A little shop focused on crab cakes and sandwiches in a little strip mall. $21.50 for one, $36.50 for two plus two sides. The cole slaw, potato salad, and hushpuppies are solid. Crabcakes are good, not the most crab I've seen in a crabcake, but still a good ratio. Bathroom signs are funny. Salad is a slow one to make... but done fresh given how little they sell of it? They have tables inside and outside in the plaza.

    Ultimate feast

Update.... This is my fourth visit here as I work myself around their menu. The crabcakes have been consistently good. But this time I got the Frye's Ultimate FEAST (One Crab Cake, 3 Gulf Shrimp, 3 Wings and COD , and 1 Side & Hush Puppies) for $36.00 Frye's Fries Frye Seasoning Subtotal$36.00 Tax$2.16 Tip$3.60 Total$41.76 Shrimp flavorful.....but tough and EXTREMELY SALTY! Wings... so-so...and very salty as well. The cod was just....ok....but I don't know if I'd get it again. It had been about a half hour after picking it up that I had it...so it lacked ANY KIND of crush that you'd expect. Maybe if I ate it right then and there I'd feel different. But 30min after being served...it lacked ANY KIND of flavor. The cab cakes is this places saving grace.....a one trick pony.

We loved the BLT Crab Cake sandwich!!! The Frye Family potato salad (secret family recipe) was so fresh and delicious! Wow! The fun 80s movies and music brought us back in time!

Soft opening today.... Be patient as they get settled in... came in just after opening and our only hiccup was they forgot to bring in the soup bowls ... guess I'll try the chowder later. So hubby and I both got a crab cake! These are tasty. For our sides we did hush puppies, fries, coleslaw... found the slaw nice and fresh... hush puppies tasty... for me the fries are not a hit... Seating inside as well as some outside tables... to order you do it yourself at the kiosk and the bring the order out to you. Note they only do credit cards... no cash! Only see sodas... don't know if they plan on adding alcohol or not... No frills but super tasty... don't forget to grab crab cakes to go.

WOWWWWWW THIS CRAB CAKE IS INSANELY GOOD. It's expensive ($15 for a crab cake sandwich a la carte) but it's absolutely worth it. There is no filler in this crab cake and the crab is such high quality. Big fan of this spot.

Their delicious crab cakes and sauce game on point if you like sauce like me hehe

Been getting these crab cakes since they were selling them out of their home. Sauce game on point. Lump crab meat, no fillers. My favorite crab cakes in NOVA! The new Ashburn location is a casual picnic style vibe and the space feels very open. Staff is friendly and the interior is bright and upbeat with lots of crab decor. They have a great music playlist too, takes you back a few decades hehe. Been twice and will definitely come back for more bc it's sooo good. Our Favorites: Double Crab Cake Platter PHAT Fish Sandwich (Cod) Wild Caught Fried Shrimp Frye's Famous Wings Their Frye's fries, hush puppies, crab salad, and potato salad were good too. Def recommend the crab salad if you had to choose one side. Vanilla cake was great next time gonna try the chocolate. They also have a clam chowder I want to come back for next time and bring hubby along.

Good food, but strange unwelcoming attitude: I get there at 6:56, more than a half hour before their closing time shown on their door, and yet every chair in the place is put up on tables, and they act as if they're ready to leave.

Hidden in plain sight! This gem served up large platters with dedicated service. Order on the screens and then the kitchen starts preparing your mains so they are freshly cooked and piping hot when you get them. Serving size is generous and they do allow you to do a la carte if you want to pick and choose your options. Crab cakes were full of juicy thick crab meat and little filler. Sauces and old bay are to the side if you want to add to your food. It was busy the entire time we were there with families eating amongst checkered table clothes and many take out orders. Lively with 80s movies playing on the TVs. Worth it for good fresh seafood.

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. The crab cake platter was phenomenal, full of real crab meat. The hush puppies and fries were also amazing. Next time, I will try the lunch specials which are only $10! Brandon was so kind and overall the customer service was great! I highly recommend!

Cheap bag ripped with my expensive meal in it

I came in on a Friday at 6 PM. I did not receive my food until 630. they ran out of crabcakes. I was so furious. I didn't even wanna complain about the cold fries even though I paid almost $60 for a meal. My suggestion during a Friday dinner rush to have more staff. Your food is way too costly to be inconvenienced. The only thing I received was and I'm sorry we got really busy when you should be prepared for a dinner, rush and my bag ripped.

We were craving for Vietnamese food and came here because of the reviews…read more We were immediately seated after arriving. The restaurant is medium in size and decorated very beautifully. One of the white walls has an intricately-detailed painting of a Vietnamese woman wearing a triangular hat and round sunglasses while eating a bowl of pho. Another wall is made of painted white bricks and has paintings of pho carts and cooking stations. Dangling lamps that are designed to look like bicycles illuminate the restaurant and among them are wall sketches of landmarks you can find in Vietnam. In the back is the drinks counter, which has white flowers and a boba machine on it. There are also drink bottles in cubbyholes at the counter as well and paper lanterns hang nearby. A drink refrigerator is also close by too. We ordered the following: Starter #7 Thai pan fried fish cake- Daughter liked it a lot and said that it was delicious and wanted to have more. Hubs thought it was a little underwhelming and that it tasted like fish nuggets for $12. #85 - Vietnamese Shaking Beef- Daughter thought it was ok. Hubs said that it's one of the better ones that he's had and liked it. There was plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. He said that he wished that they served it with garlic noodles like in the West Coast. #62 Baby Clams Hot Iron Pot Rice, which is crispy rice baked in a cast iron pot with a stir-fry of vegetables (snow peas, mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots, water chestnut), quail egg and choice of proteins. We chose baby clams. We thought that this was pretty good. Daughter is starting to like clams and liked the entree a lot. Hubs said that this was the best dish of the night. He loved the crunchy rice on the bottom and the fact that they used clams as protein with claypot rice. He's drooling as we speak. LOL. #73 seafood crispy pan fried pho noodle, which is crispy pan-fried pho noodles dish topped with stir fried mixed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, bamboo shoots, tomatoes, snow peas, Napa cabbage, celery, mushroom) and your choice of protein We chose seafood. This was daughter's favorite entree of the night because she's never had pho pan fried before. It was perfectly crispy. Hubs liked it a lot and also liked the small bowl of beef pho that came with it. The beef pho was tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return when in the area to try other items in the area!

Come on, that's an instant five stars in my book. We ended up talking wine with him for a good part of the afternoon. He had us sample a few different pours before we landed on a Nebbiolo we loved. Later, after another conversation about wine, he brought over a taste of a white we'd never even heard of because he thought we'd enjoy trying it. It never felt like an upsell. The food was beautifully presented and the wine pairing was superb. Definitely recommend having them pair your wines. The grilled shrimp was a great start. The sparkling rose made the shrimp taste even better. The goat cheese ravioli was probably my favorite savory dish of the evening. The sweet sage-maple syrup-tomato sauce was fantastic. The Sancerre was pleasant with it, although I thought the ravioli itself was more impressive than the pairing. I had to order bread so the sauce wouldnt go to waste. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium, and initially it was somewhat underseasoned. After adding salt and pepper and getting some of the thyme from the plate into the bite, the lamb became significantly better and worked better with the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The creamed spinach underneath was delicious on its own, but I didn't enjoy it with the wine. Interestingly, the absolute highlight of that wine pairing was the braised garlic. The sweet, mellow garlic and Châteauneuf-du-Pape were wonderful together. Dessert was the highlight of the entire pairing. The lavender ice cream was outstanding, the Chantilly surrounding it was light and delicious, and the strawberry sauce wasn't overly sweet. The Sauternes was excellent with the dessert, particularly with the fresh strawberry. This was the pairing where the food and wine truly made each other better. Even though I was one of the last diners of the evening, I never felt rushed. My server was very attentive and social which I love. We came down from Long Island to attend a funeral of a friend. My sister knew that our friend had…read moreliked Sweetwater Tavern and so we decided to give go there for dinner in his honor. What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is a very, quite spacious and very welcoming. It's right next to a lake and so the setting was lovely. We had an indoor/outdoor room with doors that opened to the outside. I had a raspberry lemon martini with a sugared glass rim. Very nicely presented. They have a very varied menu and they also have a large gluten-free menu. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter and then we both ordered the fish tacos. The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. I want to mention that the wait staff was also great. Friendly, attentive, but not over-bearing. I can't say enough about Sweetwster Tavern. If I find myself in this area again, I will definitely be back.

I got to check out Sweetwater Tavern during my first dinner out in Dulles. This spot was…read morerecommended by the receptionist at the hotel I was staying, so I decided to give it a try. For a weeknight, this restaurant was surprisingly busy, which felt like a good sign! Dinner started out with trying some of their appetizers. We got the Tex Mex Egg Rolls as well as their special Burrata appetizer. The Tex Mex Egg Rolls came with four tasty mini egg rolls filled with smoked chicken, corn, black beans, onions, peppers, and jalapeño jack cheese. They were served with a creamy avocado dipping sauce that added a cool, refreshing contrast to the savory filling. Overall, these were a light and flavorful way to start the meal. The Burrata special was also pretty good. It came with three crisp breads, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil and drizzles of balsamic glaze. I loved the buttery, creamy burrata paired with the juicy cherry tomatoes. I also liked how the basil pesto and balsamic glaze gave a bright, herby flavor. For my entree, I opted for the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast. Two generous pieces of tender grilled chicken were served over angel hair pasta tossed in brown butter sauce, alongside roasted cremini mushrooms and green beans. Interestingly, I got a lemony flavor in the brown butter sauce, which was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. I especially enjoyed the roasted cremini mushrooms. These were earthy, meaty and full of flavor! Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner at Sweetwater Tavern. From the flavorful starters to the hearty entree, it was a satisfying first dinner in Dulles. I'm glad I took the hotel receptionist's recommendation. Locals know best!

Nothing exceptional but good quality, good food And a fair amount of steak in mine for $16. I wish I could say the same about the service or lack there of provided by the two young female servers. For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. It's a shame because I saw several other things on the menu that I'd like to try but I'm not interested in being in that unpleasant atmosphere again
