I'm not much of a sushi buffet person but this place is on another level. Best Buffet hands down in my opinion. Very simple and clean atmosphere with 5 Star server's and service. The only place that we found that serves volcano rolls and sushimi in a buffet all you can eat. This is a new hidden gem in Suffolk and I hate spreading the news but I definitely want this place to stay in business. So that is my main reason for the review lol. All you can eat buffet that comes with dessert is second to none. People complaining about the hot food being to salty... duh it's a Japanese restaurant and if your going to complain about a sushi roll get a real Sushi roll not a avacado and complain it taste like avacado lol... read more

So glad there is a quality Sushi & Japanese restaurant in the area. We had the buffet, which came with Miso soup and desert. They don't have an ABC license yet, but who cares? The food was fantastic and much better than your normal buffet around here. Next time we are going to go a la carte as they have some really interesting items on the sushi menu. Waited 25 minutes to have our order taken. Watched 6 couples come in, sit down, get their order taken. I don't understand how they were able to take everyone else's order before us. It's Valentine's Day and there one table other than us when we showed up. 40 minutes in we finally got some sort of food. The appetizers. 45 minutes in now we wait again to see when they take our order. 1 hour in we are still waiting to get the appetizers dishes taken off the table and asked if we want anything. An hour and fifteen minutes in, I'm debating on going up to the chef and seeing if I can place an order. The table next to us got their order taken and OUR waitress looked at us and kept walking. My wife went up to see if we could close out because we were not paying 30.95$ per person to be treated like this. Absolutely will not ever recommend this place to anyone. Will never be back. My hubby is not a Sushi fan at all, but he wanted to take me out because he knows I love Sushi and we really eat Sushi. Well this place did not disappoint. The atmosphere was extremely peaceful, the food is amazing, you can get the from the menu or buffet that includes soup, salad and a dessert. This place was excellent. It's one of the only sushi places open in mid afternoon when my nieces get out of school. We got the all you can eat menu and everything looked fantastic. It also was very high quality and super fresh. My only knock on this place was the price. We've been to other all you can eat sushi spots around town and this place was about $10 more per person. A new sushi spot! Super exciting at first, but the excitement waned pretty quickly as we ate. We popped in at around 1 for lunch on a Wednesday. Very clean, small, but nice atmosphere. We were asked if we'd like to order from the menu or if we wanted the buffet. We usually eat a lottttt (and I mean, a lot) of sushi when we go out for sushi, so we opted for the buffet because they had a bunch of different rolls available. They also had a 'hot' food buffet, not super expansive but enough options to be interesting, like fried rice, chow mein, tempura veggies, spring rolls, cabbage, green beans, and a few others. Ahhhhh. Well, everything in the 'hot' section just wasn't good. The flavor was mediocre, and I don't have unreasonable standards when it comes to buffet food- it is what it is. It just wasn't, you know? Most items were way too salty, and some things felt/tasted as if they'd been sitting out since they'd opened at 11:30. The most disappointing thing was the sushi. This was NOT good sushi. Again- expectations adjusted- 'good' buffet sushi I expect to be a strong 4 or 5 out of a 10, given that it's all you can eat. And I don't mind sacrificing quality for quantity when I'm hungry hungry. This sushi though- right at the bottom at a 1 or 2. Overall flavorless, the 2 rolls that I remember the most was an avocado roll that only tasted like overripe avocado, and a roll that tasted like the cheapest canned tuna that you can imagine. We were really underwhelmed to say the least, and disappointed because the other reviews spoke so highly. Both of us didn't feel so well afterwards, and I wouldn't say it was anything extreme like food poisoning, I just get the feeling by taste/texture that the quality of ingredients used here might be below average. Two stars because it was super clean and nicely kept. Really disappointed that we spent $17.95/person for lunch. With two waters and a tip, we were out just under $50. If you want sushi, I'd recommend going 2 minutes down the road to Yama Chen's. They're not my favorite sushi spot, but they're decent and look like superstars in comparison to what we ate at Sakari Sushi. I don't and won't recommend this spot. read more

Excellent! This restaurant has made some very nice changes. Before: all you can eat, Sushi, sashimi set out to pick and choose . Then the hot food bar. Lots of selections there too. Waitstaff brought beverages, soup and salad to you. Now: all you can eat, order from the menu-anything!! The Best sashimi in a very long time. It was so fresh, good quality, white tuna was outstanding. Presentation is very nice! You don't have to place your order all at one time.as you finished a plate there was another coming right up, no long waits.. Super attentive staff, not in the annoying can't get a moment of peace way but in the your drink will never be empty type of way. The buffet has an impressive variety of fresh sushi and both the hot and cold sections of food are always clean and very well maintained. I'm always hesitant to leave a bad review because I know every restaurant can have a bad day. However, I won't eat here again. My husband and I ordered off the menu and got the awesome roll, spicy volcano roll, the dinosaur roll, and the philly roll. Service was excellent and the food tasted good. Seemed like a great experience. Once we got home, we both got sick and had pretty intense stomach cramping/nausea. I'm not sure which roll was the culprit, but I would not recommend eating here. I started out really loving this place but it has tapered off a bit. If I find someplace good I really don't mind paying a little extra but in this case what would normally cost me $26 at Samurai Japan costs me $34 here. I've had the hibachi steak and shrimp two times and the hibachi steak and chicken one time with the last time not being so great. I had the buffet once and don't plan on trying that again; everything had pretty much sat out too long and was dry and over cooked from sitting in the hot trays. The fried rice on the buffet could possibly break a tooth so I suggest ordering fresh. All of the tempura items are going to be a fairly bland. I'm not going to write the place off yet, hopefully they get better. read more
