I was looking forward to my visit here but I was disappointed. My friend ordered a hamburger topped with a fried egg over medium. The waitress had a hard time understanding what over medium means, so we explained.... I ordered two pancakes, with two eggs over medium. Once again I had to eggsplain what over medium meant . The pancakes were huge! Bigger is not necessarily better because these things were rubbery and tasteless. They charged me $19 for the burger and another $4 for the egg ! Our waitress seemed out of it. Don't know if she was medicated but something wasn't right.

Second time here on a 4 day trip, we love their food. The sausage gravy is delicious and their biscuits are a must have. Service was fast and friendly. We were sat right away and food came out pretty quick. Super chill spot. The pancakes were super soft. Everything was on point. We were even offered drinks to go once we paid.

This is one our go to places for breakfast / brunch in the Bradenton area. Get there quickly as there may be a wait , but it's well worth it! Becca's chicken biscuit is jam packed with flavor and the "Heller Sauce" adds a spicy kick. Make sure to stop by & get a seat or soak up the sunlight with outside seating as well.

My mom, sister, and I decided to come to Sage biscuit cafe for brunch for a girls day. This place is always poppin with people which tells you how good it is! You can use the Yelp app to join the waitlist in advance if you'd like which is helpful. Parking is in a public lot paid with ParkMobile app, so be prepared. We each got coffees (my sister and I got iced, my mom got hot), and for entrees we got the vegan tofu scramble, Mediterranean omelette and veggie hash. The food was fantastic, and special shout out to the sage biscuits! The reason this is a 4 star review is because our server wasn't incredibly attentive; it took 3 tries to get a hot coffee. However overall wonderful place for brunch!

Tinkering back and forth between a 3 and 4 star rating, Sage Biscuit ultimately did the job, though a few facets could've been improved upon. Sunday around 1pm, we figured we'd have to wait for a table. We waited 20 minutes and were seated inside. *Pro tip* wait inside the office building to take advantage of the AC! The menu is HUGE, ranging from breakfast and brunch classics to lunch items. It was very difficult to decide and I ended up going with one of their specials, the shrimp and grits. It was a giant plate and with it being my first meal of the day around 2pm I scarfed most of it down. There were only 4 shrimp included. C'mon now, it's SHRIMP and grits after all! They loaded it with red peppers, which is fine, but it's not red peppers and grits...The grits were on the bland side and needed copious amounts of butter and salt. Again, I was starving so I ate it. But I wouldn't order it again. And though we could tell our server was in the industry for a long time (didn't write our order down) we had to wait a really long time for the check. As the restaurant was slowing down we felt neglected for a while when we needed to get a move on things. Not rushing back the next time I'm in Bradenton. But they do have a lot of seating and a large menu to accommodate different taste buds!

The good - as always was delicious. I don't think the Benedict is worth $17, but I think that's the product of the times. Coffee woke me up with the first sip. My server was super quick and proactive. I sat outside, and she never forgot about me. This restaurant will remain in my breakfast rotation.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 This place was so good we went 3 times on our 3 day stay. The first time we had Sage Biscuit Skillet, and Chicken Sandwhich. Both blew us away with the flavor. Skillet was jam packed with flavor. The chicken biscuit sandwhich was perfectly cooked with a taster sauce to dip our American fries. It was so good we went back for breakfast the next day. We got the same skillet (it was that good), a croissant sandwhich, and strawberry stuffed French toast (PHENOMENAL)! Third day we tried to go somewhere else, but the food was so bad we settle our bill and headed over to Sage.. Again, it did not disappoint. We will be returning here if we are ever in the area again!

Came here to say for a celebration brunch with coworkers. There are two locations and we all ended up after different ones and had to correct that issue lol. They have outside and inside seating. Multiple items to choose from in the menu. I will definitely say get the omelet and sage biscuit. One of the best biscuits (outside of my Nana's) that I have had. I would go back just for those! We were in the downtown Bradenton area yesterday (Monday) morning and decided to stop. It was 8a and they were not busy. Their hostess station is outside the main doors. When we arrived a server/hostess was walking a dude to an outside table and said she'd be right back. She never came back. It was so humid, I finally had to step inside where I proceeded to wait again. A customer joked with me and said just go back there and get them. I said I'm walking out before I go back and get them. Finally seated. I ordered the sage biscuits and gravy with a side of fruit instead of potatoes or grits. My husband ordered the corned beef hash with 2 over easy eggs, it came with a sage biscuit and either potatoes, grits or the fruit. He asked the server if the corned beef hash was made in house and was told yes. It was not. They did add onions and peppers to the hash, instead of serving as is from their food purveyor, so there's that. The eggs were cooked beautifully. My meal was tasty, the gravy on the biscuits could have been hotter but still delicious. The biscuits had a great flavor and were crispy around the edges. We spent over 30$ + tip for breakfast. Which I think is a bit much but they are in a commercial building and I'm sure their rent warrants this pricing. The bathroom is not in the restaurant but in the lobby of the building. I'm not sure how you get to it, I think through the server's station between the dining room and the kitchen. They have indoor outdoor seating as well as single seating at a counter. Parking is across the street and it's a pay to park lot. Your choices are 4 or 8 hours. Four hours was ~5$. We opted to take a chance and did not pay. Would I go back? I mean if that's where any of my friends or colleagues wanted to go, I would. But for me and my husband, probably not. We have great breakfast spots closer to our home and less expensive. But the biscuits were really good.

Came to Sage Biscuit Cafe to get out of our normal routine. When we arrived 2 hours prior to closing, we expected we would be seated quickly but they were still on a 45 minute wait! Atmosphere: We sat at the bar which was cozy, could have used a little more decor to feel homey but that's ok. Service: Our server was swamped and did a great job greeting us and telling us she'd be back. She gave great recommendations and the time it took to get our food was better than expected. Food: The food was above average. We got the raging burrito and the caramel brioche French toast. The burrito needed more of a sauce for which we used hot sauce. The overall flavor was very good just needed a sauce to bring it all together. The French toast was delicious! We also had a side of grits and a sage biscuit. The grits were average, a bit on the dry side. The biscuit was a must try and it did not disappoint. Drinks: The mimosa was perfect and the lattes were much better than I expected. Overall, a very positive experience and we would certainly go back.

The food was amazing! I had the half order of biscuits and gravy, and it was plenty. Eggs medium were delicious on top of them! Chicken chili was delicious! They were accommodating for my child that has celiac. They have gluten-free French toast with berries, that was delicious!

We normally visit the Cortez location which we love. But we were closer to the Manatee Ave one on our recent visit. The one negative for this location, is the amount of loud street traffic because its right next to the road . We like to visit Sage Biscuit because they are pet friendly and have outside seating. Otherwise , its probably quiet on the inside. Promptly seated and greeted. Faith was our server. A very sweet girl , friendly and conversational. I usually get lunch when visiting. Their soups and sandwiches are amazing. Today I chose to get the biscuits and gravy. Not my favorite. I realize its called " sage biscuit "and the biscuits had sage in them. To me , it was very overpowering and not sure if they make plain biscuits, they probably taste great if you have one on the side with eggs and sausage but not with the sausage gravy over the top. My stomach really bothered me after eating it for several hours . I couldn't finish it. My daughter enjoyed the crab Benedict and often gets that when we visit. The grits were creamy, hot and delicious . Was a great visit as usual to Sage Biscuit , I'll just stick to my favorites of hot delicious soups , salads and sandwiches they have. Best Crab Cake Eggs Benedict I have ever had!! The biscuits here are just perfect. The potatoes are also very flavorful and perfectly crispy. Bottom Line: A nice spot for breakfast or lunch that has some surprisingly flavorful dishes. Try the sage biscuits and sausage gravy! Sage Biscuit Cafe is a local restaurant with two locations that specializes in breakfast and lunch. The decor is a bit bland but the food is flavorful. I had the Sage Bisucuit Omelette because I wanted some eggy protein and I was curious about the namesake biscuits. I'm not much of a biscuit fan but the sage biscuits were moist and flavorful. They are good naked or with a touch of jam. I'm not sure I knew biscuits could be so good. The grits were like gruel so I passed on those! My husband had the Sage Biscuit Skillet which was a heavy mix of sausage, eggs and "Chef Joe's awesome sausage gravy." I am generally not a gravy fan but oh yes, it was awesome! They should jar it and sell it! Something that I love about Sage Biscuit is that you can get a single a la carte pancake for just over $2! I always want a little bit of sweet with my breakfast but most places require you to get an entire stack. Adding on a buttermilk pancake for just $2.29 was a huge score for me! I got the protein I needed to keep me going for the day and a little "breakfast dessert" for my sweet tooth. Oh man, I am still thinking about that sausage gravy. There is a parking lot across the street for Sage Biscuit Customers but I suspect spots are hard to come by during peak times. We went around 11:15am on a Thursday and while we were able to get a parking spot there was still a ten or 15 minute wait for a part of two. Fortunately we were able to snag two seats at the counter. read more

A delightful charming plaza breakfast cafe. Staff was excellent. Upon arriving was told there was a water stoppage and they could not serve at the time. We put our name down and as we pondered driving away they texted to say table was ready. Tiffany our waitress was great and super friendly. The service was great. The meal was really bad. They need to take shrimp and grits off the menu. It could've been the worst shrimp and grits I have ever eaten. Great visit My wife had been to this Sage Biscuit a month ago and spoke well of it, but even though it had been open for a couple of years I still had not made it. That changed today, and everything about my visit went very well. As I walked up, I was cheerfully greeted and offered seating either inside or out. My server came right over and took my drink order, then returned and took my food order. The menu listed more than a few items that sounded very good. Within 10 minutes, my Hunter Skillet arrived, a loaded skillet with a couple of eggs, topped with cheese and a bit of sour cream. I was very impressed with my skillet. Instead of a bunch of potato cubes with a scattering of toppings, this had a higher ratio of toppings. This was a skillet done right. I liked the place, and easily discovered Sage parking across the street. I'm glad I finally made it to downtown Bradenton Sage Biscuit Café. read more

I was a little hesitant with sage in my biscuit but not any more. The food at Sage Biscuits is amazing. Biscuit has a touch of sage, hence the name, and it really adds to the flavor. Gravy is truly homemade and delicious. Home fries are excellent. Everything we had was outstanding. Will definitely be back. read more

Definitely glad I followed yelp for this restaurant. The restaurant is in downtown Bradenton - my coworker and I had a meeting near the restaurant, so we opted to have lunch first. I had the healthy heart burrito, which was a vegetarian option, it was delicious! The coffee was nice and hot. Prices were very reasonable and service was good! Absolutely wonderful breakfast! I had the Sage Biscuit Omelet with biscuit & coffee, my spouse had the sausage gravy & biscuits. Everything was hot & very tasty. The staff were running around busy, they didn't have a dedicated hostess so we just had to make sure we were seen and our server sat us. I especially liked my biscuit with butter & blackberry jam, it was a breakfast dessert! The coffee was especially good, as well. I highly recommend visiting, we are only vacationing, otherwise this would be my new favorite spot for breakfast. read more

Totally love this place, my husband and ai have been here twice. This last time we went with my step daughter and her boy. Everyone loved their dish. I had the huevo ranchero, super delicious, my husband had a biscuit skillet with grits and he totally loved it. My step daughter had the croissant egg sandwich and the croissant was crispy and soft at the same time. They also shared the banana brioche french toast, to die for. Coffee was excellent. Totally recommend and looking forward to our next visit. read more

We are locals and this was our first visit. We came because of the great reviews! I love a good biscuit and this was a fun twist to an eggs Benedict. Service was great! The only thing that was weird was my water tasted a little weird. And I had to keep drinking it because the dish was a bit spicy but I was too busy clearing my plate to worry about the water. read more

Our next food adventure take us to The sage Biscuit Cafe located in bradenton, parking was easy to find in front the place, we going last Sunday for breakfast with line almost 1 hour plus 45 mts inside waiting for the waiter to take our order, she was very friendly and professional, when the food arrived it was not what we were expecting it had no flavor in fact what my wife ordered gave her bad digestion she had a bad stomach all day that is her favorite breakfast egg benedictine, the person in the kitchen should do another job for that what he cooks has no flavor. read more

Ridiculous wait. Party of one and it's 40 min from seating to serving, and as I write this food still hasn't arrived. Also there's open tables, so they're clearly not at capacity. I don't recommend this place until they figure out the service side of the business. The food is fine. read more

There was a bit of a wait for a table, but they use a text waitlist which was very efficient. Elegant ambiance but not stuffy. It was fairly busy, and our particular server wasn't very friendly or attentive but wasn't rude - just as business. The restaurant seemed well staffed and they all seemed happy (maybe just a tough day for our server - it happens.) Had grapefruit juice, which tasted fresh squeezed and an iced caramel latte which would give any big-name coffee shop a run for their money. I had the Lump Crab and avocado Benedict on a Sage Biscuit - it was phenomenal! Biscuit was light and fluffy and didn't overpower the light flavor of the crab or avocado. Served with American breakfast potatoes which had a great flavor. Husband had the Shrimp and grits and had the shrimp blackened. Perfect job on the shrimp - lots of flavor but could still taste the shrimp. He said the grits were bland - but I always dress them up when I make them at home, so normal restaurants preparation of grits usually is "bland." Really enjoyed our meal and will definitely visit again (they have some really good looking grain bowls for breakfast I'd love to try!) read more

Been to their other location and now this one and my fav is their sage biscuit! Worth. The. Calories. Service was acceptable, but not great at this location. Our waitress kept forgetting items we requested (water.) all dishes were served within a reasonable amount of time and hot. Huevos Rancheros, Sage Omelette, and Two Egg Breakfast were ordered by our party of 3. Their coffee is very good, too! read more

Great food but sketchy menu. Bunch of STARS by items no one knows what they mean! No where on the menu was their an explanation. Asked waitress and she never came back with an answer and ignored it. Sounds like a small thing but allergies and food choices are important and a liability people!! read more

Food was great as usual, but each time service seems to get consistently worse. Drinks not refilled, no mention of the specials, I ordered French toast and when a different waitress brought out our food we asked for butter and syrup, never brought it, half way through meal I went to the staff only door and knocked and was told to sit back down, they would bring it. French toast was cold by then. The table behind us also sat waiting for syrup. Our bill was $26 and we gave 2 20's and she asked if we wanted change?? It wasn't crowded and there were plenty of servers, not sure what the problem is? read more

This was a great stop for breakfast. They are situated on the bottom floor of an office building with their own private parking, which is a plus. The portions were quite large. I had the breakfast burrito and it was quite flavorful. Got there early on Friday morning and it started filling up quickly. There was a in door and out door seating. Not a big fan. We've been wanting to come for so long now and finally had some time to. We had a 5 minute wat, no problem at all. The server cam to our table 10 minutes after seating and was in such a rush that we couldn't get a word in edge-wise. Annoying. Our meals came. The pancakes were dense and chewy and the biscuits were cold as well. The butter was rock hard and their scrambled eggs were over beaten, making them tough. The sausage gravy was mediocre as well. This morning my partner and I met up with an old coworker and his partner at this establishment close to the hotel in Bradenton. Located on the ground floor of a building with parking across the street, believe us at Sage Biscuit - Downtown was worth the wait for an amazing breakfast after reading positive Yelper's reviews . It's a first come first serve and our friends already had a table outside. Our server was Katelyn who was friendly and attentive. There is a large selection on the menu to satisfy even a fussy patron. We ordered Two Eggs and Meat consisting of two eggs over easy with sausage patties, served with potatoes and sourdough toast, Mediterranean Skillet Omelette with spinach, onions, roasted red peppers, olives, two eggs, and feta accompanied by sourdough toast, sourdough French toast, and create your own omelette (scrambled eggs, mushrooms and red peppers) with biscuits and potatoes. We sat outside and enjoyed the breezy morning. All the options were huge in portion and affordable in price. We opted and the Hashbrown breakfast with a half order of the biscuit and gravy. Yum yum yum! Super busy when we got there and our server worked really hard. I got the tofu scramble and it was very tasty! I changed my toast to a sage biscuit and so glad I did because it was supreme. My mom got the three cheese omelette and it was big enough to feed a family of four. Prices were around ten dollars for each of our meals which is about the going rate. Definitely can't wait to go back! read more

So we tried the one downtown and so far not impressed, and very disappointed. We had a 25 minute wait which was not a problem since it was Saturday and it was packed. We have been waiting for our breakfast for over 30 minutes now. The food better be worth the wait because we are ready to raid someone's table and eat their food. So the food wasn't worth the wait. With all this we should have gone and we will next time to Teresa's just around the corner and gotten our breakfast faster, better food, better atmosphere. We will not be back. read more

There were tomato pieces/seeds left on the meat of the sandwich. I did not eat the sandwich after seeing that. I told both the server and the host as we left the restaurant. We paid full price and were given a quick "I'm sorry." I wasn't looking for a refund or for the sandwich to be remade. I didn't trust the kitchen at that point. Just a heads up to anyone who dines here with ingredient restrictions. Slow service and careless mistakes.

These are pictures of what the tofu scramble once looked like. Today I got some tiny minced up (small amount) of tofu that was riddled with soy sauce. It was a salt fest and not hearty or fulfilling at all. I would rather you raise the prices than give me less food. A big shame. No plans to return any time soon. That being said, the prices have gone way up as well and less food (with less quality) is given. $4 for toast? $13 for a mimosa? Both meals up more than a couple $ each...$5 for an iced tea!? When meals are dropped, come to the table... ask how everything is... instead we sat eating sub par meals. Yup, we are done. Once big advocates for this establishment. Not anymore. "We've definitely upset some of our customers over the last couple days.." yes and we are 2 of them. 10+ years of Sage Biscuit... but all good things come to and end. Good luck. read more

I recently stopped by Sage Biscuit Cafe and ordered a simple bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, which came with a side of grits. I also added a side of fruit. For the price, I was expecting a more balanced and polished meal. The biggest issue was the sandwich, the egg was nearly twice the size of the English muffin, which made it awkward to eat and just didn't make much sense proportion-wise. The fruit was another disappointment. The portion was small, especially considering it cost around $6, which felt excessive for what was served. The grits were decent, but nothing memorable. Overall, the presentation was lacking, and the meal didn't quite match the price point, so for that they are chopped. read more

I recently visited the Sage Biscuit Cafe - Downtown and it was such a fun experience! The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I had the biscuits and gravy and it was cooked to perfection - the gravy was so flavorful and the biscuits were so fluffy. I also had a latte which was great - it was strong and had a wonderful flavor. The cafe was also very well decorated with lots of plants, books, and art - it was a great place to hang out and relax. I'd highly recommend Sage Biscuit Cafe - Downtown as a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy some quality time with friends. read more

Celebrated a graduation with a delightful brunch. I savored the Hunters skillet, while others enjoyed French toast and an omelette. The double mimosas were a hit with our group - perfectly crafted. Everyone raved about their meals. The service was top-notch, with our server being exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring our orders were accurate. Located in the heart of downtown, the restaurant bathed in plenty of natural light and boasted a lovely Christmas decor. read more

We always go to the Sage Biscuit on Cortez W. Excellent food & always courteous staff. Prompt service. Besides having excellent food...Sage Biscuit on Cortez W has always been very clean.
