Have officially became a regular at this place. I discovered this place over 10 years ago and they have never failed me. I've been to several Asian spots in town and this place is Top 5 eats for sure. The food is fresh. The water is tasty! Totally disappointed. I really should have known better than to go look for reviews for a Vietnamese restaurant in a small city on Yelp, instead of listening to my friend's suggestions and advices on avoiding this place. The decoration and atmosphere was nice enough, but the place was Americanized and catered to American palettes. The bowls were very small for the price we paid for the noodle soups. The spring rolls weren't great, and the dipping sauce was super salty. My friend's Pho rice noodles were all broken when he got it, and I had to ask the servers for a new bowl. It takes us forever to order here sometimes because there is just so much stuff on the menu. But it is great! Half the fun is trying to figure out what to order. I've always liked what I ordered even if it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. And honestly we are still learning. This time we ordered the Combination Platter. The description just said, "made especially for you" so we had no idea what would be on it. It had egg rolls, crab rangoon, shrimp chips, spring rolls, chicken with almonds, and pork. My husband ordered a bowl with pork not knowing that the combo would have a ton of it. Live and learn I guess. Speaking of the pork, it has this excellent almost hot pink color. It looked so weird to me at first, but it is just delicious. Normally we order the "roll your own" spring rolls with shrimp, cashews, bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, and a variety of other things. If your going to eat vietnamese do it right and visit this gem down on N Broadway near Park City. They have such a large menu its so hard to pick what to get. They have the best of everything to choose from. Don't go alone, because you will want to try everything on everyone plate. We ordered the platter to share for 3 ladies last time and we almost didn't finish it. It was a fun experience rolling our own egg rolls and stuffing our faces with delishesness. I adore Saigon! I always order the #49 - Chicken and Noodles with Egg Roll (I get cravings.... must. have. Egg. Roll.)... so I can't speak for the rest of the dishes. However, all my friends who have tried other items love their meals as well. You might want to be wary of the shrimp dishes at times (as with any restaurant that serves shrimp); I've had a friend become ill after she had some... but that's been the only time. The noodle dishes are fresh-tasting, but can be a little greasy along with the egg rolls, but it's a good grease... I wouldn't want it any other way. The decor is not anything spectacular and it is a little crammed for space, but those two items make it more authentic for me. Service is great. I have only had to wait during the busy lunch hour once and my food always comes out quickly. The young lady at the counter (who sometimes serves) is always sweet and cracks jokes. I use to really like Saigon for my bun and rice dishes but lately, the food comes out lukewarm and hardly impressive. Since this place is mainly patronized by white people, I feel like they've watered down their menu for the plain palates. The nuoc mam (fish sauce) is bland and the pho is served with lemon wedges! I'm Vietnamese and I'm pretty sure my mother has never served lemon with pho. Just saying. There are plenty of other Viet restaurants in Wichita if you want more authentic food. read more

This is a fine place to have lunch. Decent noodles. Good spring rolls. It is what it is. Since when did the word Americanized become a bad word. THIS IS AMERICA. Call it a vietnamese inspired american restaurant and leave it at that. The service is a little weak, but the food is not as disappointing as some people may think. As for size, I'm 6'3" 240 lbs and the food seems to fill me up just fine so take that for what its worth. I would say the best time to go would be lunch. The service is fast. Definitely the first Vietnamese restaurant I've ever eaten at, and I was a little unsure at first. The service was great and faster than I expected, the environment, while cramp, was really authentic feeling and I liked being in it. I ordered Shrimp Chow Mein, had shrimp chips, coconut soda, and crab rangoon. Their crab rangoon was better than most I've ever had, and the shrimp chips and drink were really good also. The Shrimp Chow Mein was a LOT better than I though it would be. It didn't look to appetizing at first, but I was wrong. Definitely not the best Vietnamese restaurant in town but it's decent. They claim on their menus to have the best pho/soup in town, but this is untrue. Their pho, is good but it doesn't hold a candle to My Pho. However the chicken pho is decent, and I enjoy their egg rolls. Not to mention they have a HUGE menu. I've been a few times with friends, and the service has always been good and they're fast. First time in Wichita and first time at Saigon. I have a friend that is from Wichita and recommended we come here. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I ordered number 47 which was steak and shrimp noodle bowl. I asked our waitress if I could do a half bowl instead of the full since we were just there for lunch. She told me they don't usually do it on that bowl but she would do it for me. 5 Stars! The food was so good. Another thing that really impressed me was that we ordered and literally FIVE MINUTES later our food was on our table ready for us to dig in. It was hot and so delicious. Eating here is an experience. I went during a rush to see what the hype was about and boy was it worth it. The place was packed and it reminded of the great restaurants in larger cities. You file in and sit at the next available seat and prepare yourself for vietnamese cuisine. My favorite is the sour soup and caramelized fish. Delicious! Staff was awesome! I walked in 30 minutes before closing and the staff treated me like VIP as soon as I walked in. The service was very quick, food was nicely presented and at temperatures that they should be. I highly recommend this restaurant, it was my first time here and I will Definitely be returning. My friends insisted on going here instead of Little Saigon, which I've been to before and liked very much. First of all, the restaurant is quite unattractive. The decor is tacky, but gives a very comfortable feeling, as if you were eating at a friends living room. This establishment has good, friendly service. I visited this place today for lunch as I absolutely love Vietnamese food and haven't had any since being in CA. A woman I work with mentioned this place so I thought I'd try it. I thought it was pretty good but I've had better. I had shrimp spring rolls.. rice paper wrapped around shrimp, rice noodles, carrot shreds & cilantro. I don't like cilantro so I removed as much of that as I could. The insides tasted good but the rice paper wrap was tough. You get a peanut sauce (?) to dip. I ended up scooping the insides out and adding it to my main lunch entry.. which was... Charbroiled pork over rice noodles, peanuts, carrot shreds with fish sauce and a fried egg roll. The egg roll was greasy (not uncommon) but delicious! The rice noodle bowl with fish sauce poured over was tasty but like I said, I've had better. I tried the pork because my friend commented how delicious she thought it was. Maybe I'll try chicken next time. I'll go back but might look around for other places too. The service was VERY fast so you know everything is prepped and put together as needed. I wonder if the meats are precooked as well. read more
