Best of the best! I absolutely love Sage Biscuit and stop by for at least one breakfast every time I'm in town. It's located in a small, unassuming little shopping center with a few other restaurants/businesses. Parking can be tough on the weekends. They offer indoor and outdoor dining, which is such a treat on nice days. There's also first come first serve bar seating inside. Fair warnings the wait times can get looong on weekends but service is always solid and the food is so worth it. Their skillets, omelettes, and eggs Benedict are always fresh, big, and delicious. And Sage offers a nice mix of healthy and home style so should be something for everyone. Breakfast is served all day so I still haven't tried any of their lunch options but they look good. They do have limited alcohol selections (beer and wine based cocktails) but I usually go for the iced tea flavor of the day. Moral of the story, do yourself a favor and head to Sage biscuit, preferably on a weekday or early morning weekend! read more

My daughter had been trying to get me to go to lunch here as she has been to the one on Manatee Ave. We ordered ta bowl of carrot dill soup , my daughter got the fried green tomato grilled cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries, ( she said it was good , but probably wouldn't get it again. Just her preference. I got the House beef sandwich with sweet potatoe fries. ( wow the flavor was amazing with the arugula, caramelized onions and horseradish sauce on a baguette) Our waitress Bethany was great. My only complaint was the timing of the meal was horrible. Sage Biscuit is such a cute little place. Ton of outdoor seating around a few cute little shops. All waitresses were wearing masks at all times and the restaurant seemed pretty clean for the most part. I had a Mango Ice tea and the sage biscuit skillet. Food: 4 stars- We ordered hot Vanilla Latte and Cafe Mocha, Mediterranean Omelette with grits and sage biscuit, and Sage breakfast with eggs over medium, crispy bacon, side fruit, French toast and sage biscuit. Everything that was suppose to be cooked was hot and fresh. The coffees were good. Omelette and over easy eggs were prepared well, bacon was crisp and tasty, fruit fresh and French toast was prepared very well. The Sage biscuit was a bit over powering sage flavor and salty. This type of biscuit does not go well with jelly and I had to dump syrup to reduce sages overpowering flavor. I am a true Southern born and biscuit raised person who loves trying different takes on biscuits...but this version didn't do anything for me (might u). If your like me, stick with toast. Service: 4 stars- Bethany served us and did well. She answered our questions and checked on us multiple times. Immediately returned with items as we ask for them. Well done Bethany. We went to the one just off of Cortez & 66th. This sounded so similar to one I went to with a similar name (Flying Biscuit) that also had homemade sage biscuits. This one was a winner also! Some of the reviews I read panned the coffee. While I am far from a coffee expert, I know what I like. Strong but not bitter coffee. Sage Biscuit fit that bill completely. It is rare that I have more than two cups but, my companion was running late and I lost count of the number of cups I drank, it was that good! They had coffee also, an egg and VERY crispy bacon and toast. I opted for the veggie scramble with toast and fruit served with 2 poached eggs. The eggs were just a tad under for my liking and since I took home a large portion of my yummy breakfast, the were cooked properly for the next servings! I love this place. Was there twice on my most recent visit to the area. First visit had the Breakfast Wrap without the wrap making it a scramble and it was great. Second visit I couldn't resist my go-to: the Sage Biscuit Skillet. Substituted red peppers for the green peppers (personal choice). I have one comment about their infamous sage biscuits, FREAKIN' DELISH! I will think of these biscuits when I think of the best biscuit I ever had! Ok, this one is hard to review. Let me just start with, we picked this restaurant through Yelp like we do all our choices. They were showing a five minute wait. We waited 45 minutes. We didn't worry about it because normally that means this place must be real good. We were seated and waited a long time for water or coffee. We placed our entire order so as not to make the server have to come back repetitively. I couldn't believe how long we waited after that. I went to the bathroom, two unisex, and there must have been someone napping in them because I waited forever! I came back to the table and my family had just started eating. My food was cold and so was my coffee. I put butter on my biscuit and it did not melt at all. Which is weird because the skillet was warm. Now, about the food. YUMMMY! These guys are not fooling around, fresh ingredients, fresh biscuits, hand whipped creams, the flavors are there. It's just cold. Now, before anyone gets mad and says "there aren't enough workers to serve you! You have to be patient!". I'm not sure I agree with that for this. I will say that the hostess was sweet and helpful and our waitress was sweet and responded when we called her. The problem is that it takes a long time to deliver the food so you get cold food. I won't be back to this place this trip BUT I will give them more chances because I think they are amazing and will probably nail this most of the time. Do yourself a favor, try this place. Joined the waitlist online. Got to the restaurant only to be told they don't honor online waitlists. Got in the 20 minutes outside waitlist. Got a table right at 20 minutes. Ordered our food with the waitress. After an hour, we inquired how much longer for our food. They went to check in the kitchen and ours was the next two orders to be cooked. The issue was the 4 other tables around us that were seated AFTER us that had been served, eaten and we're sitting around chatting. Just two months ago I gave this place a rave review. Don't know what they're doing but service today was below par and food was worse. Took about 29 minutes to get cold eggs, very spicey bacon and server had to bring our toast a few minutes later. I like having my toast w my eggs. They forgot my husbands potatoes and when he got them they too were very spicey. Perhaps it's all cooked together. The coffees were good but expensive since we chose specialty brews. Fruit was bad.
