Service is wonderful here. Food is pretty decent. The rolls are delicious. Can skip the gyoza as it's not that flavorful. Chicken katsu is nice and crispy. Beef teriyaki is tough and chewy.

Decided to try it out per some local recommendations, the fish portions are enormous, too much at some points. I like my nigiri tapered out at the bottom which made it not as fun to eat but still good! The rolls were flavorful but we didn't care much for the Crazy Atomic (medley of salmon mixed with some other rolls but the other combos were nice. Best thing -- sake maki (wish they had negihama too), worst was the Crazy Atomic.

We came here one evening at the advice of one of our friends. What a great recommendation. The food here is fresh and the rolls are inventive. The team there is friendly and very attentive. Pricing is very reasonable given the portion size. We will be back!

The sushi was good! I like the speciality rolls. The fried roll was very crumbly and hard to eat. The flavor also not my favorite. Service was good and ambiance was good. The food came out fast but there was nothing crazy! Would go again :)

Wanted some sushi tonight relatively close to home and decided to try Katana about 15 minutes after they opened for dinner service. They get a fair amount of take-out business besides sit down customers. The good: The wait staff are friendly and attentive. The sushi is freshly prepared with nice presentation. The gyoza are deep fried, not pan fried, but are still nice as I couldn't tell they were vegetarian. The not-so-good: The ingredients were stale and lacked the authentic flavors and textures I was hoping to enjoy. I ordered the Dragon Roll and Futomaki. The tempura shrimp used in the Dragon Roll had sat around for some time and was not crisp by the time is was used in this dish. The sushi rice lacked punch and brightness that I've tasted before when it is seasoned with rice vinegar. The spinach and carrot are two of the main veggies in Futomaki, and they also lacked any flavor. The do not use shiitake mushrooms, or kanpyo gourd in this roll which I've had before. I ended up dipping the Futomaki in the unagi sauce from the Dragon Roll to give it some flavor. Guess, I'm spoiled from places I've tried in the past and will have to expand my search for a Japanese Sushi restaurant that offers a bit more authentic preparation.

The First roll (tin foil) Tokyo second tropical crunch, third sakura, fourth First Date.

This was some of the best sushi I have ever had! And the rolls were HUGE, they definitely put thought and effort into your rolls, Sakura and First Date were my top two favorites I just got no unagi sauce on them. My friend loved the Tokyo and tropical crunch especially the tropical crunch they're pretty good I think I just simply don't like unagi on my sushi.

Came here on Valentine's Day because my boyfriend and I always wondered about this place. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. After being seated, we had to wait for a fairly long time for the employee to take our order. Got 3 rolls, tempura, miso soup, and sashimi appetitzer. First red flag was when my boyfriend asked for new plates, the employee said there was already ones on the table. We didn't know if they were new. When she seated us the table was literally still wet and she had to wipe it dry and add the chopsticks and napkins. He asked again politely for new plates and she insisted they were new. Second red flag was one of the employees took the soy sauce from our table, did not even ask if we were finished, which we were not. We literally got our food 10 minutes earlier and it was just 8:20pm. I guess they wanted to be done at 9pm, lol. Third red flag is the 20 percent servive charge, which server later said was tip. Like what? That is fine normally, but the service was TRASH! Sushi rolls are medicore. Sashimi was good quality, but way more expensive than other sushi spots. Will never return.

This is like a poke bowl. Don't remember the name.

Went for lunch with friends. I got a bento box with teriyaki chicken & mixed tempura veggies. Good size portions and I was able to save have for another lunch. My friends got sushi. The said the seaweed was a bit tough. I don't eat sushi, so I'll take their word for it! I'd be willing to come again for my meal.

BIL picked this spot to celebrate his birthday. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. Friendly service. Sushi is decent. Udon was salty. Spicy tuna was ok.

3.5 stars. I came here on a weeknight. There was plenty of parking available. Good sized restaurant. Nicely decorated. The service was so friendly and nice. The place was fairly empty. My friend recommended the bento box. So, I got the 3 item bento dinner. It is a bit pricey . The soup and salad came out first. Standard fare on both the soup and salad. The dressing was good. Combination Tempura - crispy and crunchy. California Roll - decent roll, good crab mixture. Chicken Teriyaki - it's dark meat, and it was fairly good. Teriyaki sauce was good.

This place is super close to me and I always drive past it, and I've been on the hunt for a good Japanese restaurant in the area, so we decided to stop by. Frankly I thought it was a bit disappointing, not terrible but not great by any means. The staff was friendly and it wasn't too busy despite being a Friday night. We got the Chicken Donburi, Tonkatsu Donburi, rainbow roll, and crunch roll, just to be able to try a bunch of different options. I love Donburi and it's a go-to for me at many Japanese restaurants, so I was eager to try Katana's. Frankly I thought it lacked much flavor. The chicken just didn't taste like much unfortunately. On the flip side, the Tonkatsu was incredibly salty, so it was a bit overwhelming and neither was seasoned properly in my opinion. The rolls were fairly average to me, again not bad but not great. Overall, you get a decent amount of food but in my opinion it's also a bit expensive for the quality of the food. I was overall disappointed with this dining experience.

Are there any gluten free options? A simple roll or rolls made with gluten-free soy sauce maybe? Will come much more often if this is available.

Based on how well I know the menu, i'd say no. Small alterations to the menu when ordering, also isn't always followed through. If you have a gluten allergy, i'd be wary.

I believe it is closed? Application for new ownership!

The restaurant did change hands some time ago. I've only eaten there once since the change and at that time - maybe a year ago - the menu was the same and the quality was still good. More recent reviews have been poor though.

My favorite poke was the spicy mango tuna--so flavorful. They even include a mini bottle of soy sauce, which was such a cute touch. There are plenty of sides to choose from, and you get a really good amount of rice. The sushi boat is definitely on the pricier side, and I was a bit skeptical at first because of the packaging. I wasn't sure if the quality would live up to the presentation, but it absolutely did. The packaging is not only fun but also super functional--perfect for taking to the beach, a park, or a party.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and it was one of those meals where everyone at the table found something they loved. One dish I was surprisingly impressed by was the Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver in ponzu). I'll admit, the word liver immediately made me hesitant, and if they hadn't told me what it was, I probably would've been less nervous trying it. But I'm really glad I did because it was incredibly buttery, smooth, and rich. It almost melts in your mouth, and I honestly think it would pair perfectly with a bowl of steamed rice. We also ordered the Hiyayakko (cold tofu with ginger & scallions), which was a really refreshing starter. The tofu was silky smooth and delicate, and the ginger, scallions, and soy-based seasoning added just enough flavor without taking away from the freshness of the tofu. It was simple, but really well done. We also ordered the Salmon Mayo Yaki Onigiri. While it was good, I think this is the one dish I'd probably skip next time. The crispy grilled rice ball itself was delicious, but there just wasn't enough salmon mayo on top. It felt like I only got a tiny spoonful, so once that was gone, it was mostly just rice. Since my family couldn't decide, we ended up ordering all three clay pots: the Sake Oyako Meshi (grilled salmon & salmon roe), Unagi Meshi (BBQ freshwater eel), and Tori Soboro Meshi (braised ground chicken). Out of all of them, the Unagi Meshi was easily my favorite. The eel was tender, slightly smoky, and coated in a sweet-savory glaze that soaked into the rice underneath, making every bite incredibly satisfying. The clay pots also gave the rice a nice crispy layer on the bottom, which added even more texture. We also shared two of their signature pizzas: the Mentai Kinoko and the Nasu Curry. I wasn't expecting much since it's pizza at a Japanese restaurant, but they were honestly so good. The crust was paper-thin, crispy, and light, so it didn't leave you feeling heavy afterward. The Mentai Kinoko had a great balance of spicy cod roe, snow crab, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese, while the Nasu Curry had a rich curry flavor that paired surprisingly well with the eggplant and cheese. Both were huge hits with my family. The restaurant itself has a warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere that makes it feel cozy and inviting. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes when we couldn't decide what to order. Their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. My whole family left happy, and it's one of those restaurants where I already know I'll be coming back to try even more of the menu.

Unagi claypot 4/5 it was delicious, but I wish they included a little more Unagi. The rice on the bottom was crispy and all the flavors were well blended. Green tea creme brulee 5/5 well balanced flavors, maybe could use a little more green tea flavor, the vanilla over powered it. But it was still very delicious. Service: 90 minutes of dining time, the menu is large so it took time to decide what to order and they don't have paper menus anymore which is a little hard to review the small font on the phone. I think they should go back to providing at least 1-2 real menus per table. It was very warm in the restaurant even though they said the AC was on. The food came out relatively fast, but there were some pauses between dishes. The claypot rice took the longest and I was almost full by the time it arrived. Ambiance: casual restaurant, authentic Japanese style where you have to remove your shoes and sit on mats. The restaurant filled up quickly by 7pm. We had a reservation for 6:15pm.

Of course they have your standard offerings, but then they have a lot of other different takes on Ramen that seemed pretty good. Of course, my wife had to go and try the most eye catching one: the Saturn, with it's crag of fried softshell crab on top! I wasn't really feeling soup and elected to try the Gemini (exes be damned!). I didn't try my wife's just because I can't handle spice unfortunately, for the gym and I was really good! Really hit the spot, and not too much. A lot of places to go to the 10 to overdo it on servings and always end up leaving a lot behind. This was just enough for me for one night. Noodles were very chewy and I love the texture! I don't think I've tried that before. Also, the noodles were hot instead of cold like so often in tends to be. Wagyu was cooked and seasoned nicely, a hood shade of pink, any crispy toppings, added both the flavor and the texture. All in all, I loved it and was very pleasantly surprised! Looking forward to coming back to try some other dishes! PS: Pisces, Capricorn, and a few others are out of this menu.
