This is based on the food we tried there. I should have stuck with pho, but I had a sudden craving for wonton soup instead when I got there. Big mistake... The broth for the wonton soup is NOT for wonton soup. Pretty sure they just used the pho broth. The wontons were absolutely atrocious. They overcooked the wontons so much that the skin was just mushy. It was disgusting. My boyfriend ordered the grilled pork rice dish. They grilled the pork way too much because the burnt grilled taste was very strong. We had fried dumplings for an appetizer, which was the only good thing we had here. Maybe it's the dishes we ordered, but everything was way below average besides the dumplings. But really.... how can you go that wrong with dumplings. My fiancée and I have been trying to find a great pho place that we can go to whenever we get that craving and saw that this place had excellent reviews. I must say that the service here is phenomenal, one of the servers greeted us, brought us to our table, and asked us if we have ever had Vietnamese before; he was more than willing to explain the food and how pho is typically eaten. We ordered the chicken pho and egg rolls, I also got milk tea boba, I was surprised to see such a variety here! The boba tea was great, however the egg rolls and pho weren't anything to swoon over, they were good, but I have had better. It was just lacking in flavor. They also serve macaroons! I had the Red Pepper Chicken and spring rolls. The chicken was good but it was more of a soupy mix with chicken in it. Kind of an odd thing, but it wasn't bad. The spring rolls were just okay. Crispy and fresh, but the flavor wasn't my favorite. The Pho. Oh my. There aren't words for how delicious it was. My fiancé ordered it and I ended up eating half of it. I liked that all of the toppings were fresh as well and they serve it with plenty of everything. I do not eat at places I simply do not like. I eat at places where I absolutely enjoy the food and service. Saigon Pho is a place I enjoy eating at. Their pork bun or grilled pork with vermicelli is fantastic every time I go. My wife always get the lemon grass grilled pork with vermicelli. Home made macaroons as well which my wife loves as well as tony cake cubes. The employees are so willing to help and very nice. They have free wifi all you have to do is ask someone for the password, or it's just the phone number on the business card. You can also bring your own bottle of wine! LOVE THIS PLACE! Adorable little restaurant in Tomball. Nice and clean and just so homey in there! Everyone that works there is very nice too! The food is always fresh! Loved stopping in here on my way to work an event in North Houston. I'm not super familiar with this side of town but I knew I wanted some Vietnamese food today, and what an excellent choice I made! Clean and inviting from the get go it was a pleaure just to walk in the door. The service was quick and kind! They were very attentive to me but not in a bothersome way. The grilled pork vermicelli was excellent so that just sealed the deal. As with most places the price was good and I couldn't have had a better experience. So I start out by hacking a lung coughing and my nose stopped up.... I would say I had "AlBola". So I decided that a good hot bowl of Pho Tai and some spring rolls is in order. We happened upon this place of which I was pleasantly surprised. And as always, you can just about tell its a good place when there are cars parked at the establishment. The wait staff were quite friendly as they brandished a kind, Vietnamese smile. The spring rolls tasted fresh and the fish sauce portions were more than I needed. Typically I expect the Pho Tai round meat to be slightly chewy but again I was very much surprised... The meat was tender and incredibly tasty. Price wise, I can say that two orders of spring rolls (2rolls ea) and two orders of Pho and of course water came to an even $20.00 bucks. Well worth the meal! Please don't judge the place for its decor since although clean, the Paris France and smoothly signs did not say to me, "AWESOME PHO HERE!". I'll be visiting my newly found Asian friends to experience great Pho again. read more

Went with my family because my sister was craving pho. It's a hole in the wall place with a dozen or so tables. It never bodes well for me when I order something and they return to tell me "No, we'll have that tomorrow". The menu is in English which was a trip because I'm used to ordering in vietnamese. We had 2 pho and a pork plate. It was bland and unremarkable. Ordered a boba tea and the tapioca didn't fit through the straw. I won't be back. The owner contacted me after this review trying to tell me I got the wrong place stating they have been closed since July 10th. My visit was in June. read more

Went on a Sunday for a late lunch. I ordered the Spring Rolls with shrimp and Pho with Round Eye Beef and beef meatballs. When I got the spring rolls I notice that the peanut sauce is runny with no chopped peanuts but it was still taste good. Spring rolls was a good size with two shrimp inside. Pho was a good size for a small. The broth was flavorful as well as the meatballs. Waitstaff was helpful but not attentive and I had to go to the front counter to get the check and pay. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because of the food quality. Service was not horrible but it could have been better if they were more attentive to their tables. Saigon Pho is a hidden gem of Vietnamese food and is without peer in the northern Houston Metro area. The food is outstanding and the bakery items are among the best that I've ever had--seriously. The macarons and petit fours are simply amazing. The key to their pure awesomeness is that the owner imports all of the ingredients (flour, chocolate, etc) from France (and she worked as a baker in Paris for 30 years). American flour is made from different wheat and has very different composition from French baking flour. These differences are extremely noticeable in bread and pastries. I have had the following items and here are my ratings (1 to 5): 1. Steamed dumplings - 5: These are the best dumplings that I've ever had. Wow. Perfect ratio of dough to filling, perfectly cooked, the sauce is perfect. Wow. 2. Chicken wings - 5: Incredibly crispy. These are the crispest wings that I've ever had. The Korean sauce rocks. 3. Rice plate with grilled Korean beef - 5: My wife was literally sucking the meat off of the bone. Really, really good. 4. Pho (white chicken breat) - 5: Perfect. I had to drink the broth when I was done because it was so good. 5. Vermicelli (grilled shimp and egg rolls) - 3: The only miss that I've had so far. The shrimp were bland, but the egg rolls were great. The vermicelli was over cooked. 6. Pad thai (combo) -4: Very different from any other pad Thai that I've ever had. It was good, but very different. I highly recommend this place--it is the best Vietnamese food north of I-10 in the Houston Metro area and its baked desserts are among the best that I've ever had. read more

OK, so I just ate here and had to race home to type this review out whilst still fresh in my mind: This place is the bomb! I had eaten here a few times and it was always really good, but today was such a chilly day, pho sounded like it would hit the spot. Ended up with the beef lemongrass spring rolls and the wonton soup with egg noodles...holy sh!t, both were AWESOME. The spring rolls were HUUUUGE, but perfectly tender (the noodles and rice wrapper) and the beef was just savory and succulent. As for the wonton soup, I would assume they use the same soup base as their pho, as it does have a star anise (not overwhelming whatsoever, and I don't love star anise) aroma, but it's just rich and nutritious. The wontons...homemade and just frigging delicious. Shrimp and pork cooked to perfection. I don't write reviews unless I mean them, and I mean this: Hopefully they're ready for a new roommate, because I am moving in. My only complaint would be that the spring roll was too big to shove into my mouth in one bite. Next time I visit, I will take pics and update this review. Seriously, though...run, don't walk, to Tomball for pho. It's amazing. read more

First time customers and we could not have been more impressed with the food. It was my beautiful wife's birthday and along with our daughters we had enjoyed the Vietnamese egg rolls which were crisp and hot and full of flavor. Sauce was perfect in the sweet and spicy side and ordered another bowl as it did not last long. One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in tomball or Houston. Their pho is excellent and portions generous, the pork Vietnamese sandwich well you better get there when they open because they rarely have any left by 4pm because they're so good they sell out fast. They have many varieties of teas and smoothies to choose from, adding Boba is a must. Very friendly atmosphere I go back repeatedly to try new dishes.
