What do you expect for a 7 dollar lunch buffet? I was on my way to visit Gatlinburg with my mom and uncle. We did not want to waste time, food was a great value and we did not get sick. This place needs to be shut down. Please heed my advice and DO NOT go to Sakura Buffet. There were several flies flying around our food that was almost unedible. We've been here about 5 times and it USED to be far better when they first opened. They got rid of the crab legs on the buffet(Which we looked forward to). They also got rid of almost every dish that had any type of seafood in it. I know the economy is down but you can tell they are skimping now on the quality and offerings. They now charge an extra $3. The sushi is very good. The rest of the buffet foods are 'ok'. Not too bad but just ok. The hibachi grill is fine but how can you mess up that? This buffet definitely is the best in the area though (Which doesnt really say much since there is only one other oriental type buffet and its atrocious). Id go for the sushi and pick a few other things out and it is still worth the money, especially on Wednesday when they have the special all day deal. read more

Dont't let the outside fool you. Pleasantly surprised once we walked in. The food was very good. They have a wonderful variety. Sushi, peel n eat shrimp, clams, mussels, etc. And about 6 varieties of ice cream! Also have an Hibachi grill. And for $6.95 you can't go wrong. Highly recommend! read more

The price for Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday is great. Those are the only days to come. If you come after 8PM or the other days the food is not replaced as often. Love this place. The food is great and so are the people. I would give it five stars if they had shrimp I like. It's either too spicy for me or on ice. Watch the buffet and when you see them bring out the Chinese donuts, get them and eat them immediately. They are amazing hot. read more

I have gone a few times with my husband and have always left with a relatively upset stomach. The food is pretty bland and greasy. The outside of the building as well as the inside is rundown. I have begrudgingly allowed my husband to take me there despite my overwhelming desire to run as soon as we open the front door. We went there, again, today for lunch and as soon as we left my husband was complaining of a stomach ache. An hour after finishing lunch he began throwing up. I guess i don't have to worry about him asking to go back there again! I would suggest that they update both the interior and exterior of the building and make a better effort to keep food at a safe temperature and, for pete's sake, cut back on the grease. read more

The food is a good value, tasty and a lot of variety... the restaurant needs a renovation on flooring and seating... clean the windows, mow the lawn, pull the weeds and give it the equal value in appearance as it has in food... I would not have gone there had it not been for the local recommendation... and detest the lack of clean plates, silver, table tops and buffet appearance... Most of the buffet food is pretty good for the price. My only real complaint is that the help is so surly. they all act like they are in bondage! Some speak so little English that there is a problem with communication. I would go back for lunch, but the one time I went with a friend for dinner, I was disgusted. For one thing, it cost a lot more...for exactly what was on the lunch menu! In addition, the girl who tried to wait on us couldn't even understand an order for one cup of black coffee! She kept walking away, then coming back and staring until I would say, (again!), "Black coffee, please", then she would say, "One moment", and walk away. This happened four times, then another waitress came over and took the order. Finally, after 15 minutes, the first girl returned with a Styrofoam cup full of what smelled suspiciously like instant coffee, but had milk in it! It took another 10 minutes to get black "coffee" which was barely lukewarm and tasted of instant coffee. The food was lukewarm, and much left over from lunch, no doubt. It was quite dry. Don't ever go for dinner, lunch is pretty good and the price is right at lunchtime, also the food is fresher and hotter. Note to owner: Don't force these young girls to wait tables unless they have some command of English. It's not fair to them or your customers. Also, the girl usually at the front counter is very unfriendly, in fact barely civil. You get pointed to a booth, and silverware slapped on the table, and later your drinks. No one ever thanks you when you leave, or invites you back. The help could use a refresher course on customer service, and if you want higher prices at dinner, then beef up the dinner menu. Make sure the help can communicate with the customers, and maybe an occasional smile wouldn't hurt! Are they indentured servants or something?
