This is a pretty impressive and fun place if you want to entertain your friends. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk in you are greeted by a friendly and helpful staff and decorative setting! It definitely feels like you are traveled outside of Charleston. We tried a variety of sushi and sashimi... it was all fresh. So much so that each fish had the distinct flavor of the fish vs it all tasting the same. The sushi and sashimi sets are a good way to go if you want to experience a variety of flavors. Plus they do an amazing job in the presentation... honestly that is part of the fun and joy eating at the Sake house. Of course you have to order a couple of sake drinks. Came here to get some sushi and was seated 5 minutes after walking in. The restaurant was not busy, from the door I saw probably 2-3 tables. When being seated, my boyfriend went to the restroom and when he came back the server still had not come to get my drink order. After 20 minutes of staring at each other, I frustrated got up and shouted if we can order...a gentleman comes up to us and tells us he's not our server but he's gonna get our server. I've never thought of this place being a good takeout spot but my friend was picking up so I placed an order. We got some sushi and I got an order of chicken yaki udon. My co-worker and I went to lunch yesterday. Arrived at our usual 11:15 timeframe. When we finally got to order, we both ordered the Shrimp Teriyaki lunch box. We both noticed that the place was not as busy as usual. It didn't take long to find out why. We waited nearly an hour for our food. When it did arrive, it was just plain grilled shrimp. After about 15 mins we finally saw our server again. She asked if everything was ok. We stated no, we did not get what we ordered. She soon returned with Teriyaki sauce and said here, just pour it on top. Of course by then, the shrimp was cold. When the bill finally arrived, sure enough, full price for everything. I informed her we were very disappointed in the food and service. Her response, it's my first day. Sorry we wont be back. read more

This was my first time in. Loved the ambiance, you first walk into a large area with a smoking waterfall pond with gold fish. The place is quite big, with a lot of seating in both the sushi area as well as the hibachi table area. We sat at the sushi bar (my favorite place to eat) Ivan the sushi chef, was very personable and a nice guy. Iris, our server, was a champ!!! She was as busy as can be running around taking care of many customers and didn't miss a beat. She was a rock star who took great care of us. The food was quality. I love my eel avocado hand roll. Ivan made it perfect. It's been a long time since a chef has made it right and I eat sushi once a week. Sushi was fresh and tasted great. Edemame was cooked perfect and saki was hot. I just pooped myself immediately after eating the sushi, the salmon had a gritty chalky taste, and I thought it was just taste, my steak and shrimp hibachi were well done, steak almost was too chewy to eat, and just finished throwing up. Idk what's going on but definitely not worth $76 for this meal I regurgitated. If I was the restaurant owner I'd want to make sure that the food was up to par and the fish as fresh as can be. The service was ok however I know how it is when your ready to get off and go home after a long work day. The inside is cozy wasn't pack at all me and another table was there. I ordered the salmon and shrimp meal it came with a soup and salad that has delicious ranch dressing. The salmon was kind of bland it taste like unseasoned just salmon.
