My family and I recently came here and were completely taken aback by how much the quality has declined and gone downhill! The sushi rice was very wet and mushy and the nigiri pieces were paper thin!! It was almost like an entirely different restaurant compared to when we first stopped by! It felt so wrong that we were being served 90% rice and 10% fish. The balance was completely off and the quality isnt worth what we're paying for. We even respectfully brought this up because we genuinely wanted to give feedback rather than simply leave unhappy but they continued to serve the same quality with nothing changed. Although it was very disappointing to see the quality and portions go down, it was even more frustrating for us to bring up our concerns and have them dismissed entirely. Overall, "shrinkflation" really took a hit here and we understand that food costs fluctuate and restaurants have to make adjustments but sacrificing quality to this extent isn't the answer. We wouldve much rather paid a little more to get the same fresh and well-balanced nigiri than continue seeing portions shrink while the wet mushy rice increases. We truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because we'd love to keep supporting this local spot but if this is the new standard, it's hard to justify coming back or recommending it. For a restaurant literally named "PREMIUM," the only thing premium about this place was the bill. My partner and I came in on a weekday to a virtually empty dining room. We opted for the AYCE option because we were starving, expecting a decent spread. Instead, we left $100+ poorer (after tax and tip) and still semi-hungry because only 2/3 of what hit our table was edible. The raw fish was a major red flag. Some cuts were weirdly chewy, dry, or fatty, and a couple of pieces had a faint sour smell. The uni was dry and brown in color. The nigiri and carpaccio slices were pretty thin. The rice, terrible. It wasn't proper sushi rice, but rather overcooked, mushy grain packed at a ridiculous 1:3 fish-to-rice ratio. I've never seen an AYCE spot skimp this hard on cuts. The only saving grace on the plate was the fried items, which were at least done right. On the bright side, our server was great, attentive and took great care of us despite the empty dining room. Unfortunately, good service can't save bad sushi. Save your money, your time, and your appetite, we definitely won't be returning. read more

It was such a pleasure to visit this location. I usually go to the Fullerton location since it's closer to me, which I also love. However we decided for this location since they close late. Plus they have happy hour after 9 pm. We visited on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday. And we had a blast, birthday girl got a free shot from the waiter. Which was such a pleasure. I didn't get his name but he was the only one Wednesday night and also Friday night since I went back the same week. Sushi was amazing. Very fresh and came out fast. We had $4 beers and $7 soju. My wife and I absolutely love AYCE sushi and wanted to find a spot near us. During our Yelp search, I read the great reviews from Hello Sushi and that alone was enough to pique my interest. Going to the restaurant the host was very polite and immediately sat us. The ordering process was very similar to other AYCE restaurants where you get a sheet and choose the quantities of sushi, appetizers and other dishes you'd like. You are given the options to do three rounds of orders. Overall, the service was very quick. I ordered innumerable sushi pieces which are depicted in the attached photos and this came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The fish was very fresh and melts with each bite. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very comforting and fun since there is an IU cutout sign and kpop music playing. Anytime I see an IU cut out and hear KPOP music, I just know the restaurant is good. The waiter is very attentive as well and is able to read our facial expressions of when we're feeling stuffed and nearing a food coma. My wife and have been here 2 times and we will keep returning. I went in the restaurant for a pick up and I couldn't find the staff there. The restaurant is small, but very nicely decorated inside. Finally after 5 mins, I went to the sushi counter and picked up my food. I enjoyed my bento box very much, teriyaki chicken was on point, salmon was fresh and delicious, tempura was crunchy, though it can be a bigger portion. They had to get the chopsticks, plates, and menus completely ready before inviting guests to sit. Came here on a friend's recommendation and it was good. They have good price on AYCE but we ordered a la carte since we weren't that hungry. There are so many good choices on the menu. Each thing we ate was delicious but most impressive was the service. There was only one sushi chef and one server present (from what I saw) and although it wasn't incredibly busy at 9;45pm/10:00pm, there were a couple tables, a couple take out orders, and the service was still amazing. Everything we ordered were very good and we will definitely return. Only main downsides I cam speak to were some details to the food. The end pieces on the radish roll were disappointing- just shrimp vs the fish going through entire roll and the spicy albacore burritos crispy fried rice was bigger than the fish. Even with those downsides, I will not hold it against the place sincr taste was still on point. One of the people in our party did not want AYCE at first and the server was willing to accommodate him.
