Nice hidden gem!!! I entered a well decorated clean establishment and was greeted and seated at entrance. My intentions when reviewing this place beforehand online was the cheese steak but I went for the rueben. So glad I did it was excellcent, piping hot layers of meat with a mustard sauce. This place is a little bit of a drive from downtown Raleigh, but if your a fan of really good Philly Cheesesteaks then you'll want to make a pilgrimage out to Saks. The bread is brought in from Philly all Angus beef and real american cheese with hot and green peppers it all melts in your mouth. Look for their new food truck rolling out soon. I often forget this place exists, probably because it's tucked back in a small strip mall. The food is delicious. I always get the chicken salad sandwich and love it every time. The staff is always friendly. I have to start going here more! It's definitely a "hidden gem." read more

Definitely worth a visit. My husband and I enjoy their Italian subs. On our first visit we tried their steak and cheese, we loved it so much we tried tomorrow order it again. Unfortunately, the second time was not as good. Not sure if the meat was different or something. Since we enjoyed our first visit so much we still went back and that is when we tried the Italian subs. We look forward to trying other items on the menu and will have to give the steak and cheese one more try. read more

I love going to Sak's. They have the best Philly cheese steak and French dip sandwiches. Often times, there is a special. Taco Tuesday's are always good and I have friends who have about Fry-days. The staff is always attentive and nice. If you are looking for a great sandwich, this is definitely a place you should try. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here previously and it was nice, so we decided to eat here again. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I started eating it and I kept finding these really hard bits in the meat. I asked the waiter about it and she said there shouldn't be any bones in the meat. Moments later the waiter comes out with a free chocolate cake to make up for the boney Philly cheesesteak. Which was very nice of her. Despite the bones, I decided to keep eating my sandwich and the unthinkable happened... After taking a bite, a hair emerged from the steak and cheese. I was over it. I spit it out and we left shortly after. The women stopped my boyfriend as we were leaving and let us eat for free. Which was very nice of her, but needless to say, we will never eat here again. read more

Excited for a new local place to eat. This was our first experience at the deli. Our service was a bit slower than we would like with hungry kids and our portions were smaller than expected. The food was okay, we found our food to be salter than we like. We are hoping it is just new business jitters. We really want some new places to eat in the Clayton area. Staff is great. Atmosphere is awesome. The subs are awesome. The cheesesteak was friggen amazing. It actually tastes like real steak, extremely tender. I've always loved jerseys Mike's for the quality but this place I'd say is a good step above. Theres a lot more of an authentic feel, taste, and texture with the ingredients. The bread is tasty. It's got an ever so slightly toasted outside but extremely soft, moist, and fluffy center. The price is above average but well worth it. It's not subway prices, but comparing it to them would be a heavy insult. I think I found my new goto spot for subs. read more

As several reviews have pointed out already, this place is way too expensive for the fare. I'm originally from Philly and can tell a phony cheesesteak a mile away. The cheesesteaks at Saks (ordered beef and chicken steaks to sample both) we're okay. The grill needs to be cleaned more often as there was a slightly burned taste. In most well known Philly joints you get nearly twice the meat at a cheaper price than what Saks charges. No plans on returning until either prices are in line with portions or portions increase at current prices. read more

This place is our "go to" sandwich joint! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. My favorite is the Philly and my husband loves the Italian. Both have plenty of good quality meat and the bread (which the owner imports from Philly) is absolutely perfect. Also the seasoned fries are amazing either with a sandwich or not! There was one time (out of the dozens of times we have been!) I felt my Philly was light on the meat... so the next time I went I told him about it and asked him to "load it up!" which he did. I've asked them to load it up every time since then and have been happy with every single sandwich! Great sandwiches, great specials, and great service! Doesn't get much better. read more

We've eaten here on 3 separate occasions. My wife loves the cheese steak. The bread is brought in from Philly and it is always made fresh to her specifications. I am partial to the #2 with the prosciutto. They are quick to make your sandwiches, and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for? Really good sandwiches. I'm glad we stopped in and tried them out. The folks working were very friendly and eager to help. I had the cheesesteak sandwich wrap and the husband had the pizza steak sandwich. Both were really good. The pizza steak sandwich was pretty much gone in about 3 minutes. Always a good sign. For mine, the steak was flavorful and NOT chewy, the lettuce and tomatoes were nice and fresh. The iced tea was good and there was the option for kettle chips that leant a nice special touch, out of the ordinary. Will definitely be back. read more

If you are looking for a taste of the North, this definitely fits the bill. I've had the Roast Beef and Swiss Triple Decker Club (amazing) and the corned beef Reuben (very good). I recommend this Deli highly. The fries are very good also. Had a little wait for the food, but it was worth it. Shame its tucked back in a strip mall off the road. I did not even know it was there for quite awhile and I'm only a couple miles from it. I guess the word will get out now.... Ugggh. Enjoy! read more

Food was fresh and delicious. Loved the side salad which comes with onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Pasta salad is simple and tasty. I got some to go!
