Worst meal I have had in a long time. We waited 20 minutes after our reservation time to be seated, because they seated a group of walk-ins first. Staff speaks minimal English and did not understand our allergy requests. The food was tasteless and overcooked. Steak that was requested medium rare was served well done. They were out of most of the fountain drinks and juices and were only able to offer us diet coke and water... Without ice. Overall, the meal was very disappointing. I have been coming to Sake for years. I made reservations for the hibachi table for 7:15. We were seated immediately upon arrival, however everything that followed fell apart. After being seated for about 5 minutes, the staff had told us that only two hibachi chefs were working and that the table we were sitting at was not being used. Our options were to either move our seats and wait an hour for our food to be cooked, or dine at their regular restaurant. Because we came intending to spend a $40 gift card, we decided to move and wait. We decided on ordering appetizers and got California rolls. As time went by we realized that only ONE hibachi chef was being used. It became very frustrating when an hour and a half went by and there was still no chef at our table. He had been taking long breaks in between each meal he had been cooking. The waitress brought us over a complimentary egg roll appetizer. An hour and forty five minutes later, we did get our food, and the chef did a good job. Next came paying the bill. At the end of our meal, I was given the bill with absolutely no percentage taken off for the now 21/4 hour meal. When I asked if there was a manager I could speak with, they replied there was none. I did speak with someone and complained about our service. I questioned the reason why one would make a reservation when it apparently makes no difference. At this point I gave the waitress the $40 dollar gift card I brought with me and they returned to tell me it was only a $10 card. There was still no compensation made to our bill, and I was so angry at that point that I paid the bill and reiterated that I will never be returning again. read more

A few years ago this used to be the best place hibachi but is now disgusting, disorganized and a total disgrace. To start things off, my boyfriend and I waited 20minutes before even being greated and then were rushed to finish our order. We both got hibachi dinners and neither one of us recieved soup and salad as the appetizers that come with the dinner. She took another 30 min just to bring us water. We saw our sushi prepared for almost 40 minutes on the sushi bar, our waitress never gave it to us and then we saw her bring our sushi plate to the wrong table. When we told her to just forget the sushi now because it was taking sooooooo long she REFUSED and gave me a roll i never even ordered or like..... The manager even walked by and asked us how everything was, i said TERRIBLE and he just walked away...not to mention there were so many fruit flies, the table was broken and it was so cold I had to keep my winter jacket on the entire meal. Overall we waisted $40 on two hibachi dinners that took over 2 hours...and never got the appetizers that come with the meal, even after asking. Awful. I've been going to Sake since it first opened. Loved it then but went for a hibachi dinner last night. Such a MAJOR disappointment with this establishment. I will NEVER return there! We had a reservation for 6 pm for 6 people, we did not get seated until 7pm. Not only did we wait a long time for our reserved seating at the Hibachi, the service was terrible. The staff was removing our food right from under us without asking if we were done with our food. They rushed us, took our food without asking and then had the audacity to ask if we would move to a booth so they could get more customers in our spot. Very rude and poorly managed. Nor did they ask if we wanted dessert or additional drinks. So very disappointed. Like I mentioned earlier, I once enjoyed this restaurant but will never give my business there again! read more

Small portions compared to every other hibachi place I've ever been too (and we like hibachi) and petty tasteless. We went here to celebrate our daughters birthday Right from the moment we walked in, no one at the booth to greet us. It took a good 5 mins plus before we were even recognized! Then we sit down and it seems like the staff is in a complete rush, my wife tried to engage the waitress to ask for something, the waitress was so rude, engaging my wife while walking away from her because she had other priorities!!! We did not get our hibachi dipping sauces until the end when all the food was cooked and we weren't even going to get any until we had to ask for it!!!! We also never got our salad that comes with the hibachi!! We got the check and that was another complete mess!!! Overcharged for things we never ordered? When we left it was clear how unorganized this place was, a lady who had placed a phone order had been waiting for over half an hour to pick up her dinner, she was so frustrated she just walked out without her order!!! I really love the food at Sake, their sushi is delicious BUT the last time I was there made me think twice. Our party had a reservation but 40 minutes later we were still waiting. The Owner kept smiling and shaking his head "yes" every time we asked if we could be seated soon. The bartender was a sweetheart! (I think her name was Dayna) She heard us making plans to go someplace else and convinced us to have a drink while we waited. The Pear Martini was awesome! As we sat sipping at the bar I noticed that that poor girl was juggling not only the bartending but the phone and the take out orders as well as hostessing. It seemed like they were very short staffed, besides the bartender there were only 2 waitresses (who did not seem to speak english) and the owner. Once we were seated we realized how hot and stuffy it was, Maybe trying to save money on A/C? The sushi was great as always and I could see how busy the sushi chefs were so I got up and stuffed their tip jar with a little extra. There were a few random fruit flies which was annoying, I agree with the other customer who mentioned the sanitation problem. I love the food and the location is convenient for me but I think they need to step it up a notch when it comes to the cleanliness and comfort of their guests. They need to have more staff like the bartender, who was the only reason we stayed that night. My final comment is the price, Sake Cafe is not cheap. I expect a little more for my money. read more

Ok, I'll try my best not to compare this place to traditional hibachi restaurants like Benihana and others. Service was awful. Took our family to their favorite hibachi spot. Boy was I disappointed. Dropped over 200.00 and the service and food was not the same. The restaurant was basically empty and we still waited 10-15 minutes for a waitress to get us started. We ordered what we usually get. Filet Mignonette, Lobser, Scallops, chicken. Well the chef was very uninspired. No show for us. Blah. The shrimp was over cooked as were the steak, lobster and chicken. The chicken was hard and much too chewy. The filet was so sprayed with soy that's all you could taste. So not the same. Noodles and rice were ok but what happened to the meat. Cokes went dry with no refills for a while. My husband and I are regulars here. This is by far our favorite sushi restaurant and we've been to many. Wish I could buy their salad dressing too. Never disappoints us. I have eaten here a few times and although the food is good, the evening ends up in a disaster due to the staff, this is the story of my final visit to Sake. I was a dinner with my son in the back room of the restaurant. This room has hard walls and is very loud, I hate being seated in this room but followed quietly as we were escorted to a table, my mistake. The room had a table with two men and two young teen girls (I assume their daughters), a couple was at the table next to us and at a few tables that were put together was a large group of young females (not ladies by any means) that were pretty intoxicated. The room was deafening with their drunk babble. The table with the men & teens were right next to the table when one of the men said something about the noise. A drunk female jumped up and sprinted to the table screaming that they were not loud and they were just having fun. The man asked her to leave the table, she turned and started yelling at this teen with braces about her date being out of line, then realizing it was not a date she told the teen how she felt sorry for her because of her dad and gave her vulgar opinion of the man. The man stood up and told her not to address the girl and to go back to her table. She yelled "woman abuse" and her drunk looser friends all started chiming in. The waitress poked her head in the room, did nothing and left! The two men showed great restraint and paid and left. The owner knew what happened was wrong and started sending out free food to everyone who remained. Very disappointed in the staff, they allowed drunk people to run out a family of customers very sad. I feel the owner and/or staff had an obligation to their customers not have to deal with this behavior while they are spending money in their establishment. This place has gone down hill. We went for an early dinner. There was only one other couple seated when we got there. So it was a surprise when they forgot to put in our appetizer. We had to remind the waitress after we were served our miso soup that the spring rolls didn't come out. We ordered four rolls; salmon avocado, tuna cucumber, sweet potaoto and veegtable. The rolls were very sloppy. The rice was falling off. The salmon had a white tough sinuey piece running through it (not sushi grade acceptable) and the tuna was too big a piece and unenjoyable. I had a terrible experience here. It's not even worthy of a star. They cannot add multiple credit cards and yelled at us about it, complained when one of us had an allergy to the food, gave us food two separate times with food that we had already told them we were allergic to, forgot to give parts of our meal to us, and much more. They treated us with rude comments, not to mention they seated us an hour later than our reservation and it took them an hour to process our check. Sake has been one of our favorite places for many years. We got there every years for our son's birthday and even had his communion celebration there as well as Easter one year. However, we were hugely disappointed with our last visit on Saturday 6/25/16. We brought our family, five of us, and met a couple there. The waitress barely spoke English and could not understand our drink order of dirty martini, straight up martini etc. The bartender came out to clarify. The drinks came out slowly, one at a time and really were not very good. I've had much better on previous visits, that's for sure! I told the waitress that our daughter was allergic to shellfish and to please make sure the meats and fish come out on a separate tray and that they are cooked on the hibachi last, which is what they always do. She said yeah, yeah and told me to remind the chef. When the chef came out I told him the same info and he looked surprised and had to go back to the kitchen to get new meat and shellfish on a separate tray. She clearly did not understand what I was telling her! The chef was good. The food was good. The service was terrible. It was an expensive evening and we left not feeling very pleased. I love it here. One time My sister mother and I walked in with 8 yes 8 kids without reservation and they were packed!!!! But the owner as sweet as he is kept apologizing and assuring us he would get us seated soon brought us a free plate of spring roll appetizers to hold us and the kids over! how nice!. He reconized us because we go in there often. Not that often but often enough to be a familiar face to him. They are a bit eager sometimes it feels like they are watching you to get empty plates off the table or refll tea or water but still very nice. read more

The last time I went to Sake was a while back. I was with some family members and as we sat down in a booth we can see into the back room (which had its lights off since it wasn't busy at the time) multiple workers sleeping on the booths and chairs pushed together there. It was weird and awkward but not as awkward as what was about to occur. We sat down and we were shocked at how unbelievably rude our waitress was being to us. She was so apparently aggravating that we weren't ready to order as fast as she'd like. After she rolled her eyes at us for the fifth time we decided we were too uncomfortable to stay. As we got up to leave the manager who we had just seen sleeping in the back room came up to us asking for us to stay. He said he would give us a discount but we declined. We told him we were leaving because of the attitude of our waitress. He then went straight to the waitress who was watching from the back and started yelling at her saying "this is the (I forget what number) time this happened with you!" Clearly she is the worst. Overall this is the most strange experience I ever had at a restaurant and will never go back. read more

I will preface this by saying that the food is decent. The hibachi experience is really good. I've been here multiple times for that, and it's been a good time. The hibachi chefs are friendly, funny, and put on a good show (that's their job). The wait staff kills this place. They are not particularly friendly, and seem very grumpy when they serve you. I noticed the attitude a bit at the hibachi table, but it was much more noticeable the last few times I ate in the dining room area. You're on their time, and they make you feel like you're being a huge inconvenience. We sat down the last time we ate, and waited 10 min. before anyone even came to take a drink order. I almost walked out. Aside from that, the food is pretty good. They have good portions, and their lunch specials are a bargain. The sushi is ok. It's not the best, but not the worst either. If the service was better, it might be worth another star. I'd suggest the takeout lunch specials if you're going to eat here. read more

Horrible dining experience. After waiting to be seated, empty tables available we had to wait an unacceptable amount of time for appetizer's to remind several waiters we were still waiting for dinners and appetizers while customers around us came and went. Waitress kept saying how sorry she was after we waited over an hour for our dinner to arrive. She was new, not my problem -claimed she was calling manager's manager on site. We asked for our meals to Be packed up because after an hour half wait no appetite. Their attempt to rectify the unacceptable service was to comp us 4 glasses of wine which we wouldn't have needed if we were served our meals in a reasonable amount of time. 92.00 bill and they offer 4 glasses of wine for party of 4 - are you kidding me. I will be sure to pass on my terrible dinning experience to family and friends- this will amount to a lot more than 4 glasses of wine! Shame on the owners for having such inept help on a busy Thursday night. Try Puckett or the restaurant next door. 2 stars food is decent service not worth the experience. read more

Terribly disappointed. We traveled almost an hour to go to a different restaurant that had a two hour wait. Just down the road was Sake which didn't appear to have a line. My family and I love hibachi restaurants so we figured we would give it a try. At first, it looked lovely. We were seated right away. The dining area is very bright. Not much ambiance. We were the first to be seated at a hibachi. At first I noticed that the outside of the hibachi and the table were filthy. Bits of old food were stuck to the outside of the hibachi. Yuck! The hibachi restaurant we normally go to is immaculate. The service was fine. The hibachi chef was animated. The food was so-so. I ordered a medium filet...which was overcooked. I was disappointed in the ginger sauce; it was different than I am used to. The noodles were also completely different than I have had at other hibachi restaurants. I am pretty sure it was spaghetti. Also, they put onions in the noodles...not a big fan. Then, to top it all off, I ended up with a hair in my dish. Definitely wasn't mine, and I'm pretty sure it didn't belong to the chef either. Not sure where it came from. I barely ate any of my meal (which was also slightly more expensive than my favorite hibachi restaurant). We will not be going back unfortunately. read more

So I usually try to find the good in every restaurant because I used to be a server and a bartender. With that said the good part about my experience was the waiter she was really nice and sweet. The problem came when we ordered drinks and didn't like them. I ordered a strawberry margarita and it taste like water (I'm not exaggerating) there was no strawberry flavor or tequila or sour mix. My friend ordered a frozen strawberry daiquiri and it was like slush and juice. We only tastes the drinks and wanted to return them because they didn't taste good at all. The server said she had to get the manager we said ok. The manager came out talked to the bartender and server but ignore us and walked past at least three times before coming to our table without a word and literally snatching the drinks off the table as she does this I ask if she is the manager and she snaps yes and walks away.Rudest experience I have ever had. The sushi is good but i won't ever go back again. Needless to say we never got to the food. read more
