I love the atmosphere, I love the music and also the food! I came here for the first time on a wednesday night to listen to my buddy Nick Shattuck open for Mark Ballas from dancing with the stars. The music was awesome and the crowd was great. Towards the end of the show people got to the front of the stage and made their own dance floor. I feel like the set up of the stage and the tables can be better since only 5 tables allow you to actually see the full stage without leaning over pillars. So if you go, make sure to get there early to find good seats! I had their crab cake sliders. $7. THE BEST crab cake sliders ever!! I loved all the different sauces that came with it too! Sound (audio) guys will cost this place repeat business. Volume is way too loud. Absolutely unnecessary, and much louder than every other venue in SoCal. Without ear plugs, impossible to stay for a full set. With ear plugs, no fun. Not the good ol' St Rocke it used to be. My girl friend and I came here to see Eli Mac on a Friday night. The venue is pretty small and they pack the place up like sardines. It got really hot in there fast. The sound was okay, but one of the horn players kept getting feedback from his mic. I can't speak on their drinks because it was so packed, we couldn't get to the bar. Also, there's only one bathroom in the whole place and the women's only had two stalls. Even the green room upstairs didn't have their own bathroom. And parking! Parking was absolutely atrocious. Their tiny lot was full when we got there, we circled around for 20 mins before finally parking in residential almost half a mile away. read more

Was invited here 2 weeks ago to see the Smiths/Morrissey tribute band. I'm not a huge tribute band girl. But, I am a huge live music fan. I was not expecting there to be such a big turnout, or for the bands to be so good. We were lucky enough to have Berry Bly Productions reserve us a table. (That is always nice)! The waitress was extremely friendly and was quick with her service. One of my pet peeves is an empty glass when I am at a bar...Our waitress was on it! Our party had a blast. The crowd was cool...it was a good night! If you are in the South Bay area and like live music, I highly recommend Sainte Rocke. Get there early, it does get packed. I have not been on a Friday, but I hear that there are really good drink specials...I think my next visit will be on Friday! read more

What a disappointing evening. Was looking forward to an evening with friends , drinks and food while watching dueling Pianos. First problem was that there was only one waitress working. Poor girl it was her first day and she was slammed without bar support or another waitress to cover the tables. Many found it impossible to get happy hour orders in even when asking for service 30 min ahead of 8pm cut off. The bar tender was ignoring people trying to order and actually told me he was busy and I'd have to come back later. My friend ordered a drink 45 minutes ago and he is still waiting for it to arrive. ON TOP OF ALL THAT this is supposed to be dueling pianos but there is only one performer!?! No attempt from Managment to stir up crowd, extend happy hour, get another person at the bar ....apologize?!? SOMETHING?! ANYTHING? The ONE piano player is trying the best he can to get things going but the crowd is not too happy. Oh ....the drink still hasn't come! Mr Rocke we are sitting at the table by the booth. I give Saint Roch five stars because they rock! Easy directions to get to the location, parking in the rear for a small fee, there's parking on the street. Also easy for Uber, Lyft To drop off and pick up. My first time there August 2019. Fantastic place! The locals support the bar, come early and stay late to support the band. The band I was coming to see started it 8 o'clock on a Friday night, which is early for Los Angeles county. The bar was packed with very nice people! There are two bars, and plenty of places to sit, And hang out with your friends, or like I did I just hung out with the locals! The sound was good for the band, you could see them because they're up on the riser. The Acoustics were good! A little bit of a drive for me coming from Burbank, California but I got to see worth a drive. Will return to see other bands, hope to see you there! read more

My friend and I went to see The Spazmatics in June and the place was so crowded! People were constantly bumping into us and not even apologizing! We couldn't take anymore, so we went to cash out and our bill had other peoples order on it! It took over 30 minutes to resolve it! As we were leaving out the door the police were there for a domestic issue! I felt like we were in Hollywood where no one had any morals! Went to go see downhill jam last night called ahead to let them know that one of the people in our party didn't have their id as it had been stolen out of his car the night before. We indicated that we can send them the info and they told us that we would be fine which was a lie. When we arrived the gm would has no people skills and is total asshole treated us like crap and didn't refund us for our tickets or offer any levitate way to de-escalate the situation instead essentially told us to fuck off she was so horrible just the worst humanity has to offer. I would recommend her termination as she is literally useless and has managed to single handlely make our experience at an establishment we have been going to for year aweful! read more

Saint Rocke sucks so bad. went to see spazmatics in June and August. this is the last time ever. the crowd is super aggressive. always pushing and looking for a fight in the crowd. always seems to be a fight there. the sounds check took longer than the actual show. spazmatics didnt start playing until 10:40 and ended at 11:45. the first band left the stage at 9:15. do the math. amateur hour every time. the bar staff and security is great but doesn't make up for the complete shit show the space puts on. save your money and more importantly your time. stay away from this place. it blows!!!! read more

Okay venue is great but my one issue is the owners of your valet parking lot. Look me and my friend came early to make sure we could get parking and were perfectly fine paying but if you have that issue with people dressed a certain way going to a concert venue then please put up some type of information so that you don't feel scared. I understand the fear of seeing someone in black and doc martens but also have some type of information to not come off as low key racist. I understand the fear of your business getting robbed but also remember people need info about your business being there.but besides that parking attendant was a little rude to my female friend and I clearly was speaking fluent Spanish. I don't know what people do to get parking but there's away to speak to woman especially to non Spanish speaking Latinos. This great small venue has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and an intimate feel. Several top musical acts and touring bands can be seen there each and every week for cheap ticket prices, I check the calendar often. In addition to the music, there is food and beverage service featuring many tasty and moderately priced menu items. Finally, the great staff of employees and servers keeps a positive vibe going, even when the music isn't playing. They also offer T-F happy hour. Parking can be a little challenging but I never had any issue. read more

Fantastic place! Great blend of bands, upscale urban Chicago bar kinda look, friendly cute bartenders that will comp your drinks every so many. Good eclectic crowd with laid back dress. A friend's favorite, Rocco DeLuca & The Burden, were the main act that night. And they were worth every bit of the $20. Rocco is a genius with raw lyrics and passionate dobro solos. Not sure if all of their bands are as high profile, but the opening band Rival Sons were great too! Fantastic space, incredibly well-known bands for such a small venue, great friends...all for a nice price. Why have I been dragging myself to the Hollywood Bowl for culture?? :P btw...four stars because they will not allow 'in and outs'...ie you can't buy your ticket in advance and then come back...so make sure to buy them before the online cut-off for the bigger shows or show up and try your luck. read more

This is a cool venue, but the stage lighting has DANGEROUSLY POWERFUL LASERS POINTED DIRECTLY AT PATRONS' FACES. I've worked with lasers before, and whoever installed the stage lighting was NOT supposed to angle those lasers directly into the crowd; they're supposed to pass above everyone's heads but never land directly into the eye! Just one evening in this bar was enough to make my eyes feel very, very fried. Employees of this establishment probably have terrible night blindness after working here night after night. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. Last night was my first time at this bar to see popularly known 80s band "The English Beat". My girlfriend and I are both 21 yrs of age, and she had surprised me with tickets to this show/venue to see one of my favorite bands as a late birthday gift. To paint the scene, this venue attracts quite a crowd and not much elbow room to go around with only standing space to surround the stage. No assigned seats or areas. In our area of standing we were surrounded by much older people and quite possibly the youngest in the venue. A couple songs into the bands set we were beginning to be harassed by an older white woman who was much taller than my girlfriend and I. She began by yelling at us and poking my back for me move. Her reasoning was she was there first, accompanied by a crowd of people known to her. This venue is quite packed and not much room to go around or even dance. She escalated things by elbowing us aggressively to move and ended up hitting my girlfriend in the face. To this, nobody did anything to help us, they seemed rather annoyed by our presence there and expected us to move, even after her becoming aggressive, flaring her elbows violently into our backs and sides. We dont tolerate to be treated this way. We all paid for this show. My girlfriend and I were not aggressive at all but assertive the woman for her to "Be nice and calm down". "Lady, its a concert people are squished, its packed in here, Calm down". As things were heating up, many people turned to us only to bat an eye and not assistance. It was very discriminating to us we were most likely the youngest in the crowd and having not being from this general area we felt very singled out. My girlfriend began crying due to the feeling so violated with our space and catching an elbow to her face, being called a "B*tch" by and older drunken woman surrounded by her friends. It was unexpected to me people of her age (40s-50s) to be acting so childish in a drunken rage because her space was diminished due to our area of standing. Grow up. The elbow to my girlfriends face was the last straw, she is much shorter than me standing at 5'1". The lady knew what she was doing, she's not incompetent or unaware of her actions, but rather smelled of liquor and entitlement. We immediately left to reach out to security who accommodated our issue/complaints instantly by offering us to get the police involved. I don't condone violence ever, but I definitely do not believe its okay to put your hands on people ever especially since this woman was unprovoked and acted out on her own accord. The police arrived only to get both sides of the story, this lady had the audacity to say we made threats to her, even though she was the aggressor coming to us for her problems. We only asked to her to politely back off, be nice, and consider the crowd space being already so dense. We were there to enjoy our time together and to see this wonderful band, we have no interest in getting involved in any altercations, if anything we'd rather avoid it but she brought it to us by acting the way I explained above. The police were only able to offer a report to be made but upon having a in depth conversation with the officer he made offered a choice for us to return to the venue and have her escorted out. We did not want to spend the rest of the night in a station making a report that would probably become just an inconvenience to our time, all over an immature and ill-mannered woman. By this time the band was finished and the night was getting late. We took this as our opportunity to end the night and return home. I understand shows and concerts have their share of sardine packed venues and other ill-mannered people like we encountered. Instead of getting security involved this lady really wanted to hurt us and harass us, and ultimately ruined our night. I wish I had better things to say about my experience at this venue. But this accurately depicts our time spent here at this bar in Hermosa. I would expect the venue to be a little more "crowd-aware". People like this woman who ruined our night do not any repercussions and get to continue as they were. It was saddening to see how we were treated by the on-looking older crowd and the lack of empathy from them. We would like to thank a very nice lady Myko, a friend of the general manger at the bar. She was extremely attentive to my girlfriend who was emotionally distraught by the whole situation especially after being purposefully elbowed by a lady she did not know. She was very kind and comforting and offered emotional wisdom we won't forget. She saved our night by reminding us to stick together and not let this one experience taint the rest of our young lives. If she's reading this, she is a very special woman who felt like an angel on our shoulders, being there with us as the police allowed us to give us our statements, even ice-ing my girlfriends cheek. What a cool place. I've been here a few times for concerts, karaoke, and just for a few drinks... And I've never had a bad experience. It's the perfect size for a small, intimate gig. Which is perfect for a lot of the artists I like. But unlike most smaller venues, the sound system here is outstanding. Seriously, the bands sound amazing. It also has the feel of an older "underground" venue, without the dirty and disgusting parts. Which is nice. The staff is friendly as well, and the food is pretty good too. The drinks are a little pricey, but that's to be expected from any venue with a bar. They do, however, feature some great happy hour specials. So drink up! All in all, it's a perfect place to just hang out, or to see a concert. read more

This place is really cool! Definitely a hidden gem of the South bay. I came here for the last time to check out their Tuesday night "Sound Collective with Josh and Kira" series showcasing emerging artists. From outside you would have no idea how cool it is on the inside and I expected the inside to look more like a typical dinghy concert venue, but once I stepped inside I was immediately surprised at how cool everything was. I'm not sure how it's set up on other days, but rather than a standing room only type place, the setup was more like a lounge/coffeeshop, with tables and couches scattered throughout the room. The lighting and architecture of the building really accentuated the ambiance and enhanced the performance. For the size of the crowd, the setup was perfect, with easy access to the bar in the back which is kind of offset from the main stage area. This is nice so that you can go back there and talk without disrupting the people watching the stage. It seems like one of the big complaints of this place from other Yelpers is that it gets too crowded, but for a small-medium crowd as there was last night this place is perfect. I would probably not want to come here during a crowded night though, it's not a huge venue and I can see it being not conducive to a very large crowd. The building also has very good acoustics and sound system. The service is also top notch. I was sitting at the big table to the right of the stage and the waitress was very attentive all night even though she had her hands full, the staff here works very hard. Also, the talent on stage was amazing! Given that these are emerging artists I guess it makes sense that they don't charge a cover, but I would gladly pay to see any of the artists that performed. If you get a chance definitely check out the Tuesday night series. read more

Haven't had this good an experience at a live music venue in years. The entire staff was go-out-of-their-way friendly to me, from the valet, to the door staff, to the bartenders. Sound was great for the acoustic acts that were playing, and they had a great selection of draft beers. Food coming out of the kitchen looked much nicer than standard club grub, but I wasn't hungry, so can't speak of the taste. Wish I lived closer, as Saint Rocke might turn into my local hang, but as it is, I will have to wait for special shows to make the trip. read more

Trivia nights on Mondays are awesome! Six of us grabbed a table and we stimulated our brains. The questions are hard, but we still had fun. We ended up ranking in the middle of the pack of 19 teams. That's not too shabby for first timers if you ask me! I did not eat here, but my friends ordered food and it looked delicious. They enjoyed it! The drinks were only $5, including top shelf. I'm not sure the hours for this, but it was going on the entire time we were here (~8p-11p). I want to come back for trivia night or a show or something! Anyway, the stuff in this joint are friendly and they have a really fast service when it comes to food. My mom and I ordered the guacamole with chips which is quite good for a bar food. This review is specifically for trivia night. It was really fun! Started at 8 and ended at around 10. Consisted of 6 rounds with 10 questions each round. We definitely got last place but it was really fun though. The Service --- The service was great. Our server (Pam I think) was super sweet and fun and the manager (Robert) was great as well. The host of the trivia night as fun. The Food --- We shared the Kitchen Fries which had a cheese sauce and short ribs. It was pretty good. The cheese sauce wasn't super cheesy. It had some flavor I couldn't place. The short rib was super tender though. We also had their beer special which was an an amber ale made by Strand Brewing Company. It was pretty good. The Prices --- They had specials for trivia night which were pretty good. The fries were $5 and the amber beer was $3 each. Pretty awesome. Supporting my fellow sideman and driving away from this hot valley weather was more than enough justification for me to drive down to Hermosa Beach to check out Foxx Glove @ Saint Rocke on a Tuesday night. The last time I drove all the way down to the South Bay area was to visit my cousins and a 7-month stretch of work prior to that. I've had my fair share of playing and watching shows with dozens of friends and bands in a myriad of venues across Southern California. I have my own checklist of things I observe as benchmarks for a good club. Parking: This bar has 18 FREE spots in the back including one spot for the handicapped. You'll be lucky if you find any Hollywood club with this perk! Exterior decor: The sidewalk outside of the building is a very clean without a single band flyer floating around. This tall and dark brown brick building clearly displays a marquee of club/bar name and bands lineup. Front door ticket person: The long-haired gentleman was very cool to let me walk back outside to get my camera in the car. Other clubs have money handlers that give you the hardest time about going in and out of the club. Interior decor: The brick outside is also lined inside of the bar to give it and earthy feel. Blue lights are strategically placed on the floor to accent classic wall paintings/photographs. Candles are lit on tables in addition to table lamps and recess lighting to prevent patrons from bumping into things. Large flat screens are placed in different parts of the bar to watch the game in this landscape H-configuration layout. Bathrooms: I don't have high expectations for the cleanliness of public bathrooms inside bars and clubs. This place is so clean as if it's someone's public bathroom at home. There is a lotta TLC goin' on here with Mr. Clean and Scrubbing Bubbles! Air Conditioning: Though this place is situated near the beach, they kept the AC going to keep the audience and performers from sweating. Stage: Considering the size of the building, there is ample space to squeeze in 5-6 performers with a preset backline! Drummers just need to bring their sticks, cymbals, and snare drum. Seating: Kudos to the designer of this venue in maximizing the space without looking cramped. If I were to start up my own bar/club, I would definitely get a hold of this person to design my dream venue. The bar stools are super comfortable without making you fidget to find a sweet spot. There are also plenty of comfortable sofas straddled stage left for large groups. Sound: The board is a digital mc7 32 channel board with all instruments mic'ed and dialed in by the house tech before the band rolls out their tunes. The ceiling areas are mounted with EAW speakers for the stage as well as throughout different parts of the entire club so you could hear the performers anywhere you're standing/sitting. I would LOVE the opportunity to play on this stage after my day job. Multi-media: There is a high-intensity projector mounted to a beam on the high ceiling of this place to display the band from several screens & monitors. This makes it conducive to book private events and parties. Service: I sat at the bar to be served by Josh. He was super attentive and cool to take all my food and drink orders. After my sliders came out, he checked with me to make sure they were tasty. I gave him an immediate thumbs up! Be sure to take care of him when you come and visit. Food: I ordered their original kobe beef signature sliders with a side of sweet potato fries. This place has the best sliders I've had to date as they use 100% kobe beef (I can't tell if it's 100% but was 100% of pure medium rare perfection), grilled mushroom & onions, chipotle mayo, all surrounded and wrapped in sweet Hawaiian bread. I took a picture of this on my Droid phone in the dark with flash but not worth posting. It will only cheapen the thrill when it hits your lips. Drinks: There are 12 beers on tap along with the full arsenal of clear liquid poisons. You'll never be sad with their happy hour promotions. Website: I can't imaging how much they're paying for hosting, designing, and maintenance to keep you informed of upcoming events, media of past events, menu, and other buttons that make this site sticky. Went here on a Thursday night, which I guess is dueling piano night. This place was fairly packed, but not so bad that we couldn't find a good table for 6. We all got some appetizers, which were really good. The sliders, the fries, and even the calamari (which bars very rarely do well) were all fantastic. The drinks were reasonably priced and the guys at the pianos weren't half bad. The bar is somewhat large and arranged kind of weird, where if you're not sitting in front of the pianos you can't hear them as well and don't feel like you're really part of the show. We moved halfway through the night and it was a completely different experience. This is both good and bad. The good, is that if you don't like two guys singing dirty songs at a piano, you can definitely get a corner table and not really deal with it. But unfortunately this means that the place cannot be fully devoted to the dueling pianos, and everyone won't get as into them. Having just been at a different dueling piano place in San Diego (Shout House) I know exactly how fun those things can be. Overall, good atmosphere whether you want to be chill or perhaps a little more rowdy. Though probably not a place to get sloppy drunk. read more

Can't believe I live 5 minutes from this place and never been here until last Thursday! We came to see Graham Colton and Curtis Peoples shows. Remembering back in the day it was an old bar venue before St. Rocke took over, I didn't have any expectations of this place because when it was that beat down old smelly bar back in the days, that's what stayed in my head... WOW! was I wrong! I walked in and so impressed with the decor and design! LOTS of seatings!! Absolutely awesome Venue! It is one of the best music venues/ bar lounges in the L.A.! Yes it is trendy, yes it is clean, yes it is cozy and intimate! Was able to see the stage and performances at any angel in the seatings. EXCELLENT Sounds! When you walk in, you get this great vibe and knowing that you will enjoy a great entertaining night! The stage is in the center of the place (well kind of) to the right side is the Bar section like a L- shaped bar. Towards the center are tables and chairs, towards the left back is a section for couches so people can lounge off. Towards the back are booths seatings and tables. Great crowds! Friendly bartenders and waitresses. They start serving dinner at 8pm, but artists unusually comes on at 9pm and you can enjoy an intimate dinner until the crowds slowly comes in. Food stop serving at 10pm so you can enjoy the shows, the drinks, your company, and the food! We stopped by to support my girl's cousin. They were holding a fund raiser for cancer. I couldn't pass on the opportunity considering this deadly disease has affected my family before. The evening's band was going to play songs from the Rolling Stones. We parked across the street at the CVS. I didn't feel bad considering I used the Chase ATM inside of CVS. I didn't have any expectations of this place. It looks small from the lobby area. The inside is really nice. They have a pretty good area for a live band. They have booths, a seating area near a fireplace, tall tables with stool seating and of course the wrap around wooden bar area. The walls have vintage photos of Sinatra and other bands. I really liked the decor of this place. Not to mention that they had every seating type arrangement covered except Indian style. They had a preset Happy Hour menu catered for the guests supporting the Cancer research benefit. I thought that was cool. My girl had a Pinktini Martini while I stuck with the Blue Moon and Pyramid Hef on tap. We ordered the sliders and sweet potato fries. My girl had the calamari if I recall correctly. I came here back when it was Pitcher House, but now that I live down the street, I decided to come check out the new venue. It's hard to believe the divey, beat up ol' Pitcher House used to reside here; they've completely revamped it. My friend thought it would be douche central, but this spot attracts a nice and diverse crowd. I came to check out a couple bands (including Flashback Heart Attack, who rock) and get some drinks. I had no wait getting drinks from the bartenders (and it was a pretty crowded Saturday night) and there was also a cocktail waitress who came by every time I was low. The drink prices are a tad bit higher than usual, but only by a dollar or so. They've got about a dozen beers on tap and the rest of the usual liquor. The stage is a good size and the sound quality was great. Good intimate venue to check out a fun band. A lot of tables were reserved so you'll probably have to stand, and it can get pretty crowded by the stage and narrow bar area, so just beware. The parking lot is small but parking isn't actually too bad in this part of Hermosa. The bathrooms aren't disgusting either. Also be forewarned you shouldn't show up expecting a cheap $5 show. They have some of those, but most nights the cover is around $12. It's more of a small music venue than a bar that happens to have live music! read more

Performance wasn't until 8:30pm but they had happy hour specials from 6-8pm. cant say no to happy hour special?! It's been awhile since I've been to Hermosa beach and absolutely love the area. I must say if i ever considered SoCal, Hermosa/Redonda Beach would be in mind. As we approached St. Rocke there was NO line as shown in pictures and on their website. Parking was tough to find but oddly enough we found parking right in the front. HH. Specials were 50% off of the menu for appetizers. I really didnt care about the alcohol because all alcohol tastes the same wherever you go but not the food. I kind of went on a true HAPPY HOUR and ordered much to eat for my friends and i. But for myself alone I ordered.. Chipotle Spiced Calamari, Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos, and a glass of house chardone. There was stereo music in the background the place was packed and started to get more packed. The things I noticed when i walked in was it was pretty dark. Daylight outside but pretty dark inside. I felt like I was in maze trying to find our friends and the layout of the place doesnt seem to center the stage. Not everyone can sit at their tables and watch performances which is odd for a known place for bands. I think they need to knock at least three walls down, rearrage the tables a bit, and move the bar in the back to the side and they'll be good! But who am i? I am not no architect. Chipotle Spiced Calamari - pretty good. spicy. im not much into spicy but i hung with it. for those that do not like spicy, this is not for you. the calamari was like any calamari but the batter on the calamari needs to have a little more taste to it. maybe a pinch of salt? Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos - pretty darn good. i received 4 small tacos on a plate. i could only eat two before i was stuffed. i was tempted to try my friends carne esada tacos but was too stuffed. i wish they had an appetizer mixed of the two, would have made it better. K2 started to perform and unfortunately were were one of those tables that cant see jack. we relocated ourselves to the stage area which is an odd place for the stage and dancefloor to be. small and just in an odd space. had a good time, mixed crowd, good company... except for the drunk girls infront whom we (the drummer's GF and I) tried to bump away out of our way. i had alot of fun here! ANd I'd definately go back. Food - worth the happy hour, i likes! Price - affordable (during happy hour) Ambiance - eh, as i would say "different" Service - well served. server and bartender Deduction Time. The FIXX The venue is small and ALWAYS WAY too loud for the small space. Your hair is being blasted by feedback and just loud raunchy music. Parking is a super pain in the butt. But if you want to be up close and personal with your favourite has been bands and some current, then this is for you! read more

At for starters the place is a bar with music lite options. They have cover bands nightly which are pretty fun. Up until the show they operate like any other bar. The beer selection was good, with many interesting options on tap. They also have several signature drink items, not my thing but they look ok. The happy hour tacos were great. Cheap and tasty! So all in all everything was quite enjoyable if forgettable. Ambiance was pretty cool and the staff was great, just please up your game so the place is memorable. read more
