Food is/was great. Website and ordering system insanely flawed. Grossly flawed. Last order a few months ago they they shorted an item (take out). No biggie, it happens. Today, however, I ordered online (via desktop). Transaction going through with a weird 2 or 3 minute (don't remember which) timer countdown. Order doesn't go through. Error message says the order is missed. I was charged but an automatic refund can take a few hours to several days(rare case) see attached pic if said message. Incidentally, there's a large convenient "Try again" button that I pressed before reading said message. Process repeated and I was charged twice. Second time I learned my lesson and called the restaurant. Was told they are busy and are not taking outside orders....??? Really? This pissed me off. They waste my time, hold $250 dollars on my credit card (could be a few hours to several days) The guy on the phone mentions it could take a week. Are you f'n kidding me! F you for this inconvenience and essentially stealing my money for a few hours to a week. Why is your website taking orders you can't fulfil?? This review is strictly on the service. Friday i came in hoping to enjoy dinner. I was told the wait for 4 people would be about 10 minutes (no biggie,we waited). 2 people waited outside and me and a girlfriend iside on the side because it was cold and friend is pregnant so OBVIOUSLY she is taking all precautions to not catch a cold etc. The young waiter had the audacity to tell us to go outside to wait, as if we were in his way. It had already been 10 minutes so i didn't understand his statement. I asked my friend to leave and when he heard me he encouraged us to leave. The young waiter is extremely rude! I have always witnessed altercations with customers and blamed the customers but the waiter obviously doesn't have manners or customer service experience! Staff is so friendly and happy! Sets for a cheerful environment. Also very clean! I have had sushi here Dinning in on most occasions however due to the shelter in place movement I decided to order take out. Serving size, freshness, service was all up to par just like dining in! Their sushi was really the bomb! Pretty cool menu! Has lots of things you can choose from. We ordered Bay King and Red Dragon. They were really good, every bite was so full of flavor! We had Takoyaki and Karage too. Honestly didn't expect for one order of Karage Chicken to be this much. So that's a plus since we like eating a lot! Only thing I didn't like was the Tonkotsu Ramen. Excellent ingredients. Overworked but cheerful staff. Sports reruns. We're so glad this place arrived last year after too many of our favorite sushi places went ramen and pho. A great menu from start to finish with ingredients so fresh and delicious you find yourself moaning with delight. Two nits: There is usually only one server who is doing a good job of not looking completely frantic juggling a dozen tables. And for some reason, their TV screens are airing random sport show (no volume) and reruns of old games. Neither matter is worth losing a star over. read more

During the inside times of quarintine, my honey and I ordered via Uber Eats delivery service! This meal exceeded all expectations and we are so satisfied with our date night meal the price was right, leaving us with ample tip for our driver. The food, even sitting through delivery, was perfect. The veggie tempura still had texture, the vegetables still crunchy and very tasty (not soggy!!) Green salad was very fresh- filled with different veggies too! We both had the miso soup! I think the broth didn't have very much body, but maybe that was just our batch. Stilled loved the nori and tofu, and drank it all! Honey ordered a spicy tuna roll, and he was pleased that it was *actually* spicy!! Other notes, "Awesome". I had the bento box and every component was delightful! I do wish the California roll had cucumber in it (very ricey) but the beef teriyaki was the star. Tender, flavorful, wonderful. I live around the corner from this place so I was really excited to have sushi nearby me. I've had this place 3 or more times already and I have concluded that this place is not up to par. Cherry Blossom Roll- tuna on the outside, Tuna on the inside. So why is the tuna on the inside super dark tuna and tuna on the outside is super light pink? It's like the tuna outside is fresh, while tuna inside was old. Not consistent at all. California Roll- no flavor, not even the rice tasted like their was sushi vinegar mixed with it. It was bleh. Bento box; katsu, chicken teriyaki: I wonder, if when making the miso, they add 1 Teaspoon of miso paste per every 2 cups of water because the miso literally tasted like water. Katsu: you could completely tell it was at least a day old because it was stale and when re-heating the katsu in their kitchen it became burnt because it was already cooked before therefore adding more burnt hardened fried pork cutlet. This place is down the street from my work so we order lunch or go for dinner pretty often. Last night we went in at 8pm with a party of 4, 2 females 2 males. We went in put our name down and the guys decided to go outside and wait. Us females stayed inside in their hallway because it was cold outside. One of the servers came up to us and told us to go outside and wait, we told him we couldn't because we're cold, then again he insisted and told us to go outside and wait and said he needed that area for pick up orders. Even though there wasn't a lot of people coming in and my friend and I were moved to one side of the hallway. My friend turned and looked at me and suggested we can go somewhere else if I'd like because I'm pregnant and we didn't really wanna be outside waiting in the cold, the server heard my friends suggestion and said, yeah you can just go somewhere else. We have never felt so disrespected like that!! I told the server he was so rude for that but he didn't really seem to care. I was upset so I didn't even ask for his name but im sure the owner wouldn't appreciate a server treating customers like that. They were clearly understaffed and trying their best but seemed to be prioritizing the takeout orders over in person customers. Our order was messed up several times. I have a severe intolerance to avocado, and they brought out the first few rolls with avocado after emphasizing that I couldn't have it. We sent it back and received the correct order, they had clearly thrown it together as fast as they could the second time. The fish temperatures were a little off due to the rush. The last roll came out later, I took a few bites and realized it also had avocado. This is after they had just remade the other rolls! We sent it back and I was sick for hours. My rating is not on the food but on the unethical practice of this restaurant. Sake Bomb El Camino Real Restaurant unethically changed my receipt and added $14 tips to my call-in/pickup orders. It happened few times before. I let it go, knowing that waiters and waitresses depend on tips as part of their earnings. But this time I wanted to write and let others be aware. I give tips based on service. But I also believe that call-in/pickup orders do not deserve a tip. There is no service provided by the waiters and waitresses at the table. I place the orders online, the chef cooks the food, then I pick it up. When I signed the receipt for this pickup, I intentionally crossed out the tips section. If the restaurant were to add just few dollars, I would have let it go, but they altered my receipts and added $14 on a $60 takeout order. read more

The 2 course bento with mackeral and shrimp tempura was delicious. However what was disappointing is my bento came out 15 minutes after my friend had finished his meal. To keep me company my friend ordered endamame while I started my meal. The endamame was not even salted. How a restaurant forgets to add salt to a common appetizer is beyond me. None of the servers knew they had forgotten my meal until _I_told_them_. I didn't receive an apology. Never coming back. ! Been here several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. However this last experience has left me turned off from ever going back. On Friday night we arrived around 8:20 and was sat promptly. Two minutes later another party of two comes in and gets turned away stating they will be closing soon. That should have been my first sign. We ordered, received our food in a timely matter. Around 8:45 our waiter comes to us and tells us they have turned off their credit card machine for the night. Please pay cash or zelle the owner. The table next to us was told the same. They stepped outside to complete the transfer since there was no wifi inside. I complete the transfer from the table. Ordered a box to go and I was on my way. When getting to my car I realized I left my purse hanging from my chair. Walked back, when entering the restaurant my waiter informed me my payment has not been received. I told her perhaps her wifi was slow. I told her I'll show you my transfer let me grab my phone from my car. She then tells me ok I'll follow you to your car. I responded by saying no need I'll be right back. I went back I confirmed the phone number with her and showed her the transfer. I then once again said perhaps your wifi is slow and left. No sure if it's a constant practice of theirs or perhaps in order to receive cash from customers to avoid credit card charges. Either way I don't like their business practice and will have no problem looking for another sushi place with better customer service. read more

Not a great experience to dine her since the waitress didn't bring any food until i told someone that I've been sitting here for 20 minutes and other customers who came after me got food on the table. The waitress wasn't even apologetic and said to me that "we are busy". Not a good excuse to tell a customer and I would just accept a simple "I'm sorry". Anyway, I value good service and good food. This is not the only good sushi place in town and I would think twice to come back cause the service left a bad taste in my mouth. I've had Sake tempura roll, sushi set 3, 2 dinner bento-spicy pork, bulgogi, OMG roll, appetizer sampler, and 2 dinner bento-ton kasu, chicken teriyaki, and I'm genuinely happy with everything I had. Kitchen itmes were all very delicous. The only thing I didn't like was the katsu sauce that came with ton katsu. It just tasted weird. Not something I'm used to. Everything in the appetizer sampler, including sauces, were delicious. Miso soup was good, and the salad was okay. The sauce was a bit blend. I think it would taste better if the sauce has more flavor. OMG roll was really good. The fried roll and the fish on top were well balanced! I had to get it twice because I liked it so much. I would say nigiri sushi was not outstanding but pretty good. Some of the sushi tasted a bit fishy, but the fish were pretty big and the rice tasted good too. We have been here 2x. And the last time we went the service was horrible. My family and I went on a Friday night. We were seated right away. The waiter didn't even greet us or anything. But when I was watching her she greeted other guests as they were seated. Which I thought was kinda rude. I asked her for miso soup with extra tofu and a side of rice for my little one. If I could give zero stars I would. I came in today around 1:45 to grab a roll and a glass of wine. The young man who seated me was very kind and pleasant but it was obvious the chefs did not want to serve me. I ordered the flaming dragon roll (which is to be served table side and lit on fire). The chef made the roll and sent it to my table not wrapped in foil. The server told me he already put fire to it. I sent it back and asked him to set it on fire table side as the heat from the outside makes the roll. I could hear the chef complaining loudly while he prepped the roll the way it should have been in the first place. When I bit into the roll it tasted nothing like it usually does, there was no crab meat in it and it was cold. Next time if the chefs are going on break and do not want to serve customers then they should say they are closed. I've been on a sushi binge lately and was able to find this gem near my work! Lunch at 1230pm and this place had reasonable patrons dining. I ordered a bento box with agadashi tofu and salmon as well as a roll. Service was FAST and efficient and I was able to enjoy my food in a timely manner and still get back to work on time which is surprising cause I eat slow!! Lol! The lady who helped me was sweet and keen on cues, knowing exactly when to approach me and so on. They were able to get me my check as well as a to go box in less than 2 minutes after I asked, typically I will ask for it in the middle of the meal as some establishments kinda lag on it but they were quick! Even after asking for the check they were still attentive and kind to me. A lot less busy from the regular sushi spots closer to my work but I much prefer driving a little more to find peace and quiet and faster service. Will continue to come back! read more

I've actually never dined here before so this is my first time. I'm always looking for the best sushi spots. For years, I was always at cha cha then discovered my favorite sushi joints called Sen Dai sushi which is my favorite here in the bay. Servers do not make eye contact when busy. It was a busy weekend evening and they were understaffed with 2 waiters. Most restaurants were understaffed at the time. But servers don't ignore patrons for 20 min straight. Takeout orders were prioritized over dine-in customers. When we got up to leave, no attempt was made to address the situation. The waiter that brushed by us continued to avoid eye contact. There were parties waiting as we're leaving so I guess profit was maintained. I really love their Yim Yam veggie sushi, I always order the same thing every time I go, but today as I was eating my second to last roll I saw a small black "string" on a grain of rice. A great sushi place in Sunnyvale with tons of options on the menu! When me and my friend got there around 7pm on Sunday, it was empty but within the hour it was almost full. The menu has a wide variety of sushi options, but I settled on the Incredible Roll. We also both got the large sake + Sapporo option for $12.50, which ended up being a steal! You definitely could split up one of those. The roll itself was pretty filling and flavorful too. The fish was fresh and everything tasted amazing. Once we were seated, we were treated with absolute neglect by the two young male servers. No water, no one takes our order even after 3 verbal requests, even without an acknowledgement or apology. I have avoided getting sushi during the pandemic but I was in the neighborhood and had heard good things about this place from a friend so I figured I would try it. I ordered online and it was a 43 minute wait and due to the current stay at home order, only one person is allowed inside at a time. When I tell you I would wait another hour to have this sushi I mean it. The rolls there were creative and delicious. They have such a long list of classic and innovative rolls and I can't wait to try more. I got the jalapeño bomb roll and it was flavorful and spicy and truly one of the best rolls I have had in a long time. I should say though even after eating just one roll I was so full so keep that in mind while ordering. This is my new go-to sushi spot! Well not as often as I'd like since I live far from Sunnyvale. I was grocery shopping across the street at The K Market and was craving for some sushi so we yelped it and found this place was so close with good ratings, so we decided to give it a try and ordered the incredible roll, jumbo spider, and Lion King. LET ME TELL YA. It was so damn good. I was extremely surprised because I wasn't expecting much. Love those moments. Every ingredient was portioned perfectly. Not too much rice which I prefer. The sauce they use for the Lion King is nothing like I've ever had before. It's creamy and sweet but it goes so well with the salmon. Everything was just to die for and so so tasty. If you decide to try this place out, order the Lion King. If you like a spicy rolls, order the incredible roll. These two are a MUST! Can't wait to try out their sashimi and nigiri next time!
