I am a habitual dieter. Sigh. I first started going to Saladworks when I worked in Wilmington. I still visit when I return to the area to visit family and friends. Saladworks offers about ten different made to order salads. The salads range in calories with the majority at about 300 before adding dressing. The ingredients are standard such as lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and are fresh, being brought in daily. There are additional delicious add ons in some of the salads such as pasta or tuna. My favorite is the Bentley and my husband loves the cobb. I also like the Nicoise. Salads come with a choice of white or wheat roll which is also very tasty. I always order a create your own salad. My order consists of lettuce, a scoop of white noodles, diced tomatoes, cheese and bacon. I don't get dressing or a roll. If the serving look like a size of a teaspoon, I will request more. Which in this case I did . I was told that I would be charged extra. So I asked for extra cheese and bacon. This salad isn't worth 10.77 for a total of 5 toppings. Normally I don't have this problem with fox run or Middletown location . They will offer to sub the bread and the dressing for additional toppings . read more

This is for sure the busiest Saladworks I've been to in the area, albeit not the fanciest. During normal lunch hours on a weekday the line could be pretty substantial. However, I think the staff move at a decent pace during the afternoon rush. No real complaints with customer service here. It may seem at times they could be a bit more friendly behind the counter but they seem more focused on speed which is not a bad philosophy for a "stand & wait" joint. In my last few trips I have had the loaded chicken salad sandwich and a cobb salad. I've been trying to shave off calories and these have fit the bill in that respect. I would like to see a little more love put into the chicken salad here. At the Concord Pike store it's made fresh to order and you call tell. Here the chicken salad has that feel of being made yesterday and seriously chilled overnight. The cobb salad and side minestrone soup were alright; not too memorable. While still a chain fast food place with basic ingredients my opinion has improved of this Saladworks. The ingredients are clean and plentiful when I am there if some items are a bit one dimensional. The sun dried tomatoes are more like just dried tomatoes. The nicoise olives do not have a hefty brine to them. I could go on, but why bother you all have been there right? Tried a sandwich tonight. A BLT, pretty basic type of sandwich and it was fine. But nothing spectacular, other chains have better BLTs, and lets be honest 2 of the 3 ingredients are fairly common in salads so I was hopeful. What has increased my rating is the staff. The strip mall is still inconvenient, but the staff is quick and courteous. They do seem to always have trouble getting me a wheat roll every time and have to pull it from the back. I used to eat at Salad Works 2 times a week. In the last year it is like the hired someone to make it as difficult and aggravating as possible to deal with them. First they delivered local if you ordered 2 salads nice. Now they don't ad it's door dash or whatever. Pay more wait forever aggravation. Then I used to call it in for pick up while I was in the way. TO SAVE TIME. It was great your salad was ready. In and out. Well of course that's changed. To practical. I called today to order 4 salads. First I get put on hold for 11 minutes. Not really on hold listening to all the nonsense going on in the background. Then I get told if you call it in you have to pay on the phone. Yeh very convenient while driving there. Customer service is not their thing. I'm done. No matter how much I like the salad. Take a class on customer service. The nicer and easier it is to deal with you. The more business you will get. Sad. The girls seem overworked. Need proper training w changing gloves when making sandwiches and then taking payment, just to go back to handling food. I have been going to this location for the past few months, convenient to work, and since then the ice machine has been broken. I heard good things about Salad Works so I decided to get some takeout. I ordered the turkey salad with bacon and lite parmesan dressing. It came with a whole wheat roll and I also got a big macadamia cookie for dessert. Oh my goodness, the salad was to die for!! It was a BIG salad and very tasty!! The dressing was so good that I poured it all on, and I never eat that much dressing. The roll was soft warm and so yummmmy. Lastly, the cookie was sweet and very tasty. After being contacted by the manager I thought I'd give them another try. I went on Monday at around 7:15 and walked in and the 2 people working were already starting to close. When they aren't supposed to be closed until 8pm. I got in line and ordered a kids create your own salad (it's a half salad with 4 toppings that costs $5 something) I was told I could only have 3. I didn't fight it because the workers already seemed to have an attitude. Then my boyfriend got a full salad. I was then over charged. I was disappointed with the customer service tonight. When ordering my sandwich, Turkey Ranch Fusion, they looked at me like they had no clue what I was talking about. They definitely need to study the menu!! It's sad when I knew the sandwich menu and they didn't. It usually comes with swiss, which I hate! I asked for them to substitute it for cheddar. I got all the way home and of course it had swiss. Ugh! So I got stuck with a sandwich with no cheese. The bread on my sandwich was pretty dry. And they definitely go light on the roasted red peppers and mayo. I like light mayo on my sandwiches and even this wasn't enough for me. I placed an order on the app for pickup. No issues with that, salads were properly made and had everything. However, the app did not have the new kids meal options listed yet. I went into the store to pick up order and place order to try out their new kids meal. The advertisement on the wall says pick one from each of the 5 categories. So I started to read off my selections in the order on the ad. This seemed to confuse the lady behind the counter who asked me for a "base." I repeatedly read the ad as one from all 5 categories and she told me no sorry only 3 sides. I began to say okay I think this is same thing here, 5 categories include so called "base" and then a dip/dressing. However, by this time woman behind counter turned to lady at cash register for help. Lady at cash registered immediately told me " if you have a problem you can call corporate." This was very uncalled for and terrible customer service, which caused me to stop my order, pick up my to-go order and head out. I will never return to this location ever again. I found this to be an average location. I thought that the service was kinda slow in that they focused on one salad at a time. Why would you mix a salad in one bowl and then have to pour it out into a second bowl to go? They should establish the "eat-in" vs. "to-go" factor at the beginning of the interaction to save time and just prep the salad in the to-go container. Also, customer service level is robotic at best. My coworkers and I have been eating here for the last year or so. And in the last 6 months the customer service has really gotten worse. In the beginning we let it slide a lot because we assumed new staff was in training. However, its to the point now where we wont go here anymore. It mustve been at least 10 times now that they don't put dressing in the salad. Or they mess up the order somehow. I always ask for extra avocado on a thai chicken salad with no chicken. And its supposed to come with peanut sauce and sesame dressing. Well , today my coworker went to pick up the salad and was very specific about extra extra extra avocado and they literally put 1 quarter of an avocado in my salad. On top of that, they didn't give me peanut sauce. My coworker told whoever was working this afternoon that its supposed to come with two sides of sauce/dressing and he rudely told my coworker that it doesn't. Ive literally ordered the exact same salad for a year. The greediness with the avocado is ridiculous. It should have been my substitute for the chicken yet they always charge extra for a MEASLY amount of avocado! A girl told me a while back that if I want a lot of avocado I have to say "extra extra extra" which is what we did today, and they charged us for all the extras and still didn't even put it in there. I went back and they gave me a refund, but during this process they accidentally charged my card again, so they refunded the two charges. I've been to Saladworks locations all over the place so I feel I can judge this one pretty fairly. I enjoy salads at this chain generally but not when my order is screwed up, as happens regularly at this location. Like when I ask them to substitute cheddar for monterey jack and a second later the maker is ladling jack into my salad. Or when I'm asked twice whether I want my dressing on the side or mixed in, I say mixed in, and when I get the salad my dressing is on the side. The last time I pointed this out to my server she said "oh...my bad...ain't nobody gonna charge you extra for it or nuthin' - a nonsense answer that I didn't know whether to take as sarcasm or just gibberish. I also don't like being shorted a dollar in change (happened once), or when I am asked whether I want a white or wheat roll, I say wheat, only to find NO roll in my bag when I get on the road (happened twice). I go here because it's closest to my house and they have a $5.99 special on Mondays. But other than that they are nothing to write home about. I'm writing this comment with the hope that somebody or the manager of this shop would see it. Most of the time, my experience with this place is good. However, recently they have a new staff he is an only african american man in that shop. I don't have any problem with racial discrimination or anything, but this is just the only way I can describe him since I don't know his name. He is EXTREMELY RUDE..and look at us like he doesn't want to talk to us at all..and it is in extremely impolite way (I'm Asian..and use super polite language with him the same way I use with my professor)..he tries not to talk to us..just talks like he's talking to him self with a very low voice, but imagine..the american lady comes in...Surprise surprise he talks louder, clearer asking her what does she want. When this staff wants to ask me what kind of brad that I want? he just holding a tong and staring at me...until he gets the answer! the level of language, his glance, posture and everything is extremely rude and much different from others (Eventhough, it is still considered to be wayyyyyyy lower standard compared to other staffs). This happened to three times already...and we didn't even do anything..just walking in..he will start all the rudeness. Now, what we will do is if we walk in and see him at the counter next time, I will just walk out and find other places to eat. Yes, I am asian, but I have been teaching many american students..and staying here for a long while..nobody has problems with my pronunciation before nor all other staffs from this store.
