We've hit up almost every restaurant in the Sahm's family at this point and have raved about each one's food. It's always fantastic. So when we were near enough to finally give Sahm's Place a go we figured we'd cross another off the list. The vibe here is different from the others, it's much more diner/dive bar which is totally fine if that's your mood; I love a good dive bar. But the food still has to be edible. The loaded fries were great and just about the only thing I could eat from the multiple things we ordered. The special burger, which boasted that it would be topped with "2 jalapeno poppers" actually showed up with some sliced jarred pickled jalapenos on it. If I'd known I was gonna be lied to and give basic jollies, I wouldn't have ordered it. The mac & cheese, which we order frequently at Half Liter, might as well have been Kraft dinner, it was cloying and bland as hell, nothing like the previous dish we were used to. And the hot honey brussels sprouts. I love these things and order them every time I see them on a Sahm's menu. This time, instead of receiving crispy halved plump sprouts glazed in sauce, they showed up absolutely swimming in oil, all separate leaves, and completely burnt. There's no hyperbole here when I tell you I put a forkful in my mouth and almost choked on the amount of oil that squished out like a sponge when I tried to chew. When we got the check 90% of my plate was still there and I wasn't asked if anything was wrong or shown any kind of interest as to why. Both booth seats had huge rips in them and the walls had splatter stains as well. I'm not a snob but this didn't help the already bad time. 2 stars from the fries, but I'm not driving 30 mins for fries (especially when Half Liter and Big Lug are closer). read more

This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is ALWAYS good. No matter what you order. It's always packed with regulars and the staff will know you by name after a couple of visits. The food is elevated bar food, but they also have full dinner entrees which come with a loaf is brown bread and butter. Pastas, steaks, rotating soups, and weekly specials. Also, don't miss the piece of their famous coffee cake which comes with any salad order. You can also order a full coffee cake as well. read more

We have eaten here several times and the food has always been amazing they have a cowboy burger that is fantastic!! We always get 1/2 of a coffee cake to go! It is out of this world! The service is always quick and friendly. One side feels more like a sports bar and the other side seems to feel more like a family friendly restaurant. They also have some outside seating that we enjoy when we just stop in for a snack and a beer. The beers on tap are great and of course they have bottles or cans of almost anything else that you could want. You can also get a big lug six pack to go!! My niece, her fiancé, and I wanted some good comfort food and decided to pop on down to SAHM'S. I hadn't been in forever! It had become a regular spot for me both for brunch and dinner/drinks so was nice to return! Location: Located just off Keystone just north of Glendale. Same shopping area as Kroger. Lots of parking! Space: Cozy and feels like you're at home. Booths line up the dining area and half the bar. Bar seats and a few table tops available as well. Lots of wood and dim lights (but not in a creepy way)! There are a few tables out on their little patio which is where we sat outside and it was just lovely. Food: They do it right here, y'all. I ordered the French dip sandwich with a wedge salad as a side. Everything was delicious. The French dip was lightly toasted and filled with freshly sliced meat, cheese, and onion. The au ju just brought it all together. The wedge is everything a good wedge needs to be - nice big, fresh lettuce, firm and ripe tomatoes, big chunks of bleu cheese, and house made dressing. My fam loved their dishes too - buffalo chicken sandwich with mac + cheese, and meatloaf with mashed potatoes + cornbread casserole (which side bar - this is a must order if you haven't had it. Just do it and thank me later). We also got a half order of loaded fries. O.M.G. y'all I forgot about how life changing these fries are. The fries are crispy but not overly so then smothered and I mean smoooothered (from a cheese lover) in cheese, bacon, chives. Served with sour cream and housemade ranch that HITS. and I may be plotting my next visit as I write this review. Service: Holly is the best. She was attentive, fun, personable, and became our new best friend. My soul was slightly crushed when they didn't have an IPA on draft so she poured the can into a glass before she brought it to me and bam just like that we had draft beer. Lol. She also asked after my rewards program and if I was enrolled. I had totally forgotten about it. Ask for her! We'll be back soon! We've been living in broad ripple over a year now and this place is such a hidden gem. It's located in a parking lot of Kroger and many other businesses, which can throw you off. However it's the same ownership of Bug Lug, Half Liter, etc...so we should've known it's be great. They're menu is very large, which can be overwhelming, but offers something for everyone. This place is a nice little hidden gem near the Broad Ripple area. We stopped in here for a late brunch on a busy Sunday. The wait was only about 10 minutes as a big party was finishing up. The waiter took our orders and the food came out in decent time and was extremely good. I got the Buffalo chicken skillet but made some modifications. My husband and I both agreed my modifications should be the menu item but hey lol. We've been here for lunch and dinner several times and it's always good. This is a great neighborhood spot, good for both family style dining and hanging with friends. The bar is separate from the all ages dining room and features some great daily specials, from 1/2 price bottles of wine on Wednesday to their happy hour menu. A friend and I were in before Christmas and found ourselves smack in the middle of Trivia night. While we opted to 'observe' the first go 'round with one of the regulars, I'm proud to say that we placed a few weeks ago, winning a 'Gift Certificate' of $5. So, not the grand prize, but at least we hung in there with the rest of the crew! In addition to their pub grub, their full menu offers a wide variety of delicious options and Big Lug brews on tap. Update 4/21 Did a carry out family deal this weekend. Was super easy and convenient. We got the Board game sampler. Food was good. Wings came naked with a generous amount of sauce and bleu cheese dressing on the side. Just started eating here more regularly. The 3-6 sliders are a really good deal and tasty. My husband likes the long sahm silver and I am a fan of the pork tenderloin. Service is usually nice and fast. Beer is pricy but really where is it not these days. read more

Sahm's is my favorite Indy restaurant groups. While it's one of the smaller places among its locations, it offers a coziness and feel of a local smalltown restaurant. Their menu remains pretty extensive and offers a good number of fun vegetarian options, including their amazing buffalo cauliflower appetizer. I appreciate the diversity in their entrees as well, including their sandwich and salad options. Like Big Lug and Liter House, they have their own beers along with other beers and cocktails. They have a large menu - truly something for everyone. They also have a great beer list - mostly Big Lug and Half Liter drafts, but always a good selection of rotating drafts. From 3-6 and 9-close they serve $3.33 sliders. They have about 10 different options and they're all fantastic! My favorite one is the meatloaf slider. My family and I came in last Saturday for brunch and had a wonderful time. We were able to find something that stuck out out to us on the menu and it fit all of our needs. The portions are big!!! I was able to share my fish and chips with my son and my niece and nephew split the kids sliders and fries. Definitely look at the yelp pictures to determine if the plate size can be shared. Went to Sahm's Place for a work lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised, I've heard of Sahm's and have had some beverages at one as well, but never had the chance to eat at one! I went to the one off of 65th street, and it's decorated quite eclectically. This location is also divided into a restaurant and bar area, service was good! She had to keep up with 15 people so I'm always appreciative of that, the menu is extensive and I'd describe it as American classic with a good deal of options. For lunch I decided to get the beef Manhattan and it was the perfect comfort food dish! I thought it hit the spot on a cold rainy day, you could also choose a side to start so I had the French onion soup. Both were so delicious! When I had mentioned to some people that I had never eaten at Sahm's before, many people mentioned this coffee cake, I'm not typically a dessert person, but I'm glad a piece of the cake comes with the meal, it was one of the top cakes I've had in awhile. It is difficult to find good food nearby late at night, if you're trying to avoid chain restaurants and/or Broad Ripple Ave. We got out of a movie after 10 PM on a Saturday, desperate for food and despairing of the options, when Sahm's Place popped up on my Yelp app. We arrived around 10:15 PM to find that they were still serving the full menu. We sat on the bar side; the decor looked a little dated, but I instantly felt comfortable in the homey atmosphere. I was surprised at the breadth of the menu and beer list, and saw many local breweries' symbols charmingly hand-painted on the walls. I ordered the VegHead sandwich with onion rings. It was a delicious grilled sandwich overflowing with tofu, avocado, red pepper, spinach & artichoke dip...3 types of cheese. It sounds like ingredient overload, but it actually was an extremely tasty mishmash of flavors. The onion rings were thin-cut and greasy, but still enjoyable. My partner ordered the My Boy Bleu burger, minus the mysterious-sounding "Columbus" sauce....which our waitress informed us was a slightly spicy, mustard-horseradish type sauce (possibly fry dipping possibility?). We enjoyed our meals, the service was very friendly and we were checked in on multiple times. We'll definitely be back, especially for me to try out the beer list, and are glad to have found a closeby late night alternative. read more

I shall title this review... GREASE FEST Kev ordered the steak sandwich with fries, and I ordered the breaded tenderloin sandwich with onion rings for pickup. OMG! Was the oil even hot? I don't think so, because both sides were greasy and limp, and the breading was falling off the onion rings. I heated the latter in the toaster (convection) oven to try to bring some crispness to them, which means my sandwich had to go into the microwave to reheat -- and yes, it was greasy too. Kevin didn't put his fries in the toaster oven, and he said they were like greasy pasta. When we ordered by phone, they said it would be ready in 10 minutes. Perfect. We live 10 minutes away. They should have told us 30 minutes and taken the time to heat up the oil. Let me just say that I am spewing vulgarities and profanities, though I will not publish them . Today was our first trip for a sit down dinner at Sahm's. We'd been to the bar side before, and enjoyed the good beer selection, but this was the first time we'd been to the family friendly diner side of the restaurant. All but one table was filled during the dinner rush, and that table was immediately cleaned off so that we could sit down. Our server was quickly to our table to get our drink order, and our beers and waters were delivered just as fast. We came to check out the Nuvo Burger Week deal, where different restaurants around Indy offered $5 burger specials. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Sahm's offered not one but 3 different burger deals, AND they came with a side! My partner, daughter, and I ordered one of each: a classic cheese burger, a BBQ style burger, and a 3-cheese melt. Sides were fries, chips, or watermelon. (Thanks for the delicious healthy option!) Our service was fast and the food was fantastic. The buns were fresh and remarkable. My BBQ burger (the Clint Eastwood) had a perfect ratio of bacon and fried onions and a really tasty BBQ sauce. I don't know why we don't visit here more. We're up and down Keystone quite often, but for some reason...we seem to not think of it. Sahm's family of restaurants has always impressed me. They're combination of solid food and service, the fact they're locally owned, and a nice, varied menu makes me a fan. This restaurant appears, on the inside, a bit more upscale to me than some of their others. It doesn't have the sports bar feel that the one in Fishers has, it's more of a place to go have a quiet meal and conversation. Although it appears a bit more upscale, the menu isn't expensive, rather, I'd call it moderate. Nice mixture of salads, burgers, steaks, fish, and more. I'm pretty certain anyone can find something to suit their palate here. The knotted buns on the burgers are AMAZING. Huge fan. The one thing that kept me from giving a 5 star review was the service. I found it to be a bit aloof and not especially prompt. It wasn't terrible, mind you, but enough to knock a star off. read more
