading back that way at the end. The rest of the shopping visit was pretty typical and I loved the selection of items they had. I ended up picking up some cheeses, yogurt, noodles, and grapes during this visit. The prepared section did look nice, and if I hadn't already eaten lunch I would have grabbed something here. The staff member who helped me was friendly too.

It was my first time stopping at this location and the store orientation was a little different than some others I've visited. I noticed the frozen aisles had a nice amount of space, which probably helps when they're crowded. I was able to find everything I was looking for. Some of my Trader Joe's staples are the string cheese, white corn, salted sunflower seeds, Fusilli Corti Bucati Pasta, and couscous. Of course I picked up a bunch of other items, including some candles, room spray, treats for my dog, and some impulse candy buys (mango and passion fruit chocolate cups- YES PLEASE!). I had a great experience shopping during this less busy time, and the staff was super friendly. If I'm in the area again I'll definitely make a point to stop in!

I guess you're supposed to decorate them, but I am too lazy to craft. I must resist entering TJ's so often! The bill adds up quickly. I hope you, too, can resist spending there.

Their ads come out Tuesday night on the handy Safeway app. The old school way (cutting coupons from ads) is still availablel. For the discounts, you can use your phone number. That gets you member prices, which saves you money. Without signing up for the Safeway membership, you will pay a substantial amount more. This store is very clean. It's nice to grab yourself a coffee at Starbucks while you shop. All the departments work very hard to maintain an organized space, although there are hiccups here and there. They have great weekly specials. One that I am fond of is their "$5 Friday," where they offer an items/items for a deal. At this store, if they are out of that item that is part of their $5 Friday, you snooze you lose. For example, Safeway was offering the beef short ribs at just $5 a pound in their meat deptartment back in mid January, but they ran out. Normally, if they're out of an item that's on sale, you can request what's called a "rain check" at check out. This "rain check" is good for 30 days after it is given to you. I just found out they do not offer "rain checks" at this store for $5 Friday items, as said by the new night manager on Friday February 6th. Thankfully, it was already provided to me in mid January by an employee that also did not know this was a rule. So they honored it. At this store, "rain checks" are available on other items that are on sale in the ad during the week. Since this Safeway is not close to where I live, two other Safeway's have told me they offer it on all items all the time because they want to keep the customers coming back. Even on the $5 Friday items. So, for the inconvenience of having to go to another store because of this, I did drop my star rating by 2. I like using self checkout. It is easy and quick. The card systems take Apple and Android pay. There is a checker available to help you if you run into any issues. One person watches over about 6-8 self check out stations. Regular check stands are still available, too. I won't stop coming to this store. My client lives around the corner and she has her favorite Safeway items, like that roasted chicken I just picked up for her. She loves drinking Sprite and about every other week, Sprite will go on sale at Safeway's as "buy 2, get 2 free" and every so often, "buy 2 get 3 free." How can you pass up a deal like that?!
