My mom and I recently visited Sake House to use a birthday coupon. The Shrimp and Chicken with rice and vegetables were outstanding! Hot, delicious, and a big portion size for leftovers. We came during late lunch and had a pleasant experience. Interior was clean with peaceful music. Friendly staff and excellent customer service!

This is our go to spot in North Charleston. I love the Sashimi Deluxe with fresh wasabi. We get the Philly roll fried and that slaps as well! Our servers Olive and Caitlan were awesome!

My partner and I visited this place as we were looking for good food and drinks! Everything was delicious and we enjoyed it. The fried rice was a little too hard with the spicy tuna. Our server was super attentive and friendly! I love the decor! You have the option to sit in the booth or table side for the cooking demo!

Food was amazing and so was the service. 10/10 recommend. It was a great experience for my daughter's birthday. The cook sang her happy birthday and the waitress.

Was at the spa and wanted sushi afterwards. Stopped in for a late lunch. Service was quick, and courteous and the food was good. Love a good sushi roll and salad with ginger dressing. It's been a minute since I last was here could definitely go back.

This restaurant offers sushi and hibachi. They have a very big space, perfect for special occasions or a fun eating out adventure with friends. We loved their sushi options- unique and one of a kind. They have the traditional maki rolls on top of some specialty maki, colorful appetizers and vegetarian/vegan options. You can also order bento boxes. All of the food came out looking like art. Our server was nice and took our orders right away. They have lunch specials which include either hibachi, sushi or a bento box Monday-Friday 11a-3 plus Saturday specials from 1130a-3p.

Nice ambiance, but the sushi itself was unimpressive. The water feature in the middle is pretty, and no complaints about the service. Overall, though, I wouldn't call this place great or anything special, especially for Charleston.

Came in the middle of lunchtime on a Saturday and they served lunch specials until 3pm... On a SATURDAY! Automatic star for this. Plus they have an adorable blow up chef welcoming you in the door abd cute little wheel out front in the lobby to spin for reviews -- win a lucky cat, chopsticks, a little teensy figure, a sushi roll and more! The staff is friendly and quick service was provided. We didn't do a hibachi table but you could order both sushi and hibachi there. Yummy GF fried rice, fluffy with some egg. And they have fun drinks... I opted for the Melon Ball and some cold sake -- Fuji Apple!

On one side it is an "all you can eat" menu. On the other side, you order à la carte off of a regular menu. On the all-you-can-eat side, it appears you'll probably need a reservation, as it is quite popular. We did not have a reservation but didn't want all you can eat anyway, so we sat on the side with the regular menu. The menu is quite large, with a good variety of sushi and other dishes. We got there during happy hour, and they had some great deals on appetizers, certain types of sushi, and drinks. Every employee that we encountered was friendly and helpful. The presentation of the food was lovely, as you can see from the photos below, but overall, the food was just so-so. The sushi was good, but definitely not the best I've ever had. It wasn't terrible, just nothing to write home about. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and that was not great, compared to other restaurants. It was fairly thick and heavily battered (as far as calamari goes), and tasted as if the oil hadn't been changed in a while. We also ordered regular egg rolls, which were OK. As far as ambience, for some reason many restaurants play loud music that isn't suitable for dining (have they always done this and I just never noticed?), and this is one of them. Overall, I do feel that we received good food for the price, and again, all of the employees were stellar. We will probably try this location again.

It was fast and tasty and made fresh to order, and was about the same price as what I would pay at the Publix next door for the same. I ordered the hibachi steak (medium), but it arrived well done and didn't taste fresh at all. The fried rice was basically just browned rice--no flavor, no vegetables. According to the menu, the dish is supposed to come with vegetables, but none were included. I noticed an option online to "add more vegetables" for an extra $5, but I didn't choose it because I assumed veggies were already part of the plate, as advertised. For the price, the quality is just not there. Everything felt bland and underwhelming. I'm honestly not sure what keeps people coming back or what they're ordering that makes them enjoy it. For context, I'm not a sushi person--mainly due to the texture combinations. I like the ingredients separately, just not all rolled together. So if sushi is their strength, maybe that's where the better experience is... but I wouldn't know. Overall, I don't plan to order again. Just not worth the cost or the letdown.

I appreciated how they filled their spicy tuna rolls with chunky pieces of fish instead of the usual ground tuna used in other sushi restaurants. Their offerings and methods of preparation, paired with their higher price point, suggests they are a higher end establishment. However, the atmosphere was undoubtedly on the casual side, and their service, although friendly and knowledgeable, exuded a lack of experience and the same attention to detail that they put into their food. This was especially apparent after coming from eating at other restaurants in a similar price bracket, where you can sense the waitstaff had a lot of pride and passion for their craft, and it didn't feel like it was just a job for them. In contrast, our experience at Shiki felt far more transactional, and lacked that "customer obsession" and genuine warmth. That said, it's difficult to judge a restaurant's culture just from a single night, and maybe other customers had a different experience from us. Ultimately, if good sushi is your priority and you are willing to splurge a bit, Shiki meets and even exceeds that bar.

They exist, but some of the best are so unassuming you can walk right past them. Shiki is exactly that kind of place--a small, warm, inviting restaurant tucked into a strip mall that feels like a neighborhood secret. Loc, our waiter, greeted us as soon as we sat down with water, a friendly welcome, and a helpful walk-through of the menu. We started with wine and sake--always a promising beginning. The first course was seaweed salad with baby octopus, and I could have happily sipped that dressing like a cocktail. Light, bright, perfectly balanced, with tender octopus that added just the right bite. From there we decided to sample our way through the menu and ordered a lineup of rolls: Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Shiromi, Rainbow, Spider, Lemon Salmon, and Eel. Each one seemed better than the last. The Spicy Shiromi was the clear standout--absolutely spectacular. What really sets Shiki apart is that every roll has its own distinct flavor instead of the one-note sameness you find at so many sushi spots. You can tell real care goes into the preparation. If you're searching for fresh, thoughtful, genuinely delicious sushi, don't overlook this little gem. Shiki is the real deal.

Very limited seating across the room but we luckily we snagged a reservation. Our server was very friendly and went over some specials with us before taking our drink orders and inquired about allergies. We went family style and started with the crispy tuna rice, marinated cucumbers, dumplings and pork bao. We added on a few rolls and ended with the sesame lamb noodles and duck fried rice. The dumplings were unique with this crispy shell on top and had a creamier sauce. We did have to ask for soy sauce which is usually something we expect to get right away after ordering sushi. He gave us one dish of soy instead of all of our own which I thought was weird so we asked for more. I enjoyed the textures of the dumplings but I felt the sauce lacked a bit in flavor to complement the dumplings. Crispy rice looked appealing but we were all disappointed with the lack of flavor, especially in the tuna mixture alright the textures were on point. The sushi rolls were made well and you get about 5 bigger pieces. The best thing we had were the cucumbers! Simple and delicious, packed with flavor. The sesame lamb noodles were also prepared well, and had nice flavors overall that were unique. We spent about $200 per couple which I felt was quite steep for the amount of food we got, but overall I would say we enjoyed ourselves but a few things just fell short on flavors.
