    Chirashi
    Sonia W.

Came to this place many years ago once and this is the second time. Ordered Chirashi and it literally came within 5 minutes after I ordered that was fast!!! So, here comes the comment on this dish: I wouldn't say impressive but yet a bit awkward by looking at it. It's nothing about freshness, indeed the fish is very fresh. They did mention sashimi of chef's choice, 18 pcs on the menu. Which they DID give 18 pcs of sashimi. But that's it. I was hoping to see more variety of the sashimi but I only get 3. Tuna, salmon and yellow tail (I believe). I was paused for few seconds, trying to process what was that LOL. If you ask am I disappointed, I would definitely tell you, "Yes, I am disappointed". But can't argue with it because they didn't lie, they did give you what was written on the menu. They just didn't tell you what you would get, that's all. May or may not come back.

KOREAN OWNED JAPANESE RESTAURANT!!!! My family's go to Japanese spot in cupertino! We love the workers here and their bento boxes but my favorite is their sushi! The fish is always fresh and each roll comes w so much fish on top with sauce and it's all very yummy! Can't wait to go back!

Bento box with bulgogi and the flaming dragon roll. I might have eaten a couple of the California rolls before taking the picture hehe

Ordered the bento box with bulgogi tempura and a California roll. Also ordered a flaming dragon roll. The food came out quick and the flaming dragon roll was lit on fire. That was pretty cool. The food was alright. Nothing special. The service was hardly there. She asked for our drink order and our food order. Didn't get a refill on our water. That's one thing I base if it was a good service or not is if they refill my water without asking. The ambiance was nice. It's a small restaurant and not many tables. If you have a huge group, it wouldn't be suitable or you will be seating at different tables. They have some decorations up.

We finally visited Harumi, wait was short, you sign in once you get there. On a Sunday afternoon, the wait was about 15 minutes for us. Once I walked in, I was kind of liking it already cause the decor is cute and open with tons of fresh lighting from the outside windows. The other thing that caught my attention was the fact they were spraying and wiping down the menus which is a plus for me. Our server Mia was great, very pleasant! Food was ok, nothing to really rave about, everything is small in pieces, such as sashimi. I mean very small in size. The best was the hibachi steak and shrimp. Then the carpaccios. Overall, I would come again for the vibe. Best for 4 people, if anymore, split your tables or you'll be waiting for a long time. I do see bigger tables.

A cute little sushi restaurant! We decided to have lunch. We had a really tasty hot tea served in metal cups. We ordered Bento and it did not disappoint. The miso soup was served very hot and the tofu and miso seemed very fresh. The tempura was cooked perfectly, all the veggies were soft with crunchy tempura skins. The sashimi had good color and texture and tasted wonderful. I would definitely return.

Harumi sushi is a good one :) we had their takeout at the peak of 2020-2021 and it introduced us to this low key spot in a busy bustling plaza. When I came for the first time in person this low key and not crowded spot actually was pretty good for the food they served. This seems family owned and beloved by the locals here. Service was prompt and it was very small hole in the wall feeling. We ordered the 49ers roll, futomaki and the grilled saba plate. Was a fan of all these items, no frills basic taste but it seems they are consistent and that's important! Wondering why the mixed reviews here but my experiences have been good and consistent

This place is your average sushi joint. It's located in the same plaza as the Marukai and Daiso so there is plenty of parking. However, parking can get a little crazy during meal times. Service is usually pretty good, never had any trouble being seated and getting our orders. Nothing really makes them stand out too much, but the food is good. On this day, I ordered the crazy roll and agedashi tofu to share. My boyfriend ordered the harumi roll. This was enough for the two of us. Food was good. I would come back as it is quite close to my apartment. Update: Bumping them from 3 to 4 stars for their excellent service. My friend ordered a chicken donburi and when they brought it out, there were dried bonito flakes on it. He is allergic to seafood and when he brought it up to the staff, they were extremely accomodating. They told him what options they could replace it with and were able to get him a chicken teriyaki meal instead. That customer service is on-point.

Went here for lunch recently and found that the bento lunches were really good quality and portion size. Plenty of options to chose from if you want any other kinda of sushi, grilled plates, or bowls as well. Service was super quick and efficient and I thought that it was very thought that they didn't rush us to finish our lunch by pushing the bill on us. Instead they waited until both of us finished our food, even though we eat slow hahah. Overall the indoor and outdoor seating makes this a great spot to grab lunch for barely any wait despite the vibe of the place being in the smaller side. Overall, would love to come another time to try out more!

I came here on a Saturday around noon and we were seated right away. We ordered some gyoza and 3 rolls to share. The fish was fresh and did have any fishy taste to it. The texture was good too. The pieces were a good size to pop into your mouth without having to try and bite them in half. The roll had a good rice to fish ratio. Overall a great experience and I left feeling really satisfied.

Solid spot for Japanese food and bento. My group of 4 came for dinner around 6:30 on a Sunday after getting some groceries at Tokyo Central next door. The menu here is pretty standard for a Japanese restaurant. They have noodles and rice bowls, various teriyaki and tempura options, bento, and a lot of sushi in the form of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. I was starving, so I opted for a bento since I know those are generally pretty hearty. I got the #11 bulgogi, tempura, and California Roll bento for $19.95. Everything was pretty good and I was stuffed by the end. I only wish there was more rice, as there wasn't enough to eat with all the bulgogi. My friends were also happy with their food. Two got sushi and one person got the chicken teriyaki bento.

whatever u do, GET THE KARAAGE. I was unsure when it came out, but it was SO JUICY, beautiful flavour. idk maybe i just eat too much bad karaage but this was rly good. Sashimi was pretty filling for someone who can't eats rice Salmon roll was just ok! ( *w*)b

Service was good! The food was ok. I'll definitely try this place a second time. We ordered a few appetizers and rolls.

    Bulgogi bento set with sashimi
    Alex X.

A solid choice for sushi in the plaza. Despite the restaurant being overshadowed by newer, flashier restaurants nearby, the fish is fresh and the rolls are good. There was no wait when I went in for lunch and you get a free miso soup with your meal, which is nice. I was very impressed with the bulgogi bento set with sashimi, as the portion size was quite generous. The salmon sashimi was incredibly fresh and very thick, and the bulgogi was rich and plentiful (albeit slightly too sesame-y, both seed and oil). The double spicy salmon roll was also quite good and had a surprisingly spicy kick, which was nice to see. The softshell crab was a bit of a letdown in comparison to the rest of the dishes, as it was just your standard fried fare.

The curry broth and the plant based meat were well seasoned and the yuzu gave the dish a nice citrus kick. I love spicy food and usually feel like ramen is not spicy enough, but this was the perfect level. Noodles were tasty and there was a good noodle to soup ratio. My friend gave the Kiwami Tonkotsu a 4/5 and said it could be a bit more flavorful. She tried some of my Kiwami Vegan and said she would order that next time instead Overall, amazing vegan ramen! Being a broth lover, I can assess the authenticity of a ramen place by tonkotsu broth. And this place really does an excellent job in delivering a savory fatty bowl of tonkotsu ramen. I also added duck breast to mine. $6 for 4 pieces of duck breast is actually no bad of a deal, especially considering the quality of the duck breast slices. They were not super thick, but got enough bite in there for you to enjoy the texture of the duck meat. It was not overdone and did not lead to a less than desired rough sandy texture. Rather, it was possibly slightly undercooked. The skin was intact and the fattiness from duck skin just brought so much joy to every bite. I savored every bit of that in silence. Service was good, servers were attentive enough. Make sure to go in and put your name down on the tablet device. Do not wait outside "in a line" cuz they only call people by the tablet.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and it was one of those meals where everyone at the table found something they loved. One dish I was surprisingly impressed by was the Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver in ponzu). I'll admit, the word liver immediately made me hesitant, and if they hadn't told me what it was, I probably would've been less nervous trying it. But I'm really glad I did because it was incredibly buttery, smooth, and rich. It almost melts in your mouth, and I honestly think it would pair perfectly with a bowl of steamed rice. We also ordered the Hiyayakko (cold tofu with ginger & scallions), which was a really refreshing starter. The tofu was silky smooth and delicate, and the ginger, scallions, and soy-based seasoning added just enough flavor without taking away from the freshness of the tofu. It was simple, but really well done. We also ordered the Salmon Mayo Yaki Onigiri. While it was good, I think this is the one dish I'd probably skip next time. The crispy grilled rice ball itself was delicious, but there just wasn't enough salmon mayo on top. It felt like I only got a tiny spoonful, so once that was gone, it was mostly just rice. Since my family couldn't decide, we ended up ordering all three clay pots: the Sake Oyako Meshi (grilled salmon & salmon roe), Unagi Meshi (BBQ freshwater eel), and Tori Soboro Meshi (braised ground chicken). Out of all of them, the Unagi Meshi was easily my favorite. The eel was tender, slightly smoky, and coated in a sweet-savory glaze that soaked into the rice underneath, making every bite incredibly satisfying. The clay pots also gave the rice a nice crispy layer on the bottom, which added even more texture. We also shared two of their signature pizzas: the Mentai Kinoko and the Nasu Curry. I wasn't expecting much since it's pizza at a Japanese restaurant, but they were honestly so good. The crust was paper-thin, crispy, and light, so it didn't leave you feeling heavy afterward. The Mentai Kinoko had a great balance of spicy cod roe, snow crab, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese, while the Nasu Curry had a rich curry flavor that paired surprisingly well with the eggplant and cheese. Both were huge hits with my family. The restaurant itself has a warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere that makes it feel cozy and inviting. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes when we couldn't decide what to order. Their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. My whole family left happy, and it's one of those restaurants where I already know I'll be coming back to try even more of the menu.

Green tea creme brulee 5/5 well balanced flavors, maybe could use a little more green tea flavor, the vanilla over powered it. But it was still very delicious. Service: 90 minutes of dining time, the menu is large so it took time to decide what to order and they don't have paper menus anymore which is a little hard to review the small font on the phone. I think they should go back to providing at least 1-2 real menus per table. It was very warm in the restaurant even though they said the AC was on. The food came out relatively fast, but there were some pauses between dishes. The claypot rice took the longest and I was almost full by the time it arrived. Ambiance: casual restaurant, authentic Japanese style where you have to remove your shoes and sit on mats. The restaurant filled up quickly by 7pm. We had a reservation for 6:15pm.
