Took a chance by coming here since it was a new restaurant for us, but what a delight! It is a beautifully decorated place. The staff is very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the edamame and crab crispy wontons. The edamame could have used a little more salt/flavor, however they were the perfect texture. We shared some sushi...the sashimi tuna roll & the volcano roll...both were wonderful. I had to add in some sashimi eel and it was perfectly prepared. On June 14, 2025 I went to happy hour with friends from NY. I had recommended Saketumi because I was a regular customer for years. I recommended the tuna and salmon sushi So we orders 3 for the table. To my surprise all the sushi's came soft and mushy. It was awful! I have never experienced this before. I told the waiter about the issue and he said they always put the sushi in a blender for spicy tuna and salmon. I responded dumbfounded. I told him I never had it served to me this way. He said that's how they always do it then promptly walked away. My visitor insisted on just paying the bill and we all left. I was so embarrassed- I simply left without making a scene. I know I should have spoken to a manager right away but honored my friend's wishes to just leave it all and pay without complaining. A group of six were there for lunch on New Years Day January 1, 2026. After the meal I walked back to the Ladies Room and had to walk between a group of three servers, standing in a circle-this was at 3pm. There was quite a bit of clutter, seemingly clean up from the evening before. I slipped on the very wet floor and fell, hit and cut my head, bent my glasses. Not one employee said, "Watch the floor, its wet" or even "are you ok", they scattered. When I came out of the Ladies room I asked to speak to the manager. When I told her what happened, she did not ask me if I was ok or say she was sorry that happened, she said "Did you see the sign" I said, I saw the three employees standing around and their lack of caring or empathy. She then said, "What would you like me to do" I was dumbfounded What I would like you to do is be a stand up human being, a caring advocate a concerned person who hires and retains caring human beings. I told her to watch the video footage(which I imagine is long erased). She did not ask for my name or contact information, did not have me fill out an incident report. Came here with my family and to be honest I wasn't expecting much but the food here was quite good! Typically I don't trust Asian restaurants who serve a variety of different Asian cuisines, as I find that it's hard to do more than one cuisine well but I was quite impressed. We got a Thai coconut curry, a variety of sushi, basil chicken stir fry and various appetizers. My favorite was probably the curry! Came in with some friends who went in ahead of me and right off the bat, I noticed the manager (male asian) was glaring and seemed unhappy and mad. Brought us to our table and dumped the chopsticks and we were just baffled by the rudeness. We asked if we can move to a different table as it was high with stools and one of our companions was physically unable to get up on the high stool. The manager got even more upset and raised his voice that we should've asked for a 'table'! We confronted him and asked him why he was acting in that manner when we just asked a simple question in a very courteous manner?? Told him I've been going there for 20 years or whenever they opened up and have always had a positive experience and he just huffed and said 'yeah right!!'. We all just left at this point. The negatives were few but memorable for me. They do not allow substitutions at all which would have totally enhanced my meal. Also, no more than 4 separate checks. We were a party of 7. They have a traditional Japanese venue and a very diversified Japanese and Chinese menu with American dishes as well. We ordered the standard edamame and coconut chicken, which were both quite good. The shrimp dumplings we ordered were superb. In addition we ordered the Woke salt and pepper shrimp, which was excellent. We also ordered General TSO chicken which was beyond good. We would return and try some of the traditional sushi dishes because we both love sushi and the sushi bar is right upfront one can sit at the counter and order dishes as you choose. Looking at this place from the exterior and their website, it looked like a good place to eat. Very misleading and so disappointing. I made a reservation but it wasn't needed. The place was pretty empty. We were greeted immediately by the server upon being seated. They have a rather decent menu. We started with some appetizers, the Saketumi Appetizer Platter which consist of coconut shrimp, chicken satay, spring roll, shrimp & pork shumai, and crab Rangoon. I told the server I was allergic to mushrooms immediately upon ordering. The description for the vegetable spring roll was shredded cabbage, carrot and glass noodle. I asked if the spring roll was the same as in the platter and she said yes. The order comes and my guest takes the spring roll and their is mushroom in it. Well thank goodness she took that first and not me as it could have killed me. They were very greasy as well. The shumai wasn't good at all. Small shrimps mushed in with the pork just didn't work. The chicken satay was extremely dry. The coconut shrimp was good and the crab Rangoon was ok but very small and not much crab in it at all. I also ordered the addicting cucumber salad and sweet potato tempura roll. There was nothing addicting about the cucumber salad and the sweet potato tempura roll was very good but more tempura than sweet potato. Decent portion size for the price too. My entree was the hibachi sirloin steak which comes with a bunch of vegetables (I requested no mushrooms) miso soup and salad. The miso soup was very salty and had tofu in it. I never received my salad. The sirloin steak was not good at all. It did come out without mushrooms but the steak was grizzly, fatty and so tough I couldn't eat it. Small portion too for the price. It tasted horrible! No sirloin I ever had tasted like this. I had to send it back and it was removed from the check. It left a bad taste in my mouth so I did not order anything else. Before my guest was done with half of her meal, the server brought the check to the table. No offer of anything else or if we would like dessert just the check. This I found to be very rude. With all that being said, no, I won't return and no, I don't recommend anyone to go. read more

Excellent sushi and wonderful staff. My only suggestion is to change out the stained ceiling tiles, change out the rusted vent covers and dim the lights a little to give it more of a vibe. My husband remarked that the udon noodles were perfectly done - too often restaurants tend to overcook their noodles. The chicken was tender and the whole dish was very flavorful. My pad Thai was insanely good. I've had this dish innumerable times at various places throughout the US and I'm not exaggerating to say it was the best. Tangy, spicy, chewy noodles, crispy tofu and fresh bean sprouts. Totally swoon-worthy. The asparagus was young, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I only wish we lived closer to this fabulous restaurant. Visited for the first time on Christmas Eve. I've driven by many times but the building exterior is not inviting - looks like an old office building. However, the interior is much more welcoming and I can't say enough about the customer service! Serving staff was engaging, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to have you try their food. We started with dim sum sampler and vegetable egg rolls followed by entrees of salt and pepper shrimp and scallops, chicken lo mein, and Kar-bi (Korean marinated short ribs). My daughter had to pick onions out of the lo mein as they were plentiful and slightly overwhelmed the dish but she still finished her plate. The short ribs were slightly spicy and nicely tender but could have used some kimchi or other accompaniment (rice came on the side). Shrimp and scallops looked rather plain but husband loved them. So many other choices on the menu to try, including some fabulous looking sushi that other tables were ordering. We will be back! read more
