Teriyaki steak? Squishy tasteless meat that has been boiled and then fried and then covered in spices. Gross.
    April Crook Sultzer C.

How did you cook the steak? Did you soak it, boil it and then fry it? Mine was soggy and squishy and the spices on it overwhelmed the spicy and squishy meat. Yuck. Just yuck. This was supposed to be my meal tonight, but thanks to you? I lost my appetite.

I came in craving pho, but a few TikTok videos convinced me to try the Bò Kho with noodles instead of the baguette. I started with a summer roll, and I have to say I was disappointed. I make spring rolls at home, and this one felt extremely basic. It only had vermicelli noodles, shrimp, and romaine lettuce. No cucumber, no carrots, no basil, no scallions, none of the texture or fresh flavors that usually balance a summer roll. It wasn't awful, just...flat. This was also my first time having a summer roll where I had to pick out shrimp shells as I ate it, which definitely took away from the experience. For my main dish, I ordered the Bò Kho, and the broth did not disappoint. It was rich, flavorful, and a really nice switch-up if you want something pho-adjacent but a little different. The meat was extremely tender, though the pieces were cut into long chunks, so you basically have to bite through them if you want to eat it together with the noodles. Overall, this is a cute little lunch spot if you're craving something warm and comforting. If you don't want to drive too far and just need something to take the edge off your pho craving, it's worth a try. My rating is more of a 3.7 than a 3, but for is just simply too high in my opinion. I'll be back an update my rating!

However, the young male staff is rather rude and indifferent. First, off there is a Wi-Fi available "Caphe Guest" (see photo). I asked one staffer what the password was, because Caphe is in one of those sections of Old Town where wireless access, like Verizon, is notoriously poor. The guy gave me some garbled answer and walked away. Alrighty, so I asked another staffer and he said he didn't know what the password was and walked away. That leads up to my order of chicken pho. I asked for no cilantro and that same waiter repeated my request for no cilantro. But when the pho was brought to my table, the green in the pho looked suspiciously like cilantro. I asked the waiter about it. He looked at the pho and said it was not cilantro. I took a sip and quickly determined there was cilantro in the pho. When I tried to get my server's attention, as he was standing in back of the counter, he saw me and haughtily turned away. So, I took the pho up to counter and asked that my order be remade. To Caphe's credit, Caphe did correctly remake my order.. But the pho broth was brown and had an odd canned flavor. It just wasn't very good.

Before we even walked into the restaurant, we were informed that the left entrance door had been broken for quite some time. Since we had a double baby stroller with us, getting inside was a bit of a challenge and not exactly the best first impression. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 3/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant feels a bit old and dated and could probably use some updating. Interestingly, while the dining room definitely shows its age, the ordering system is modern and up to date. The contrast between the two was pretty noticeable. Service - Service was just okay. This is more of a casual setup where customers place their orders at the counter and the staff bring the food out when it's ready. There wasn't really anything memorable, either good or bad, about the service experience. What We Ordered - -Spring Rolls (Good) -Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Pho) - The flavor was good overall, but the broth was only lukewarm when it arrived. A bowl of pho really needs to be piping hot, so this took away from the experience. -Grilled Pork Rice Plate - The pork was a bit too salty for my taste and was just okay overall. Final Thoughts - This was an average dining experience. The food was decent, the service was adequate, and the atmosphere was nothing particularly special. Nothing stood out enough to make me want to go out of my way to return, but I also wouldn't discourage others from trying it if they're already in the area. There are simply other Vietnamese restaurants nearby that I would be more inclined to visit first.

Both were excellent. My vermicelli bowl was the standout--perfectly seasoned grilled pork with just the right amount of spice, fresh vegetables and herbs, crispy spring rolls, and the perfect balance of noodles and toppings. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The pho was just as good, with a rich, comforting broth and tender beef that really hit the spot. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and simple--nothing fancy, just a welcoming place that lets the food shine. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. At the table, we shared the crispy spring rolls, fried dumplings and chicken wings as apps. We all enjoyed these, especially the chicken wings. Everyone enjoyed their drinks too - the lychee li, the mango margarita, the botanical, the sticky mango, the old fashioned, the baccarat. We all enjoyed them. For the food we had the thai basil beef fried rice, general tso shrimp, panang curry, singapore noodles, house style wok tossed soft noodles, seafood xo, and the wonton soup. Most of us tried each other's food because of the healthy servings and most of us enjoyed what we ate. Our waitress Minzhi was awesome - friendly, knowledgeable and funny. The restaurant manager Q was nice and attentive as well. They even gave one of our party members a mango sticky rice dessert (which was just okay - would've been much better if the mango was riper and sweeter) and sang happy birthday to her. This is a great restaurant to try for the vibes and ambiance of dining in MGM but being so close to a hot spot of asian dining, there is plenty of better options within the area.
