I just moved from around the corner of the Katy location (the best one) to south Houston. I tried out the Pearland location for a second time since it was closer, as the first experience was underwhelming 2 years ago. Should've never circled back! On top of the rude white waitress, them opening 3 hours late --that they blamed it on a schedule mix up, I got VERY BAD FOOD POISONING !! I think it was from either the shrimp or filet mignon. Both my friend & I who went were sick. And yes, I'm SURE it was from there bc I ate 2 pieces of chicken later with 5 friends & no one else got sick. 5 days later I come back to the area & pass by, the doors were locked at 6:30pm & all the sign were off the doors except their B rating .

The sushi bar and ambience was nice.

The environment was nice!! Our waiter was charismatic and energetic, getting my kids engaged in their meal and drink options. However, once we received our spring roll appetizers it was downhill from there. The outside was crispy but the inside was mushy. We received our deluxe sushi order and I couldn't swallow it. The sushi was not fresh and tasted spoiled and nasty. We returned it and were only able to eat at the yakisoba noodles, mostly because the kids were so hungry and it didn't taste foul. The noodles had chicken and a few pieces of shrimp, even though we didn't order shrimp. Grateful no one was allergic to seafood!! This was a horrible experience!! I'll never return!!

I come here for the sushi, happy hour and vibes alone! Best shaggy dog in Pearland. And a round of applause for drinks because they're pretty darn stiff. (Tequila girl here) I went on New Year's Day.

Roaches on walls food was old fridge taste lobster reheated. I'm pregnant and I'm getting food poisoning for sure I'm going back there if I miscarry my fetus and make sure they lose their house myself.

It pains me to write this, as I've enjoyed dining here a few times and usually they don't disappoint. Unfortunately, today I received mushy shrimp fried rice and crab puffs that tasted as though they were fried in burnt oil. I also waited a long time for my order, despite calling ahead, and had to tell two different staff members what I was waiting on. I tried calling to resolve the issue, but the phone kept going to voicemail. I'm not sure what went wrong today, but I hope they get things back on track. I'm still open to giving them another chance because everyone has off days; however, I'll probably wait a while before returning. I should at least mention that the food was served hot and ambiance was nice.

The hibachi, demonstration is very entertaining and that's what made the food good. The hibachi table added a little twist to the dinner. You would need to get there early on the weekend mainly Sundays. The shrimp were big and fresh. The salmon was a nice size and well seasoned. The filet mignon melt in your mouth. It was worth the money,

The small roach crawling on the grill

This restaurant is infested with roaches, my family and I went for a birthday dinner. Before we were serve one of my family members had a fly on her plate. Then a small roach was crawling on the grill. We got up and left. They need to do a deep clean at this restaurant.

A great overall experience for my family. For the price you can't go wrong. There are several Grills In the area but for us we had a great time. Food was yummy. What wasn't to love? Got seated pretty fast for a party of 15. Very accommodating.

I've tried this place before and wasn't impressed but tonight's experience changed my mind. They gave me a huge lemon slice for my water which was much appreciated! We started with the gyoza, it was average tbh We ordered the boat and it did not disappoint. The chefs prepared it fairly quick despite the restaurant being busy for dinner. The sashimi slices were thick and cold. The nigiri and both rolls were good too. It says this feeds 3 but the two of us had a big appetite tonight. Totally worth the $ because unlike other places they give you a full selection instead of loading the boat with only salmon and tuna. Our waiter was friendly and attentive so we will definitely be back

The bartender was rude to myself and my daughter, but when my husband went to confront him about it he was quiet about what he did. This used to be one of our favorite lunch spots. We come twice a week! We have never had a problem there and all of the daytime staff wave at us when we enter. After the situation is "over" the server comes to the table and apologized for what we may have over heard because the bartender was still at the bar disrespecting my family. He never puts our order in and keeps going outside to vape, slamming the door constantly by our table. We wanted our daughter to enjoy her time out before school the next day so we smiled through it all, tipped 22% and left hungry. The food is quick and cheap and like I said we have never had a problem with any of the staff. We enjoy the two ladies that primarily work in the day. Today was shocking and the bartender was lucky that he had a family that was classy enough not to escalate the situation because he deserved it! We overlooked the restrooms and entry way not being the cleanest...but disrespect? Never!

We were one of only a few tables on a Tuesday evening and we had very attentive service! Our server came back for many, many sushi, sashimi and nigiri requests. We started off with our appetizers - I especially enjoyed the shumai and yellowtail jalapeño. We put in a ton of sashimi orders which came out pretty quickly! We also put in several specialty roll orders at the beginning of dinner though those came out later in our meal. By then, we were getting full from quite a few nigiri and sashimi pieces - though we did have a lot of orders which probably got a bit confusing! When the specialty rolls (the stars of the show) arrived, we took our Yelp-worthy pics of a gorgeous sushi boat before we dug in! The boat made for such a great presentation and it was so easy for all of our party to reach in and grab a few pieces. The standout of the night was the namesake Yamamori roll - that eel, tuna and avocado combo was such a hit! I enjoyed all the other specialty rolls as well. For dessert I had a few bites of my friend's green tea and was so impressed - the flavor was very well-balanced and not too sweet. I had a full serving of the red bean strawberry ice cream - it was my first time having a red bean flavored ice cream and I really liked it! I found that it balanced the sweetness of the strawberry well. My friends opted for the banana and Oreo tempura which looked delicious. This is a great AYCE option if you are in the Pearland area, and it's worth the drive even if you live elsewhere!

This time we ventured…read moreto Haley M.'s part of town to try Yamamori, one of the few AYCE sushi restaurants in Pearland. On Tuesday evening, we were 1 of 3 occupied tables and received fantastic, attentive service - our server was very patient with us as we awaited our full party's arrival and perused the lengthy menu, which AYCE enthusiasts will notice is very similar to that of Sushi Masa. Before long, our hot appetizers arrived quickly to the table, followed by the chilled/marinated tataki, which helped assuage our ravenous appetites! It took a little longer for our nigiri and sashimi to arrive, but we quickly divvied up the fresh, well-portioned spoils. Note that yellowtail/hamachi is not listed on the AYCE menu, though our server confirmed that it is available to order. Our selection of rolls took the longest to arrive - yet they were well worth the wait! The namesake Yamamori roll and the lemon-inflected Nemo roll were standouts; all the maki were well-sized, sturdily constructed, and tasted distinct from one another. We concluded our episode of gluttony with banana tempura à la mode, a deliciously crispy and creamy end to our sushi feast. While I typically batch our group orders to help out our servers, I think it may have worked against us as we ended up waiting longer for large sashimi and maki plates as opposed to smaller, personal orders. It's possible that our wait time was simply a reflection of their level of staffing for a weeknight; it's hard to predict how things might flow on the weekend when there are both more sushi chefs and more tables. All in all, Yamamori is a solid choice for folks in Pearland and south Houston - I'd come back if they added seared options to the menu or if I found myself craving sushi in the area!

Food on the other hand, for a vegetarian- only the Karma bowl for an entree. Its like you choose your grains, ur veges, and sauce and they will put it all together over heat and give you. Mine was ok and I probably could have added a lot of veges as my bowl was only 1/2 full. It is one price for one bowl, irrespective of how much of what you add. Taste wise, it was ok as I had no idea how much of sauce would go into it or the spice level. The second order was vegetable roll. We asked for a little customized version of excluding mushrooms. They brought it with 'kanpyo' instead and forgot the carrots First of all kanpyo looks like mushroom and didn't have the faintest idea that they were very different things , secondly carrots were no where to be seen. When called to enquire, they apologized and took back the order without a minute's hesitation and made a fresh batch made with no mushroom no kanpyo and carrots included. Appreciated that very much. Food wise summery, the bowl or the roll. I definitely preferred the roll and when soaked in sriracha, it exploded in my mouth with flavors. I'm not sure if she still works here, but the place honestly felt different without her welcoming smile and warm reception. We arrived just in time for breakfast (last Saturday) I ordered Bangsilog, while my cousin had the Tocilog. Service was fast as usual. I really enjoyed my Bangsilog--the bangus tasted fresh, perfectly fried, crispy on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. Unfortunately, my cousin's tocino was disappointing. The tocino was tough and tasted like it may have been leftover from previous day and simply reheated. Either that or it has been sitting in the kitchen for quite awhile. We still finished our meals. Because we were starving, but it definitely affected the experience. It also made us miss Hazel's customer service even more because if she had been there, we're pretty sure she would've handled the situation right away. I waited a while before writing this review because I wanted to be as fair as possible. The lady who served us was still very good, although it was obvious that the overall customer service experience was not quite at the same level as when Hazel was around. The biggest issue was really the tocino. Because of that, this latest visit to TJ's wasn't perfect and honestly made us wonder if it's still worth making this one our go-to spot whenever we're in the Houston area.
