I pulled open my trusty Yelp app...scanned over the options...hmmmm Wawa always hits the spot...but no...I needed true sustenance. And warm sake to break through the chill. Although I felt a slight bit of judgment from the server when I did not choose the recommended non-filtered sake...but sometimes you just need hot sake...You know what, I don't have to explain myself. Upon entering, you are met with the peaceful bubble and flow of a fountain. I was quickly sat and received amazing service throughout the night. They have taken many a COVID mitigation measure...so if that is an important thing to you during a global pandemic...add that to your list of pros. I was truly impressed with their selection. I ended up with the Larb Ki, spring rolls, an eel hand roll, and shrimp sushi. It was all amazing. I was truly tempted to try the Bangkok Flounder...but have high expectations and have been hurt before. Deciding not to open myself up to that kind of heartbreak I just got myself a decent sampling of what sounded good. I have to say...I highly recommend this place...my only critique...you know how some places do the pre-calculted tip and put it at the bottom of the receipt? Sake does not do this...and I absolutely hate doing math...but I feel like the atmosphere, service, and food more than make up for this minor failing. Great food selections. Authentic Asian desires. Eaten there with my co-workers. Space is very large but may be reserved. Other areas take 1-6 people. One and Two people is best. Another thing I noticed is there were plenty of tables with little ones kids and as our grand daughter started screaming and getting very excited and she is 17 months old and was eating with chopsticks nobody seemed to be irritated. The server was very great slight communication issues but nothing that were not handled! One of the owners and lady is typically hustling the whole time and will assist if you need as she did swing by a couple times to be sure we were doing good and our drinks and needs were taken care of. Young gentleman up creating the amazing sushi is truly Top-Notch! Their sushi is super high-quality sashimi is amazing we had a couple changes to our big Jumbo Carnival Cruise Boat and the additional charge was $2.50 for more than likely $20 worth of high-quality sashimi and sushi's as we chose to exclude a few things but add the best! Nice family style restaurant with a healthy variety to order from with featured daily specials. Tonight we had teriyaki chicken - 4 pieces on sticks with two types of dipping sauce, an order of spring rolls with duck sauce, an order of soup and the special of the night, beef ribs (4). We particularly enjoyed the ribs coated in a tasty brown sauce. Previously we have enjoyed shrimp Pad Thai, a personal favorite. Although on the menu, we were told there was no coffee. We did order hot tea but it came as a tea bag in a coffee cup not the traditional teapot with steeped tea thus it was weak. There are a variety of alcohol and non-alcohol bevetages. Hands down best sushi in the near vicinity, from the Burg up to the Bridge. Good sushi deals, and the other food (eg, gyoza) has always been tasty too. I eat here regularly and have never had a bad experience, in or out. They also have a nice sake selection, and I'd recommend splurging at least once and complementing your meal. Takeout is convenient. If you're going in and want the best deal on a lot of sushi, the lover boat is the way. This restaurant is nestled in amongst other food eateries, including another sushi restaurant. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated, reminded me of a massage parlor, very relaxing. The employees were nice, but everything took forever. It took forever to place our order, to receive the food, to receive the check. The sushi was ok. I've definitely had better, but I've also definitely had worse, which is why I've given this place 3 stars. This is a pretty solid place in Stafford honestly! They are a little pricey but it's a good atmosphere and a nice place to go with family to catch up over good quality asian food. I recommend their rolls and standard Thai food like drunken noodles and pad Thai. I also really enjoyed the chicken satay, although I'm not really sure if it's exactly traditional Indonesian style! Next time I go I'll definitely get a fried rice dish bc it looked really good on the other persons table haha and also a sushi roll. read more

Poor food for my first time. Yaki udon tasted horrible. I chose to add beef & the end result is flavorless beef in a almost flavorless order. Gyoza was fairly decent. This is my favorite sit-down restaurant in Stafford and my favorite type cuisine, Thai food! I usually get the "Panang Curry with Chicken" and a side of brown rice, and mix it all together. If you like healthy and spicy cuisines, than you should definitely try this place out. If you get curry, the waiters will ask how spicy you want it from a range of 1 through 4. That should accommodate the full spectrum of customers who both hate and love spicy food. I think they also serve Japanese cuisines, but I haven't tried those dishes out yet. read more

I had a hard time deciding between the Phuket spicy seafood and green curry. I decided on the spicy seafood at a level 3 out of 4 spice level. It was SO DELICIOUS. It had shrimp, mussels, scallops, and squid and very reasonably priced. My boyfriend had Panang curry, also level 3 spicy, and it was also heavenly. East Meets West in Stafford. My wife and I dined here this evening and were pleased with our experience. The food was fresh, the service satisfactory and the prices not unreasonable. As fans of sushi we were looking forward to experiencing Sake. We arrived during the busy dinner period but were seated right away. The decor was clean and pleasant albeit a bit bland. Hopefully some theme paintings/pictures will find their way onto the walls. Table spacing is a bit on the tight side contributing to above normal noise levels. We were slightly disappointed that they did not yet have their ABC permit, so we ordered hot tea instead (served in coffee cups with a teabag.) We ordered a 6x6 sushi combo plate and a shrimp tempura appetizer. Additionally we ordered bowls of tom yum and miso soups. The miso was pleasant but a bit watery. Alternately, the tom yum was a bowlful of flavor and was delicious. Even though the shrimp tempura menu picture showed 5 pieces of shrimp and we only received 3, the rest being made up of vegetables, it was light and flavorful. Both the nigiri and sashimi were fresh and nicely presented on attractive white plates. The service was fairly good but needs to mature. That being said, our server asked for our feedback several times indicating they care and have the desire to improve. We look forward to trying Sake again soon. read more

This was my first time here and I'm glad I came. I hope that Sake continues to do well, because I DO appreciate restaurants who provide fresh choices with excellent service. The interior of Sake is quite pleasing and comfortable, with beads and curtains which provide a subtle privacy to your dining experience. Each of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Asking the waitress about menu choices revealed that she was informed and eager to please. The appetizer of Shrimp Tempura consisted of beautifully made shrimp, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. It also came with fried zucchini and sweet potato. For my entree, I chose the Basil Sauce (Kra Prow) with shrimp. This Thai basil sauce with garlic, Thai spices, bell pepper and fresh basil leaves was an excellent choice, as suggested by my waitress. Given the option of 1-4 on their spiciness scale, I chose #4 and wasn't disappointed. The perfectly cooked shrimp, fresh basil and the spicy broth made for an excellent meal. When you first pull into the restaurant, the exterior design doesn't seem like a Asian restaurant. The parking is plentiful. On the inside, it has a certain intimate feel and cozy interior. The booths even have pulled back curtains. The service prompt and my group was able to get seated quickly. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the food. I ordered the Thai fried rice as an appetizer and it was decent. Then I ordered the drunken noodles and it tasted pretty good with just the right amount of spice and flavor. I then asked the waiter to recommend me some sushi and he brought me a spicy salmon roll and the jb tempura roll. This is where the restaurant truly shines as its sushi quality matches the best in the DC metropolitan area. I was surprised because I didn't expect such quality outside of NoVa. Jason was truly amazing! The food came out very fast. We started with the crying tiger, the meat was very tender and fresh! We had the sake coladas which were delicious! Not too heavy and very refreshing. The food came out soon after and the presentation was lovely! We didn't know we would get it on the love boat (thought it was upon request).
