Visited Saint Anejo in The Gulch. One BIG plus going here is they have their own lot in The Gulch...that is huge when eating or shopping here. The place is large with nice outside seating and the bar area is large and "hopping". Ordered a Tecate, some really good chips and two types of salsa were delivered and I talked with Manny and took his recommendation of the Chorizo Scramble. Served in a cast iron skillet it was a mix of house-made chorizo, red potato, habanero crema, Pico de Gallo, Mexican cheese with corn tortillas. I must say...this dish was awesome and once you mixed it all together the flavors were incredible. The habanero crema really complimented the dish not with heat...but with intense flavor. Great food and service along with a nice price point for a place in The Gulch means I need to try the other options on the menu's. Worst service I have EVER had! Don't come here. It's a headache. Took 20 minutes every time we ordered a drink - they would then forget some people's so it would be another 20 minutes. Servers were extremely rude. They apparently had a "new" bartender working over Labor Day weekend on a Saturday? As a frequent visitor of bars, this does not seem like the proper time. Call me crazy. These are the steak nachos. I'm from San Antonio- Mexican food is my life. I'd say these do a decent job. These could use some more heat, perhaps pickled jalapeños. I would have enjoyed the lobster tacos immensely if the lobster hadn't been fried. Serving portion was perfect and that chipotle sauce rocked! Don't skimp on the drinks. The outside doors to the patio were not open for dinner yet it felt like it was 90+ degrees the entire service. An older woman actually passed out from the heat and had to be taken by ambulance! Dinner service was extremely slow and although the food was good I'll never again eat here due to the experience. Came with a large group of girls for a bachelorette party this weekend and had lovely meal and experience. They were able to seat us in a large party room with one huge table but put us all on separate checks without giving us a hard time! We ordered a guacamole sampler for the table which was accompanied with plenty of fresh warm tortilla chips. The spicy crab guacamole was my personal favorite because I like spicy food, but I also enjoyed the pineapple and mango guacamole. Brunch cocktails were 2 for 1 and so I was pleasantly tipsy from 2 strong glasses of sangria which set me back less than $10. My entree was quite possibly the best breakfast burrito of my life! The portion was massive and it had plenty of fixings such as pico de gallo, poblano crema, and fresh cilantro. I added the chorizo for an extra $2 and had no regrets about that! The Huevos rancheros and the hot chicken and waffles where also very good, as I was able to snag a few forkfuls from my girlfriends. I really, really, really, REALLY want to love this place. It is walking distance from my place. The location is great. The set up with the "garage doors" that open to the street is amazing. The service was so friendly and aimed to please. But please dear god do something about the food. Chips and salsa were decent. But two small ramekins of salsa is not nearly enough. The queso was so watery, more got on the table or on me than on the chip or in my mouth. My red sangria was more like a fruity wine spritzer. I could not detect an ounce of red wine in it. It was clear pink in color. I got three tacos: chicken tinga-edible but nothing special, al pastor- different, but not for me, molida- I have no idea what this was supposed to be, but it smelled and tasted like sausage pizza in a corn tortilla. My s/o got fajitas. The shrimp was flavored alright, but small and dry. I am not quite sure what the beans were supposed to be made from, if the chef was trying to do something different, but refried beans they were certainly not. The habanero crema tasted more like ranch with a strange taste. The server, who I cannot say again how nice and friendly she was, brought us churros on the house. All I could taste was poultry or fish, seeming like the churros had been fried in the same oil. I so badly want to go back and sit in the bar area and watch the hustle and bustle of Mstreet. I ordered food through Uber Eats tonight. I sometimes get nervous ordering delivery because so many times, the food arrives and it sucks. I have not gotten to eat at Saint Añejo prior to tonight, so I took a chance on a new place and am glad I did! I got the chimichanga and Mexican corn. Both were delicious -- flavorful and authentic. My fiancé and I visited Nashville in August and had a TERRIBLE experience with a local AirBNB. Once we checked out, we were really hoping for Nashville to redeem itself and Saint Angelo really came through! Server Claire and Manager Scott were the most gracious of hosts, taking care of our meal as a way of apologizing for the AirBNB experience even though they had no hand in the situation. Best of all, the burrito we shared and the Bloody Maria's were AMAZING! The food was clearly made with fresh ingredients and the drinks were unique and everything was very well priced. Our fajitas came out with CHEWED GUM in them. I am a registered nurse and this is so many health code violations and such a hazard. My colleague could have choked on it or god forbid the chewer have had a disease/illness. I have come here since the opening in Nashville and I brought business friends visiting from out of town. I was very embarrassed. They comped the fajitas obviously but then the fact that they did not comp the entire bill is very poor service and I expect better, in both aspects. Went to Saint Anejo yesterday night (Monday 10/16) and had probably the worst service of all time. When we got there, we were told it would be a 10 minute wait because tables needed to be cleaned off. We then watched while servers watched the cowboys football game and talked instead of bussing off the tables. During this time, we went to the bar to get a drink. The bartender was beyond rude. She basically ignored us when we sat down. We were sitting close to the well and she was talking to two servers. We got to hear for 10 minutes her complain about how much she hates it there, how no one would take her shift, and how much it sucked she was there. Finally, a guy came over and took our drink order. By the time our table was ready it had been about another 10 minutes. I looked over and the bartender wasn't working on our drinks but was still talking to servers about how much she hated it there so I asked how much longer on our drinks because our table was ready. She then got annoyed at me and said "she was the only bartender so I needed to be patient." (Not to mention her laughing at me) I was a bartender for years so I understand that situation. What I don't understand is acting like I'm being impatient when the bartender has been talking instead of working on drink tickets. I also get we all have bad days at work. But talking badly about it should probably not be done in front of customers cause it makes you think badly of the restaurant too. Finally, by the time we were seated at a table, it took our server a good few minutes to greet us or even give us menus. After a long 10 hour drive from OKC, the atmosphere at Saint Añejo was exactly what my mom and I needed. The bar service was great. Thomas took great care of us and never let us fall off of his radar. The drinks were great, special shoutout to the strawberry lemonade. The chips and salsa came out immediately and were a perfect snack to munch on while we scanned the covid friendly menus on our phones. The real stars of the show were the guac and queso, and OF COURSE the tacos! I could've ordered 10 more of the spicy chicken tacos and my mom couldn't stop raving about the tenderness of the cilantro-lime steak. Next thing we know, we are chatting with the manager about the decadence of the steak when he goes to the back to get our new queen, the (probable) future Chopped champion, the broil highness and executive chef herself, Chef Jordan Arcuri to chat with us, and it was such an honor. And as a home cook myself, hearing about her passion was so enthralling and beautiful, just like her food. After Chef Jordan graced us with her presence, my mom and I had the cherry on top to a great meal with the house trés leches cake and it was WOW. The best way I can describe it is as a super creamy, turnt up version of strawberry shortcake. Ive been here dozens of times. This was my first time getting the hot chicken and waffles. I was a bit skeptical because I've had their hot chicken tacos before and I was a bit disappointed. However, the hot chicken waffles was delicious w/ their apple cinnamon syrup. The potato hash came out a bit on the cold side, so I can't say that I really enjoyed those. I ate at this establishment for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party and the restaurant couldn't even seat all of us together. I was forced to sit across the room with less than 1/5 of the group. Not only was this humiliating but it gave me flashbacks to Christmas dinner 10 years ago when I was forced to sit at the kid's table despite being a fully grown adult. I was shocked when they didn't hand us a kid's menu. Despite this, I was ready to eat. Wasn't about to let this minor inconvenience ruin my appetite. We were given chips and salsa. Excellent! Things were finally starting to look up. Next we had some guacamole, less impressive than the chips and salsa. 2/10. Eight points deducted for it not being made table side. Regardless, we began to dig in. Little did I know this would be the only food I would receive for three hours. Sí amigos, tres horas. One hour in, my friends and I decided we had to start rationing our chips if we were going to make it out of this restaurant alive. I really want to love this place.... I recently came to Saint Anejo's for the second time. My husband brought his employees here for a Christmas dinner. We are all self-proclaimed taco lovers and Saint Anejo's has a really cool vibe. Upon arriving with a party of 8 we were able to get a table immediately without reservations (Saint Anejo does not accept them for smaller parties) on a Friday night which is nothing short of a miracle in Nashville. We ordered drinks and apps which included margaritas (very good), guacamole (meh), and jalapeno poppers (good). For our taco options we ordered Korean Barbacoa, Pork Belly, Hot Chicken, Mahi Mahi. The tacos were all fine... no complaints but I probably would not make it a point to come back for them. All in all Saint Anejo definitely has their following but I just feel their are better options here in Nashville. read more

I fell in love with this hip place. The decor and vibe is great for meeting friends over drinks, laughs and good food. I had the hot chicken tacos which were tasteful, my husband had the shrimp fajitas which were great as well. The complimentary nachos and salsa were a bonus. There are a lot of taco places in Nashville and sadly most are not that good, including this one. I understand they are a bar first but they bill themselves as a Mexican restaurant and have several "fancy" tacos on the menu. If you like questionable service, sub-par tacos, and overpriced drinks then this is your place! I am originally from Texas so obviously I know it will not be the same, but there was literally nothing I tried that made me want to return. Your experience may vary from mine, but as it stands I will not be returning here. It is not the worst "Mexican food" place I have been to in Nashville, but it is certainly not the best either. If you are looking for some fancy cocktails and want to hang out in a cool aesthetic place then by all means go here, just not for the food. read more
