This review is for Sagano Fenton. First off, our party was served by Skylar. She is an amazingly positive server, extremely efficient and friendly; especially considering the circumstances. Skylar is worth 5 stars. The experience does not even warrant a single star! The meals were mediocre, at best. Chef did his job, nothing extra. I wish the entire tip went to the server, Skylar deserved it. The worst part was the air conditioning is not working in their building. With the temps in the high 80s and high humidity, no air inside a restaurant, especially sitting next to a hibachi grill, was nearly unbearable. For the protection of customers and employees, they are still wearing masks. I appreciate the consideration, however, it was miserable for them. Ordered carry out here, they told me it would be about 20 mins, not only did they make my order incorrectly and not offer to fix it without a charge, but they took 45 mins. We were still waiting for my SO's order, and I was starving from waiting so I started to eat my food when the manager proceeded to come over and tell me I could not eat my food at the cocktail tables and repeatedly tell me as I'm putting it away with a quite rude tone. I placed a pick up order. When I arrived and walked into the restaurant and approached the cashier. She was on the phone. While I waited I read the sign on the counter "Check your order prior to leaving, once you are gone we can't help you". That should have been a red flag! Who has to post that unless you mess up orders all the time or it is done on purpose. When the sushi chef finished my order he gave it to the owner to put in a carry out bag and he told me that was my order and that gentleman would finish it for me. I went over to the owner to check my order and take it and he told me to "go wait by the bar". I stated "I need to check my order" and he stated "go". He was kind enough to tie the bag closed knowing I wanted to check it. I got the order and opened it at the sushi bar. I order rolls with crunch on top. There was so much crunch I couldn't see how much was there without pulling the sushi out onto plates. I took it. When I got home I pulled out plated and shockingly it was short by 2 eight piece rolls, 16 pieces short. You know sushi isn't cheap! In addition, the California rolls has large pieces of cucumber so there wasn't much crab stick in them and many of them fell apart. Very disappointed. The owner is rude and the food isn't good. Came here for my birthday and again for a friend's birthday. Sushi is good. Halley is a great waitress outside of that....TERRIBLE Seaweed salad was frozen. Yes, frozen. One of my favorite places in Fenton. The food is undeniably fresh and cooked to perfection. The ginger dressing on their salads is delicious! The only thing I don't like is when they throw chicken pieces, but I tell them not for me and they honor that. Other people seem to enjoy it. I always leave very full and satisfied, often bringing a box home. Dinner is approximately $20 to $40 a person depending on your choice of meats. Lunch is just as delicious and costs a few dollars less. Their scallops are delicious, but only available at dinner. I enjoy meeting new people and being entertained watching the chef. They do move you out rather quickly, but that is understandable since they need the table for the next lucky guests! read more

Food was cold even though I arrived prior to the time they game me. Main meal was very bland, no seasoning and if it wasn't for the yum yum sauce I don't think I would have even eaten it! Let's just start out with the food was ok. My wife and I arrived at 7:00pm and we were immediately seated my wife ordered some sushi and I was going to get hibachi. At 7:07 the wife got a plate of sushi and hadn't even received the soup or salad. Needless to say she ate her plate entirely before our chef even pulled up to the table to cook hibachi. He did that a lt 7:50 we literally waited for almost an hour until he even arrived to start cooking. I wanted to say something to a manager but there was no one in the restaurant that looked over the age of twenty. Once the food was prepared I asked for a to go box and we left. I was then approached again as if I was in the way. To be rushed out of a place after waiting an hour to eat was extremely rude. Then called again when they opened for dinner and they said there is nothing they can do. They don't take allergies serious and have horrible customer service. Great food and I love the staff. Sitting at the sushi bar is great, watching the chefs carefully prepare the sushi is one of my favorite things. The restaurant has 2 halves, one of traditional japanese food and the other is a teppanyaki. Both are delicious The layout inside is kind of strange, it gets cramped inside often and I've seen it get pretty disorganized and even mess up the flow of the restaurant. A lot of people say go down to Goki Goki, but their are way too expensive and their good isn't worth the asking cost. Sagano is well worth the cost and the quality. The wait staff leaves a lot to desired at times, can be slow if they even check up on you. The Sushi staff is amazing and made sure I was taken care of more than my waiter. The cooks in the hibachi are amazing, friendliest people I have talked to. They may zone out at times when people go to watch the show and then proceed to talk to each other and ignore the cook, ruins the experience if you get stuck with a group like that. read more

The thrilling preparation is practically the definition of "dinner and a show." However, our pre-dinner experience nearly RUINED the entire night. We arrived three minutes after the restaurant officially opens for dinner and was told there was a 45 minute wiat. 50 minutes later, when one of our party went back to the hostess counter, we were told an additional 30 minutes. A little less than 2 hours after arriving we were finally showed to our table where we would wait without drinks for 10 minutes. The staff offered no more than a curt and forced apology and the manager would not even acknowledge me when I tried to discuss our mistreatment. There was a blatant lack of concern for both our time and enjoyment. I cannot remember the last time I was treated with such abject indifference and will be sure to inform all of my friends in addition to local consumers. Our party of five would not have been upset in the slightest at being informed upon arrival that the wait on a Saturday night was an hour and a half. Nor would we have been so irate if we had once received a sincere apology or even check in from the manager acknowledging the very clear mistake on the part of the front room servers.
