Sadly, this place has gone to sh*t. I will start by saying that I use to work for this company and am not shy about the review I'm about to give. Walked in, 4 tables and 2 guests at the bar - the host says "it'll be a minute before we can seat you". I'm understanding because I know times are rough. I ordered a kale Caesar to start, the salad gets delivered and I quickly realize it isn't the correct salad. I asked my server, server shows me that she ordered the correct salad, but the wrong one got delivered. No worries, just bring me the correct salad. KEVIN, THE MANAGER - comes over and Ridley snatches my salad from me and says "I'll bring you the correct salad out". Kind of shocked, but just say there. He then proceeds to comes back and tell me that they are out of the salad I ordered, yet didn't offer anything else or apologize for taking the original salad that got delivered. Nor did he even bring me a salad back! Moving on, our tacos got delivered and the person that dropped them off said "the one with the radish" as if that was to identify the taco. You don't even know what protein is on the taco?! Lack of training. Lack of management. Lack of ownership. Carelessness. It's sad because this USE TO BE the go to spot, but now they can't even identify what tacos they are selling or let their servers know what products they are out of. I won't support this restaurant group anymore. For the record: Chris also owns Tavern, Kayne Prime, Moto, Virago and Whiskey Kitchen. Good luck with your experience at any of these places. read more

Amazing Mexican food in Nashville!! We had a very short wait on a Sunday. We arrived before they switched off the brunch menu. I really enjoyed the Lone Star burrito. It was tasty. Fun place. Great staff. If you want free chips and salsa you have to ask. Several tv's in the place with great music playing. It was not too loud do we were able to enjoy our conversation. Very comfortable horseshoe shaped booths. I would recommend the place and would come back. The prices are not super cheap. read more

Cannot even begin to say enough about how wonderful the vibe, drinks and bartenders are here. My friens and I are visiting Nashville and wanted to experience Adele's. They do not open ntil 5 and Saint Anejo is a 1 minute walk. This is during Taco Week in Nashville so we gave it a try. FANTASTIC! We were greeted, made very welcome and enjoyed the attention of bar staff who made the best tequila Lavender's, margaritas and a wicked old fashioned. Food was great also! I absolutely love Saint Anejo, however, had a I not gone in a pre-COVID era, my review may have looked a little different. The environment is usually vibrant, fun, and an overall good time. Due to COVID, the restaurants capacity has been reduced to almost half of what it would normally be as they're only seating in the bar area due to a low number of servers. Even with a staffing shortage, the staff has continued to be respectful, jubilant, and helpful. The only downside is that there's a much longer wait to be seated than normal. My group and I waited about an hour and a half for a table of 4. In terms of food and it's, you can't go wrong with anything! One of my favorites is the Bruch Hot Chicken and Waffles--definitely top tier. read more

Mediocre tex mex food, no reservations, and rude staff. I've lived in Nashville for years, and this is basically St Añejo's reputation with locals. I hadn't tried to go to the restaurant in years, probably because of these reasons, but attempted to go again this past Saturday and almost comically got the exact same experience I've always had. Walked in, asked if there were tables available (by the way there technically aren't reservations, but somehow all of the empty tables were already spoken for), and felt immediately snubbed and slightly condescended to by the host and manager on duty. Almost as if, having the conversation about whether there was a table, was a favor from them to me. We went and sat at the bar, but after watching tray after tray of mediocre nachos and bottom shelf margaritas come out, we decided to cut bait and go to Virago which is literally Nextdoor. Our table of 6 immediately got seated at Virago and we proceeded to spend a few thousand dollars with the friendly and courteous wait staff. Money that would have been spent at St. Añejo if they could get even the basic restaurant stuff figured out. Now all of this would make sense if St. Añejo was cheap, but it's actually quite pricey, especially for the quality of the food. I can't see this restaurant surviving in Nashville in the long run, the reputation with locals is terrible. I'd have to imagine it's the broadway crowd keeping them afloat. Overall, if you want to get the Chevy's experience, but at a high dollar amount with laughably rude staff (like every time aha), check out St. Anejo. Otherwise, choose literally any other restaurant in a 2 block radius, you'll have a much better time. read more

I thought I would've loved Saint Anejo, just based off of past reviews and the fact that they have street tacos. My tacos were so dry and not very flavorful. The guacamole was nice and fresh, but was sadly the only really good part of my meal. Our waitress was nice and quick to refill our waters. Creative Tex-Mex food of somewhat decent quality. They do have complimentary valet parking, which is nice. Huevos Rancheros: 4/5 This was my favorite dish we ordered! It was packed with bold flavors, all the components complimented each other, and the fried egg on top was cooked to be perfectly runny. The one thing I would change is that the kitchen could have been more restrained with the salt, as the dish was overly salty at times. Horchata French Toast (with mezcal maple syrup): 3/5 For French toast, this was surprisingly light! The challah bread was soft and spongey, and everything was just sweet enough without being saccharine. However, I wish there was more complexity to the flavor profile, as I didn't detect much of the cinnamon or dulce de leche. Short Rib Benedict: 2/5 This was not my favorite. The eggs were overcooked, the short rib wasn't that flavorful or tender, and the menu didn't mention that everything would be smothered in a queso-like sauce, which I thought only weighed down the dish. The one thing I did like was the hot sauce squiggled on the side, which had a nice spicy kick to it. Hot Chicken Taco: 2/5 I appreciated how the hot sauce covering the chicken had a decent amount of spice to it. Other than that, I wasn't too impressed with this taco. It was fun to order it once for the novelty, but I probably won't order it again. Chile Mole Shrimp Taco: 4/5 This was a delicious taco! The couple of shrimp that we got were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I also appreciated the bright lightness of the slaw on top. The only thing was that I would have liked a bigger portion of shrimp. Service: 4/5 Our waitress was attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. However, at the start of our meal, it felt like the waitress was hovering over the table, as she kept on asking for our orders before we had enough time to look over the menu. Short: 3/5 Long: So let's talk brunch. I've came here once with a group of 5 on a Sunday I believe. The wait was probably 30 minutes but I expect to wait anywhere for brunch now. The atmosphere is nice, chatty, sunny, cute little decorations. When we finally got seated it took a minute for our waitress to come around but no biggie. We ordered our drinks then our food, and started talking. You know your food is taking long when you've been talking for a long period of time and things get quiet and your food still isn't there. We finally asked and our waitress said about 5-10 more minutes. Around then our food comes out. I personally got chicken and waffles, a dish I love in general. One friend got the same, one got tacos, two got omelets. Now I'll add a picture, my waffle looked beautiful, but it was SO hard to cut through it was like burnt without the charred look, my friends was the same. We told the waitress initially she said "Well, I think they're all like that, but we can get you another and I'll tell them to take it out early." So she was a sweetheart so I wasn't upset but all your waffles are hard? Who wants hard waffles. We both got replacements still wasn't that good but cuttable. I believe it was the manager that did end up coming over hearing about our waffles, and ordered us something to go on the house. I got two of the tacos my friends had raved about to-go. I appreciated her effort to make our experience better and that's what got them the third star. I LOVE having brunch here. This is my absolutely favorite brunch spot when it's just me and the hubby, ok Tavern comes close.... Their blood orange mimosas are so good. And the variety of Margaritas are great! I always start with their trio of dipping sauces and guacamole which is Yum! And from there it can go anywhere. The chicken waffles.... awwww I got no word for how good they are here. Best place I found for that by far. Egg white uno, does, Benedict, gringo...?! Any eggs here are on the point! Huevo me now honey! But sometimes your just so hungry and need that chimichanga, mama I'm telling you these people know how to do that dish right! Fab-u-lous! I'm not normally a spicy marg gal but this marg hit the spot. The wait on a Friday was 1.5 hours at 5pm when we arrived, but luckily we snagged 2 seats at the bar and were taken care of quickly. People are definitely eager to steal seats at the bar so it was a little crowded around us as we were eating. Looking around, all I saw was huge booths so I'm not sure if they would have sat us at one of those even though we were 2 people. Food came out so quick (like within less than 10 min) and everything was correct even though our waiter didn't write anything down (it scares me when people do that lol). Whatever this place used to be, stay away. The wait was absurd. We got there around 6PM. We were put on a list and told to come back in 1 1/2 hour. When we did, there was still an hour-long wait. Staff admitted that our 2 1/2 hour wait time with a half-empty restaurant was not unusual because, and I quote, giving the waiters full-time hours was too expensive. The food, when we were finally served, was disappointing. The salsa tasted and smelled like cheap ketchup. Queso was thin, runny and boring. Had dinner here yesterday. I ordered the stacked carne asada quesadillas. They were subpar at best. The flavor wasn't good and the most disturbing part is that the sour cream that was served with it was lumpy and looked like cottage cheese. When I mentioned it to the waitstaff I was assured that it "wouldn't have time to go bad because they use so much of it daily". I obviously didn't eat any of it regardless of the disturbing reassurance. The service was very slow as well even though we were there at 5:00 before they got busy and there was a wait. My friend who is a local recommended this place and when she said they have good sangria- I said Sold! We arrived and saw complimentary valet parking so we took advantage since my friend and I driving are just tourists. We walk in and find our local friend already seated. They have a great patio area and bar, some completely outside and our table was inside, but with the windows fully open so we had a nice breeze going. We had 2 servers taking care of us and they were fun and attentive. The white sangria was delicious. Guac is a must, and my street tacos were also awesome. I recommend the cilantro lime steak, and Molida. My chicken one definitely had a kick to it. The bummer about the tortillas is I got corn and thy fell apart so easily so it was a bit messy. Ambiance was cool. Loved the garage door style to the place. Staff was pleasant with good customer service. The chips and salsa were AMAZING! even ordered extra salsa. We ordered: 1. Chicken and waffle- the chicken tender wasn't hot as the description suggested, but it was ok. The waffle was a bit too soft and would get smooshie when cutting the chicken with it. 2. Shrimp tacos- the mango salsa was good but the shrimp could use a touch more seasoning. Added the salsa to it which helped my taste buds for it. 3. Blood orange mimosa- wasn't as sweet as expected. Tasted like it had more of the dry champagne than the blood orange. read more

The wait might be worth it. Unfortunately they were only serving their brunch menu when we could get in, which was really disappointing at 1pm on a Saturday. The brunch menu offered very little of their regular menu. It was easy to tell that currently they are under staffed because of how little seating they are offering, so many areas were closed off. With that being said, our service was great and timely! Our table ordered guacamole and chorizo queso as starters and they were great portions (you get hungry walking around Nashville) and delicious. Could have bathed in the queso. Honestly it was so good. The tortilla chips were stand outside as well - hot, not overly greasy, and perfectly salted. I ordered tacos: the hot honey, potato and beef. The beef one was simple but SO good, and hot honey chicken delicious and unique to the birth place of hot chicken. The potato one was average but not bad, I would have gotten a second beef one instead. Such a great atmosphere, good service and good apps but the tacos were simply OK. Again, we were on the brunch menu which I really wasn't a fan of at 1pm on a Saturday. read more

I've been to Saint Anejo probably 30 times in the time I've lived in Nashville. Food and service is usually fairly consistent. Unfortunately, most recently we went for dinner and had a cockroach crawl across our table in the middle of our meal. The servers were appalled and did what they could to salvage the experience, but unfortunately I don't think i'll be able to go back in the future. Having issues like this makes me question the cleanliness and quality of the kitchen and property. read more

Amazing ambiance! From the moment I walked in, it gave me a very subtle, relaxed yet colorful experience. The lighting set the intimacy in the room. What attracted me here were the Yelp reviews of the drink menu. M-F until 6 PM they offer half off pitchers of house margaritas, and sangria options. I chose the white sangria pitcher, starting price was around $40. The sangria glasses were $10 each so it made sense to just get the pitcher. I wouldn't purchase that pitcher at its normal price... way too small for $40! Tacos averaged about $4 a piece. I had the cilantro lime steak taco with a carnitas taco. Cilantro lime steak was the better pick suggested by our server and it was a great option. Coming from California, I'm used to spending $1-$3 for street sized tacos...but hey, you pay for the experience. It's a little pricey, but it's a great experience. There are just certain things you gotta pay for in life. I'll definitely be returning! read more
