This was on our list to try since we often drive by. Though it's in a strip mall, once inside it looks like a traditional Japanese restaurant with a small sushi bar and some dine in tables. Our server was fairly new but she checked in on us enough and the owner came by to check in so I'd say the service was excellent. We ordered the super lettuce wrap which was really refreshing with the lettuce and the soy paper wrap. Definitely a winner! The Kamikaze roll however was more disappointing. The albacore topping was over cooked and dry, was expecting albacore sushi and it wasn't very fresh. The fatty tuna sushi was good and they even gave us an extra piece! Boyfriend loves fatty tuna! We also got the avocado salmon cappacio. It wasn't as fresh as other cappacio we've had at other sushi spots. A bit fatty and don't think we'd order it again. We also got the mix tempura. The oil used to fry was old and it was greasy, dark and over crispy. Also won't order this again. Overall, there were some hits and misses on the food we ordered. I returned here after coming here, a while ago and I enjoyed it but needless to say, I will never return again the service was subpar. The food was horrible not the way I remembered and poor tasting even to the point where I got sick after immediately eating the food. I looked at their menu pictures on Yelp (thanks Yelpers). I went with the beef teriyaki plate and since I wanted to try their sushi, I went with 1 order of salmon nigiri (ponzu/onion version). I picked up my food and away back to the office. The salmon nigiri was awesome, the fish was very fresh. The beef teriyaki plate, they do give you a lot of sauce (on the side), was thin sliced and tender. I will say that I was not really into the sauteed vegetables, I think too much garlic? Our friendly neighborhood sushi spot! We absolutely LOVE Sake Sushi and it's for so many reasons, but the main two are the friendliness of the staff and of course the delicious food. The owners treat everyone like family and everyone that works there follows their lead. Sake sushi is small and has a nice patio area. I've never had to wait here. I think they're a bit more expensive than other sushi spots. They're eel is very good and I do love their edamame. Overall I had a good, nice experience at SS&G, but it was diminished with my last order. I sat at the sushi bar and the staff was attentive, and pleasant and the sushi was fresh and the portions were generous. The place is clean, open and airy. The Hamachi and Uni were outstanding and every thing was pretty awesome except the unagi. It was bland, tasteless, mushy and overcooked. Not exactly high praise. I have seen this once before at a sushi restaurant I used to go to in Hayward in N. California. They pre-cooked the unagi and let it sit in a pile in the chiller, then they take out a precooked piece and heat. Sake, Sushi and Grill does the same thing and it may be the cause of my less than perfect finish to my meal. In any case, I will not be ordering he unagi here again. Will I be back?. Didn't have the best experience.. Valentine's Day, it started off well, they had a line out the door but they got us to sit down within 5mins. Then it felt like we had 5 different servers come to our table and ask the same questions, didn't seem organized at all. We ordered then waited for an hour for only two rolls and edamame. we got the Honeymoon Roll and the Rattle Snake Roll. The honeymoon was absolutely disgusting, it had yogurt on top of the fresh fish and my date got sick from this!! The rattle snake was mediocre to say the least. Too much rice, had theses stale hard crunchy things on top that were like rocks in your mouth while you ate the roll. After it was obvious we were "done" and ready to leave, not one server came to check on us for an hour after until we flagged someone down. Wont be returning. read more

The owner came out and was very unprofessional and threw a little temper tantrum when one of the guests in our party asked about ingredients missing from her salad. Chicken teriyaki and shrimp crunch roll was likewise great. The highlight for me was the appetizer,grilled kama (salmon neck) with ponzu dip. The serving was huge for $7.95 and for an appetizer.
