    Jangpan Jajang

The pork jjajamyeon sauce was so good and they are very generous with it. The noodles come in a separate bowl so you can spoon as much or as little sauce you want onto it. The jangpan jajang was gigantic and came with a lot of squid legs if you like that (which I do). We also ordered the Yu Rin Gi (chicken) which came out crispy and delicious. I would definitely recommend for the noodles alone. The restaurant is decently mid-size/big and can handle large groups but I would definitely call ahead if you have a larger group. The Friday we went they happened to have half the restaurant reserved for a corporate event (which turned out to be 2 large tour groups) and about another 1/3 reserved for a larger group reservation. There were only effectively 12 seats left and luckily we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. The servers were very apologetic and attentive despite the number of people they had to attend to. We also luckily all found parking in the back lot behind the restaurant, but I could see that being crowded/hard to find parking if they didn't have most of the restaurant coming from one big tour bus.

Saw this place on social media and knew I needed to add this to my list. What was Ordered: - Jjajangmyeon (Korean Black Bean Noodles): - Jjampong ($16): for the amount of noodles, soup, and seafood, this didn't miss! I'm a jjampong girlie so I really appreciated that my soup came out (and stayed) hot. - Forgot the name of this but I ordered a saucey fried chicken; honestly didn't intend to order this (I wanted the spicy garlic ones), but these ended up being soooooooooo addicting. I was inhaling the sauce like CRAZY. Tong Soon has great portions - would recommend checking it out!

This place has been one of our go-to authentic Chinese-Korean restaurants for over a decade. They have a big menu of Chinese-Korean dishes, so be sure to come often to try everything. The dishes I usually order are: tangsuyuk (탕수육), jjamppong (짬뽕), and jjajangmyeon (짜장면). All so good, one of the better ones in this area. Service is wonderful; they speak Korean, Mandarin, and English. There's plenty of parking in the back.

Tong Soon Garden restaurant is one of those korean owned Chinese restaurants where they serve authentic chinese dishes but with a korean twist to it Overall great restaurant and if u make a reservation in advanced for a party of 6 or more u might be able to get the room Vast menu and great dishes overall Their jajangmyeon was flavorful and tang soo yuk was pretty good Their chicken wings is what theyre known for so that is pretty good Parking is in the back with a very tight lot kinda sketch but it is what it is

This is a place my family has frequented since my childhood! Love it for that reason, but objectively speaking, it feels more like a home-y food place (like visiting your favorite aunt's house for a comfort meal), not an elegant, classy, date spot. However, this place has a solid menu selection, food quality, and service. Parking is in the back and has always been easy for me. There's also street parking on El Camino.

Food: this Korean Chinese restaurant has the best tangsuyuk and jajang mien! All other dishes are great, absolutely recommend eggplant with garlic sauce and walnut prawns. I'd definitely want to come back and try the jjamppong spicy seafood noodle Service: they are welcoming and helpful. They serve very fast and nice as well! Ambiance: family style recommended. Come with a group of people so you can try multiple nice dishes here all at once!

I came to Tong Soon Garden with my friends after hearing good things about its Jajang Mein and Fried Chicken. I came to a completely empty restaurant and we were seated immediately. The servers welcomed us and the place is very traditional with large wooden tables and open space. We asked for recommendations, which our waiter helped explain each of the dishes. We placed our order and the dishes came out quickly one-by-one. I really liked the Jajang Mein and Kan Pung Gi. The Jajang Mein was so flavorful with the thick black bean sauce and bouncy noodles. The Kan Pung Gi was crispy and the sauce was sweet and tangy. We also got the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, which was good but very heavy from the sauce. The Jjampong was also good and had a softer soup. The sweet and sour pork was a little off putting by the color, but the taste was actually quite sweet. We had a good time enjoying all the dishes, and our server gave us pear slush drinks and fortune cookies at the end! For all this food, it was decently affordable. Although there were a lot of fried dishes, I still enjoyed it.

Good fusion Chinese-Korean cuisine. We ordered the jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, eggplant with garlic sauce, and mapo tofu. The jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk were excellent with authentic flavors, and the eggplant was a highlight for me. The mapo tofu was a little odd as it was sweet and spicy at the same time (I guess true fusion cuisine here). Service was about average.

** Review for takeout ** This review is for takeout only. We ordered the string beans, salt &pepper fish, tangsuyuk, kangpungi wings, and jajang myun. The jajang myun, Tangsuyuk, string beans were delicious and a classic menu item. The salt & pepper fish was a bit on the bland side, but the fish itself was very tender. The Kangpungi wings are not clear on delivery apps, so I called to have this picked up. Note- there is also House Wings that are a soy garlic based wings that are not available on delivery apps and have to call the restaurant directly for it. I was told that the menu is too extensive and the restaurant could not put all the available items online. It was good, but in my opinion it was too soggy.

One of the most popular K-food restaurants in the Bay Area, and their food is always a 10/10!…read more I've come back here so many times because all of their soups are so comforting, especially the galbitang - my absolute favorite. It feels just like a warm hug in a bowl! Their cold noodles, both spicy and non-spicy versions, are refreshing and perfect for cooling down summer heat. We also almost always order the mo deum soo yook for extra protein. It's a combination plate with boiled beef brisket, tail, and tendons. You will have to season them yourself with salt and pepper, but beef is always so soft and tender. I highly recommend ordering this only if you're dining with a group of 3 or more because the portion is huge! After finishing your meal, they'll serve you a yakult, super yummy and great for digestion (super thoughtful of them) They're busy and almost always have a waitlist, especially during peak dinner hours. From my experience, the longest I've waited was about 45 minutes, but normally it's only around 20-30 minutes. There's a boba shop nearby where you can grab a drink while waiting. Overall, I have nothing to complain about with this place. Try it once and you'll understand why everyone loves it!

I am really surprised at the portion we received being way smaller compared to what i typically get when i doordash or order for take-out... and i order take-out from here every week or two! my friend got hounded for a tip in the parking lot after paying which was really off putting. at first they said they couldnt read what he wrote. then, when he clarified- she took about 5 minutes begging for a tip in the hot sun... the thing is- he didn't want to tip as we didn't receive any service at all. all they did was just take our order and give us our food. no check-ins during our meal. they took away our water before they even took our card to pay.... it all felt super rushed near the end. out of all the times I've had take-out from here, this dine-in experience missed the mark for us. debating on if it is worth it to come back. very disappointing as this was my friend's first time trying this place and he drove all the way from east bay!

Service was good. food was delicious! the bulgogi was generous portions given the $$. The kal bi was delicious. We got the lettuce wrap (aka leaves) glad we got it because it made it feel healthier. banchan: came with: square little rice paper wraps (not as healthy as lettuce but something), kim chee, sprouts, marinated onions with peppers (spicy! but I'm a wimp, any spice is too much for me), jap chae I didn't like the self-order on tablet. (at least it wasn't order off phone, I really hate that) at other restaurants if you order enough, they "service you" free steamed egg. Here I had to buy it myself. negative, there was a dripping pipe on the floor, and we had to point it out for them to wipe it, but then it dripped more. was that water? or grease? who knows. we had to suggest they put a towel so I didn't have to stare at it creeping towards me all night. fun korean pop music in background. cheaper feeling ambiance. definitely coming again for the food and minimal line. didn't like that tip defaulted to 20% minimum (then 23%, 28%) but at least they calculate that pre-tax.

Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise. What makes this place stand out from most Korean restaurants is that you can enjoy so many classic Korean dishes in one meal--soy sauce marinated crab, fresh handmade cold noodles, stews, seafood hot pot, grilled intestines, stone pot bibimbap, and more--without having to visit multiple restaurants. Here are a few signature dishes we tried based on our server's recommendations: Bibim Naengmyeon (Handmade Spicy Cold Noodles) These noodles took a little longer to come out, and our server explained why--they don't start making the noodles until you place your order. The dough is pressed fresh in the kitchen before being served, giving the noodles a wonderfully chewy texture. Served with crushed ice, beef, cucumber, egg, and Korean pear, it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. It's actually pretty rare to find restaurants in the Bay Area still making cold noodles fresh to order. Soy Sauce Marinated Crab I'd always heard that Korean soy sauce marinated crab is one of the country's most beloved seafood dishes and had seen it countless times in K-dramas, so I was excited to finally try it. The crab was well-marinated, with sweet, tender meat that was full of flavor, and even included quail eggs. If you love seafood, this is definitely worth ordering. Stone Bowl Bibimbap The stone bowl arrived still sizzling at the table. Mixed with beef, spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, fernbrake, and a sunny-side-up egg, every bite was delicious. My favorite part was the crispy golden rice that slowly formed at the bottom of the bowl. Gal Nak (Spicy Braised Beef Short Ribs with Octopus) (Mild Spice) This was perfect for sharing. The pot was filled with tender braised beef short ribs, octopus, tofu, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, and vegetables. As everything simmered together, the rich broth soaked into every ingredient, making each bite even more flavorful. Every table receives a generous selection of Korean side dishes, including kimchi, japchae, fish cake, cucumber, pickled radish, seaweed, and more. Our server even came by to ask if we wanted free refills before we had to ask, which made the whole dining experience feel very welcoming. Besides the food, I also loved the atmosphere. Right at the entrance is a row of traditional Korean fermentation jars, and the restaurant is decorated with Korean-style ornaments throughout the space. The owner also stopped by to chat with guests and mentioned that he personally shops for fresh ingredients every morning to keep the food consistent in quality. The restaurant is conveniently located next to a Korean supermarket and has its own parking lot with plenty of parking spaces.

The meat was tender and overall very tasty. The LA Galbi came out as large slices of BBQ short ribs and were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The cold noodle combo came with cold noodles in broth plus bulgogi. You can pick other protein but that's what we chose. The cold noodles were refreshing and the noodles were chewy and bouncy. The portions were fairly large. The bulgogi was probably the most disappointing of all the dishes we had. It was tender beef but lacked some bbq flavor. I appreciated the wide variety of Banchans that were brought out to our table. They also gladly refilled the banchans as needed.
