This is one of my go-to places for lunch! It gets really busy at Noon, for a good reason, so I typically like to order online for pick up (easy to do on their website). My favorite thing to get is the vermicelli bowl with extra pickled diakon - yummm. The portions are huge so it can usually last me another meal. Service was great even though it was busy when I dined in for lunch. It was nice that the staff offered and brought us water. I recently made it in on the weekend and finally had the opportunity to try their Bun Bo Hue. THIS IS THE BEST BUN BO HUE I'VE EVER HAD! I shared the hot pot style bbh with the rib with a friend and we devoured it. What a great idea to make it hot pot style because it stayed hot and tasty the entire time we ate it. I'm a boiling point gal so I think food tastes best hot. The only change I'd personally make is to ask for more lime on the side for more sourness and a thai chili or two (if they have it) since I like it spicy. They do have a tasty chili-satay sauce on the table as well, but for this dish in particular, I like to add spice without the saltiness. I will have to try their banh mi's and pho next! read more

We found this gem on yelp and I am very happy we did. Once we got inside it was pretty packed. We ordered the infamous banh mi drip with some drinks. Food took a min to come out so we were lucky to snag a table while waiting. Once our sandwiches came out wow. We opened the broth and dip our sandwiches in here and the first bite was oh so amazing. Holy crap, I had the best banh mi I've ever eaten from Saigon Drip Cafe! No, seriously. You need to eat here at this charming, trendy eatery in Pioneer Square, which serves the most delicious Vietnamese eats and has Vietnamese coffee! My colleague recommended Saigon Drip Cafe and mentioned that the banh mi was delicious. I was hesitant at first because I don't really like banh mis, which is crazy because I like sandwiches, but I guess I just never had a banh mi that made me a fan. Until now. Since Saigon Drip Cafe is conveniently close to my office, I decided to check it out for lunch and when I came here on a Friday around noon, the place was already packed. Almost every seat was taken when I visited, so get here early, folks, if you want to dine in during the lunch hour. The place is on the smaller side, too. I ordered the banh mi drip, which was the brisket banh mi with pate, onions, mayo in a toasted baguette AND, the best part is the side of beef bone marrow broth to dip it in and sip on! I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam and since I checked in on Yelp, I redeemed a free appetizer of my choosing, so of course I chose the popular fish sauce chicken wings. After you order and pay at the counter, an employee brings your order to you. And once my food came, everything was neatly packaged, in case I wanted to take any to go. But there were no leftovers to be had of this banh mi drip. I took one bite and was immediately hooked. HOOKED. First of all, the toasted baguette was incredibly fresh and was perfectly baked. I saw that they make the baguettes in house and I almost took a baguette home because this was so good! Plus, the brisket was sooo tender and delicious, and although the sandwich itself was simple, with not that many toppings, its simplicity is what makes it perfect because you really savor the brisket, especially when you dip it in the beef bone marrow broth. The broth is very flavorful, too, and comforting to sip. The fish sauce wings were enjoyed the next day, and they were solid. If you like fish sauce, it has that sticky, fishy, sweet glaze on perfectly fried chicken wings. I can see why people dig it. And you know the Vietnamese coffee with the cheese foam didn't disappoint. Strong coffee and I love the salty-sweet cheese foam. In addition to fantastic banh mis, they have a variety of phos, bowls, appetizers, and a bun bo hue, which they serve as family style and only on weekends. Broth was VERY underwhelming and not hot enough to cook the steak after 10 minutes of hoping it would. Ended up waiting 5 extra minutes for them to heat up more broth to add to my dish. Heard about this place and saw a lot of post about this place on Instagram and finally was able to try this today! Right as we walked in, I really love the layout and aesthetic of this new restaurant, it feels like I was back home in Vietnam! There was so much food to choose from but I saw that the Banh Mi Drip was most popular so definitely had to try it! The Banh mi had brisket that was smothered in their delicious pate, grilled onion, and mayo! The baguette was crunchy on the outside and very soft in the inside! You also get a side of beef bone marrow soup for dipping! Great idea and it was fulfilling! I also tried their shrimp spring roll, it's fresh and the peanut sauce was creamy and it had the perfect flavor! My girlfriend got the steak pho and the noodles were thick but cooked to al dente! The soup was flavorful and the meat was tender and didn't taste overcooked at all. Lastly, we order two drinks, my girlfriend got the strawberry limeade and I wanted to try the cafe sua da with durian, the coffee was on point! Strong and flavorful just like a good cafe sua da! But the durian flavor wasn't really there. Coming from the Bay Area, I have found it hard to find on par Vietnamese food while traveling. However, I will happily say that this cafe would be my home away from home if I moved to Seattle. The pho broth is rich in flavor and the banh mi is soft enough to not hurt, but crunchy enough to give texture. My flight got in at 6am and I was so early for check in, sitting at my hotel for 6 hours and finally decided to eat. This place is close to my hotel and I was craving for pho and banh mi. Ever tried to eat pho without utensils? They have you order at a kiosk. I made sure I requested utensils on their touch screen. My order was up and I walked out with my to-go bag but something reminded me about their shortcomings from my last experience. Once outside I stopped in my tracks and took look in the bag. Well what do you know, they forgot to add utensils. I looked at the order ticket attached outside of the to-go bag. Yep, it had "utensils" printed on there. Proper training is lacking or they just hire negligent staff. If you're going to a game or concert just skip this place. You're paying a premium for lackluster service. I also didn't realize they got an "Okay" health inspection rating until someone told me about it. Grab something in Chinatown-International District instead. WOW. We got the Saigon drip ban mi and that was incredible. I brought it home and I was using my fingers to get whatever was left on the plate after I was done. Delicious and I'm saving the broth to drink it later. The cool thing too about this is that banh mi was originally made during the time the French were in Vietnam and this combo really respects the cultural history behind the meal. The limeade was good too. The service was fast as well. We got a standard banh mi as well and that was good. They certainly live to their, fresh food made fast, food was delivered to our table within 10 minutes. The banh mi drip up to the hype, I don't know what they put in that sauce, but it was finger, licking good. The meat was extremely tender in the bone marrow soup was piping hot. There were too many options to choose from, so I limited myself to ordering only 2 banh mi's with the intention of coming back. I got the grilled pork and spam & egg. Both were freshly made and served piping hot on a toasted baguette. I sat at one of the bench tables blissfully sampling my banh mi's when I was interrupted and asked if I wanted water. I also got to try the well balanced Vietnamese iced coffee - thanks Khanh! Everything was so good, but I may sub pickled carrots & daikon for the onions in the spam & egg banh mi next time. I usually have to add sriracha or hoisin sauce to make my broth better, but here I wanted it as is, it was THAT delicious!!
