    Chicken Wrap

Quick service. Tasty wrap. Portable for travel wrap if you must have a bowl , do that. Right across from city market - B concourse. Well lit.

They have really good options when you are looking for a fresh lunch option. You choose your protein and choose whether you want a rice bowl or salad. We ordered the chicken rice bowl. We topped it with spciy bbq. Let me tell you, only get this option if you can take really spicy because it's nothing less of that. The service was quick and the lady taking our order was kind. Since it's an order and carry out place, the ambiance wasn't really anything to quote about. I'd stop by here again if I wanted a decent meal in this area of the airport.

    Greek bowl + buffalo wrap.

Honestly... Not good at all. Dry and stale as h*ck. I'm a raccoon of a person and *I* didn't even finish my wrap. My friends bowl sucked too. Service was fine and pleasant. Vibes were nonexistent, but that's fine bc who cares; it's a salad counter.

    Chicken Avocado Wrap

I came here for dinner before my flight and got the chicken avocado wrap. It came with grilled chicken but I asked for crispy chicken. They were super accommodating. The food was very fresh and tasted good. The onions, lettuce, avocado, and lime ranch dressing were all tasty. However, I did think the wrap could be improved by putting the avocados throughout the wrap instead of only at the bottom. She also made my wrap bigger and had a harder time closing it. But the wrap was delicious with good flavors and I'm glad I was able to try it. Glad there's this healthy and fast option available and I'm glad the staff here seem flexible with substituting sauces and types of meat. Definitely a solid healthy option at the airport.

The dry chicken was hard and inedible in the Rooster Crow morning wrap.

The OPPOSITE of Fresh. I had the Rooster Crow morning wrap... the eggs are fake, the chicken was old and dry, and the plain flour tortilla is cold... who serves a breakfast wrap cold??

Laughably small portions. Staff was rude to us. Disappointing because it's the only health option. I'd rather eat a greasy burger.

You order at the counter when you walk in, so it has a casual, almost cafeteria-style setup, but the space itself is BEAUTIFUL. The building has so much character, history and gorgeous architecture, and the decor gives very warm, rustic, farm-to-table, homegrown vibes. There are interesting little details everywhere you look. It also seems to be a great daytime meeting spot. Kansas City is apparently still a very small town because during one lunch I randomly ran into both a friend from undergrad AND an old coworker I hadn't seen in forever. I ordered the Salmon BLT and really enjoyed it. The salmon was delicious, the brioche was great, and even the chips were good. If I could change one thing, I think a slice of cheese would take the sandwich up another notch. Provolone would be good, but pepper jack might really set it off. Overall, my food was wonderful, I loved the atmosphere, and it's a great choice for lunch when you want something casual but still want to sit somewhere with personality. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Normally a second stop on such short timeline is a non-option, but that Steak Chimi had me asking questions... Is she really like that? Knocking my socks off with ease and leaving my cuticles filled with buttery remember-me's. I had to see her again. Had to! On the second time of asking, I wanted to see if she danced a different tune just as well. Putting on a Chicken Cobb for size proved ill-fitting, at least stood beside THAT sandwich. Nothing to make me crawl back with a humbling desperation. Inflation makes your lunch $10-15 already, so may as well make it twenty, order the right thing, and the Russell becomes worth frequenting. Just make sure she's wearing her shooting boots - we don't have room to thirst for Cobbs y'all.

When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

Okay Modern Market, I see you…read more I was on the hunt for a healthy-ish spot for lunch (I mean, hello it is January), when I came upon Modern Market Eatery on Yelp. Upon doing some research I learned it's a scratch kitchen specializing in clean eats, and that it's a chain. A win for the health options, a ding for the chain, but not all chains are bad, an we are living in a time where there are some winners. So, I packed myself up and headed down the road to Prairie Village. It's still fairly new, and it has that squeaky clean feeling to it when you arrive. Inside it's counter service and you seat yourself (they will bring the food to you). It kind of reminded me of how Noodles and Company felt when they first became a thing way back in the early 2000s. I ordered a thai salad that came in at under 400 calories so I was honestly skeptical at how big or flavorful it would really be when it arrived, and holy cow was it good. The chicken was cold, but still held some flavor, the dressing was great, there were fresh veggies, pickled onions. It was one of the best 400 calorie meals I've had in a long time. My dad ordered the salmon curry and he also enjoyed his though I didn't try it so jury's out on my opinion! I left full and happy to have discovered this spot. I'll be back soon!

The fire roasted veggies were not seasoned except for a bit of turmeric but it didn't really have a taste. Overall the food was good and very fresh but the price was a bit high.
