Not the same as before. I'm not sure why but when I order Pho I expect beans sprouts not chopped up iceberg lettuce. I quit ordering takeout because he kept sending me home with no garnishments or maybe one slice of lemon. Today we ate in the restaurant and of course I had to ask them to please return the iceberg lettuce to the kitchen that I came to eat pho with bean sprouts. He came back with bean sprouts. Every time I eat there the pho is different. This time it had overcooked peas in it. Gross. I'm not sure why they continue to run out of food by 2 o'clock every day. Today was the last time We eat there. There's a reason the prices are so low. Pot Luck. I'd give 2 stars but I Ate it anyways. read more

I don't even know where to start. First of all, the noodle that they use for majority of the dishes is on the lines of spaghetti instead of Vietnamese vermicelli. I got the Singapore Noodles which are supposed to be just meat with very thin vermicelli noodles, but it was the same dish as my brother's, but with a different sauce. The fried dumplings and egg rolls were store bought, the sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls was so water down that you couldn't detect any flavor. Going back to my brother's dish, his was so bland that not even the sriracha and soy sauce could fix it and the portion was too big because it was the same dish as mine but with a completely different sauce compared to my dad's lo mein. Honestly the food was great. I got the chicken noodle pho and it was fantastic. Me and my boyfriend shared a meal and it was plenty of food. We also shared the fried dumplings.. not MY favorite but he enjoyed them! The service was good. Anytime I see one waitress working it makes me feel for them and she was doing amazing all by her self The atmosphere was good, but it was missing something... maybe people!!! this place is underrated. The food here is great. Let me get that out of the way. I had a #24 and it was great. In terms of food quality and price Saigon Pho is very highly rated. However, this 2 star review goes down to the shady practice of adding a gratuity on the check without mentioning it on either the menu or at payment. Had lunch today in a party of five. Food was great. However, when I went to pay noticed my bill seemed very high. This made me request a receipt. And sure enough we were each charged a 21% gratuity. My issue with this is that the restaurant should inform you of this. When it isn't mentioned and you aren't given a bill to ensure that you are being charged correctly it feels deceptive and leaves me feeling like I'm being taken advantage of. If you're going to charge an automatic gratuity for parties of 5 you need to mention it and make it clear. Food is fantastic but the bill process needs to be worked on. read more

Horrible food and service. The spring rolls were so bad, they were thrown in the trash. The pork inside was a thick and fatty piece of meat, with browm tinged lettuce and a few noodles. Not so good. If you think they are so good, try some other Vietnamese restaurants. Their broth is good for the pho, but they don't offer any vegetables other than bean sprouts and cilantro. Normally you will get basil and mint, jalapeno, onions, green onion, etc. Also, the vermicelli was very undercooked. The egg rolls were so so. They would been greatly improved by providing the normal leaf lettuce, basil, cilantro, Bean sprouts, etc that are normally served with them. On their own they have not such a great review from me. Overall rating is: Needs improvement. Check the competition. Oh wait, you have no local compet. I think this place has better reviews probably because people have not tried other Vietnamese restaurants because there is only one in the area. I have been to many. This one disappoints. read more

I went into pho Saigon for a bahn mi, sad to say they don't sell them any longer. I'm sure they just weren't getting ordered and the bread was going bad too fast. It's a shame to see a Vietnamese without them, but their other food makes up for it. I asked the server what she recommended and she said a special pho or the noodles with pork. Since it was over 95 degrees this day, I went for the noodles and some fresh spring rolls. The spring rolls were amazing and so was the pork! It was served with a light vinaigrette with a bit of sweetness. Overall I enjoyed the little restaurant and will be back! read more

I said I would update review accordingly, here it is. Second time around was much better. They replaced the waitress, service was friendlier, and the food did not disappoint. I love a good pho, this place has it. For Lake Jackson, you won't find any better, literally. This is the only Vietnamese establishment in the area. :-). Food and price is good. Did not get five stars because place could be a little cleaner, and the water is tap. It has that distinct tap water flavor, where you know you're close to the ocean. Other than that, for what you find around here, this is your Vietnamese place to go to. read more

This place showed up out of no where, its near a Chinese place that looked of questionable quality in a town that doesn't look like it has many diverse eating establishments. Frankly i was surprised that there was Chinese food. I'm giving this place 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1st for being good. Great place in the Freeport/Clute area to satisfy your Vietnamese food cravings! Their pho is perfect for a cold/rainy day. Also another dish I order is the vermicelli, grilled pork and eggroll. This is my go-to lunch place. Service is quick and portion sizes are generous. Every plate I've seen go by my table looks delicious, but I always stick with the pho. Maybe it has something to do with the half a bottle of Sriracha I dump in there, but I just can't get enough of that salty, noodly, beefy goodness. My only complaint is that the beef seems a little tough. Other Vietnamese places I've been to put raw beef in the broth right before serving, so it browns in the broth as you eat it, but Saigon's beef always comes out pre-cooked so maybe that's why. Still, worth a visit (twice a week sometimes), especially if you've never tried Vietnamese food! read more

This place was such a find! I recommend the BBQ shrimp vermicelli and the house soup! The food is always fresh, and they serve delicious Vietnamese food as well as some items you would find on a Chinese menu such as lo mein and General Tso's. This is one of my favorites in the area. read more

Been here before but had been a long time. I tried something a bit away from traditional Pho style and had the General Tso's chicken. It was fresh, but probably needed a little more spice to it. Was not oily or greasy. Service is quick. I need to go back and try more of the dishes. Prices are inline and do not break the bank. read more

2 and a half but not 3 stars. Pho chicken is not very tasty. Chicken texture is like rubber with no flavor, broth has no flavor other than the sriracha I needed to add to taste something. Egg rolls were decent. Maybe their other dishes are what gives them higher ratings. read more

I would honestly consider myself a pho snob. Or maybe I'm just a little bit of a food snob. Either way, Pho Saigon is really just a place in Clute where you might want to get your pho fix without driving to Sugarland or Bellaire. For me, it is a little disappointing that the Pho Dac Biet doesn't include everything you might find a traditional pho restaurant. Some of these things include tripe and tendon. The taste of the pho is mediocre and there is definitely better out there. When they bring you your pho, your noodles will still be clumped together and you'll have to separate the noodles yourself. This has been my experience with the noodles at least. The freshness of the bean sprouts seems to be lacking in my opinion. This place can definitely not hold up to a traditional pho house. But, it's basically the only place to get your pho fix in this area. I wouldn't go to this restaurant expecting really authentic pho, because you won't get it. read more

We usually go to Pho Ben in Sugarland because they have the best PHO, but due to the uncleanliness lately we have decided try a new places and so this time we tried Saigon Pho, well sticky table and condiments, plus the Pho is not that great and service sucked, we spent $25.00 and ended up at Taco Cabana because we couldn't eat the stuff and we were still hungry, we won't be back and after 3 years of Pho this was the last straw so far they have all been filthy places. read more
