I would highly recommend a spic fish dish that that have on the menu that consists of fillet fish in a special spices sauce YUMMMMMM! let me start my saying that we as a group have been there many times. Not again. the food is very good but the service is outrageous. there were 13 of us there for memorial lunch to celebrate the life of a dear friend. The Waite staff argued a few times with us about orders and errors. They brought out an extra soup in error and we said to give it to the young man ( the deceased grandson) and they said no, we can't do that.. WHAT!!!!. throw it out instead? they argued with another person and said she ordered the soup not the salad. Oy. They the argued with me about my meal. I was in error because I don't eat meat.. I asked for another and that was not done until the daughter of the deceased (30 minutes later) asked again for it to be done(they were actually not going to replace it). you just lost 12 of 13 customers. 1 will continue to do take out for her son. I am not very thrilled with this place at all. I have made better Pho soup at home. The chicken tasted as if it was boiled with ZERO seasoning. Their broth tasted like miso soup again very bland. The veggies were fresh but there was no flavor. Very upset. I have had better pho from the mall. I did eat the Pho but I did not finish it I ended up using their odd almost BBQ sauce and fish sauce to try to spice things up and then added sriracha but there was still no coming back from bland chicken. This place had some excellent food, and price we paid for the sushi we received here made it feel like we were robbing the place. We came to the restaurant planning to just get sushi; however, after having a great conversation about the entire menu with our awesome waitress, we decided to try some Vietnamese food before we dove into our sushi. It could have used some more meats and less noodles. The seafood chow mein was delicious. It was my favorite dish out of the Vietnamese plates we ordered. It included crab, shrimp, other fishyies and some pork. All of these meats and seafoods is whatadw the noodles soooo good. Our sushi feast was next. We got many different kinds of rolls. I am not going to go thorugh the time of explaining each one, but i will summerize some bigtime highlights. First off, all of them were dlicious. The fish and other ingrediants were all fresh, for example the avacodo was delicious. If I could give you a suggestion, if you can only order one, get one that has tempura flakes on it. Woowww they were a great added touch. Like I said, all of the sushi was delicious. You are not going to go wrong. OH YEAAHH!!! I forgot, get the sushi with the fried bananas: Tropical tempatation! My first time meeting at the small restaurant in Greenacres. Staff is friendly and the place has a "at-home" type of field. I thought the menu was confusing. I had a seafood soup that was tasty after adding constants. Lots of fresh vegetables dump in it along with jalapenos. My only complaint, there were too much of the items I don't like floating around. These are cuttlefish, ghastly imitation crab and something else I could not identify that may have been imitations scallops. The shrimp (3) were large and tasty. I guess you have to pay twice as much for shrimp, real crab and less of the stuff. Not bad place to eat however, prices were reasonable. read more

Saigon Tokyo is a quaint little place located right off Jog and 10th ave., in the plaza with the CVS. They serve both Vietnamese and Japanese food here. I've been here before, quite on accident really. How I originally stumbled upon the place was sheer fortune. It was way back when husband was just boyfriend, and I always had to get my blood drawn. I hated doing this, still do. Anyway, he always tries to ease my suffering, and usually an offering of food and chocolate appeases his goddess. I filled my prescription at the CVS and was like oh look! There's sushi! So we walked on in. This was way back in 2013. Now that husband and I have created the Fearless Foodys rating system, we decided to give this place another go and rate it. Warning. I'm not the biggest fan of the texture of raw fish and the review reflects that. lol. Anyway The first plate had the Saito's roll and the Fantasy roll. The second plate had the V.A. roll, and the tropical delight roll. Saito roll: This roll had eel, shrimp tempura, scallions, cucumber, avocado, masago, spicy mayo with tuna, tempura flakes and eel sauce on top. This is the roll with the unforgivable fish, that wasn't so unforgivable. For me this roll was quite enjoyable, once I got past the texture of the tuna. It was raw tuna, which is not a step but a big leap in my department. I was shocked at how non-fishy it tasted. The overall flavor in my opinion was not bad, but I couldn't get past the texture and only had two pieces lol. Because of this I'll take my husband's rating of straight, because he thought it was pretty good, and he was by no means disturbed by the texture (I have major texture issues). It's not his favorite roll, but he ate the entire thing, and would eat it again. Fantasy roll: This roll had spicy crab, eel, cucumber, tempura shrimp, I/O topped with avocado, tempura flakes, and eel sauce. This is my all time favorite roll. I'd often come here just for this roll and take it to go. Its sweet, and crunchy with all the perfect elements that I love. This roll is quite literally all my favorite things, minus the avocado that you don't even realize is in there. It has exceptional mouth feel in my opinion, and I feel like everyone and their mama should try it. I know mine did, and she loved it. She goes there just for this roll too. This roll naturally got our EMF rating. VA roll: This roll had shrimp tempura, spicy crab, cucumber, seaweed salad, i/o sesame seeds topped with eel sauce. This roll was quite tasty. There wasn't too much of any one thing, and melded together in perfect harmony in your mouth. Seaweed salad is one of the things I truly enjoy, so having it in a sushi roll was quite nice. I don't think I've ever seen it inside a sushi roll before this place, so that's also a bonus. This roll get's our on point rating, because we both enjoyed it thoroughly, but the fantasy roll is still the top dog. Tropical delight roll: This roll had tempura shrimp, crab, scallion, hot sauce, fried banana inside, I/O toped with avocado, eel sauce, and coconut flakes on top. So this roll was hard to rate, and I'll tell you why. With the other sushi rolls that we ate, this roll ended up coming out to be just straight. It was a little weird to eat with the other rolls because it was more like a dessert. We ended up saving it for the end because the taste wasn't meant to go with our other rolls. However this roll by itself, is pretty on point. It's sweet and interesting, and there really is no need for dessert when you have this. The fried banana was a bit much because the slices were a little big, but overall it was quite nice, even for me who dislikes bananas lol. So we'll give this the on point rating and rate it by itself, but be forewarned that you should probably save it for last. We also ordered the mandatory Thai iced tea. We get this drink where-ever it is offered because come on, who doesn't love Thai iced tea. Its dark coffee likeness with its super sweet creaminess and fun color make this drink a staple for us. It probably is one of my favorite all time drinks. Saigon Tokyo makes an excellent Thai iced tea, very similar to how I make it myself, so there were no disappointments there. The restaurant was nice and quiet, super casual with a fun wait staff. They're always upbeat, and helpful. I never have any complaints with this group. Will we be going back? Of course! I've seen many vietnamese people reside in west palm beach (typical nail salon owners, no offense) Saigon tokyo probably won't survive without the japan cuisine fused with the vietnamese. You simply cannot open a vietnamese restaurant serving only vietnamese food in florida. Maybe in new york or L.A. but not florida. Nope. The food, is average. After returning from San Jose (vietnamese central of U.S.) the food tastes like crap. But if you are living here, and haven't eaten a bowl of pho (rice noodle soup) or com tam (rice plates), and you ate at saigon tokyo, it'll taste quite delicious. You can't complain about the quality of food, because there isn't any place to compare it to down here. Try a bowl of pho (number 41), and you won't be disappointed. It's not bad. They have a good variety viet food. They also serve sushi, which is always consistently delicious at this place. Decoration and ambience is lovely. After coming here for many years, today you can count on me to never come back here again after today's horrible dining experience. Not because of the server but the owner who doesn't understand the importance of customer service. We we're given a dirty spoon with dried food on it. We we're served with tempura that tasted like old oil. We ordered spring rolls and was served with a watery peanut dipping sauce. I told my server about the sauce and she returned saying they added a little too much water but it should taste the same. We returned the spring rolls, my daughter took a bite off one of the spring rolls, and when it was time to pay I was still charged for the spring rolls. Anyways, the soup is huge and delicious! They'll put some chopped cilantro, herbs, limes, sprouts, and other delicious seasonings on the side so you can to your liking. We also got the chicken stir fry that was delicious and light; not heavy as can be commonly found at other asian locations. To say the least I've been back since I first wrote this review. This friendly place is almost like two restaurants so I will review it twice! First, they have a traditional Japanese menu with sushi bar and teriaki grill. You can get various chilled or hot Saki while you pull a seemingly endless amount of amazing sushi off the huge boats. You can also enjoy their amazing teriaki style beef and chicken. The other half is their traditional Vietnamese menu with am amazing rendition of Phö. The staff is great and helpful to first timers. They have a good traditional tea and milk tea selection. This is just a preliminary review because I had to leave suddenly about half way through my meal, but the very gracious server was so helpful and made sure I got my leftovers wrapped up in a jiffy. I ordered number 42 (pho tai). I love pho. I've eaten it many times in many different regions. This was not the best I've had, but all in all it's decent pho. Broth: first impression was bad because it is an ugly dark opaque muddy brown. I timidly tasted the broth and it tasted good! Noodles: no complaints at all. Not too firm and not too mushy. Meat: plentiful, tender (mostly), and very good taste. Veggies: fresh and bright Presentation: a very nice full bowl, BUT it smelled faintly of old grease which I attribute to a not so clean bowl. This place has an extensive vietnamese menu. They also serve sushi(as most asian places in S. Florida), but I only come here for the Vietnamese food so I can't comment on how good the Sushi is. This is a simple place that is not expensive and has very good food. The service so far has been very good as well. The Pho' is amazing and they have a large variety to choose from. They also have an extensive noodle and rice entree section as well I have not tried the deserts yet as I am normally very full from my meal so have not had room yet. This is the perfect place to go for dinner during the middle of the week or during the day or when you just dont feel like cooking. I came here a lot over the years because it was within walking distance from me, and I kind of dreaded it every time but...I am a sushi addict, and they're better than Publix (also walking distance), and you know how addicts work right?
