Sakura Tokyo is definitely a good place to order from if you live in the neighborhood and are craving Japanese food. I wish I could bump up my rating a little, because of how affordable they are and how quickly they delivered to my house, but I can't say I was really impressed by their food. I started with miso soup and edamame, which were both good, but it's kind of hard to screw up miso soup or edamame. The sushi, on the other hand was kind of bland. I ordered the spicy yellowtail, and the spicy chicken roll, and while neither were bad, you get what you pay for. If you want cheap and convenient Japanese food this is a safe bet, but if you're in the mood for great sushi for a little more money I'd recommend Momo Sushi Shack in Bushwick. read more

I've never passed up a piece of sushi, but I threw away 5 of the 8 pieces in my combo because their color and texture were so unappetizing I thought they might have gone bad. I ordered from these guys through seamless. While I was waiting for the delivery I read the reviews on here so I knew the delivery could be interesting. I left instructions to buzz the door and I would let him in and I'm on the second floor. I just got a phone call from him. He just said delivery and I said I would be down...I went down and he was on his bike with two other orders...so I understand he can't leave other peoples food behind to run my food up. I order from Sakura Tokyo consistently, sometimes as often as two or three times a week. My two favorite things are the Beef Noodle Soup with Udon and the Salmon Teriyaki. We had a combo plate of sushi which included tuna, salmon and yellow fish. We also got a green dragon roll, goyza, and chicken teriyaki. HORRIBLE FOOD is an understatement! This was for dinner. Delivery was estimated at 25-40 minutes but after 1 hour I got worried that my food would never make it. So I called, super rude lady answered and said that the delivery person has left. Another 30 minutes go by and still no food. After the 1.5 hour minute mark the food finally appeared. FOOD: I do not understand how this place got such high ratings. The food was cold but even if it was hot it would have been disgusting. The Tempura was soggy and stale. It had no flavor at all. The chicken was a rubbery and weird. I personally don't even know if it is chicken, could have been some mystery meat that resembled chicken The sushi: OMG, I think you would have better chances at a gas station sushi. The rice and the color of the sushi was all off. I tried a piece and I think I made a horrible mistake. This place might be cheaper than some restaurants but you get what you pay for. We order their food quite often through seamless. Delivery is always efficient and food is very consistent. I always order the chicken Katsu set. It comes with chicken Katsu, rice, salad and a serving of California sushi roll for under $8! Their serving is generous. I don't know why they have such low ratings? Their price range is great but don't expect to get the freshest raw seafood. It's cheap for a reason. It's not bad at all, it just isn't 5 star quality. You get what you pay for. It is very decent and I try to order from there at least once a week because I want them to succeed. I love this place! I've only ever ordered delivery, and I don't think I've ever had an order take more than an hour--and usually they're here within 40 minutes. The sushi is really good for the price. And I love the shrimp tempura appetizer--whoever packs the food is a genius because they cut off the corners of the foam container so that the tempura can breathe and stay crispy instead of getting soggy. Genius! I love the dynamite roll (the regular spicy tuna roll is actually a bit too spicy for me, it's spicier than ones from other places). That said, I must warn against the chicken teriyaki. The major Con was that they forgot to pack my green tea ice cream and the order came with no receipt! The teriyaki chicken lunch special was good for the price but not well cooked. Quality of Sushi here has gone down dramatically. Do they have a different Sushi chef?? Sushi rice has way too much of vinegar used these days. It makes me sick when I'm eating the sushi rice..just taste horrible. And ROLLS are all rolled sloppy way. Rice is only covering some part of it and the rest of the part is no rice. It's totally fine with regular roll, everything doesn't need to be inside out roll. Hope they will look into this issue. read more

I was visiting a friend in BK, and we decided to order in. She raved about this place so I had to try it (she has great taste.) What can I say? She was right. It exceeded my expectations. The selection is huge, they substitute anything for you (like brown rice) in a gracious manner, their prices are amazing, and the service is quick! Did I mention the food was DELCIOUS?!
